While living in San Francisco, I was a very satisfied customer of Through the Hayes for over 10 years. The Optometrists are outstanding, and I was particularly impressed by Dr. Langille. My prescriptions have always been spot on, and Ive appreciated the information she has provided on evaluating my eye health over time. In addition, I have always found their staff very professional and helpful, and I liked the very good selection of frames available. Ive recently moved out of the Bay Area, but I decided to purchase a new set of prescription eyeglasses remotely from Through the Hayes. The staff (thanks, Erwin!) did some great research for me to confirm that the frames that I was interested in would work for me, and they went above and beyond to work with me to place the order and ship the eyeglasses out to me. Best Service, Selection, and Staff! I bought a pair of replacement frames at their South Lamar location. Its normal for me to need a few adjustments before a new pair of glasses fits my face the way I want them. Staff has been awesome in getting my glasses adjusted to exactly how I need them done! Ive been coming here for years, since their 360 building location and will continue to recommend others to them for eyewear and eye exam needs.

Ive been going to Through the Hayes for a number of years and recently went back to them for contact lenses. They did a great job. Their equipment is modern, their methodology precise, and they are incredibly well organized.Great selection of stylish frames you wont find other places, and theyre always willing to make things right for their customers. Very impressed by the level of attention I received from Dr. Langille - she was really thorough and asked me questions that no optometrist has ever asked me about my eyes and sight. In addition, she and the staff (particularly Alexa and Jason), spent a lot of time with me and made sure I had all the information I needed on cost and insurance. I moved here in 2012 and had to find a new optometrist after having the same excellent one in Venturq for decades. Ive been extremely impressed with Through the Hayes Optometry. Dr. Angela Tam is thorough, gentle, empathetic, and efficient! She got me through my preparation for cataract surgery which was so difficult because of my decades with gas permeable contacts, extreme near-sightedness, and significant astigmatism. Because my vision kept changing the months I was off contacts, Dr. Tam tweaked my prescription so I could function normally until my surgery. Dr. Tam and her whole staff are always so helpful and knowledgeble. I only need reading glasses now, but Through the Hayes has really stylish, beautiful frame choices. Love the location as well! I give them all my highest recommendation.

This used to be my favorite place. However, I have had multiple issues with my last purchase. The staff recommended that I pick a certain frame. I have a very high prescription, but they were highly confident that my lenses would work in that frame. Im in round 3 of getting the lenses redone and still they are not right. Asking for my money back and taking my business somewhere else.I give their selection a 5. Their doctors a 5. But, I would like to give their staff a -5 just because I trusted their opinion and it was very, very, very wrong. Please note, I have over 5 pairs from them, and this is the first one they have messed up on. But, boy did they mess up.Old review:I find my favorite selection of glasses here, everything from hip to classic styles. All of the staff are incredibly helpful to make sure you find exactly what you are looking for in your frames. Cant find it? They will keep an eye out for a particular style and call you when it comes in the store.

I have been a patient for about a year. What a great team these folks are. Everyone from Dr. Thérèse Langille to the schedulers is so professional and competent that as soon as my exam started, I relaxed and felt like I was in very good hands. I also really appreciate good communication and their excellent followup.

The doctor and staff were all very friendly but when I presented my groupon, that I linked to from their yelp page, they said they dont do groupon. Other than that, a good experience. They gave a discount for paying in cash without using insurance.

Excellent service, the optometrist is super nice. But they take almost 2 weeks to get the lenses back to you and are more expensive than other places Ive been.

I have been going to Through the Hayes for years. We recently moved to Marin and tried going to more local places, but were very unhappy with the selection and customer service. Its worth the trip!

Do not go here. I asked Through the Hayes to email me my prescription. They refused at first, claiming that my exam was 10 months old and I had to be seen for another eye exam. When I pointed out that not only is illegal not to allow me access to my own medical records but also possible extortion to do it to try to force me to pay for more services, they immediately sent it.

Love these folks - theyre always accommodating and nice to me. Plus they have a great selection of frames.

Collosal waste of time.Spent 15 minutes on the phone filling out forms only to show up and have to fill the same forms out again. Then wait 30 minutes while they figure that they dont support my incredibly common insurance. To be quoted a $160 eye exam.Go to Costco, save yourself the hassle and trouble.
