Vara Chevrolet was the best car buying experience I’ve had yet. Salesman Ronnie Limon- My vehicle took 2 weeks to get here from the Manufacturer but he communicated details from start to finish. He signed us up for GM rewards and made sure we were updated on all our savings. The day after it got here he made sure to have it ready for us washed & with a full tank of gas. Finance Manager David- was absolutely the sweetest. Made me the deal of a lifetime and was so happy to see his customer happy. I will definitely recommend Vara to family and friends. They’re all about the customer & making it happen.

I originally had an appointment for Wednesday at 8 am. I called on Monday to try to change it and I was told that appointments are longer necessary. So I went in at 7:45 on Tuesday for just an oil change and tire rotation. The service advisor told me that there was 2 cars ahead of me and told me my car would not be done until about 11:00 am which I think is excessive for the service I needed. Three hours, really. I left there at about 10:45. Im not sure Ill go back.

The day I went to have my oil changed...I alwaysTurn my radio off....and air condition off...when I get my truck back ..the radio is louder than IUsually listen to....the air-condition at max tempI dont know if it was the kid parking the carsPutting them in line...or the technician...ANYWAYI dont appreciate that!!!! Cant these peopleDo their job without touching anything...Unacceptable!!!

Superior service from the VARA! John A and the Collision Center management team were freaking awesome! Props to the Collision Center techs doing the work - OUTSTANDING JOB guys!!!After a collision with a deer that destroyed my 2020 GMC Sierra front grill, lights and entire drivers side of my truck, I dropped off my truck with John. His customer service made me feel like I was dropping off my truck with a good friend. He made me feel like family. I did not feel like I was going to get screwed. John was courteous, confident and has great personality. Hes down to earth - no BS from him! He really knows what hes talking about. He even caught additional items that needed to be replaced that the insurance adjuster missed. He walked me through the process of what needed to be done and he kept me updated with phone calls and emails. It was nice to hear updates on what was happening.My favorite part of this whole experience is when I went to pick up the truck. The truck looked BRAND SPANKING NEW! Paint was perfect, tires were shining, lights were sparkling, and the chrome was gleaming, deer hoof marks were gone! The entire truck was detailed - even the interior was completely detailed! The truck looked like she was in the show room ready to roll out for the first time! Im telling you - I could hear AC/DC Thunderstruck in my head as the truck rolled up. The only thing missing was beer and whisky to fall from the heavens!These guys know what theyre doing. I really trust the VARA team - your should too. What a team! They will go above and beyond for you! I feel like part of the VARA family! GREAT JOB AND THANK YOU!

Time estimates there are terrible. Showed up approx 720am. I asked if I should go back to work while they accomplished my oil change. I was told there was one car ahead of me and shouldn’t be too long. Well, not too long to me will be maybe an hour. Almost an hour later I got the call that I have a nail in my tire. No biggie, I assumed the oil change was completed. I finally got out of there about 950. Almost a 3 hour fiasco. Why 3 stars, I really don’t know.

If I could leave a zero rating I would. I dropped my car off on Saturday morning10/16/2021 for an oil change, never received a call that it was ready or not. Then when I called to see what is going on, I am told by the receptionist, well all the service staff left and they didnt leave any keys up at the front. The lady who received my call was nice and tried to help, she said the service manager would be meeting me at 6:00 am in the morning 10/18/2021, so I could get my car. Well that didnt happen, I had to try three people who gave me the run around and told me wait until we open at 7:00am. Finally at 7:00 am after waiting outside the building in the cooler weather, with my children. I get my key back no apology, no explaination, nothing.. my car wasnt even touched. I WILL NOT EVER BUY OR RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP! THEY ARE HORRIBLE!

Good customer service but horrible vehicle service. The service department has a star in Mike however the dealership is inefficient in vehicle service. 3- 4 hours for an oil change is ridiculous. If you cant handle the work load then just do appointments only for what your staff can handle.The wait inside the dealership is even worse as lobby is outdated. No water, coffee or snacks. There is literally nothing Inside but bland dirty white walls...might as well be a hospital waiting room.I hate to say but Vara is getting outclassed by so many other dealerships. Im sad to say but this will be my last experience with Vara. I settled here because it was the last place with the color vehicle I wanted. We purchased at Audi and Toyota with these dealerships making you feel at home. Its sad how the owners dont see it. They dont realize that at Vara only Chevrolet sells vehicles not the dealership.I know dealerships have wait times but at least youre not stuck in a box. I know Vara has been this way for years..and it sure looks and acts like it. It all ties together Vara..sales, efficiency, customer care..if you lack in one area you lack in all areas.Vara if youre are going for the we sell cars and dont care about customers approach...then youre a 5 star at that.

Was told my oil change would take 3.5 hours, I got there 30 minutes after opening. Went and ate breakfast with my wife. As we were paying the tab they called and said it was already done just over an hour later for $5 less than the estimate. New to this side of town and looking for a place near home. Found it! Great service, competitive pricing, efficient service.

Job was done (oil change) but took them about 6 hours. When I dropped it off the advisor said 2.5 -3 hours…. Luckily the waiting area was hot no a/c ended up getting a ride home if not I would of been stuck waiting till they were done. This is actually my second time here because it is the closest to me but they also took about 4-5 hours on my first visit yikes for a simple oil change 😑.

Came to try and get an oil change and they told me it was a five hour wait because their facility was not at capacity to handle so many customers. Tried to setup an appointment and they said they don’t do that, spoke to Michael who’s the manger of service and he wasn’t helpful either. We purchased out 2021 suburban and were told they would honor service appointments which was not done, he said he could get it done at any other Chevrolet but the service wouldn’t be covered under our new purchase oil change vouchers, horrible service through and through

Body shop delivered the vehicle back to me in this condition. Stated that its my responsibility to inspect there work. The windshield is not sealed and moisture enters overnight. The vehicle should not be returned like this is the body shop is professional.

Great service, as usual! I needed a window replaced on a Chrysler Town & Country so I came back to Vara where they did such a great job with another one of my vehicles in the past. Their great customer service was consistent with my last visit. John was kind and courteous as he walked me through the process from start to finish making sure to update me along the way. When the vehicle was ready I received it completely clean and detailed inside and out and they even fixed some dents I had at no extra charge. These guys go above and beyond every time!

Went for an oil change and got my car back with oil hand and finger prints all over the hood area of my car. As I got inside my car the steering wheel, key fob and driver side door panel tattered with oil prints. Horrible horrible experience. As I paid the cashier she was clueless to my questions about what was serviced on my car. She proceeded with a droopy face and every answer was a shrug with a mumbled I dont know. I did not discover the oil smudges on the interior until I was in the freeway headed home. I arrived home and noticed the oil prints on the hood area.Very poor service with staff that are in need of some customer service training.

This was the worst car experience I’ve had. I don’t write reviews but if this helps one person stay away from here it’s worth it. Don’t come here if you want to fast service or you’re a single female. I took my car in to get it serviced thanking the battery was bad. On Monday morning they told me it would take 1 to 2 days. The third day came and I hadnt heard any update so I called the dealership multiple times to get an estimate on when my car will be done and I literally couldn’t get a hold of anyone. It got to the point that the lady directing calls just ignored me. That is, until my father had to step in, and he was finally able to get in touch with a service manager. Come to find out after this conversation I actually should’ve been looking at a 5 to 6 day turnaround to just look at my battery. Only because my dad stepped in did my car get seen faster. Then, I also asked them to check the alarm system it has been malfunctioning for over a year. When I got a hold of someone they basically gaslit me into thinking there was no problem with the alarm system and they didn’t need to look at it. So finally after four days of just needing a battery checked I get in my car to drive it home and the alarm system has gone off. 4 days and $250 later I have a flipping new battery-unbelievable. This is honestly embarrassing for this dealership and Chevy as a whole, don’t take your car here if you can help it.

On 09-23-2021 we went to Vara Chevrolet to purchase a 2021 traverse that was advertised on their website. After being approved and agreeing to the terms we left to go to lunch and was told the paperwork will be ready and the make ready will possible be done and if not we can pick it up the next day. As we were eating lunch my salesman called and told me the incentive that was agreed upon had expired some time ago. He said that if we put 1500.00 down then the payments would be the same and if not the total would not be the same that we agreed on. I refused that explanation and the deal. It was not the 1500.00 that changed our minds, it was the bait and switch on what we agreed and signed on. What a shame! My poor girl is very upset cause that is the vehicle she really wanted and was willing to pay a high premium. Why did the seasoned veteran salesman not know the incentive expired prior to coming to a agreement. I hope Mr. Vara see’s this post and comments on this action. I was stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire this Friday evening. A young gentleman i believe his name was David was kind enough to pull over and help me change it. Im usually pretty hesitant about things like this because of the crazy world we are living in but he was wearing his uniform and i felt more at ease because he knew what he was doing. I offered to give him some money for his trouble and he did not accept, he said he was just trying to help because a lady should never be stuck on the side of the road by herself. Vara Chevrolet has a great young man working for them.

Service is the worst I have ever seen. Trying to get the oil changes provided at purchase is next to impossible. You can be there prior to opening and be one of the first in line and still get told it cant be done that day or it could take all day. Service providers were never very friendly. I have a 2020 Trail Boss. When I tried to get warranty work on a strange noise in the engine I was hung up on twice. When I finally talked to someone the lady said she couldnt help me because she wasnt signed on to her computer. Said she would call me back. It took hours. I was then told it would take 2 months to get an appointment or I could drop it off and just leave it. She said it could take a week or two to MAYBE diagnose it. I took it to Northside Chevrolet. They took it the next morning. Diagnosed it that day and ordered the part. It was fixed and back to me in 3 days. I wish I never purchased from vara and never will again. I have since spoken to friends who also bought from vara. They informed me they have the WORST service after sale.

No matter how early you get there for an oil change they seem to never be able to do it. Ive been there early on multiple occasions and still get turned around saying they cant do it because they arent accepting anymore oil changes or your vehicle wont be ready until closing time. Dont understand why something so simple is made so difficult.

Visited Vara on 8/23/2021for an oil change and tire rotation. Waited 4 hours and vehicle had not been touched. The service advisor made no effort to explain the delay or when I might expect service to be completed. I had other things I needed to do that day so I canceled the service request. Went to an oil change shop was in and out in 15 minutes. I sent a note through Varas contact us link on their website explaining my experience and dissatisfaction and to date I have received no response. Says a lot to me about Varas overall approach to customer service.I will never return to Vara Chevrolet for service or to purchase another vehicle. This visit tells me they do not find their customers time to be valuable and that the service advisors have no understanding of good customer service. Simple communication can cure a myriad of ills.

Recently received a recall letter from GM regarding my GMC Denali on an airbag issue, guess what I did not purchase my GMC there however since Vara is very conveniently to my residence I drove it over to Vara and they said no big deal its GM Product just bring it over and we will take care of the recall. I went to two different dealerships to buy a truck. The first dealership I tried to work a deal online because of my schedule and they kept insisting I go in person. I did end up going in and they told me the truck I was working on was sold and that I should have requested the truck through online. Then they kept giving me the go around about putting a deposit down online. The second dealership was not helpful and he seemed as if he was judging us. But let me tell you what VARA CHEVROLET did. They listened to our story and what we wanted. Unfortunately they didn’t have what I originally said anted but offered an upgraded truck. We left a very pleased. We were taken care of and welcomed. Highly recommend shopping at vara Chevrolet.

I found a vehicle that was suitable for me and my family and never got to even see it. The sales experience was was okay, the salesman provided great service; however, I had to travel Twice two 50 mile round trip because of the dealerships error and paper work and not having their stuff together.The vehicle was sold a certified however it has been one issue after another with check engine lights, air bag light coming on and ABS light flashing. The vehicle was also sold with four different tires which I didn’t take note of because it was in the evening when we took delivery. You’d think as a certified low mileage GM vehicle all for tire would match with decent wear. About a month after our purchase we had to replace all four tires because of the horrible ride and uneven wear. There was also several items with the vehicle the dealer agreed to address, yet it was like pulling teeth to get them to acknowledge the sales team verbal agreement.The service experience is also a joke. My vehicle is currently under the certification and warranty, yet when I went in for my first oil change the service manager tired pulling the wool over my eyes trying to up sales and charge me for services that I know I didn’t need before he confirmed my car was in warranty.My experience with the dealership has been a very horrible one, not to mention the vehicle quality. I will never again visit this dealership or buy another badly engineered GM product!

The service has always been great at Vara, however today my husband went by there for an oil change. The service writer asked him if he had taken his car there before and we had not taken this car since we just bought it. The service writer then said to my husband that Mr. Vara does not like for cars that are not purchased there to get serviced. This offended my husband because he still is driving a vehicle purchased there in 2005 and has spent quite a bit of money there servicing other vehicles. Today he spent $180 servicing his vehicle there. I guess he will need to find another place to service his vehicles. This has been his go to place for vehicle service and body work. He was also looking into upgrading his truck in the near future but we may have to look elsewhere. It is sad that this is the mentality of a dealership I thought was hands down the best.

I HIGHLY recommend doing business with mr Rick Zepeda! After having a AWFUL experience with Toyota I went to Chevy. Mr. Rick took the time with me to help me pick out the best suv I needed to fit my active mommy lifestyle. I was able to get into a brand new 2021 Equinox. Rick took his time to answer all my questions. I told him how awful Toyota treated me and he made sure to go above and beyond to help me have the best experience. I almost thought that my wonderful experience of buying my first car was going to be ruined, I am so glad Rick was put into my path. He wasn’t pushy and gave me plenty of time to think about my options. I just want to thank him a thousand times for helping me!!

The appointment was a walk-in. They were very fast and efficient. We appreciate the speedy service bevy we had no appointment.The only think that that I would say, was unpleasant, they couldn’t find our truck for a few minutes.But other than that, we had a pleasant experience.

Displeased with the service department. My 2018 Chevrolet Malibu has been in there possession for 3 weeks they cant seem to find the issue with my ECM. I made an appointment and after a week or two was given no rental car no communication from the gentleman that took my vehicle either, been calling checking on my vehicle daily and nothing we are still looking for the problem was their response. Question Im having is how does a Chevrolet service department not understand their own vehicle. So I contacted Chevrolet customer service number and got their senior advisor assistance, now they wanna start moving around

I called over the phone for a trade value and sales menu from Corpus Christi. Mr Kong guaranteed me a number and said that he would give me more at the time of arrival if the vehicle was in great shape. True to his word he did just so. Purchase was swift and professional.
