Got a glestain 210mm gyoto ordered sunday came thursday in the factory box Im happy with it

I ordered a couple things from their online store. I noticed that the charge had been refunded and never received a shipping confirmation. I called and asked about it, and the woman I talked to on the phone was so friendly and accommodating. For some reason my card had been flagged, but she fixed it right away and I got a confirmation the next day. Such an easy phone call to make, and I feel great about the whole experience. Ill be glad to buy my kitchen supplies from here again!

Never buy knives from them. I bought knives from them that were not the quality they said, so I called them to find out if we could work something out. I spoke with David, the owner. He refused to work with me and hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. So I called back and spoke to Meghan who abruptly also hung up on me. Save your money and time! Do not do business with this company!! If I could I would give them zero stars. You called me a scammer. I am not a scammer. I am a 70+ year old that wanted quality knives. I was not happy with the quality and wanted help in resolving my issue but no one wanted to listen to me. Maybe you don’t always provide bad customer service and you treat most of your customers with respect but that’s not how I was treated. You hung up on me and I spent my money with you.

UpdateHeard back from customer rep. They were polite and offered refund so i will be changing my review from one star to four. But i hope they will work on their shipping and handlingStay away from this place please.I ordered two knives and i received them but packaging was so terrible that completely disappointed me.Emailed and called and left a message but NO response.No box no sleeve. Two knives just wrapped in paperNot protected at all. Long knife has a ding.Could be an used one for all i care.Terrible customer service.Please stay away

I wish there was 0 star rating.Very bad customer service. I’ve purchased few items from knife merchants 3 weeks ago for international shipping. So far, I haven’t received any shipping details but they have taken the money from my bank. I’ve sent them 3 separate emails for response in regards to shipping details or the whereabouts of my items. NO RESPONSE from any emails.At this stage, I’m guessing they just took my money and completely ignoring my emails. I’m still waiting for their response but in the future, I will never shop at this place again.

The Ollivanders of knives. Went here to get my first quality set of knives, Christopher was extremely nice and dedicated his time to help choose the perfect knives for my use. He even rounded the throat of my santoku to better accommodate for my grip. David educated me on the different styles of knives and crafting methods. Overall, all of the employees were customer oriented and made choosing a knife more of an experience than a purchase. Walked out with 2 knives that feel as if they were made for me, definitely will go back when I need to add to my new collection!

Absolutely love purchasing knives from them. I personally bought knives for a gift a couple of years ago but my mom purchased some last week and had an issue with one of the knives. Now the issue wasnt with Knife Merchant but with FedEx, it looks like they dropped the package and messed up the tip on one of the knives. Not only did Knife Merchant ship out a new knife in 2 days they told her that if she knew anyone that could fix the tip on the other knife she could keep it. This business knows what customer service is and has me as a customer for life.

I always get a little nervous shopping online from lesser known retailers, but my experience with The Knife Merchant was perfect. Items were shipped and arrived promptly and within the estimated time and their prices were better than amazon for my sharpening supplies.

These guys are great, very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Theyll take great care of your knives and know how to sharpen all varieties of steel properly. Solid variety in their showroom, good advice if you need it, all around excellent experience. Ive been back many times.

Fantastic. I ordered the Ultimate Edge knife bag in Olive, but decided to get it in graphite so I called back and the ladies we’re more than happy to help me out! The package came sooner than expected (website said 7-10 days, came in 5) and extremely well packaged. The bag I ordered came in perfect condition and the quality is out of this world! Came here by Recommendation of a friend to look and buy a knife bag. I have to say I will be coming back . The ladies at knife merchant are Very helpful and knowledgeable. They said what they have in their website and dont have in their lobby theyll go in the back and bring it out for you.

Came into the retail store in San Diego looking for a chefs knife, couldnt be happier with my visit. The girl at the front counter was helpful and knowledgable, and Chef David was even there to answer some specific hints and recommendations. This place is absolutely fantastic, they have a very impressive selection of fine cutlery, the store is very clean and organize the, the staff is not just super friendly but extremely professional and knowledgeable, the first time I contact them was via email and Meghan responded right away and answerred all my questions, today I visited the store and Meghan was available to help me, she remembered what knife I mention on my email and also showed me other options available, it is very impressive all the detail and information she gave me about all the knives she showed me. I also had the privilege to meet David He was able to sharp my knives and He also polished them, they look like new and never been sharper. The very BEST in Customer Service, Support, Knowledge, and Products. I found out about Knife Merchant from YouTube via Chef Hiroyuki Terada. After seeing owner Chef David Holley and seeing Bill the master knife-smith I knew I would be in good hands.I recently traveled to Japan where I purchased some knives and one of them took a tumble to the floor destroying the tip and heel of the knife (white #1 steel). I was devastated; but after spending a few minutes talking with Megan about what happened she said to send it in and they would evaluate the damage and see what could be done, but honestly made me feel like there was absolutely nothing to worry about. And she was right... a few days later my knife was repaired, sharpened, and in the mail back to me!!!I am BEYOND thrilled with the process and have loved interacting with the staff. I dont think there is a better place to buy, maintain, and learn about knives. Thank you all SOO MUCH for your help! You guys are AMAZING.-Sal

I do apologize but I promptly forgot the name of the gentleman who actually did the sharpening and straightening of my knives, but I couldnt be happier with the job he did on them. Exceptional customer service! I went in to have my existing inexpensive knives sharpened and to look at replacing them with something better. The owner sharpened my knives while Amber showed me new knives. She listened carefully to what I wanted and made a couple of recommendations. The very first knife she showed me fit me perfectly - the handle design made it feel like an extension of my large-ish hand. I asked about more expensive brands and she gladly showed me, but never tried to upsell. I ended up walking out with 3 styles of the first knife she showed me, my two original knive - now sharper than the day I bought them - and short tutorial from the owner on how to use a sharpening stone. The store is tucked away in a business park and their low prices reflect that - very glad I took a long lunch and made the drive.
