Such a phenomenal book store (slash live music venue) that Ill absolutely be returning to as often as Im able. The owner was such a delight to talk to and I felt very welcomed and comfortable here.

My friend Dorothy and i visits there several times a month. It is unique because of the variety of old albums, art work and memorabilia. My friend loves looking thru the albums for her collection. Store employees are really friendly and knowledgeable about litature and music. ENJOY

This is such a nice place to find used records and books. The owners are amazing people as well. Very friendly and helpful. Had an issue with a record I thought was scratched...brought it in...and they helped clean it up for me.The concerts they hold are pretty great as well. Local and out-of-town acts in a bookstore setting makes for a very fun and unique experience. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Imagine books and records is a bookstore unlike any other in that no matter who you are or what kind of day (or life youve had) you will always be welcomed and greeted with a smile by the friendly staff.Their record selection is one of the grooviest in town and the owner takes great lengths to procure the raddest books ever written.They are an awesome music venu that hosts and promotes numerous local acts.Everyone should check it out at least once!

My appreciation for Imagine and its owner, Don, cant be expressed in words. Its my first stop for records and books in San Antonio and I fervently try to steer as many people as possible to this independent bastion of sounds and words. Imagine also supports the local scene in more ways than one; frequently hosting poetry readings or musical events, its one of the few places in San Antonio that actually cares about cultivating a culture. Incredibly thankful for this outlet!

Although the owners and staff look great, the vinyl selection is extremely limited and overpriced. I wasted time driving there to find nothing, which is why I give them 2 stars.There were vinyls with pockets falling apart priced from $15-25 -- that is just ridiculous. Nothing good and very obscure selection. Do not go here if you are looking for something in specific, because I can assure you that you wont find it.

Best venue in SA purely because of the awesome community behind it and the family who built it. On top of that they’re a solid record store. You find stuff you probably wouldn’t find at bigger places.

Im not someone who goes to imagine regularly but oh god when i go I fall in love every time. the atmosphere is so great, theres always amazing music being played, and the people are some of the most intriguing souls Ive come across. I wish I had the guts to actually start conversations with them. plus imagine regularly hosts great events with amazing artists. this is the book/record store other bookstores wish they were

This place is a gem for people wanting to find hidden goodies. Theres a nice collection of records, a few hundred, and there is a wide range of vintage and used books. The owner is kind, and I feel very welcome here.

Owner and one of the greatest people you will ever meet, Don Hurd will welcome you with a big smile and talk to you like youve known each other for years. With his great knowledge in books, Don will lead you to find what youre looking for and even suggest other books in relation to your topic. Dont forget the huge vinyl collection. A person can spend hours going through a great collection of music. I mention all this because this is my personal experience every time I walk in to Imagine. A place where Ive met interesting people and made new friends. Imagine Books and Records is one of my favorite places to visit and look forward visiting every time.

I loved this store I have to say upfront Google maps GIVES THE WRONG DIRECTIONS it leads you to neighborhood but the bookstore is in culebra crossing shopping center which is on culebra road so it takes you there and then passes it to someones house saying youve arrived when really you passed it besides that I love imagine books and records its not the biggest bookstore but what it lacks in size makes up in feel when I walked in the store I felted different from any other bookstore Ive been to and thats a good thing the staff there was really nice very helpful. This could be just me but I couldnt find alot of books I was looking for but I did like the assortment of books they had all in all I would go again definitely

Everything was great but the price for used books 6 for a used paperback is not a deal. But the place was inviting clean the staff was so nice and I would recommend going there before a regular book store just because of the environment.

Book selection that never disappoints, incredible finds on vinyl, and a knowledgeable and pleasant, always ready to give spot-on suggestions. Really, where else can you walk out with a hardback Salinger, and a 1st pressing Springsteen? Truly the coolest bookstore San Antonio.

Not a huge range like Half Price or Nine Lives. Very tiny shop with a small selection. Cute, though. Decent if youre interested in older editions, rare finds, vintage hardcovers and the like. Somewhat overpriced for the condition theyre in.Okay place to browse for random books - I found an old hardcover of Heinleins Starship Troopers and a paperback of GRRMs Nightflyers. Not the store you want if youre looking for a specific book or series, though. Unless you like Warhammer - for some reason one entire bookshelf was nothing but that, and another half of one was Star Trek novels. Half the store is vinyls, good for music fans. Personally, I wouldnt come back unless they had a specific copy of something I needed.Also- the Google Maps directions are ridiculously wrong. They will take you into a neighborhood past the shopping center. This is in the Culebra shopping center, hidden in a little corner.

Saw some bands play there yesterday it was great! They were friendly and had a good selection of records. Im a jazz fan and saw some django rhinehart, Miles Davis and Nat Alderlly records Id love to have at a reasonable price. Will definitely be going back.
