You cant beat the taste and quality for the value. If youre a value guy like me, youll like this place.Plus, its fresh simple delicious food. Fries are nothing to write home about, but the burgers are good. Ask for peppers with your burger if you like spicy foods.Double doubles are life. Thats all that needs to be said really.
Its fine. Its in n out. The food tastes good, they still do animal style, and theyll still give you hot peppers if you ask.
This was our top burger joint over twenty years ago when we were living in Phoenix. We were eager to eat here when we visited San Francisco in October 2021. Now that we can compare with Five Guys we think In-N-Out loses out to Five Guys as the Fries are thicker and not as dry as we found at IN&O. Thankfully we have several Five Guys in Hartford CT. That said IN&O is still a good burger joint.
As always an immaculate In-N-Out experience. The true American fast food burger this is the panicle of quality combined with value. Highly recommend animal and protein style with your double double. The best way to get the fries is “light well”. An amazing spot in the middle the action this is often quoted as one of the 3 busiest In-N-Out locations.
This was my first time here from out of town. The long line was handled well. I ordered the Double-Double meal. Definitely a fresh, tasty burger. My order was packaged neat and was so delicious. Thank you! ❤️
Pretty quick considering the line down the entire inside and outside of the building and down the street. no drive thru. but that’s okay. great priced for a pretty decent burger.if you like their grilled onions but haven’t tried their animal style fries, those are a MUST.
Great service! Friendly :) We were given free water cups, which was cool. The food was good, also: shakes were yummy. I got a double-double. I suppose it was not the best fast-food burger Ive ever had, but it was still really good. Yup. The fries were kinda meh though.
Other than the food itself, this In-N-Out location falls short from delivering an in and out experience. Getting through the line alone took near 45 minutes, followed by a 15 minute wait to receive our food. There are no bathrooms and the restaurant itself was dirty with trays and food abandoned on tables. They should at least have a sanitation stand for those needing to pick up other peoples trash (like I had to) in order to sit at a table. 2 stars for food and 1 star for being one of the few sit-ins available past 11:00 PM.
The burgers at In-N-Out are consistently good and come at a good price. The fries are pretty bland and kind of have the texture of cardboard, but theyre still weirdly good in a way. Always come expecting a line, since its always busy, but the line moves relatively quickly.
All in-n-outs are good. This one is fantastic! After serving some time on the rock it was nice to escape up the road to get some real American cuisine!! As busy as they were the food was out quick, customer service was tops and the double double with cheese animal style was epic!! Great location less than a mile from pier33 makes for an awesome end point after touring Alcatraz or walking the embarcadero.
This location has been great about following COVID guidelines. It was a bit too crowded (6pm, dinner time) for my personal comfort, especially with the Delta variant going around, but they’re still following city requirements.Food was delicious as always. Quality never suffers even when they’re slammed.
Popular with tourist. Very crowded and slow service but, well worth the wait. Good value. Should pre-make some burgers. They will move fast.
The first time I came to this location years ago I was wowed, but I think the quality of the meat has declined. Either that, or I have become a much more discerning consumer of burgers. Either way, this was fine. I dont regret eating it, but I wouldnt recommend it
Definitely great but victim of their success. Sometimes its just to crowdy. But they are fast so if you can wait 10-20 minutes it is worth it.
I got the protein version - Gluten Free wrapped in lettuce and it was soooo good! And I didnt get gluttoned! Yum!
We flew from Atlanta GA and I was told to get an In-N-Out burger. I was so disappointed the fries were cold, they would have failed a food inspection and that is a health hazard. The burger was average; my order was repeated twice and it was done wrong. They gave me one without the bun. And then they said sorry and gave me a bun and told me to put it on my burger. I added extra sauce and because I had no bun that was a bust. I was very disappointed. When we came they were not busy. The shake was not good either. A waste of money. I will retire the hamburger all together maybe I just don’t like hamburgers because it hurts my heart to throw away an In-n-out burger, 1/2 eaten, just about all my fries and 9/10 of a shake went into the trash.
I loveeeeeee me some In/Out Burger.Their burgers are so juicy.I wish they had a bacon cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. The food is fresh. The tomatoes are always firm never overripe. They always, always get my order right.I even gift cards for the kids.I might go get one right now.Plus they dont give me the butt of the tomato
First time at the in and out, probably the best fast food burger Ive ever had, juicy burger
You never say no to In-N-Out. Traveling from NYC to here for the best burger in my mind. Love it 😍
One of the few drive through (chain) eateries Ill proudly admit to going to.. not only is the price right but the consistency in their product, not only from one visit to the next, but also at the NUMEROUS locations Ive visited, is beyond impressive. Honestly, its why I keep going back; it tastes the same as when I went as a kid 🙏My order, almost always without fail: 4x4, animal style (add raw onions, a newer hack I learned, youre welcome), well-done fries and then sometimes an Arnold Palmer, sometimes a shake 😉 😋If you eat red meat, live on the west coast and have at least one active taste bud, theres not much of a reason to not have had In-N-Out
Rames is extremely helpful and provided awesome customer service. He has been working since I came earlier on in the day, and still remains extremely kind beyond working extremely hard. I would love for him to be recognized for not just his hard work, but the excellent service he provides!
I went there for the very first rime and wanted to see what it is all about,, what is the hype. We were very disappointed and I wont be back in any of the restaurants.. It was a joke. Asked for a veggie burger and got tomato, lettuce, onions, and some sauce in a bun. No veggies pattie, I guess I asked for a veggie burger and that what they did. The burger from my wife was a joke too, the beef pattie was very thin. The only good part, lettuce and tomatoes seemed to be fresh.
Great part of town very busy with people pedestrians cool low-riders cruising great time to people watch
Very first time we ordered In-N-Out Burger and liked it. The crispy underside bun and overall taste of our cheese burger was delicious. Fries were generally crispy but some were soggy.
Being from WA, it is a must to visit In-N-Out Burger anytime you are in California. My experience at this location near the Wharf was not as good as I usual. This may be more of a product of the labor shortage than anything, but the service was very slow. Further, I felt like the quality of my burger was not up to what I have historically enjoyed from In-N-Out. Do I dare say that maybe In-N-Out is starting to spread themselves too thin and thus, may be delivering inconsistent product quality? On this visit, the fries and shake help up, but the burger didnt. The meat itself was a little off on taste and the cheese completely melted off and slid off my bun onto the wrapper before I could eat it.For this visit, Ill let it slide since In-N-Out is the standard for burgers. However, I am suspicious In-N-Out is getting into over hyped territory and may have product quality slide since they have so many stores....
I really dont understand the hype about In-N-Out now that I had it. The line was super long. The employees werent friendly at all. The food tasted bad. Fries looked and tasted like cardboard. The melted cheese on the animal fries was so hard that I think they were just sitting there for minutes before I ordered them. The burger was okay. And the prices are too high. Not worth it in my opinion
When first entering In-N-Out burger, you may be tricked into thinking it is quite retro, but upon closer inspection, youll realise its not retro, its just dated! We will get to the food, but first...The hype surrounding this place is almost laughable. The over crowded location is NOT equipped with enough seats to cater for its demand. Instead, what you get is people staring at you whilst you eat so they can take your table the second you wipe your mouth. What a lovely dining experience. The service is pleasantly robotic, but I think this place could benefit from a sign on the counter saying tell your server if youd like onions rather than hear would you like onions on that 100 times before you even reach the counter. This particular location has no toilet and when I asked the staff where I could wash my hands before my meal, they simple started throwing instructions at me for another restaurant a few doors down and around some corner which apparently allows anyone to use their restrooms... For me this is unacceptable!!For a fast food joint, the service was as pleasant as it was slow. So I need to wait 15 minutes for them to cook my burger, and I need to clean my own table, so what right? I dont really mind waiting as the place was super busy and they cook fresh, but lets get those tables cleaned please!!Ok, so the food arrives. The presentation is great and I think the size of the burger is perfect too. I ordered what I order from any burger joint, two double cheeseburgers. Upon my first bite I think to myself now thats a tasty burger but by my second burger, Im thinking one thing only SALT OVERLOAD. Ive heard of loading food with salt to promote drink sales, but never executed quite as good as this. Needless to say, I couldnt finish my second cheeseburger due to the outrageous salt content. The decorations dotted around the walls are quite awesome, and show In-N-Out in an actual retro way, and these are great. There is also a section for merchandise, which can also be purchased online and which includes In-N-Out themed clothing. This was a nice touch, but ultimately, if the food isnt doing it for me, you dont get my five stars, and this place couldnt even break three for me.Nice experience, decent burgers for salt lovers but get a toilet, expand your seating, put the onion sign on the counter, retrain your staff to be both polite (which they are) and efficient (which they need work on), get those tables cleaned and give the option of reduced salt content burgers!!
Food is good they are fast and cheap. But busy a d packed
If youre in California, you have to eat at In-N-Out, its just a fact. And in San Francisco, this is the only one, and it does not disappoint! Burgers and fries were awesome, atmosphere is poppin, and theres a nice outdoor courtyard you can eat in if you dont want to eat inside and risk catching, yknow. 5/5
Parking is an issue but its not unique to this In-N-Out. Parking is an issue throughout that part of town. Theres paid parking nearby and if you are lucky you can find parking on the street.Enjoy
It has unfortunately been a long time since I was at the Wharf, so I have not been able to ear In N Out in a long time. When I went today, it was almost exactly as I remember it...well, actually the line was a lot shorter today than the last time I was at this store which was right before Covid hit in 2020.Today I ordered a single cheeseburger, and order of fries, and a soda all for a hair under $10(Really, it was....I did order a small soda though because they have free refills :)). The crowd today was pretty light around 5pm so my order was ready in just about 10 minutes. My food was just as I like it. My burger was cooked somewhere between medium rare and well done. The bun was toasted the perfect amount.(imho...I like it still soft like bread should be but the outermost layers should be a little cruchy.) They put on a perfect amount of ketchup and lettuce and, I was a little surprised, the perfect amount of onions which was an entire layer of a chopped onion as big around and the cheeseburger. The fries were fresh, hot, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and not so hot I had to wait 10 minutes to enjoy them. My small soda was great, it kept my meal under $10 and let me drink what I was craving which changes half way through my meal.I would not say it was PERFECT!!!! but it was pretty darn close and for someone who had been craving In N Out for weeks, it did not disappoint. There was only one issue and I almost dont even want to mention because Im not actually sure it is an issue...but as I said, its been over a year since I last ate here but I could almost swear the burger, I mean the meat and the bun and everything was just a little bit smaller than it was last time. I may be mistaken... I am will do my best to find out if this is true and when I do I will update this post.Regardless of whether it is my imagination or not, the dinner was totally awesome for a $10 dinner and much better than most other if not all object fast food based dinners I could get in The City for under $10. Go here!!! The only way you will not be happy if you eat here is if 1. You hate cheeseburgers or 2. You are vegetarian or vegan. This place is Hamburger Heaven!
Prompt service. Fresh ingredients. Very hospitable service agents. Fresh cut potatoes boiled in vegetable oil in front of you to become french fries. Festive atmosphere with the music 🎵.
Who made the burger? Its DELICIOUS. Check out the ghost menu!
I really liked their burgers. Reasonably priced and average, not large burgers which I liked. Not greasy either. Im not a huge fan of their fries as I found them under seasoned and dry but Im really picky about fries. Id go there for their burgers again in a heartbeat though.
I SPECIFICALLY asked for a grilled CHEESE sandwich...Just TWO items...CHEESE and BREAD I stated. The guy said: Ok, got youLo and behold!!! We got a FULL Cheeseburger style sandwich without the meat patty!!!LETTUCETOMATOSGRILLED ONIONSTHOUSAND ISLAND DRESSINGand of course...CHEESE and BREAD!!!We had parked 4 blocks away and waited 20 minutes in line to order. We waited another 20 minutes to receive our INCORRECT ORDER!!!Then walked back to our car.We were heading to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and have lunch THERE.When we opened our bags...DISSAPOINTMENT!!!We were not about to drive back, find parking, PAY for parking and walk another 3 to 5 blocks to get ONE CHEESE SANDWICH replaced!!!I get it, it was busy, but...if my order is acknowledged and repeated as I asked...well, THAT is what I SHOULD get.I had to scrape off all the sauce stuck onto the bread and replaced it with MY bread in order for my Daughter to eat her CHEESE sandwich.Ordinarily I would not make it a big deal, but my little one CANNOT eat hamburger meat due to a certain protein found in the red meat...hence why we asked for CHEESE and BREAD ONLY.OK...rant over!🤔🤷🤦
Great restaurant and really nice workers I would like to recognize Kobe for being such a friendly guy and helping me out as I ordered great place over all but the fries a little too salty but still good, love coming here!
Burgers, for some reason, didn’t taste as good as the ones I had in LA or even in Dallas. It’s still my favorite place to visit whenever I am in the West Coast and I will probably visit this restaurant again when I am back in SFO. The guy taking orders at the counter was full of energy and was very helpful.
Its in n out. Say.no.more.Oh alright a little more...I remember first working in LA and wondering what all the fuss was about and then once I was handed a double double by a friend I wondered no more. One of the tastiest burgers youll get, well worth the trip when youre near one - will not disappoint.
Delicious fresh burgers. Fries were meh but Ill gladly come back and order just a burger for a quick good pick me up.
First visit to this location. They were crazy busy. There was no space to walk or sit but Wow did their staff worked to clear the orders. We only waited about 8 to 10 min for our food for 4 people which was ok because that gave us time to get our drinks (self serve) and wait for a free table. They were cleaning tables as soon as people stood up. All the staff were super nice. This staff should be the model for all service industry. Busy and high stress handled with grace, great job.Burgers were good but we were not that excited about the fries. They were not as hot as we thought they would be because they were making fries as fast as they could. Only one size fry here. Fries are big enough to share. It was mostly the texture we did not like.Shake was ok and fluffy texture, tasted like a waffle cone.
Just had my first In-N-Out Burger ever and was pleasantly surprised. Im an East Coaster, so I had never had one before. The double double and fries was very good. It tasted fresh and not greasy.
One of the best fast food burgers places around. You can order it regular or animal style. They also serve good fries and shakes. It is pretty tasty but it is still a fast food restaurant. Just keep it in mind because people tend to oversell how great it is.Also this place can get pretty busy so be preparred to deal with the crowds.
This location was easy to find, they had some room when we got there but it filled up quick. They were adhering to Covid guide lines and some of the seating areas were cordoned off so customers werent sitting beside each other. all in all a good dining experience. staff were friendly and courteous, the place was clean and the food was ready in ample time.
Location - 5/5 ( It’s great place to walk around )Entrance - 5/5 ( They got two entrance )Sitting - 3/5 ( It gets extremely crowded and there is not enough space )Staff - 5/5Quality - 5/5 ( These are the best burgers in town )Quantity - 5/5 ( Super fulfilling )- There is nice outdoor sitting around the back foot entrance.- Nice ketchup dispenser.- The french fried are amazing.- The staff is super nice specially when they are bringing items inside the store.- You will be amazed how cheap and good it is.
Literally had a layover in San Francisco to try this famed burger joint before we head to New York. The burger didnt let us down, full of flavour and very fresh product. The fries would have been great but were so cold we couldnt get the appreciation that others have. The (secret menu) animal fries were tasty but again having it with hot fries would have been awesome.Still recommended but the quality check needs to be better to ensure all items are fresh.
Looks are deceiving here they messed our order up bugers were not cooked all the way and fries were limp and cold because we had to wait to make our order again. And Im not sure why they are famous, they taste like a regular hamburger nothing special dont waste your money here. Waste of money Eat Krispy krunchy Chicken worth the stop near pier 39 better than any chicken place hands down.
Reminds me of my dead dog. he made a good burger too. don’t wanna waste anything, unless it’s the fries. they came out cold.
It was great it was the only place that was open. Late at night for take out only. Bad thing was that there was no bathroom!! Even the public restrooms were closed already by 11 p.m. So there was no where to use the restroom not even if you paid them! just to go and pee real quick. It looked so lonely out there..... I miss my old sf, but the visit is nice but they a really strict with this whole covy going on right now.
There are no in n outs where Im from and I was excited to try out the legendary burgers my friends have told me about. The burger was pretty decent considering the cost... Sure beats McDonalds. The fries were gravely disappointing. They were an awful texture, overcooked, and easily some of the worst fries were be ever had. Service was good, the restaurant was clean, and I had no complaints with the exception of the food. It was such a let down.
2nd In-N-Out we’ve been to. First one we were out was phenomenal. However, the quality wasn’t the same at this location. They were extremely busy though. Still good food.
Definitely this is one of the stall you must try when you are California. Always crowded and waiting time is more than 30min. Only serve 3 kind of burgers. Hamburger, chess burger and double double which the double cheese Burger. The patties is fresh and not dry. Mix with big slice of tomato and oil give a new balance of the taste. I felt the French fries is just ordinary. Dry and not crispy.
Great affordable burgers. More expensive than the east bay.
Super fresh meat, animal fries and a must do when in California and you are a burger lover. I personally would do this on my next visit here.Wait time can be long and it can be pricey if you don’t know what to order. Ask for the hidden or secret menu with the animal fries which is a specialty for this joint. #CalforniaBurger
Wasnt very crowded, service was fast. Still no dine in (I wanted to go anyway) I miss the self serve drinks/free refill while you wait. But the fries were great as usual and the double double was just right for my appetite!!!
Ordered a chocolate shake very ordinary. The service was fast and courteous.
Gotta have a meal here whenever Im in San Francisco. Fresh ingredients, delicious burgers! The fries are bland compared to other burger joints, but I like it this way here cos of the freshness. Be prepared to queue and wait, line clears quite quickly. Tables for big grps might be an issue during peak dining hrs.
Delicious simple burgers and fries. Does anything else need to be said? I wish they were in Chicago.
This was my first time eating at In-N-Out Burger. It came highly recommended. Had a single burger and animal fries with a large coke. Burger was undercooked, was overstacked with lettuce. They decided to omit the onion on their own. Tomato was anemic. The much anticipated animal fries might as well have been made of plastic, aaaand the coke was clearly in need of replacing. Have you ever had a cheeseburger for lunch in elementary school? This burger was worse. Ive had better food at soup kitchens, and they had the audacity to charge me $30 for this nonsense. I may give them another shot, but at this point its gonna be a minute. Meanwhile gonna stick with Carls Jr and Jack in the Box.
Very quick and friendly service. Burgers, fries; its all phenomenal
Just like any other innout service is great at the counter. Food prep isnt consistent though depending on whos in the back. Sometimes the burgers come out very neatly packed and other times like today they came out like a mess. But food is still good
I like how they are all in sync with one another and they look great.
What else can you say? Its the only In-n-Out Burger in San Francisco, and its minutes from our workshop. The tourist-choked sidewalks and dining room are a bit of a turnoff, but the staff is consistently good-natured and hard-working. Stay away on weekend evenings and holidays.
I’m from New York and I always make it a thing to get some In-N-Out when I’m in California.I recently had a Double-Double Protein Burger with animal fries. It was good but if you’re going to order animal fries you might as well order your hamburger with the bun. Protein burgers are when they substitute the bread bun and wrap the burger in lettuce. It’s still good but I prefer a traditional burger. The counter person was nice and friendly. The store is always clean.
Typical In-n-Out experience. Often long waits, but its the only one in the city and in a tourist area so thats expected.
Maybe its because they started in Cali. But, it tasted better than the ones in AZ.
The employees at this establishment are so amazing. All of the in and outs have thee best employees. The food is ALWAYS IN ALL WAYS thee best so yeah. Eat there, go, right now.
