I had a very good experience. Frank was straight forward with me. I needed a main transmission seal replaced on my car and he told me straight away that if thats what I done, thats all he would do. But, that it may need the torque converter replace as well. Which I had already been told by a couple other mechanics. Frank was very courteous and professional. Prices were really reasonable. The price he quoted me is the price I paid. No surprises. Id recommend him any day.

By far the worst experience Ive had wish a mechanic! The owner was rude, didnt seem to care. Offered to do a bandaid of a job to get me home and wanted to charge me $70 but I got him down to $50 which to me is still to much. The bandaid was to put a small weld on a part that had broken to get me home. Being that I know how to weld I couldve done better with my eyes closed. Wouldnt recommend this place EVER!

Frank helped me when I was in such a pinch! He diagnosed my issue lightning fast and had a part ordered and replaced within 2 hours. I’m a musician and was on tour 15 hours away from home and he had mercy on my situation for sure! When he said I needed another part that wasn’t available in the time frame I needed, he suggested that Austin may have a shop that would carry the parts. The mechanic in Austin completely agreed with the original diagnosis Frank gave me, which assured me that Frank was trustworthy and knowledgeable. I had a previous mechanic tell me I had an intake manifold leak. I took Frank the part and gave him the money and said fix it. 3 minutes later he called me and said theres nothing wrong with the intake manifold gasket. Why did you want to replace it he asked? I told him another mechanic told me it needed to be replaced and wanted to charge $200 more than what Frank was going to charge. Ever since then Ive been a loyal customer.

Wetmore Automotive did an excellent job on my transmission swap out. I bough my own transmission and had it delivered to their location. They had me back on the road within a day. Their prices were the best for a reputable shop in the area. I will be brining my other vehicles and letting family and friends know also. My wife and I have taken our vehicles to Roy for several years now. We live on the other side of town (Loop 1604 W) from his shop, and sometimes it is a hassle dropping off vehicles and picking them up; however, it is absolutely worth it. Why? First, and foremost, Roy is honest. Secondly, he tells you what you really need and what you dont need. Thirdly, we have never had any problems with repairs he has done. Fourth, his fees are reasonable...not cheap...not outrageous. I also have to add that his shop is a family run business, and they are really nice folks.This is an unsolicited review. Had my brakes done on my 2013 Honda CRV, at Wetmore Auto Repair, I dealt with Frank he was honest and very professional. Im very happy with the service and will be back for my auto service needs .

Brought my 2005 Jeep Liberty in for a transmission fluid and filter change. I told Frank I had an accident 2 weeks ago and I was concerned more damage than a ruined wheel and destroyed tire. I could hear something that sounded like a rock in a tire tread but couldnt find anything. He finished the transmission job, checked and filled all the other fluids and inspected the rear from the front of the wheels back. He had it on a lift so he could walk under it. The only thing he could find were worn brake pads. I was so grateful since they had not been inspected in a long time. Reasonable cost for the maintenance and didnt charge one penny for the inspection. Excellent, honest mechanic. I highly recommend this repair garage.

I live in Austin and I “NOTICE REAL QUICK” that they will overcharge you with Auto Repairs. So I did my research and found Wetmore Auto Repair in San Antonio. Frank and company did great work on my Lexus and for that he now most definitely has a new customer and i’m bringing 2 more people with me.

Went to have my transmission worked on and they claimed to have dropped the pan to look and see if I needed a rebuild or something else along that matter. Apparently everything looked fine and it was an electrical issue. Didnt charge me for any of the work that they did if they even did anything at all, which I found odd. No ones does that stuff for free so I thought it was too good to be true which it was. I wouldve appreciated to just be told that they were just too busy at the time instead of being lied to. Now Im at an actual transmission shop and theyre telling me that the information above about my transmission is false and that I was lied to.

I took my car in and had it diagnosed for free which by the way is unheard of these days. Most places charge a diagnostic fee. Anyway they took care of my problem and charged me a reasonable amount for the repair. I highly recommend this place as they are honest people and its a family owned place. I found this business through google listing. I needed a transmission for my vehicle and the shop manager Frank inspected the vehicle and drove it. He walked through the options with me and we talked about the pros/cons of each option. I am not a mechanic but I am well versed with vehicle repairs. After talking to him I knew right away that Frank was very experienced and was not trying to blow smoke and try to sell me a repair I did not need. I settled for a used transmission. He did it for a great price and had it done on time. I dont recommend too many places but Frank and his crew are honest folks who take care of people.

I went to another shop (in the area) to get a quote for brake service and they did an inspection and told me I needed additional work and huge estimate for repairs. I told them I was not comfortable getting any repairs done with them and they said well you have to pay $90 for diagnostic fee. I then called Wetmore Auto Repair and they said bring in the vehicle and we will check it out for free. Frank and his gang checked the vehicle out and they said you just need new brakes and nothing else. The cost was less thank the first place I went to and they did not try to upsell me on anything. These guys are great!! They have earned my business.

Discovered Wetmore Auto Repair while shopping for a remanufactured transmission - they were referred by one of the reman online stores as an authorized shop to install their products. Good thing I found them, Frank mentioned I should check LKQ before finalizing my decision - fantastic referral, saved me a few hundred bucks. Had some parts Id purchased, they were happy to install them charging me only the labor for the work - their time for the work was within industry expectations.High quality work, excellent customer service, - my new go to repair shop - cant beat fair, honest, and high quality!

I took my vehicle in for a brake job at big box retail chain shop and they totally screwed up the brakes. They squeaked more than before and they put cheap brake pads. I found these guys through word of mouth. I took my car to Frank and he fixed the problem for much less than what the big box retail chain charged. Frank is a honest man and a man of God. Frank does not charge anything to check your vehicle out. I will be bringing him all my vehicles. These guys are great!!

Laredo was awesome. He fixed my wifes calipers that Wetmore Auto Repair did not fix. Wetmore Auto Repair left a bolt to the caliper off... My heard a vibrating noise in the rear passenger side... Went to Cordova #5, Laredo test drove it, examined it, and noticed a missing bolt... He placed the missing bolt.. No more noise... He informed me that the caliper could have fell, lost the pads, and caused an accident... I am so upset at Wetmore Auto Repair... Will NEVER go again... Too bad you cant put negative stars....

I paid Roy to fix the trunk.He opened and closed it to show it was fixed.The first time I used it, later that night,it didnt close.When I took it back,he said that I had messed it up.I told him that I had been living with it for six monthsand showed him what I thought the problem was.He said the part I showed him had been good yesterday.He said that now it was broken and had to be replaced.Then he offered to mess with it.He had just accused me of damaging my own car that I had just paid him to fix.Then, he told me that I had to replace it because it was broken,but that he would be willing to mess with it, even though he had just said that it couldnt be fixed.I left Roys with a bad feeling,a trunk that was still broken,and evaporated money.

Mini van was leaking oil all over my driveway. With the help of the internet we found Roys. Im glad we did. Thy are friendly and answered my wifes questions whenever she called. I couldnt check because of work so she had to take care of everything. They fixed the problem and charged an appropriate price. They checked for more problems while seeing what was wrong and didnt create any new ones. The van was in and out in a few days. We will be back if ever needed.

Roy opened 2 shops; One called Roys Shop on Nacogdoches that he sold to Manuel Loredo in 2007 and it became Mannys Shop, 2 years later he re-opened Roys Northeast Shop that he sold in 2014 to a man named Amid on Wetmore Rd. that became Wetmore Automotive. He left both these businesses as an Angies List A+ Award winning mechanic shop owner. His new businesses do not have his name on them, but he has remained active and loyal to his original customers.

Roys NE Shop, works to satisfy all its customers, but there is often one here and there that cant be pleased. The customer review below informed Roys NE Shop that he knew what his vehicle needed and did not want to be sold anything other than what he had brought, which was a clutch. Roys NE Shop, gave him a labor quote to do the clutch, the customer was very determined to not be sold on anything else. If a customer claims to know mechanics and bring his own parts, he has every right to be respected for his knowledge and not questioned.Often a clutch install will get a little air in the hydraulic system, and after its driven a little.... it will clear up, other times it will need to be re-bleeded. In this case the customer refused to bring it back to get checked, and it was easier for him to add a bad review than admit he should have had the shop diagnose it first. When the clutch replacement was done, and he realized the problem was NOT solved he blamed the shop for it. At other times, customers choose to save money and bring cheap parts, that are defected, squeal, and dont last long. It does not mean they were not installed properly it just means that they were not meant to last for the price. Unlike other places, if Roys NE Shop, recognizes the poor quality of the parts, they will refuse to do the repair, and instruct the customers not to waste their labor money on those parts, and they will be advised to buy them at another parts store. Roys NE Shop works to save you money, not take your money......The below customer was instructed to bring the vehicle back to be correctly diagnosed and repaired, but he decided to take it elsewhere. He admits to being informed to bring it back to the shop, and admits he would not return. Even the best of dealers often require a few test runs to insure all is working properly. He was not rejected, he was not insulted, he was courteously asked to return the vehicle for a more thorough check and he refused.In addition, Roys NE Shop, mechanics are paid by salary, they make the same amount of money every week, regardless of how many customer cars come in and out. Unlike most shops, Roys NE Shop proprietors build the shop and the business, they dont have big franchise overhead costs, so they dont pass those high rates to their customers, they offer the best rates and services in NE San Antonio. They can afford to turn away work if they dont feel it is appropriate, or worth the customer investment. They will often tell you the vehicle repairs are not recommended because the vehicle has other more critical issues, and advise you to repair the major issues first. Often Roy will tell you not to put any more money into that vehicle and save your money to buy needing less major repairs or cost...he doesnt want you throwing your money away. Roys known for his honesty and he wont hesitate to tell you if the vehicle is in poor condition and you should replace it rather than put more money into it.

I have service vehicles that need to be on the road to make money, Roy and the staff are always taking care to get my trucks out as quickly as possible and the repairs, be it brakes engine work or preventative maintenance, Roys has always taken care of me the the price is always fair.
