Came here after another nearby bike shop was closed even though they were supposed to be open til 6…but anyway, we were taken care of right then and there. Needed new pedals, a new seat put on ( I could not remove the old one to save my life and I had bought a new seat at Walmart) and the rear brake cable had popped out. Just charged me for the pedals that we picked out + 5 bucks to put them on!

Today was my first visit to the Blue Star Bike Shop. I came here on a work trip and brought along my bike to help keep my beer gut down while enjoying Texas. Being somewhat new to biking, I was having issues with my rear brake and tired of trying to youtube remedy it. I brought it in and the owner took a look at it and said he could get it fixed up within a few hours as he had multiple other bikes he was in the process of working on. Since I did not need the bike for the rest of the day, I was more than happy to leave it with him.Two hours later he called me and let me know the issue I was having was fixed along with a few other issues that I did not know were going on. He was extremely fair with price and the bike rode so much better.He also took a moment to talk bikes with me and inform me about some sweet options and local trails that I should go check out. It was nice to get some really solid information from a guy, and not once did he try to sell me on any Must have item. This kind of service is what you want in a bike shop. They are knowledgeable - quality - respectful - and truly care about riding and providing the best service possible.If I have any other issues with my bike throughout my 60 days here, I will most certainly be returning! I called regaurding service to a bike i got from walmart, the person who was on the receiving end of the call was joking about how for a bunch if money, he would be able to help me and at first it was appealing but by the end if the call, he may have said it about 15 times, eventually, after the call, I decided to service my bike myself and fixed my issue on my own in less than 5 minutes. Im sure they could have done the same but it was more of the lack of initiative to help me with my issue and more of a money making scheme that was the turn away in this business.

Came into the shop on Saturday and was helped by an incredibly nice mechanic by the name of Klaus. Even though he wouldn’t be able to get to my bike for a whole week he took the time to answer my questions. He was incredibly busy but was still very patient and helpful especially when you consider I wasn’t even customer! Lol. Great shop. Thank you again Klaus.

A great small bike shop I went to for a few years (until a short time ago). They have friendly employees who know what theyre doing and what they need to do their job. They have a nice selection of bikes that fit the vibe of Southtown and work just as well as they look. They do bike repairs quickly, but will have to keep your bike overnight if theyre close to closing and need a few more minutes than closing time allows. Plus, theyll pump your tires for free in moments, just ask.

This place is disappointing overall. At first I was thrilled to find such an eclectic bike shop in such a wonderful location, but I have been disappointed every time I go there.First, considering it is located in the Blue Star Arts Complex; which I liken to Portland, Oregon, I have been disappointed with the way I, and other women, are treated by the staff here. They seem to have forgotten what kind of people frequent the Blue Star area.Second, the service they have done on by bike, and my girlfriends bike left our bikes in no better condition then when we dropped them off for service. On top of that, I really dislike being talked down to or brushed off just because of the way I look or what I am wearing.Third, the products they sell are obviously second rate. I understand that name brand products cost more, and often are no better than the off brand products, but when there is an obvious difference dont try to tell me yours is just as good as the name brand products.Overall, I received far better service and products from the chain bike shops in town, and now I would rather drive to Leon Valley for all my bike needs then try to get decent parts, or service at this store. I give them two stars because the location is super convenient, and in a pinch it would be worth while to stop in to get spare tires if you just need to finish your ride.

I called the store, to check whether or not they sell tires, since the website doesnt provide any information; aside from an about us and location + hours. Id advise them to revamp the information provided to resolve issues like mine for others.The person who picked up the line just repeated a line statement which felt as if the person didnt want to answer, be there working, or was fed up with whatever.Not the type of customer service I was expecting on my first call in to this location, Im a new bike owner, and to be given that kind of attitude is just offputting.

I have been taking my bikes here for a few years now and they do a great job. I like to buy old bikes and get them rideable again. If you are not satisfied with the repair within 30 days, you can take it back and have them work on it again for free.The owner has been in the bicycle trade for many years and it shows. Many places these days don’t care about their reputation or customer relationships, so it is always easy to give money to a business that genuinely appreciates your patronage.

Folks are very helpful, courteous, but best of all HAVE THE GET IT DONE RIGHT! ATTITUDE. On many occasions the folks there provided immediate help, and answered my questions from phone calls.

Extremely helpful and caring staff! Rented bikes for the day and the staff gave great tips and insight. Well priced. Would definitely recommend.

Really helpful and nice guys. Went in for a mirror, they had several to choose from. Prices are good too! Excellent assortment of rentals. Cycling the Mission Trail and around downtown San Antonio is definitely the way to go. One of the most bike friendly cities Ive ever been to.

You would think during this covid crisis these ppl would be happy to be open and have business. Clearly not the case. Was waiting in line behind TWO ppl who had brought their rentals back and the man was like “wow you guys just have to bring your bikes back at the same time huh?” Hostile environment. Both workers seemed upset/overwhelmed to assist customers constantly. I will be letting friends and family know to avoid this place because the workers have no patience or manners.

Poor customer service- $10 to put on a chain that took 5 minutes..and when I asked about greasing my chain or if they sell lube he told me to come back tomorrow to grease my chain... Rude!Seems like they want big money customers and don’t care about customer service if you are not spending a lot. I guess that’s what you get from a bike shop near a touristy area..

I just moved into the area and was excited to find that there was a bike shop right down the street. I rode over and dropped off my bIke to have the shifter adjusted. I was told that it was a simple fix and that the repair would be done by the end of the day or early the next day. As the day passed, plans came up and so I called to see if I should plan on picking up the bike soon or if it would likely be the next day (no big deal either way, just wanted to plan out my day) The guy on the other end responded as if I had insulted him and basically told me it would be done when its done. Two days passed and I went by to check on it and it was sitting out in front of the shop, no lock or cover from the rain, and had not yet been repaired. I asked the guy when it would be done and he said by the end of the day with a look and tone of annoyance. When I came back at the end of the day it had not budged from where it was left. A different guy was in the shop at this point ( he was actually very nice and helpful) and when I told him what was going on he seemed to understand what I was dealing with (I am almost certainly not the first person to have a similar encounter and he seemed to feel bad) and immediately took the bike inside and did the repair. It took less than fifteen minutes.I cant understand how a business can be run this way. I will definitely not return and encourage you to find another shop if you have the means. These people do not deserve your money and certainly dont care about getting your business.

Great Bike Rental Shop on the edge of the Mission Trail. Bikes were great, easy to operate and in tip top shape. The trail was a great ride, lots of stops, lots to see, the Missions were beautiful and well maintained. If youre in San Antonio you Must rent a bike and ride the trail.

Rented a bicycle and Thule child chariot. Both were wonderful, well- maintained, and fun to ride. Staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this company. Thank you for your quality service!

Great service and a large selection of bikes make this a great place to rent a bike for the Mission Trail. Its 9 mile ride to the furthest of the four missions, so try to get there early and pack a lunch if you want to do the whole set. We made it to two of them in four hours. The guys in the shop were friendly and efficient. I highly recommend it.

From out of town with cheap bikes but these guys, who are use to high end bikes, were happy to fix ours and were fair and professional. I highly recommend Blue Star Bike shop.

Super Happy! They solved my back tire issue...and did it for under $25.I always feel comfortable there...they never seem put out because they have walk-in in bicycle repairs.

My friends and I love biking the river trails south of downtown. We love renting bikes here. Friendly staff, great rates, and awesome staff. I highly recommend this establishment.

I haven’t exactly had a bike service here but I rode by while they were closing one day. I had accidentally released almost all the air out of my rear shock.Even though they were closing they let me in and allowed me to borrow a shock pump so I can put some air back into it!!

Not my usual bike shop. Me and the wife were riding the Riverwalk when I had a front tire blowout, this was the closest shop. They swapped out the tire, a good conversation, great attitude, fair price. Will be back if I need anything from them again.

Awesome bike rentals, rented 3 bikes on Saturday morning (get there at 10:00, because they go quick) did the Riverwalk trip from Blue Star to the Zoo...beautiful ride...kills the B-cycle bikes I tried two weeks ago (had to check in to a station every 30 minutes), highly recommend this place for rentals...dropped under $50 for the day for three 7 speed bikes

A flat tire resolved quickly...soon to have military appreciation.

Walked in for a brake handle and cable for a mini bike project and they had everything I needed very helpful and knowledgeable will recommend them.

Brought in my bike to have a tire replaced. Service was good and they fixed two other indentified issues for no extra charge.

Was blown off by this shop on three separate occasions in the laSt month since new mgmt took over. I will NEVER go back. The lack of customer service I have received for some thing as simple as a flat tire and loose chain has been rediculous!!

Worst place to go for timely service, gentlemen took over 45 minutes to change a tube on a tire then when called out answered “ well we have other customers to service & at least it wasent here till tomorrow” 🤦🏽‍♂️ I’m sorry but if your charging $15 to change a tube then I’d like it done in a timely manner rather than assisting a customer that’s “ just browsing”

Bb that i purchased brand new lasted 2 months before i had to buy a whole new crankset and bb, terrible customer service, once i noticed my bb rumbling and clanking while i rode my bike i took it in for them to look at they said yea we will get to it it 2 days fast forward two weeks and i go to pick up my bike, the red grips that i had got for my bike were now faded to a dull pink, my bolts were all gathering rust, THEY JUST KEPT MY BIKE OUT IN THE RAIN FOR A WEEK, and they DID not care to fix my bb, they then tried to charge me 50+ for a tune up that i didnt ask for??! TERRIBLE BIKE SHOP DO NOT RECOMMEND.
