Cute little place to have brunch. The French toast was perfect they did a whip and butter combo thing that tasted so good. That I didn’t even need syrup. Pancakes were super fluffy & the lemonade especially the wild raspberry hibiscus strawberry lemonade was so refreshing. 10/10

The staff are so friendly!! They are amazing and sweet! The food is okay. I would almost describe it as a mom and pop convenient store. The avocado in my brisket taco was more like a store bought guac spread. I could taste that it was prepackaged guacamole.... avocado would have been better. The atmosphere almost brings down the quality of the experience-- none of the tables were being cleaned during the whole time we were there, ours was dirty when we sat down but there was no other choice. You can come in wearing anything, from workout clothes to jeans-- if we are biking around downtown, I would stop in for a quick bite or coffee kind of place.

Nice venue location. Cute atmosphere for breakfast, but it was not clean, and the wait staff wasnt pleasant. I ordered the french toast which has some areas in the toast that still contained some raw egg. May be a turn off for some people. What was a turn of for me was the hair at the bottom of the dish. My daughter ordered a power egg breakfast. She didnt care for it. My wife ordered eggs over medium and fruit. It was bland with a garnish of greens a that was bigger than some restraunts side salad. We ordered coffees and the waiter forgot them. Although listed as groumet coffee it was brewed very strong. All in all not a recommendation.

Very cool spot hidden right off of the riverwalk path. We walked in and were greeted with the most amazing smiles. Very friendly staff and the amazing breakfast. Prices are not crazy and typical what you would pay in a hometown cafe. Food was priced lower and 1000 times better that our Hotel restaurant located very close by. The pancakes were perfect.. We will definitely return here on our next trip to San Antonio.

Wonderful and very friendly staff!! The cashier was killing it, she was so on top of it and was doing 5 things at once. The other employees were nice but they were kind of just standing around looking lost, I almost felt bad for the cashier. My boyfriend and I did come on a Sunday around 11am-12pm so it was busy which was expected for a Sunday!! The food came out probably not even 10 minutes after we sat down. It was very good and tasty, and the chai latte was great, very good for a cool Sunday morning 😊

Tell you they have an item, then after paying they change to oops dont have that. Didnt have change so was forced to give a tip to the cashier! Gratuity is for exceptional service not for poor planning on your part.

Over rated. Crowded. People standing over you while eating inside. I ordered pecan pancakes that were under cooked. The eggs were an after thought. After I told them I had ordered eggs. Paid a pretty penny. Had 2 bites of the pancakes.

While visiting San Antonio last week, we decided to go to La Villita Historic Arts Village to look around. We hoped we could get breakfast there, and we were fortunate to find La Villita Cafe. Very friendly staff, patient and helpful. We each ordered a type of breakfast burrito, which was outstanding, and quite filling, and came with crispy potato bites I loved. And I dont usually eat accompanying potatoes, believing they are not worth the calories. But these definitely were! My son who was with me noticed that they had a great mix of Taps, for all of you craft beer drinkers. We were there too early to try, but he felt they had one of the best choices of taps he had seen anywhere in the city so far. Thank you La Villita Cafe.

Food took about 30 minutes to receive after ordering. Upon receiving our food, it was cold!! We didn’t complain only because we didn’t want to have to wait another 30 minutes for replacement food. The mimosa wasn’t all that great. The pancakes were delicious as well as the sausage.

Took our kids here twice while staying in a nearby hotel and it was great. We got our kids two of the pancake plates to split the first time and they were delicious. They are nice and thick and super tasty. It was just a bit too much pancake to split between them so when we went back the next day I asked if there was any way to do three pancakes and they made it happen and put one on each plate even though it isn’t that way on the menu. They were very accommodating and super friendly. The bacon was also delicious and perfectly cooked. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are downtown.

Terrible is an understatement they have no control if they gave you your drinks or not. They forgot our coffee and tea also the portions are pretty small. Theres no refills on sodas when we asked the African American waitress. Food was ok but we will definitely not return

Can I give this place zero stars? I dont care how good their tacos are, their staff is obnoxious and unwelcoming. I dont see how the staff could pride themselves on customer service when it is so obviously absent. We were in San Antonio for a family trip and someone recommended this place. We attempted to get breakfast, but the line was long and I was told while in line that it would be a 45 minute wait for food once we did order, so we made a plan to return later in the day prior to 6pm as the operating hours posted on the VERY VISIBLE sign on the door were 8am to 6pm. As we were walking back to LaVillita the sky opened up and it began to POUR. We took shelter to allow the heaviest of rain to pass and then we continued to trudge through the rain and flooded streets arriving at LaVillita about five minutes before 5pm, soaked and hungry. The staff were already putting chairs on tables and looked at me and said, were closed. Yeah, not a good ending to a soggy trip in San Antonio. Even if I should ever return to San Antonio, I will never, ever recommend or seek out a morsel from this place. I will not spend my money where I am not welcomed. I love to eat and spend local, but this place has lost any future opportunity with me.

The restaurant was really nice and the food is delicious, the alamo breakfast was delicious and so is the other egg dishes. The owner was very nice and accommodated and gave good recommendations. Would visit again.

This Cafe was amazing! Food and mimosas were great and the service was the best Ive ever had at any restaurant. Icing on the cake is they are very pet friendly🐕. Thank you to all the staff for being friendly and for making us feel very comfortable. Will definitely be back!!

We went for a breakfast. This place looks cheap but it is actually expensive for what you get.2 regular breakfasts + 1 breakfast +2 coffees for $44 !!! And these are served in paper plates with plastic cutlery! Really ? They charge like a restaurant but service is nothing more than a fast food.Food is good but nothing to remember. The coffee is basically the only think we really enjoyed.

The delicious food is the only reason for the rating. Other than that, this restaurant lacks organization and structure. Unless youre sitting inside and can hear your named called your order will be left behind. We waited for over a half an hour for our food (4 tacos and pancakes) other couples whom ordered after us, already received their orders. Sure there are instances that can create a delay for an order. But when we had to address the staff about the whereabouts of our order. It was about to come out. And it did. But we were missing half our order and additional items requested for the meal. The staff was sassy with us about our inquiry about or order and the issues we brought forth.

The place is beautiful, the atmosphere is wonderful. Historically awesome and I would say a cozy place to drink and good cup of coffee and talk with your friends or loved ones. The food, however, was a bit disappointing. The Alamo Benedict sounded really good, and when it came out it looked so delicious!! The disappointment was the lack of zing and the brisket was dry. The food was bland, and if they were to work on seasoning this would be more than worth 5 stars.

I had brunch here with the family. I regret not taking any photos, we were pretty “hanry” and ate everything as soon as we got it placed in front of us. We ordered a variety of different plates. For the most part it was good no major complaints. Nothing out of the ordinary their breakfast tacos are pretty good. The staff is super friendly. The restaurant is pretty clean.

Agree with one of the reviewer. Staffs are great. The food is OK.I had the omelette plate. My wife had the avocado and egg on the toast. The ingredients were fresh but no taste. Since the ingredients in US typically lack of their own taste in compare to those grown in Europe. Therefore most cooking in US heavily rely on good sauce and seasoning. Some common Mexican sausa could easily change that here. But the homemade sausa is neither spicy nor salty.Maybe the owner or chef are from or influenced by the region of Mexico where food are not spicy. They make their own. It is a good sign of homemade cooking style I like and It is certainly healthy eating. But would taste better to add some salt to their cooking and sausa.

We came in on a busy afternoon and while the place was busy, the staff were super nice and even made us some free drinks while we waited. The cafe is surrounded by fun little shops that are struggling with a COVID-cause downturn in tourism but has cool stuff and interesting owners to chat with.The pancakes were the right balance of fluff and substance, and the fruit was a perfect offset to a savory take on eggs Benedict. Brisket instead of ham, Texas toast instead of an English muffin, and salsa instead of hollandaise. Yum!

The atmosphere here is awesome. My wife and I ate outside on the deck and had a great time. Very friendly staff and the food was very good and not expensive. My only thing would be the wait time. The line is literally out the door and they dont have enough seating for everyone. So as youre in line youre scoping out whos almost finished eating so you can jump their table lol. We stood in line for about 30 minutes and it took almost another good hour before we got our food. But again the food was delicious

Ordered the simplest item on the menu, potato & egg taco... a slap of egg maybe the equivalent of half 2 pieces of potato on a cold flour Tortilla. Bf ordered omelet with brisket, no brisket on the omelet even though we were charged extra. Mind you no customers and fully staffed. Disappointed. Skip this place honestly youre not missing out.

This place was a great place to grab a healthy lunch. I loved the Chicken Salad on a Crousant and my coworker loved the salad. Its one of the BEST and Healthy places to grab a Heslthy lunch. Im certainly will recommend this place to Everyone I know.

The staff is so polite and the food is delightful. I had the chicken salad salad with fruit and cucumber. It was the right choice for a sunny day. Wish they had an ice machine and larger water cups but overall we truly enjoyed the experience!

Ill start be saying service was friendly, warm,and welcoming. I had a iced chai latte that tasted like straight milk that a tea bag walked through. The breakfast burrito was full of very liquidy beans, very little egg, and I couldnt really taste the chorizo. Definitely not worth the $25 spent ...the tip was worth it for the staff though!

I was in San Antonio for a conference and decided to meet and old friend for Breakfast. I searched for a good restaurant and La Villita Cafe sound like what I was looking for, something with a little local flair. I was not disappointed.I what greeted a friendly worker that was cleaning out front. Then by the owner where I was given a little history. The Alamo Benedict was suggested and it was awesome, I substituted the bacon for brisket. Delicious!!Two things that some may have an issue with but I did not is that you order from the counter and coffee is a dollar for a refilled. Luckily I had had 3 cups of java before I got there. I highly recommend this place.

Came to the cafe for some food as i was told by my hotel to stop in and was met with kat who was super helpful and friendly she answered all my questions and really helped me make decisions for the large family i was feeding. the food was excellent i had the french toast plate which she recommended and i absolutely loved it !! Breakfast tacos were good. I had Bacon & Egg, Brisket & Egg, and Chorizo & Egg, which I would rank in that order. I also had one of their freshly baked Banana Nut Muffins. Delicious. I was also impressed by their coffee.Super busy all (or most) of the time, which makes for long wait times. The craziness of the restaurant is avoidable by sitting outside once you place your order.The staff is incredibly nice. A very playful and light-hearted attitude from behind the counter that translates into a great laid back experience.

My friend and I stopped in for breakfast before work on a Saturday, and we are IN LOVE with this sweet, little cafe. The service is phenomenal (shoutout to Ernest), the owner (Barry) was funny and kind, and so hospitable. Last but not least, Pedro made us some delicious Valentine’s Day pancakes! DO NOT MISS THIS CAFE!

The only reason for 1 star was due to the food being good. But never been to a restaurant with very poor coordination and lack of organization. My order didnt come out together. They first served me my side of pancakes, had to ask them about my main entrees, and missing my sides. My boyfriend asked for a large latte and only got a small one. When we brought it to their attention, they just poured it into a larger cup, and just added milk. About 4 more tables had issues with their order. I love to support local, but do not come here. It was very expensive and not worth it at all. Money and especially time was wasted coming here.

Just avoid at all costs. The breakfast tacos are just a single scrambled egg with a single piece of bacon, with absolutely no flavor. They have a pick 6 breakfast tacos but you can only choose two kinds of tacos. So I’m reality it’s a pick 2. Oh and did I mention that it took 40 minutes for my order of 6 tacos to come out? The worker didn’t put my order into the kitchen. I had to ask about my order twice with no one giving me an update either time I asked. When my food finally came out there was no apology. They also don’t have tap water, so you have to buy a drink. The only good thing about this place is that the owner put his name and number on the wall.

Food is mediocre. Very Americanized food with a Mexican twist. The food was not seasoned properly or flavorful. Chorizo is not cooked well.

Nice location, ok food, hostess was friendly. But they just forgot to submit our order to the kitchen and when after 40 min of waiting I went inside and talked to them, they re-sent it without an apology. Yet, instead of getting priority, it went all the way to the back of the line and it took about 1 hr 20 min to get some eggs and panckes and it wasnt even a busy day. Normally I would not stress out about it. But my 3 little kids had a meltdown and also upset that we were now also late to a birthday party.

The tacos are delicious! Our ticket fell of the ticket machine and the person in charge did their best to get our order right. It just took a really long time! But definitely worth it. I came here because breakfast tacos could also have a side of fresh fruit and the fresh fruit was fantastic as desert after eating the taco. It would be unlikely for me to go back there (it didn’t kill me or became a place I’d love to go again) but its a cute place to order food, stroll around, and then sit down and get your food.

They make one mean cup of coffee, seriously one of the best cup Ive had, and I drink a lot of coffee.Its also worth mentioning the staff has been exceptionally kind and helpful.The meal was very good, a solid 4 start omlett but the service and coffee easily push this place to 5 starts.

Went with my kids on a Sunday morning and it was super packed but we had Brandi assist us and she was awesome! Brandi was great with my kids, brought out out food, and checked on us every few minutes. She made the wait definitely worth the time!

First time here not what I expected long line for a cold breakfast my eggs had green on it not sure what it was ranch style beans refried, frozen potatoes not home made and the pancakes cold only thing good was raspberry lemonade last thing over priced for not home made not coming back

I ate here for the first time this weekend and was really impressed! The chicken salad sammie was so tasty, and my husband also liked the brisket wrap he ordered. They have a nice selection of local craft beers, and the atmosphere is cute and comfortable. Great place for lunch.

This place is to expensive for not having authentic Mexican food and food the Santana ranchero plate it made out of boxed egg whites the beans are from cans and the potatoes are frozen thats to expensive for being lazy food McDonalds its better than this what a shame for this place I think it should be better than this for a historic place being an SanAntonio.
