Best sandwich I’ve had in a while - the Gio Supreme! Great service and friendly folks that work at this family establishment. Will be back!

Todays sandwich is amazing. If you get a sandwich, make it hot. I got the Gio turkey with bacon/avocado. Really delicious! I had a cold Turkey sandwich from them yesterday and it wasnt my favorite - so I recommend the heated sandwiches. Really nice and caring owners.

Great sandwiches and Friendly owners. Was looking for a place just like this while walking through the Gaslamp Quarter. The Hub Club and Reuben Pastrami sandwiches didn’t disappoint. Will definitely visit again while in San Diego. Thank you Marcel and Nina. :-)

Great sandwiches..they make them fresh and have a large assessment. Sandwich maker does an awesome job. Order is always correct. Have great sides, salads, drinks, and snack assortment. Great place to stop and grab a great deli sandwich hot or cold and supplies for a picnic,lunch, or dinner. Awesome liquor and beer and wine selection too. Reasonably priced. Awesome spot with excellent service. Check them out.

Came in to the deli based on all the reviews raving about the sandwiches - they were ok? They took FOREVER to make so I thought they were going to be amazing and they were just average? My friend didn’t even get meat on his, and my order wasn’t correct….Maybe there’s new staff, but it wasn’t busy at all so I’m confused

Run by authentic and genuine human beings. I got 3 items(2 steak egg burritos and their biggest meat-ist sandwich. Forgot the name) and they were all amazing. Simple sandwiches done right. Im going back for more today

Food was great, especially the hot sandwich (I got the chicken Philly). The prices are good for the size of the meal, and the owner was friendly as well. Also, a well stocked liquor selection and small market.

We stopped by this Deli/Liquor store while on a work trip with some colleagues as we worked on a team scavenger hunt and the owner was SO AMAZING with us! He had an awesome personality and did all he could to help us out with all of our random questions and request. He was great! The store was also very clean and is definitely the perfect one stop shop for everything.

The staff is very friendly, and the food is awesome! I love their Gio Sandwich! It’s big enough for 2 servings!

I think I just had the best sandwich of my life (the Gio)! This hidden gem in the Gaslamp area is a must-try if youre looking for something quick and delicious. Also family-owned and operated. Loved hearing the banter between the mom and son who were working.When I was in (November 2019), hot sandwiches were $8.99 and cold $7.99.

The most delicious sandwiches are made here. One of my favorites is the Gio supreme. Huge selection of wine, beer, and liquor. I always enjoy coming to the Hub Market & Deli in the Gaslamp.

Staying in a Timeshare in Gaslamp District and just wanted some straight forward non-fancy good to eat in and watch football food.. Found Hub Deli. The looks of the place could convince one to go elsewhere but dont. High quality meats and cheeses super fresh produce and bread and YUMMY sandwiches! Friendly helpful staff. Very reasonable pricing, especially for the area. Great place to grab and go.

I stopped in to the Hub Market and Deli during a visit for a scientific conference with my friends. Wow, what an incredible experience! We asked for some cups to take a drink with us outside, and the person working there made SURE we had enough cups and even came out on the street to give them to us! A+ service, highly recommended!!! Love this place.....very clean and by far best deli in downtown. Family owned and there food is super fresh. Lots of cool specialty sandwiches and they also let you create your own saying if we have it we will make it. So I always create my own style sandwich. Fun atmosphere and friendly people. I highly recommend this place to eat. They also have a large variety of alcohol wiht snacks and candy and 18 door cooler with drinks and cold beer. Enjoy!!!

It was a beautiful day and i was sitting in my backyard eating a Gio sandwich, that Gio put the biggest smile on my face it was so good the Hub can put a smile on you. covid 19 did not win today.

From the street an unassuming convenience store, but in the back is a top notch deli cranking out amazing sandwiches which are probably the best value in the Gaslamp. Well stock beverage coolers and convenience store front for chips and snacks round out the place. Very friendly staff. Great selection of local beers, all varieties of wine, and a large liquor selection. Great find.

Unassuming convenience store at the front but great little deli at the back pumping out quality meats. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and grab the award winning Gio - hands down the best sandwich Ive ever eaten. Layers of turkey, cheese and crispy bacon. You cant go wrong. And at 7.99 you couldnt find a better deal and a nicer family serving it. My only regret is finding out about this gem a few days before I had to leave. An absolute must in San Diego!

I havent had anything that comes close to the taste/value/and simplicity they offer @ great prices! Support these guys...grab a Sandwich!

Friendly damn people who deal with all walks of life on a minute by minute basis. They are always full of smiles. They have decent snacks, great drinks, and awesome sandwiches. The best deal downtown perhaps.

A simple family owned business where you feel like family. I dont know the fathers name, but Marcel and Gio, and their father, plus all their employees make you feel comfortable, at home. I go out of my way to go there.

Walked in, deli is in the back. THey have a daily sandwich special for $5.99. I opted to make my own, I had a number of different bread, cold cuts, cheese and toppings to choose from. Lady behind the counter was super friendly and helpful.I highly recommend this place if you want a sandwich downtown that isnt going to break the bank.

Dirty. Not busy at all there but the employees ignored our call ahead order. Old food and employee meals sitting on the counter and unprofessional staff. Super bummed, since we had seen awesome reviews, but would absolutely not recommend.

Quaint place, but unremarkable. I really cant think of anything to say. O.K., it was better than Subway.

The majority of the premade sandwiches had grey meat. They definitely werent fresh. They also had pre packed pasta. Nothing had dates on it when it was packed or expired.? Isnt that required? When I asked the guy at the counter when they were made he said either yesterday or the day before he was pretty sure and then he said you can take a bite of you want... really? Some people have zero business sense. I will never go back.. concentrate on being a liquor store, should not be selling prepared foods.

Decent sandwiches for a a low price. NOT a lunch spot, but a place to grab and go. (Just make sure you have somewhere to go. San Diego is not blessed with many benches that aren’t already occupied by homeless gentlemen.

In town for a conference- walked by and saw my fav Vodka so decided to pop in and grab a bottle - it looks like your average corner store, great selection of snacks drinks alcohol - SUPER friendly guy behind the counter, he mentioned they have lemon/lime in the fridge and Im more than welcome to grab one. I hesitated as I did not have a knife back at my hotel room and explained this to him and he took the liberty of cutting them into wedges and sealing them in here take container for me to take back to my room! So helpful! Their deli had great selection. I can honestly say I have never experienced such great customer service in an establishment like this. Keep it up! My only hesitation from ordering from the deli is that they did not have gluten-free bread options and I unfortunately, I am on a very strict diet. Menu looks nomnoms.

Seemed dirty. There was a rotted apple frozen into the ice freezer. Everyone there seemed grumpy and unfriendly and I went because it seemed a great deal--$9 sandwich with complimentary chips and drink, which was advertised on the menu on google-- but the guy at the counter said it included nothing and I ended up paying over $11. Wish I could say this place was worth the walk... but I cant.

They have absolutely great sandwiches! My most favorite is The Gio which comes with their amazing honey mustard (out of this world stuff!), turkey and avocado. I get it every time Im around the area. Also they have a huge selection of wine (my fav. :P) and beer and of course all with reasonable prices. Another great thing about it is that it is family owned, which makes it 10x better to go, since I absolutely support family owned businesses.... Go for the GiO people! ;D
