Caliber of work superb, dealings with front office & their interaction with insurance provider very efficient & effective; a business that is a joy to work with! And my pandemic filthy car was returned to me in pristine condition inside & out!

Great service and communication with an excellent turn around time to help remedy a bad situation. Friendly people who are not just a business but part of the neighborhood, and you can tell from just being there for a little bit. These guys are serious about their work and you can tell they take pride in what they do. If I ever have another incident, which I hope I don’t, I will come back here for the remedy.

Impeccable service! Great communication, an honest assessment of the damage to our vehicle and what it would require to repair it and finished in a timely manner. Our car looks amazing and they cleaned it inside and out! My car needed extensive body work after an accident, including getting sensors replaced. I was mostly worried about the sensors not fully operations the same. Needless to say, when I picked up my car it looked brand new, and it drove amazingly well. Aside from being happy about my car, the people who work there are so nice, explain everything, and are very thorough. I highly recommend Carstar Sunset Auto!

I have had our Volvo worked on twice by CARSTAR in the Sunset/Irving St. and both experiences have been excellent. After each job was finished, we were astonished at how the previous damage was completely undetectable. Our second experience was paid for by our neighbor as his daughter backed into our car which was parked in our driveway. Lourdes, the office manager, suggested she handle contacting him re: payment info./etc. which took the awkwardness out of having to deal with that myself. Also, special SHOUT OUT to Victor, the head honcho, who on a Friday at 4:30 came to meet me and my son on California St. in Laurel Village as my cars battery shut down d/t not being used for the duration of the repair. I panicked and called Lourdes, as at the time was unsure of what was going on- she tried to trouble shoot with me, and after nothing worked, she said Victor was coming to meet me. He jump started it and the car is/has been fine since. So impressed with this awesome act of going the extra mile(s:) to make sure his customer was safe and satisfied!

Cant recommend them enough. I’ve been here twice- once they kindly checked out my car after a small accident and checked it out for free and gave some advice (it was at the end of its life, I kept driving with the big dent). The second time I came in when my window mechanism stopped working, and they fixed it quickly and efficiently, explained everything clearly, and only charged the $180 initial fee since a piece just had to be realigned and glued back in place. Thank you, Sunset Auto! I’ll definitely be back for any repairs.

I found Sunset Auto via my insurance company after being hit while driving. They were great! Very communicative about the insurance process and throughout the repair. Bonus points for washing my car and cleaning the interior too! A very pleasant surprise as I feel like body shops always used to wash your car (even after just an oil change) and no one seems to anymore. It was above and beyond and looks better than it has in a long while.

I made a same-day appointment for an assessment of damage. Parts arrived within two business days and I received a call to schedule an appointment. The work was performed promptly, courteously, and thoroughly. The shop has strong COVID protocols in place to protect staff and customers.

I got into an accident and John, the owner, was wonderful. He made sure that the estimate and parts were promptly ordered. And he was such a sweet person and made feel better about the event.

I dont normally review places online, but felt compelled to rave a bit about Sunset Auto. This last weekend i hit a deer on the highway, which besides being kind of terrifying, also damaged the driver side door. in the following days, a headlight burnt out as well, so based on the other reviews, headed down to try to take care of both at once. the guy who helped me (the owner?) was friendly, super cool, and fixed the door in 30 seconds. he didnt have the right bulb for the headlight, but offered to help me install it after i went and got one at a nearby autoparts shop. which he then did. the whole thing took a total of maybe 45 minutes total, and he refused to accept payment. I can guarantee that the next time i need a mechanic or some body work done, this is the place im going. and ive already started telling all the folks i know that this is the spot. had lots of bad experiences getting car repairs in the past, so this unexpected bit of selfless kindness was extra special, and made my day/week/month. give this place your money. i most definitely will from here on out!
