I love their barbacoa! Have gone to several other places, but this one is so good, moist and not too greasy, the homemade tortillas are so good, I love their specials! You get corn & flour tortillas, a ltr soda, and some hot sauce! Yummy 😋! Oh, almost forgot, a small container of refried beans!!

I cannot express how happy I am with the service from all the meat department. Every time I go it is excellent when it comes to taking care of customers. HOWEVER, I am giving this a 2 star because I went to get some of their flour tortillas. I asked the ladies if I could get a big pack that come in like 5 dozens. She told me that I couldn’t get one because they were only for sale to restaurants. As I stood in line another lady asked for hers and the worker in that department said “I will given them to you over here because they want some too.” Really.... so she gave that lady some and not me!!!! Definitely discriminating and totally unprofessional. If you are gonna have those protocols to follow then do then all across the board and not to whom ever you want. Follow them along with everyone. Very disappointed!!! That lady should not decide who to give em to.

There were flies all area the meat area and very hot in the store, now I know why I stopped shopping there.

Went for the pan dulce, conchas and churros are great.

The pastries were dry and hard, the staff wasnt very helpful, the selection of carnitas were mostly fat. About half the meat looked old and was turning a dark color, which was not surprising cause the times Ive been there the place is empty. Produce looked very good and fresh. I wanted queso fresco but didnt know which to pick, their brand or another. When I asked for a small sample to decide, the guy wouldnt give me any saying he could get in trouble. Ok, fine.... I tell him give me a pound and a half and he gives me 1.2lbs. I ask him to add a piece and he tells me hes not allowed cause they are precut and can only give me an entire piece or leave it alone. Seriously! Glad I only got the 1.2lbs, the cheese was salty. Wont be going back.

The breakfast tacos were amazing! I also had the steak fajita taco, which was also tasty. I would have eaten many of the potato & egg breakfast tacos if I could have. The tortillas were freshly prepared in the store and made the experience even better.My mother-in-law had a quesadilla and said it had a lot of cheese, a lot of meat, and a lot of flavor. She also had the torta, which was a little dry, but still tasted delicious.I would definitely recommend this little eatery inside the meat market to anyone who loves authentic hispanic food.

Place is alright the only problem was that I saw a fly in the napkins and people use those napkins thats gross but other than that its ok

Bought some sweet bread and it was to hard, like it had been done 4 or 5 days ago. Wrong price quoted by phone, had to pay more at the store.

Quick and fast

Disappointed with checkout lanes, not the first time cashier experiences problem with payment processing and we all had to get out of line to now line up after others in other line.. then checker charged me for other items in similar price range as my items, so today I was overcharged $2.99..and the time before I was overcharged $4.98.. hopefully someone from Culebra Meat Market will reach out to me to correct these charges, if not.. there are plenty of other name meat markets and stores to shop.. I make an effort to patronize small businesses but there are other options for me if I dont hear back.. Ill post a follow up if I get a response...

Not enough cashiers

Went early to get our barbacoa special and pan dulce.They are doing well with social distancing in their dine in area. The store was very clean and sanitized.Go get your Sunday morning barbacoa!

I find this store to be super clean! The ready food is delicious! Right price for lunch or snack. The staff is friendly with smiles and all. I recommend seating at the bar and just watch you food being prepared. Its awesome to watch. Great job guys!!

This place has the best homemade tortillas. Also good prices on bulk meat.

We go there for their freshly made tortillas. The best ones youll find! We went on Sunday evening and they were making them fresh. So we bought 2 piping hot packages... right off the press. Theyll give you a tortilla sample when theyre making them. Theres nothing like a fresh, hot tortilla to put a smile on my kids faces. The only down side to this supermarket is the produce... not as fresh as Id like. Other than that, its a nice place to pick up the occasional item you missed on your regular grocery list... and of course, the tortillas!

Today 8TH JAN Stopped by cause I needed garlic cloves(forgot HEB😉) I decided to try their BKFST Taco.They have a SPCL 3-Taco of same kind for 2.89USD. I decided on a-la-carte. 3 Taco about 3.60USD. Not BAD🤑 I order:Bean&Cheese was Good, but I had better. EGG&Bacon, (Smokey Bacon) 😋 and EGG&Potato, Not Bad. Overall Good Tacos. I gave it a 2 🌟 for the Flour Tortilla, too greasy and didnt feel Hot&Fresh which Im surprise since the Place makes their Tortilla there too. This is a good place to buy produce, Meats, Mexican Cheeses, beer, wine among other.

I pretty much buy my meat exclusively here. Great quality, great prices. The butchers here will get you any cut you want; if the dont know the cut show them a picture and theyll set you up right.

The best place for authentic Mexican food... Saturday and Sunday are my favorite serving beef tongue and beef head meat tacos. Carlos the cook knows the grill well absolutely the best at making breakfast tacos.

Picked up 8lbs of chicken ranchera (fajita) for dinner. Didnt look as they were packaging it, big mistake. I got home, grill was warm, start putting the chicken on the grill, and it was all frozen. Thanks for selling me frozen chicken. Not only could it have gotten my family sick, but there is no way to safely prepare it without over cooking it.

Drove here to get some menudo. This place is normally a good place but today the menudo was salty with too many cubes of fat. We felt we were eating scrap menudo.😠. Other than that its a great place to get meats, sweet bread, produce, groceries, and good tortillas.

In house Mexican style bakery with traditional donuts as well. Also an in house meat and seafood market and Cafe serving traditional Mexican dishes to include caldo, asada, menudo, etc. Regular produce, spices, and pantry basics in the regular market. Nice and convenient!

Sunday breakfast is always a challenge after Saturdays. My wife and I decided to go have barbacoa from the meat market which is alil expensive but worth it but today was not one of those days. After spending almost $30 here the 2 dz tortillas were cold not fully cooked and had too much flour. The salsa that comes with the special was watered down and had no flavor what so ever. Plus the beans were watered down like as if they were running out and tried to stretch it out. Overall not happy with the meal and will not be going back to this market for barbacoa special.

Marina the meat department manager in the restaurant side embrassed me in front of other customers. It was my first time visiting this place so I dont know their rules. I saw some cups by the salsa bar and I decided to get them to fill them with cilantro onion and lemons so I can sit and eat . She grab them from my table took them and said if you want these you need to pay me $2.59 per cup ($7.77 total) in a rude loud voice . I expressed that I didnt know I had to pay for that and thought she was overchagering me . She went on yelling that I should of not grab those cups that the cups cost her and that she now cant put the cilantro lemons and onions back on the bar that Im causing her to waste it . I expressed to her I didnt know and that I would not do it the next time . Then she told me well next time dont come backThats what got me upset : who is she to tell me not to come back, its rude .You can tell she has no respect to customers - when I arrived we were in a line and she yelled to everyone move the line to this side didnt say please or thank you!It seems to me shes been in the company for a while that she feels so comfortable or secure . Owner needs to have a talk to her - she needs to know that because of customers she has her job! Customers should be treated with respect!

Employees rude didnt acknowledge I needed assistances even as I tried to wait at counter at bakery and ask for help...still no help.My baked goods were stale. Prices high for crap quality.By the time I left all I wanted all I was thinking was how screw up Culebra Meat Market is, why did I expect it to be different just because I went to a different location....It is what it is, and you can expect high prices, poor quality/freshness, and uninterested/unhelpful staff.

I shop here often for fresh meat produce great tacos. Went to the restroom and it was nasty dirty water coming out the back of one stahl it needed serious attention.

Favorite place for great barbacoa

Got some marinated steak for a bbq. put them straight on to cook, and they were the saltiest things youll ever put in your mouth. And I got some produce, all went bad the next day and one of them had maggots when I cracked it open. Will NEVER come back here again. Way over priced for crap products and service

Produce section is a joke everything is dead, they try and make it look nice but I dont understand how they just dont care everything is literally 0 quality . And prices are more then HEB . Another thing they always have two people on ONE register when one person is completely capable of doing that job .

Always enjoy culebras..the hispanic atmosphere...the take out food are reasonable prices..andlarge portions..the supermarket is great with all hispanic food you can find in regular super market..the bakery..oh my gosh ..to die for such a variety..the people are very nice..i have a hearing problem and they always bring my food to me because sometimes i dont hear my number..just enjoy them and food

Love their barbacoa special on Saturday and Sunday!Their in store tacos are also very delicious and super cheap. They have a good market going on with lots of Mexican products but they also have usual grocery store products.My favorite thing to do is grab some tacos or the barbacoa special, go across to Shipleys for donuts, and have an excellent breakfast

I was referred to this place because of the variety on taro, Malanga & plantains... ended up that their taro & Malanga werent fresh... all covered of mold, and must of the plantains were rotten. First and last time going to this place...NO more, NO bueno!
