I had such a fabulous experience that I am compelled to share my story;I had several Tiffany style lamps that were in need of repair. One in particular is a beautiful heirloom floor lamp that was damaged by movers. I tried everything to have it repaired but no one would touch it! I remembered several years ago that I had worked with Tap Lighting when I managed a local restaurant. So, I thought why not, I’ll give them a try!I worked with both owners of the store sending them pictures of my lamps to start with and getting quotes via email. Colt and Tammy were both spectacular to work with. They are extremely passionate about what they do. Colt said he could fix my floor lamp. The price quotes were very reasonable! They say a picture is worth 1000 words so I am going to attach the before & after pictures. Colt performed, “A Mechanical Miracle!”I really can’t express how thankful I truly am for the way things turned out!

I absolutely love this place. I will never go anywhere else for lighting purchases and repairs. No need. They have everything. Heres how I got to the coolest house on the block and althought it sounds like an Etsy rants...I promise you I will land my plane.I found some mid-century lamps on Etsy. Typically I love Etsy. Supporting small shops, artisans, and makers - this makes me happy. This particular seller said that the lamps were in great condition except for a couple of chips but not really noticeable. She charged me $100 for packing and shipping. I said okay because she said they would be shipped in custom shipping boxes.Lamps arrived in some taped up contraption of different old boxes with packing materials that smelled like mold and clearly was just old stuff she had lying around. In taking the lamps out of the boxes - the plug came off in my hand. Not lying I picked up the cord and boop plug landed on the floor. In telling the seller her response was, well it was perfect when it left my house. Fine Ill buy in to your fariy tale. She said she would pay for the repair. which she did - TAP Lighting to the rescue.Not only did the owner completely rewire both lamps, he put in a new switch for a very reasonable cost. He covered the bottom with the felt and my lamps had two proper, working, and safe cords and plugs. This is important because the sister lamp had a plug hanging on by the last strands of copper wire. Thank you TAP - youre my new small shop place to shop!

I have driven by here so many times and wondered about it. Today I went in to get a lamp repaired. It’s a lighting wonderland! They have modern, new, vintage, antiques and one-of-a-kind sconces, chandeliers, floor lamps, table lamps, fixtures, shades and accessories. Some price points are higher than others. But all the products were in great shape.It’s an Art & Crafts home converted into a shop. It’s quirky and wonderful. And the people are super knowledge, helpful and nice. They fixed my lamp even though it was an odd repair and was reasonable.Highly recommended!

This was overall such a magical experience! Not only did we find a beautiful dream lamp….but the history and everything in this house was mystical, and the owners took such good care of us and have an obvious passion for everything they do and with so much to choose from we will absolutely be coming back!

TAP Lighting is great! I walked in thinking my lamp would need rewiring...but no! All it needed was a new turn switch that they didnt charge me for and I walked out only paying for a 3-way bulb thats designed to last 22 years! WOW! Happy Friday to TAP Lighting!👍🏾👍🏾

Great place just has parking issues

TAP Lighting is such a breath of fresh air! A mom and pop business with a wonderful unique selection of lighting, ceiling fan etc. I have bought many lights from here and what I love about my purchases? They do not look like home depot or lowes. Acquiring a unique light is equivalent to receiving a piece of fine art! On top of all that the service is helpful, informative and the reason why I come back again and again!

I had a broken floor lamp and emailed El Corko for help. He gave me an idea of cost and invited me to bring the lamp in. Not only did he take a look at the lamp while I waited, I was delighted to learn he was able to fix the lamp right then and there; charging FAR less than the cost of a new lamp. I would certainly recommend for excellent customer service and prices. Thank you for the repaired lamp!

This store is the OZ of lighting. Jam packed and options glowing from every inch of the walls and ceilings. Tammy and her side kick are a joy and so very creative and wonderful to work with. Its a gotta go if you are looking for something different and special.

I had the BEST experience here. I came in with a broken lamp socket and they not only fixed it on the spot, they found the exact shade I wanted. They also dug up all the milk glass lamps they had for me to check out, all beautiful, and offered to switch out any of the parts for no additional charge. The service was friendly and skilled, the lamps were unique, beautiful, and affordabl, and the experience went above and beyond. This place is why we need small businesses and why we should continue to support them over the big guys. You never would get this experience at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Go check em out!

I visited Tap Lighting just before Christmas to grab a gift for a friend. My friend loves the look of old-fashioned Edison light bulbs and is very picky with her design preferences.Stepping into Tap Lighting is magical - there are so many different types of lights and light fixtures everywhere. They range from simple to incredibly unique. Those working in the store were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They seemed VERY knowledgeable about lights. Not only did they help me find the exact design I was looking for, they made alterations to it at no extra cost to help make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. Plus, they knew it was a Christmas gift and packed it in a gift bag as well! With their sale at the time, the low price exceeded my expectations! Overall, Im incredibly satisfied with the kindness I was greeted with and the help I received.

Received a set of lamps I ordered on amazon, one wasn’t working and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of the returns process and waiting to get a replacement. We had a great experience shopping at Tap Lighting for exterior lights for our new house. Tammy and her team did a wonderful job finding the lights for us base on our Specifications and budget. We were able to find quality products that are unique, not like cookie cutter styles at Home Depot. The best thing is even with shipping, the price is still cheaper than regular hardware stores.

This is THE place! I was in today and Cort fixed my electric touch on/off magnifying mirror! They still do fix things if they can. And he fixed it on the spot as I waited; no extra trip. Other people hemmed and hawed but didnt have a clue. Cort knew right away it was the dimmer and replaced it. I was so happy that I went in there. It will be my first place to call from now on.

Such a beautiful little house with thousands of lights. A little overwhelming but if you zone in youll find the perfect light. Owner is really helpful and sweet too.

They definitely have some high end, one of a kind lighting fixtures. The prices are kind of high, but then again you are not going to find any other place in San Diego that has the same lighting. I really like this place a lot, very unique and fun to look around.

Tap Lighting restrung my lamp for a reasonable price. Lamp works fine now. They called me in less than one day after I dropped it off, telling me it was ready on a phone message. When I arrived to pick up the lamp, I realized Id left my wallet at work in Point Loma. They let me take the lamp mentioning I could send them a check in the mail. I would not have expected them to offer for me to take the lamp unpaid, but it saved me a trip not having to go there again, and I appreciated that. Helpful and friendly people there. Reserved parking available too -- a blessing in Hillcrest. Trust and good Karma in both directions. Im dropping off a check in the mail to them tonight, right after I post this 5 star review.

This should be everyones go to place for unique lighting fixtures; in fact, I dont think theres anything quite like it anywhere around. The best selection of one of a kind lights and fixtures from around the world. Fun to just see whats out there. To make a room pop, sometimes a special light fixture will do the trick. Helpful, knowledgable staff on hand to guide you and answer questions.

No reply.When I called inquiring about vintage products, Ive been told by two different, very friendly employees to email a picture to your aol address. I did. Twice. No reply.If youre not going to reply to emails, tell your staff to stop referring people to it.Ive found what I needed elsewhere both times. I dont know if Ill try Tap a third.

We have bought ceiling rail lighting systems and other light fixtures from Tammy since 2005 and received excellent, personalized service even with substitutions when what we ordered did not work out as well as we had hoped.

I needed lighting over our dining table and went to all the high-end lighting stores looking for lights that would be elegant, yet comfortable, and artsy but not gaudy. I couldnt find what I wanted anywhere. My mom lives near this store so I stopped in on a whim, not really expecting them to have something as modern and special as what I was looking for. They had a huge selection and I saw something right away that was better than anything else Id seen. A salesperson came and showed me the whole book of options that were like those and even came to my home to make sure that they would work with the special ceiling issues I had there. The lights came in and were installed about two years ago and Im still thrilled with them. Not only does this store have an amazing selection of lighting fixtures, the experienced salespeople also spend time with you to help you make a decision that you will be happy with. I would never buy lighting again without checking with them.

Didnt find what I was looking for, but the staff was helpful and friendly. Worth a trip just to take a look at the thousands of fixtures stuffed all over the classic house. As of 2/1/2019 they DONT do repairs anymore.
