Good place, friendly staff and decent prices. A fun spot
A Super underrated spot for the casual or hardcore tcg player. While they are more geared towards Magic the gathering the staff had great insight and knowledge on other tcg series. Prices for tcg items/series are fair probably the best around! With pokémon and yugioh being scalped out of pricing from what it normally costs at retail you will find good stuff here!
Tons of geekery.. magic dnd manga ect..
Great deals and amazing staff. Always a great place to find a draft or someone to play with
I previously visited this place for the 1st time a while back for a Hearthstone tournament (which was an amazing event, wish there were more!).I stopped by again this past weekend after not having not played Magic for nearly 10 years. Came in with all the cards I still have and spoke with Bruce. He was extremely patient and insightful with me (listened to all my noobish questions) and recommended a deck I should start pursuing based on the cards I currently own. They have a great selection of single cards as well as a bunch of other MTG products and collectibles. Will definitely be coming by again for the modern format tournaments on Thursday/Friday nights!
Awesome selection of mtg singles, new and old stock, very helpful and knowledgeable staff, inviting feel to the place. Kinda hard to find? Maybe Im mistaken but theres not a large visible sign like other businesses in the plaza, but its exactly there if you follow the directions from google
Great prices on pokemon cardsBooster packs at $4ea or 3 for $10 andEtbs at the $40 msrp parking was a little ruff but thats the only negative
Best card store Ive been to lowest prices on pokemon packs chilling reign and battle styles, not much pokemon mostly magic but this store is a gem you can not beat these prices on single packs, no 1 pack limit like Walmart, trust me magic or just lookin for pokemon cards go check em out
Need to update store hours. Drove all the way from Adkins Texas just to find out they are closed
Great store. Friendly staff .
First off ... Love the name ... If your into CCGs, RPGs, or fantasy board games, this is the place for you ... But I have to emphasize that Magic the Gathering is what youll find the most if in here ... I would say that 80% of the display cases hold MtG cards ... The prices here are unbelievably reasonable and the guys here know what the game is truly about ... So if your looking for that particular rare i suggest trying them. They also follow strict health guidelines here
Helped when I was really down and out! Great service
Face mask required, won’t get a penny from me.
Great place to go to get Magic the Gathering products, especially if youre a tournament player. The staff is friendly and helpful and the store is kept exceptionally clean.
I love coming here. They always have just what I need and if they dont they will try and find it for me. I enjoy how welcoming they are of me there
Great location, well stocked, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff make this place more than a store. Lots of space to get together and play with friends and plenty of events of all kinds. Staff welcomes you like an old family friend you havent seen in 20 years.
Cool people, love this card shop.
Great selection of product and great hours for playing. The crowd here plays a lot of Modern, with some Standard and a little Commander play as well. The staff are all great people, both to talk to and to help you. Prices on singles are reasonable and their selection is excellent, but bring a list of what you want when buying them. Crowd is friendly, but I play Commander exclusively so this is not my preferred scene.
First off, in the middle of COVID, I just wanted to get sleeves and boxes, maybe a few prebuilts for MTG. Yes, I’m new to this world, yes I have questions, and yes, I have concerns about my safety and the safety of my wife. We first walk in and they check our temperature, I appreciate it tremendously as it’s the first place that has done this. But then, I get sassed when I ask how much a card goes for. Because it’s a $180, I was met with sass. Bro. I’ve spent more on a bottle of wine. A customer comes in, and because he’s a friend, he has no mask on. He’s in the shop for 15 minutes, talking to the staff -who is half helping at this point- before they even tell him to please put it on. I get my things and I split. Most likely won’t be back, but totally love this storage box.
Really enjoy this place, especially during the weekends/evening hours playing Magic(Commander play format) I also like the staff who are very friendly but yet professional to boot, and their selection of cards is fantastic and acceptable. What really drew me into this place is that it is a smaller, more intimate place to play, as opposed to more spacious gaming stores, I also like that sometimes you can hear a pin drop and people, and observe people playing intently, and still have a great time.
Friendly employees and locals are welcoming,
Great place to meet up for card games, tabletop games and pc gaming!! This places sells snacks as well as being close to other restaurants and convenient stores. Parking is somewhat limited by the entrance but there is more on the side.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff
Best prices on singles you will find in the area. The top competitors tend to greatly over price their cards. These guys give a fair price and a great atmosphere to play magic in.
Excellent trade in experience. I went there with looking to trade some Magic: The Gathering cards for a fair price. I spoke with Baldwin there, who was incredibly friendly and gave me a fair trade for some Pokemon TCG cards. He even threw in a few free sleeves as a thank you, which was superb. While the selection for Pokemon specifically was small, the store was still stocked with plenty of Magic cards, which makes it a great place to go for packs and singles.Overall, one of the best shops in town to go to. Its got a very friendly atmosphere and great service. Ill be going back for trade-ins in the future without a doubt.
Great place to play magic and lots of events going on. Friendly staff and groups. I often play commander here on the weekends. The only downside is that singles and product often have a significant markup, especially on the higher end of singles, can often be $20+ over online.
My boyfriend and I were in town for PAX, and on our last day we found this little gem and decided to check it out (my bf is REALLY into magic). The atmosphere was so chill, the guy working at the time was one of the nicest people Ive ever met, and we didnt want to leave. Even if youre like me and you arent into magic, it seems like a super fun place to just hang out. I wish I could rate it 10/5. If we are ever in San Antonio again, we will most definitely be spending more time here!
Got exactly what I was looking for, for a great price. Also, a great place to start playing in tournaments!
Gamerz pair a dice is the best store in San Antonio for magic the gathering. Theyre competitive and have a decent card selection. They have decent prices for their cards as opposed to other stores in town who will either rip you off, treat you poorly, or just dont have good inventory. If you enjoy Magic the gathering this is the place to go.
Mark is running a great shop here. Lots of fun games going on usually. Great customer service. Would recommend to anyone 100%
This is the place to be if you are into competitive Magic, stronger players than even the better known place up the I-35 corridor in Austin. It has a friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices for singles. They have free relaxed tournaments on Tuesdays and Thursdays with staff that have played the game well and understand the needs of the players.
These guys are awesome. Have a card in mind and they will try their hardest to find it for you. Often i get a choice on the set and or quality of the card getting a discount. They donate to local school children so they can get into the game as well. Vast table space to randomly pop in for a game...during operating hours of course.
Commander players are welcome!! Come all youll have fun, Fridays are unofficially commander night. Only one one may stand!!
While my own opinion may be biased because of my adoration for the place, I cannot say enough about this Local Game Store that primarily focuses on Magic: The Gathering, a trading card game and passion shared by many in San Antonio. Whether it is hosting events for newer players, continuing to foster a sense of wonder by doing so- or offering prize support for events to keep people coming back to the store, or just through the sheer force of personality that the owners all have; Gamerz is a staple of San Antonio, without it- there would be so many who would be unable to enjoy a variety of hobbies, and if you are looking to play board games, computer games, or participate in other trading card games or shop for some gifts for your nerdy family member/significant other, Gamerz is more than happy to help.
Very good place to have a good time. Of course you will see a wide range of MTG players and regulars to the store. I went there for the first time a few weeks back on my day off. It was great. Would recommend to people who love magic and new players who would love to learn.
Really great place to play, level of players is high. They have great free tournaments on Thursday (Modern) and Tuesdays (Standard). The only place in San Antonio to have Legacy tournaments on Wednesdays also! Prices are very good and fair with no ridiculous mark ups that can be found at other stores. A definite recommend.
I attended an UnStable sealed deck event at the shop, and my experience was fantastic. The employees were courteous and asked about my progress between rounds, my opponents were very respectful and polite, and the shop had a fun atmosphere. I will definitely be back to play in future events!
As always, perfect experience. Guys there are so knowledgeable and friendly. Im always looking for a reason to go back.
Never a dull moment! There is always something going on. The owners are friendly & approachable. Merchandise is a good price & a wide selection. Awesome environment.
This place knows how to take care of Their customers. I left a deck overnight, and they happily tracked it down for me with the camras. They run tournaments on most days, so even one random Tuesday you can play pauper. Best place, best prices, with the best location.
Great place to play magic! Wednesday night for Legacy was fun and relaxed. Fridays for modern are a bit more competitive. Great selection of singles and competitive prices!! And a military discount!!!
Great place to hang and play. Nice selection of board games available, regulars that play magic, and computers for rent.
If Magic the Gathering is your game then this is the place for you. Plenty of open table space to get your game on. Good magic selection, not much else. Saw some monitors looked like for lan gaming. Also a console station. Will have to spend more time here and see what the people are like.
I appreciate how strict they are with the pandemic policies. Staff is friendly, even got a free MTG card with my purchase. Looking forward to the future events
Fun and friendly atmosphere. The best Magic players in San Antonio typically choose to come here (Im not necessarily saying Im one of those); theres always lots of people present, so you dont ever have to worry about events not firing.Ive been going here for months in a row and will continue to do so.
Went in here to buy a deck of singles, I stood at the counter for more than 5 mins but the clerk was only watching magic the gathering YouTube videos and would not even acknowledge my presence. Verbally said screw this and started walking out, clerk did not turn around or stop watching his video.
Can you tell my husband to come home? Lol jk staff treats everyone very well. Definitely a great place to game.
They have Magic: The Gathering cards and tables to play with friends. Also a couple gaming computers you can rent. Smelled awful and there really was nothing else there to do or buy.
Long time customer great place good times stop on by
This place was so friendly and welcoming, Im about a week or 2 into playing Magic. I come here with my friend, great place, great prices, very clean, even snacks. The players are pretty cool towards noobs as well a guy gave me a bunch of sleeves free, they sell alot of singles too
I visited to pick up a list of specific and obscure cards, (and a Sol ring). I was honestly surprised with how many of the cards I was able to pick up at this location. They have a wonderful selection of Magic cards.
Played Riddle School Game on riddleschoolgamecom level 65 until my eyes bled. This song gives me ptsd.
This is the place to come if you want to play competitive Magic in Modern, Standard, and even Pauper. If you love these formats and want to play the best talent in the city then this is your spot.
I go here every week nice owners and feels relaxed super fun
One of the best stores for competitive magic play in the San Antonio area. Friendly and knowledgable staff are always willing to help with your searches or brews no matter how big or small. A staple of the MTG community.
Fantastic place for Magic the Gathering. Large selection of modern and standard staples, and an abundance of playing space.
People are very nice there. Things are a little expensive. I was buying a gift for a friend. Overall a good experience and the price difference was better than waiting on shipping.
Great shop. Friendly, helpful staff. Huge gaming space.
This is THE place to play Magic:The Gathering in San Antonio. Great selection, awesome staff, competitive players. Also has video and board games, as well as a mini Internet café. This place is the best.
Great location, decent selection, acceptable staff, clientele very hit or miss.
Best environment for gaming I have seen since moving to Texas from the east coast.great staff that has a real grasp on the games they sell
This is definitely one of the best places to play Magic the Gathering in town. They have a great collection of singles to purchase and the staff is top notch!
Friendly place and fair prices, very high level of competition in tournaments. Great place
If you want to play Magic in San Antonio, then Gamerz is the place. The store itself is spacious and clean. It also has a clean bathroom, a water fountain (!), and a friendly atmosphere. The staff is respectful and the patrons (thankfully) do not form the exclusive cliques that are so common in other card shops. Their facebook sends out daily reminders, so I never have to wonder what is happening on Saturday or when the Modern FNM starts relative to Standard.Gamerz is best-known for its Magic scene. The quality of players is the highest in the city - and its not even close! This is the place to polish your game to prepare for PPTQs, Opens, and GPs.The singles collection is very large and encompasses every format. The prices are fair and the staff has worked with me when I found much cheaper prices on tcgplayer or ebay. Not a competitive player? Thats fine! Theres plenty of casual players in every event. Theres usually 1-2 active EDH pods.Gamerz hosts well-attended weeknight events from Tuesday-Thursday. Its the only shop in the city that regularly runs Legacy (Wednesdays), and it is rarely cancelled due to low attendance! They also host FREE tournaments on Thursdays (Modern) and Sundays (Standard); the Modern tournament has 25+ players every week! The free tournaments even offer prize support! You wont get better value anywhere else in the city!
Great place to get your nerd wares, for FNM and tournaments.
This is my go-to LGS in San Antonio ! Has an amazing selection of singles and some of the best players in town.
Great selection, friendly staff. Only downside is that it gets pretty loud
Easily the best shop in San Antonio for any trading card game, especially Magic.
Good place to play TCGs. Have lots of product and events with nice prize support.
10/10 best place to go with friends and have a good time.
They let us play fighting games its nice and welcoming
The place to go for Magic the Gathering games, cards, accessories. Also other RPGs. They have computers for the customers. A lot of tables to play at.
Great place for all things Magic the Gathering.
Great place to play magic TCG employees are friendly and helpful
Great store with friendly gamers and staff military and veteran friendly as well
Cool place too many magic players though 😂
Great staff, fun events, best place to play in town.
Great environment and fair pricing, just a good experience overall.
The parking here is horrendous and then they cant even be open on time. It took us time to park and then we had to walk just for them to not be open at noon like they are supposed to be. Cant say anything about selection since we didnt go in.
Great staff and loads of product!
Pretty awesomw with a friendly staff
Friendly and accomodating game store.
