Macaron making class was awesome! They turned out really well. Well definitely be back for more cooking classes here. Chef Joey was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave us tons of tips to help us do this at home. Thank you!

I’ve taken a couple of the cooking xlasses with Sur La Table. My last one was a real bummer. There were 13 people on the class and 3 mixers. :-(. So beware when booking a class. Ask how many are there. I could watch a You Tube video for free rather than pay for a class to sit and watch as well.

I took the “From Paris With Love” cooking class taught by Chef Yapo along with 6 friends last night. While Chef Yapo seems to be a skilled chef, his interpersonal skills could be improved upon to say the least. He focused heavily on the things that participants in the class did poorly and was quite critical. I loved the food and recipes and getting to cook with great friends but would not recommend taking a class with Chef Yapo.

They have a wide variety of useful and interesting things for your kitchen, such as: pans, aprons, knives, food grinders, food slicers, dishes, cups, towels, drying racks, coffee makers (the professional ones), etc.Customer service is good. They also have some Christmas ornaments on sale (very colorful and nice ones, different than the regular ones. I loved the popcorn ones, which were $20 regular price, so they would be $10 with the 50% off).Definitely a good place to come and look for whatever you need for your kitchen.

Took a macaron making class and loved it! The kitchen has the AC cranking, so best to dress prepared for that constant cold blast. Chef and staff were great. Looking forward to taking another class! Bonus: day of class you get a discount on your purchases including booking of another class. Take advantage of that!

When I walked in the representative said that everything was 20% off for friends and family. I found that there were exclusions and I bought the exclusion brands thinking they were on sale...so no discounts on some very expensive items. I think there should be disclaimers and clear signs about the exclusions and what is not on sale so its very clear whats on sale and what isnt. Very disappointed in this experience today.

We had a company get together class here. It was about 17 of us. We brought wine and were able to sip and cook in groups. We had a great time. We cooked Thai food. After our 4 courses our instructor seemed to have enough of us. He made a giant batch of sticky rice for dessert, placed plates and forks on the table and waved us a good day. I think he ran out of patience. I thought we were doing well. We all had a good time but ended our class on a sour note. They do offer a 20% discount on purchases after the class including future classes. I would have loved to come back with my husband, but you have to book that same day!!! I would had signed up if I would have had the chance to come home and looked at both our schedules for possible times.

If youre looking for a relaxed, fun date night, this is NOT the place. Chef Mark is knowledgeable and takes his job very seriously, but for a one-off cooking experience, that translates into a level of intensity that is just not what we were looking for on a night out.Thats not meant to be a dig. If you are serious about learning how to prepare a particular type of cuisine (especially over a series of classes), this might be your place. If youre looking for a Cooking Channel-type atmosphere, where a chef recites his credentials for 5 minutes to start the class and then barks questions at you for the better part of 2 hours, this is definitely your place. However, if youre looking to kick back after a tough work week, eat some good food (that you, yourself, actually prepared), and learn a couple things in the company of other likeminded people, with whom you can actually interact, keep looking.

Take a cooking class here -- so much fun! Excellent directions, fresh ingredients, great tips ( like use a spoon to peel ginger), plus you get to try some of Sur la Tables nifty kitchen gadgets and knives. Added bonus -- you get to eat what you prepare!

Chef Mark Brewington was phenomenal. Our corporate team building event took place here on 9/22/17 and we all had a tremendous time learning and cooking a meal together! Chef Mark is intelligent and a true professional; he educated us and created a fun environment (not to mention the food was amazing). I will return for additional classes, there is no doubt about that!

Took a Thai cooking class and the class was just OK. The class was based on Pok Pok cookbook by Andy Richter. The dessert (mango coconut rice) was by far the best thing the rest of the dishes were just OK or worse than that. Tom Yam soup was greatest offender. it requires you to cook some of the ingredients with pouring boiling water over it. Well the pork shoulder was cut in half an inch pieces and there was no way this was getting cooked through by just pouring water over it. The pieces needed to be paper thin for that. As a result we were trying soup with raw meat in it. some people ate it hope they dint get sick from it. Chef Mark said the quality of pork is high these days but after reading Food and the way meat arrives in our stores I like it cooked through. The wings were OK but I found recipe by the cookbook author on the web which is a lot simpler than the one presented during the cooking class (on the web they are using corn starch in Sur La Table rice flour and tempura batter mix which you would have to hunt down in specialty stores like Sur La Table olala). Papya salad could have been great had it not been for 2 super spicy unfortunate chilles. I think chef Mark is probably amazing in standard American or European cuisine but seems out of his comfort zone with Thai cooking. It felt like they were doing this class for the first time so maybe it will get better down the line. Nice thing is that we recieved Pok Pok cookbook at the end(granted this class is about $20 more expensive than the others so that covered the cookbook). The store itself is nice but waaaaay over-priced.
