These guys are amazing. I bought a used truck that needed so much work. Mike was super thoughtful and walked me through all the stuff that needed to be done ASAP with a separate list of stuff that he recommended I leave until later so that it wouldnt be such a hit to my wallet all at once. I really felt like the entire shop was looking after my vehicle like it was one of theirs.Ill def keep coming back to this shop.

I found out about this place from my stepmother who lives down the road and worked with a previous business owned by some of the same principals for 15+ years. Ive been using them for several years and have found them to consistently offer excellent service and good advice. They even changed our Prius hybrid battery for a new OEM battery for a good price; thats a rare service and a good price is almost unheard of. Even though they are quite a distance from my house, they are my go-to mechanic. Its such a relief to have a mechanic you can trust who knows their stuff AND does good work AND does it at a good price.

They helped me with my car a couple of months ago and were absolutely wonderful to work with. My car had inexplicably not started when I came out of HEB, with kids on a hot afternoon. Prior to that, the car had been slow to accelerate as well. We eventually got the car to start hours later, but I took it to them a few days after, and the man I worked with listened patiently, even though I felt like it was hard to explain the issue; he took it seriously, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it quickly and for a terrific price. I wouldnt take my car anywhere else, and feel lucky to have found the best mechanic in the area.

Only place i will take my car in SA!Mark Hooked me and the 460 up when all of a sudden it needed some work done when i was 800 miles from home. Diagnosed it properly and pricing was fair too for being so quick!

Okay, let me just say this mechanic shop is AWESOME. I rarely write reviews. They had some good ones so I figured Id add to them because I was really grateful today. I havent been in San Antonio long, but I went to a couple other places and was screwed over. I decided to try this place which is right down the street from me. Super nervous as I always am when trying a new auto place. Thought for sure I was going to have to replace some things as Im going on a long drive soon and have been lucky enough to never have to replace much on my car so far, which I mentioned (and thats not usually the best idea telling people you expect to spend money). But they did my oil change and rotation, inspected my car and called me about an hr later to let me know it was in great shape! Not only that, but as my 3 little kids and I braved this crazy wind to walk back from Target, I initially forgot to put my mask on entering the office which I felt guilty for once I realized, along with the fact that I was supposed to be standing behind the red tape (youd think Id be used to Covid by now). I was a total mess today and they were SO polite. Their office was inviting and clean. I am so happy I have found an honest, friendly mechanic shop. Its a huge relief to find that. I cant give this place enough praise! I took my daughters car in the other day b/c the brakes were squealing. Your Mechanic thoroughly checked the car and called to tell me that the brake pads were in great shape and the squealing was b/c of the type of pad on the car. He indicated that I was no where near having to replace my brakes. Any other place would have taken advantage and charged me for replacing the brakes. I am so thankful to have found a great, honest mechanic that I can rely on. If I could give them more stars, I would. They are also great with Covid protocols and are fast and efficient at repairing vehicles. Thank you, Your Mechanic for providing EXCEPTIONAL service once again!!!

I have been using Your Mechanic for a long time and they are always responsive and very fair. I primarily have Lexus vehicles and they have been excellent with those cars. More recently I have been taking my Suburban and Ford F150 to them with great results. They will give you an honest opinion of what needs to be fixed, what could be fixed and things that can wait before requiring a fix. It is great to feel confident that you are going to get the job done correctly at a fair price.

Far better experience than you get with a the dealership. Staff is always friendly and wants to help you get the best value possible. Prices are very fair and they dont try to fix things that dont need to be fixed. They tell you up front was is and isnt worth the money to fix which is the opposite of what the dealerships do. Highly recommended.

I was amazed by their honesty. Went in get my battery and alternator checked along with a regular service addon. They put in the effort to check every possible issue with the charging system and charged me only for the service addon.

Most people employed by other mechanics work on commission, so they have every incentive to find something wrong, even though there may not be any work needed. Not the case here. When your mechanic discovers he can simultaneously fix your air conditioner, transmission, and check engine light issues with an oil change and then ONLY charges about the cost of the oil change, youve got a trustworthy mechanic! That was not only the most counter-intuitive car fix, but also the best expected-vs-actual cost ratio Ive ever encountered!

This is the only place I will take my vehicles for servicing and repair. They are honest and do quality work. I never worry about the advise they give me. They have a loyal client base that allows them to not worry about getting every nickel out of each visit. On more than one occasion I have been told that a repair is not worth doing, can wait, or can be done in a less expensive way without comprising the integrity of the vehicle.

Came here on a recommendation from a friend. We had been taking our car to another mechanic and we felt that they were not being very honest. Additionally they had messed up our oil pan by either putting the wrong plug back or stripping the pan by over tightening the plug. Enough about the x-mechanic and onto Your Mechanic. Clean welcoming reception every time. They are honest and dont pressure you to do anything you do not need to do. We had a number of issues (one of which was to replace the aforementioned leaking oil pan). Phil laid out the priorities so we could phase out the repairs to help manage our expenses. They are very honest about work times and probably over estimate how long a repair will take to exceed expectations. Make sure you have an appointment because they cannot always take walk-ins. Highly recommend for honest mechanic.

No email, no phone call, no tweet.Shortly after sending an email of complaint -- about 10:45 -- I received a phone call from some woman saying my mechanic wasnt coming. Why was she asking me that question?Then you want to reschedule? she asked.No. I want my brakes fixed.But the mechanic isnt coming, she answered. I have had a great experience working with Your Mechanic. The service is timely and very affordable for my familys limited budget. The folks at Your Mechanic give me the service needed without all the extra up-sell. Unlike the dealership they give you the right price the first time. I wouldnt trust my service with anyone else.

Super fast and reliable. Its really hard to find a really good shop these days. Theyve done work on my wifes 4Runner. Price was spot on. No surprises, just good clean work. If you need to get your vehicle services, they should be at the top of your list to look at.

First appointment was a no show. I had to call to find out what happened and was told that the parts were not available even though we had scheduled a week in advance. We rescheduled for a week in advance only to be told the day before that the mechanic was not available for that time. I finally called to cancel my services and was not even asked if they could make the situation better or if there was anything they could do to keep my service. They just canceled and hung up. Never using this service again.

They treat my 1999 Toyota Corolla as if it was their own. My car has 208,000 miles a d they have saved me thousands of dollars from my previous dealer location. Only fix what needs to be fixed. Customer service is stellar.

These mechanics are the best! Friendly, reasonably priced, really good about getting you a quote for something they notice before they proceed with the work. We have four different makes of cars (VW, Nissan, Mazda and Acura) of varying ages, and they do excellent work on all of them.

How generous and amazing these men were this Christmas week. I have had a hard time with car trouble and when I failed my inspection for the brake light I was just done. Being sick I wasnt in the mood to drive all around town and the inspector couldnt change my fiat light so I just drove up to this shop not knowing they were closed and they kindly opened shop and fixed it for me. Merry Christmas and I hope to use this shop for future car trouble.

Been coming here for years but recently had a really bad experience with the new management. Maybe the owner was having a bad day but she was very rude which I never had experienced with prior ownership. Used to come here for major repairs and always recommended them but I think its time to find a new place.

Do NOT TRUST these guys. They tried to replace my entire clutch pedal assembly @ $985 because the cylinder was damaged. it was a $25 part and it took me, who is not a mechanic, 45 min to replace. none of the housing or other components had any problems it was just the cylinder. thats borderline criminal in my book to replace things that arent broken to make more $

Customer service is good, but the price for parts and labor is too high. They also qouted me on getting my alternator replaced but after talking to different auto shops in the local area, all said that it didnt need to be replaced and it was working as it should. Not sure why your mechanic gave me a qoute on that. Another thing I disliked is that they do not allow you to bring your own parts. Their policy is that their parts come with a 2 yr warranty or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Definitely shop around before coming here.

5 stars for this group. I have had them service my Sequoia and 2 other Lexus/Toyota cars for over 10 years under their Dealer Alternative banner. Now a New Name, but same team. This crew has advised me well over time and has dissuaded me to perform unnecessary maintenance and kept me safe. They have done my Brakes, Radiators, & Ball Joints. Mike, Ronny, and the gang get it done right. I have never had any problems after a repair. They have earned my trust and then some.

I used to get repairs done for my car and my wifes car here for past few years. I will admit that their prices are on the higher side but used to get quality service. My recent experience changed my opinion on this place completely.In 2017 they fixed my cars power steering pump hose by replacing it. Again in 2018 I started noticing the same symptoms that my car makes creeky sound while turning. I took it to them and they said it is another hose leaking and also the power steering pump needs to be replaced, on top of that they said that they need to fix my axles due to the leakage from bootkit I believe. They quoted me close to $1800 for all the work. Since my car being old I told them I dont want to do all those repairs and I would rather replace the car with a new one. fast forward one day...I took my car to another mechanic shop up on my friends recommendation to S&G automative on 1604 and lock-hill selma. They fork lifted my car and showed me what is exactly wrong with my car, they showed me that the power steering clamp for the hose your mechanic replaced is loose and all they need to do is tighten that clamp to fix the leak. They replaced my CV joint boot kit for $650 (labor and parts included). So I saved close to 1200 dollars by going else where.Remember you should always Trust but verify. I am not going to go back to your mechanic any more, they lost my familys business. When I told them that I decided not to fix the car there, I can see the person got upset and charged me $115 for diagnosis (which I did not mind since no bodys time is free but would have been nice if they told me about that charge before).Now my car is running great with out any problems. I highly recommend S&G automotive to any one looking for a transparent and fair priced auto repair shop. Sam and Gio at S&G have been working together for 19 years and I surprised to see people from Fredericksburg etc. to get their repairs done.

I was informed by YM flat out that my alternator was bad and needed to be replaced. Due to time and the necessity of my vehicle, I took it elsewhere to get repaired day of because YM wouldnt have it ready until the following day. Once taken to another mechanic, I was surprised to find out that my alternator was working just fine and all I needed was a new battery. I went from an estimate of $487 for a new alternator that did not need replacing to a mere $185 on what I did need. My initial rating would have been 5 stars had they been honest with me on the diagnosis of my vehicle but it seems YM gets off on attempting to not only verbally insult the intelligence of other businesses but to scam their customers simultaneously. So, Id like to thank my intuition and angels for guiding me out of YMs lack of genuine scrutiny. Good luck to those who trust these guys. Its your money and your call. Follow your gut, that is all. This was my experience and I pray they dont play the rest of their customers for fools.

I got the quote online and the price they were asking was too expensive they were going to charge me 621 for a water pump repair on an old dodge caravan . This is median price range for this type of repair.

Terrible customer service. I made a complaint via email about a service I received and they have not sent me a response. Its been 2 weeks and Ive followed up multiple times. I also scheduled a follow-up visit and the mechanic cancelled an hour before the appointment.
