My father and I have used this little shop since my first accident. They have been nothing but paitent and kind. They take the time to explain everything in detail and if I dont understand, they dont hesitate to call someone in my family that does before I pay for anything. Bottom line, I had $1, 500 budget to fix my old car, they lost my business!When I dropped off my old car, it was not starting. They kept it, and I asked them to give me a quote BEFORE any work/cost would incur. I gave them a check list that the mechanics across from them gave me, where I had done some work on my old car, (but they were asking for too much money), however they told me up front how much money and the inspection they did was a courtesy. They kept my car for 5 days, and never received a call from them to let me know what was wrong with my car. So when I finally call them to ask about it they tell me I owe them $50 for the inspection, and that my car has nothing wrong. If I wouldve known UP FRONT the cost of the inspection, and after that I decided to leave the car, I wouldve been OK. I never received a call back to inform me about my car, and over the phone this person called Chris laughed at me when I was surprised of being charged. The owner Tony was trying to save the situation by chargingme $43 instead, he ended upbeing rude as well talkingtome in a loud scolding tone of voice asking if I was really expecting them to check it for free. if both wouldve pay attention to the fact that I requested to let me know of any charge before anything gets done, and if they wouldve known how to read the title of the list I had provided from the shop across the street, where it indicated that was a Courtesy check, all this wouldve been avoided.

Great fast service. People seem very nice and attentive. Took my car in the morning. Couple of hours later they pin point the problem, explained to me the causes and the best solutions. Same day pick up.Will for sure be my mechanic for times to come.

Prices are better than others sometimes. Sometimes not, you have to shop around. What makes them better than most is the quick turn around on repairs.

Ive been a customer here since about 2005 and have never had a bad experience. They always find ways to check and repair what is needed. They never try to make me feel endangered if I dont get repairs that arent actually needed, as has been my experience in other shops (I have noticed that this happens to many of my other female friends as well.).During this pandemic, they were very careful to use masks, sanitizers and social distancing. Ive never had to come back for a re-do after theyve done a repair. Ive recommended them to my friends, who have also been very happy with their work.What do I like about this business? EVERYTHING! The people who work there, under the direction of the owner, including mechanics, receptionist and manager are all knowledgeable, helpful and attentive.Thank you CARS for keeping my 1999 Toyota Camry alive and healthy for all these years.

I cannot fathom how they got less than 5 stars. I take all 6 of my vehicles to them and they are fair, quick, and reasonable. I had a cracked engine block on my Civic. Rather than replace the engine as we were expecting, Tony suggested engine block seal and to replace the pump. Saved $3K easily. They are outstanding!

I had taken my vehicle to two other garages before finding this location on google. The other garages quoted me hundreds of dollars in repairs because of an engine light. After coming to Certified Automotive Repair they plugged up my air sensor and looked for codes and nothing. The engine light went off and I have not had any problems in the last three months. It’s amazes me how much money I saved. But also the honesty of this repair garage. I tell everyone I know to go here for repairs because the service is unparalleled. Thank you. Certified auto repair is the most honest shop I have been to. Took them the list of things another shop had said was needed, and certified auto repair showed me how half the stuff was not need. I will never go anywhere else. Thanks guys

This place is amazing! Kaylee and the team there helped me out when my engine light popped on. Got a quote before going in and my car was fixed for even less than the estimate. They looked at my car quickly, communicated clearly with me, and did it at a low cost. They are amazing and I highly recommend going here. They advertise by word of mouth only too and they have been around for a long time. Tells you about the quality of work and quality of people there.

Will NOT honor So Called WARRANTY on their work!!! They charged me almost $800 to replace my turn signal. Turn signal still doesnt work after a whole week of working on it. They also broke my dashboard an acted like it was nothing. Never replaced it. Never called me back...NOTHING!!! Spoke to the owner and he just passed me to the same fool who wasnt helping me. I asked the owner if they had been open this whole time because I didnt hear from them. He actually said to me We are essential guess you havent been working lol. Im civil service, a veteran, an I work in a hospital. I asked if he was prior service, served our country or military. They are not. He will never know what it is like to experience the real reason we are free. The True cost of freedom and the amount of blood thats been spilt so they can take money from people like that. This is the Rolls-Royce of auto shops. In a world where franchises like Midas and the dealers overcharge the world of cars and hire less than qualified mechanics, certified auto sticks out. I gave all the credit of craftsmanship and Hardwork to this to the owner and operator, Anthony who’s been working on cars for 40 years. A perfectionist at heart and nothing is ever allowed to be second-best or “good enough“. Another great saying they have here is if it’s not broke don’t fix it. They are very big on not fixing things that don’t need to be unlike other repair shops that will change out the whole car for a little bit more money.You have a life customer Anthony, cheers!

Great place. Honest guys with fast service. They really got me out of a jam heater core on a 98 F150 went out. Its a $40 part and a $1,000 repair because they have to drop the dash. I didnt want to do that for multiple reasons but as I called around they were the best price. I called them back to say I wanted them to do the work and thats when they told me I could just by pass the heater core. Granted I wouldnt have heat, but I didnt care. I live in Texas. 30 minutes and ~$50 later I was back to work. Ive been going there ever since, its been about 6 years. I figure anyone who would talk to the customer and save them $1,000 is worth doing repeat business with and I couldnt be happier. My brother also uses CARS and has no complaints FWIW.

Wow, if only all mechanic shops were as honest as CARS. The starter on my 2002 4Runner went out on our drive back home to Dallas from Mexico. We ended up having to spend the night at a hotel, luckily I found CARS through a quick google search. Upon arriving at CARS via tow I was greeted by Tony and his staff. Soon after Tony walked out and inspected our vehicle and turned the key on ignition until the engine cranked and voila the truck started. He smiled and said you need a new starter, we can have you back on the road within 2 hours or you can take your truck to your local mechanic back home. Due to scheduled engagements back home and short on time no repairs were completed and no fee billed either for the diagnostic. Thank you Tony and CARS, you guys rock. Anyone reading this review and contemplating about taking your vehicle to CARS your search is over.

Over the last 10 years Ive lived in San Antonio, Tony has worked on 4 different vehicles of mine several times each. Not once has Tony ever recommended an unnecessary repair, and all of his work has been excellent and just as promised. Ive never been disappointed by his work.

These guys are the best. They always fit me in and they can fix most any problems.They have worked on several Jeeps, a Toyota and a Honda for me and they know their stuff!They must study constantly because it seems like they know about most all issues and manufacturers recalls.They have all kinds of after service bells and whistles such as nationwide service partners and roadside assistance that are included for no extra charge and they dont even tell you about till after the service.The oil changes are a great deal, super fast and I cant even buy a filter and 5 quarts for what they charge.They even rescued my wife and kids one time when the car wouldnt start at my daughters dance class.Thank you Ben and Rich and everyone at Certified Auto for taking such good care of my family!

Recently I was visiting San Antonio with my new wife for our honeymoon. I had an oil pressure sending unit causing me trouble and the dinging from the warning was driving us both crazy.After the local dealer quoted me $650(!) to replace the $40 part I stumbled upon the honest and fair folks at C.A.R.S. The book (Alldata) called for 2.1 hours but the service writer himself changed the part that I provided in about 10-15 minutes and had us back on the road and enjoying our honeymoon again. They charged me $40 labor which compared to the $650 the dealer quoted I theoretically saved $570!!!I would recommend C.A.R.S. to anyone looking for good, honest people to help them with their next auto repair. The dealer was quick to take advantage of someone in a desperate situation. Not C.A.R.S., they went above and beyond to help a stranger out that was 300 miles from home and his normal, trusted mechanic.
