Its like Doctor Whos Tardis. It may have a small façade, but its bigger on the inside. Ace has always had good quality products. This location has super friendly staff, too. And that is a major plus. I highly recommend this store and location.
I go here instead of Home Depot. Ace seems to still have some community level values that these big box stores like HP or Lowes seem to be lacking. This one has staff eager to help and they are helpful. Save yourself the from the degrading experience of participating in run away neo-liberal capitalism and go to a smaller store. It has everything you need without a parking lot the size of 4 soccer fields.
I love this place, friendly helpful staff and large selection for a little place. They have some nice knives and self defense items in a display case that always gets me for a impulse buy.
Had been a longtime customer of this neighborhood ace, but will no longer shop here after tonight’s disappointing treatment. When a customer shows up a minute before close and asks to return one item you accommodate the request. That’s good customer service. Unfortunately the employees didn’t see it that way, even though there were other customers in the store still shopping. Won’t be back
Just about anything you could ever need. Very helpful staff.
This is my go to place for small diy repair projects. Helpful sales staff. Its also easily accessible by UTA
Never made a bad key and the one time I returned an item they didnt bat an eye just returned my purchase amount straight to my card in 24 hrs and asked me to come back soon!
Ace is a compact, yet completely well equipped hardware store. You can find almost everything without walking endlessly long aisles to find one item. Prices are competitive and the stores are located in small neighborhood shopping centers.
The best staff a hardware store can have. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I come here whenever I can.
Staff where amazing! They helped me find what I was looking for fast, and efficiently.
I went in to my neighborhood Ace to take advantage of a promotion I saw in the circular and found that the product that was included was not there. I inquired and was instructed that it was on order to arrive the next day.The next day I returned to find that it was not on the truck from the wearhouse. I believe the manager on at the time upon discovering this simply said heres what well do. And proceeded to grab 2 of the item and instructed the cashier to do a 2 for 1 as it most closely resembled the offer. Thank you. Great staff and great customer service.
This place is great. Been shopping here for years. The only time Ive had a a problem was whhe city lifted face-covering mandates and Ace continued to enforce it in their stores. Un-American, out-of-line and not cool.
Not too excited about this visit. We drove from Sandy all the way to downtown Salt Lake because that was the closest store that had a specifuc sprinkler valve. We brought it all the way back to Sandy to install it. When we opened the box, the valve was broken. Now we have to drive all the way back to exchange it. Not fun.
These guys are great. They cut lumber for Us from a 2x4 and have always been great regarding questions. Mandy is the best
Nice little locally owned store with a decent selection. A little more expensive than the big box stores usually, but worth it not to have to go to one of those places (and not leave downtown). They pretty much always have what I need, unlike the Lowes on 13th S. Seriously, they fail me 80% of the time.
Let me start off by saying I typically leave positive reviews and steer away from leaving negative reviews knowing sometimes there’s an ‘off’ day and no one can get it right all the time. I’m human and I fully understand this. However, I have been into this Ace many times because of proximity and convenience and I will say that because of my combined and cumulative experiences here, I will not return to this Ace location and will take my business elsewhere. Having worked at an Ace Hardware for three years myself years ago, I recognized the need to be attentive and personable in order to maintain those repeat customers that don’t mind willing paying higher Ace Hardware prices compared to larger box store competitors because they enjoy the smaller, hometown feel Ace should give you. This particular store is a separate franchise and they are all too quick to remind you of that (especially if trying to return something with a receipt from a different Ace location...which everyone has had to do once or twice in the past). With employee turnaround it may just be this particular staff that doesn’t truly embrace the true Ace Hardware culture. Everyone I’ve interacted with there has been less than personable and less than welcoming (I’ve never been greeted once when walking through the front doors in more than two dozen visits over the past year). I do however remember an older employee grumbling and talking bad about a customer that just left loud enough for basically the whole store to hear. I thought how tacky and what would this employee say about me behind my back in similar circumstances. I wish any Ace Hardware the best and hope they survive this big box store culture we live in however this particular Ace will no longer have my business.
This Ace Hardware is a gem of a store. The staff are not only friendly but very well informed about many aspects of home repair and renovation. I find that the family run atmosphere lends a sense of investment to everyone that works there. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, especially in the face of so many chains that are owned by big corporations. FIVE STARS!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great selection of screws, nuts, bolts, etc. at this store! Awesome!
I went to pick up a chainsaw here yesterday, the guy who helped me was awesome. He was boisterous but not overbearing. He was very informative and helpful, but he wasn’t pushy. He definitely has genuine care for a good customer experience and I wish I grabbed his name so I could make sure he gets credit for doing such a great job.We were joking about the Ace Hardware jingle on our drive over “Ace is the place with helpful hardware folks” but after my visit I’m convinced that this location takes that seriously.
A lot of stuff and good deals not to busy either.
Convenient location. Friendly help. I went in for knife sharpening. I would have had to leave my pocket knife for 4 or 5 days but the person doing the sharpening wasnt there and I would have liked to speak with them first. I went to a knife shop.
I always come here - they have what I need and the people who work there are super friendly. Shop local!
Really great staff! They always seem to know where to find the product Im looking for. Surprisingly good inventory for the size of the store.
Im a complete tom-boy & Ace is one of my favorite stores. This location tho, is my favorite to shop. Always well stocked & organized. The staff are great. Knowledgeable, friendly, & helpful. Great job yall 👍
The folks in this store are very helpful and friendly. They generally have what one needs for projects around the house.
Small hardware store that seems to always have everything you are looking for! They kindly delivered oversized items to our house at no charge.
Very friendly and knowledgeable folks. Line for register is not very covid smart.
Very nice hardware store. Staff is helpful and friendly.
Brian really helped me out by making a copy of my car key. I had been trying to get the dealership to help me for months. Brian is the man!
Super friendly people and the store had lots of things.
Went in on Sunday may 2nd. Very limited supply of gardening stuff and over priced. Music they were playing was awful. Went to Smith‘a across the street and found much better prices.
People were okay but they never have the blanks to make the key I need.
Clean, organized, well-stocked, well staffed and they were all knowledgeable and helpful.
Ive shopped here for years. Very convenient for the Avenues, the U of U and down to Liberty Park area. Right now theyve yet to allow people in who are not wearing a face mask, so Stephen, an employ there, went in for me to get the few items I came to grab. Very helpful.
Excellent place to get all your tools and other needs for your next project. Good prices and helpful staff. Can get busy at times but they do an awesome job of keeping the line moving.
Much larger and better than expected, staff very helpful and friendly.
Extremely helpful and kind, immediately welcomed me and assisted me with what I needed. Will definitely be coming back!
Blake perfect excellent employee
They have everything I need.
They always have the things I want there.
This is a local store it has been at several locations in Salt Lake City over the last 40 years. It is to go to hardware store in downtown Salt Lake
Excellent selection of screws, far better than the big box stores.
Friendly and helpful staff, they have any screw or bolt that you can imagine
Ace is so convenient, I love it
Didnt want to warranty craftsman even tho they carry and told me to go to lowes ... lame
Im a big fan of what this store has to offer & also a fan of the nice people there to help you out. Super convenient to have a place like this right downtown in SLC.
Whats that they say Ace is the friendly place? well it certainly is. While they may not have as much selection as some of their larger competitors, they make up for it with their customer service. Never met someone there that wasnt helpful or friendly. I try to give them business whenever I can as long as they have what I need.
These guys are super helpful. The store is smaller that your average hardware store but they keep it well staffed. On every visit I am asked no less than 3 times if I needed help. Their merchandise is well organized and clearly marked and varied. I have always been given correct directions and advise for the projects I ask about
Best but and bolt selection around! Friendly staff. Locally owned and operated is nice.
Nope. You guys rock. Very helpful and your employees are knowledgeable. I always feel confident that I have the right product when I walk out of the store. And the popcorn is a nice plus.
I was just threatened and made fun of by another customer. When I brought this to the attention of store employees they did nothing. When I asked for the manager he sarcastically told me, Ill make sure to tell him not to do that next time.
Best and fastest place to get your spare keys cut in town!!
Organized. Friendly Associates! Clean store! Festive with holiday decor at the front counter. Attentive associates that noticed me and asked me if Im finding everything I needed. They have about everything you need for a neighborhood hardware store.
Best service ive had in a while! Brian was super helpful and informative
This is a fairly small store, but they have packed a lot of stuff into a relatively small space; brand selection and variety is a somewhat limited, but they carry pretty much everything you might need for a typical home/yard project. The staff is friendly and they seem to really staff up on weekends - so there is always plenty of people around you help if you need it.
I always love going to ACE. Very helpful staff, which you dont find at other hardware stores.
I love everyone who works there and how helpful and knowledgeable they are.
Excellent variety of stuff, very friendly and helpful staff. Ive found many things here I couldnt find anywhere else. Worth dropping in just to browse sometimes. Not sure I really loved it, but I LOVE having a good actual hardware store to go to instead of a box store. They definitely deserve your business.
Great and helpful service! Bryan was awesome!
Very rude customer service. They harassed another customer today and made him leave the store. They were following him around the store from the second he walked in like he was some criminal. Very unprofessional. I will be taking my business else where from now on.
Helpful staff. organized shelves. had what we needed.
Youre going to want to grab a snickers as youre checking out. Trust your old Uncle VD on this one.
The prices here are higher than the box stores, but I go here when I need something and Im working downtown. Its worth the higher price for little things to not have to spend 40 more minutes round trip to hit Lowes or Home Depot. I am also always surprised at how knowledgeable Ace employees are at all of their locations. I dont feel like I get the same level of service at the bigger home improvement stores.
Friendly. Love the order online in store pickup. Usually same day. Good customer service. Wide selection. Knowledgeable staff. Best ACE Ive been to.
Ive been shopping at Ace for 8 years. Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks. Rarely do I need to go to the big-box store to find what Im looking for. 97 percent of the time employees are happy to help meAce is the type of story that reminds me of when i was a kid in the mid 80s
A helpful place
I love this location of Ace hardware. The staff is super helpful and they have so much packed I to a tiny space. Ive always found what I need.
The best hardware store around . Nothing is to much for the employees to help their costumers. Love this store.
This is a great neighborhood hardware store. They seem to have everything, even though it is quite small. I find their prices to be competitive with the giant home improvement centers in general. This store is located near several neighborhoods including my own. The best part of this store is the people working there. Bryan, Data, and Chris are particularly helpful - Bryan knows essentially every item in the store, down to every weird fastener, washer and clip int the hardware bins. This is my prefered hardware store, for sure.
For me its close to home. Its like going to an old fashioned store only up to date. The service is good and helpful. There is ample parking. As a bonus the free popcorn is a real treat.
The staff is so incredibly helpful and eager to assist in your project needs. And lets talk a minute about nuts. And bolts. There is no better place to find either.
Very tight quarters. Staff is not willing to help. They will ignore you.Update: I was just in there today and watched a employee go down every isle and ask each customer if the were finding everything okay ? that struck me as helpful. I think they really want to help. I was able to find what I needed to complete a job and the gentleman that the employee helped was as well, that customer did seem lost, as to what he wanted to accomplish, but the employee handled it in stride and spoke to that gentlemans skill level. That was very nice. I was still disappointed in the idle chit chat I experienced on my way to the register. I over heard some personal details that, if I wasnt a tradesman wouldve found offensive . Today was a good experience. I even found out they carry the HVAC blower bearing assemblies I had to order. Would have saved me so much time ! I will be shopping there again.
They have a good selection of Stihl and Traeger products. This is one of the cheapest places to get Traeger brand pellets.
It is within walking distance, on the Trax line, and ample parking. Wide variety of items. The housewares section, the north-most aisle, is a walk into the past containing out-of-vogue yet magnificently items. Neighborly and friendly staff.
I was looking for a diverter valve and would never have found one if not for a helpful clerk at Ace.
Its very convenient for us. Our favorite thing is the unique sodas and snacks that you cant find anywhere else. My husband and I will make a special trip just for a hard to find sodas and craft chips
... its close to my house. Spendy 💸
I accidentally got the wrong item and they made it easy to replace it a few days later for the correct item.
Pleasant Grove store is very impressive. Received knowledgeable assistance in selecting and locating hardware. Impressive selection of fasteners.
The staff at Ace give their customers the personal attention you just dont get from other stores. Thank for helping me with my projects. You guys and gals rock.
Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Bob will make sure you find exactly what you need!
The store is great, the staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. The only reason I did four stars instead of 5 is the price is about 20 to 25% more expensive than home Depot, although it is much more convenient and closer to downtown.
I go to this ace from time to time. I highly recommend Ace in general for the bolt selection. No other Hardware store matches Ace on that front. For everything else, its okay. A few bucks more then Walmart or Home Depot, but sometimes the convenience is worth it.
Ill be filing a lawsuit against an employee who forced me to wear a mask. I have a Disability and the employee ignored that fact.
This is my kind of hardware store! I did the fire extinguisher inspection here the other day. I found a very professional and positive staf. Great selection to pick from. Clean and organized. Go visit these folks. They will hook you up!
Great customer service - the key kid was great and took his time
This place does not follow policy of other stores. If you have something that they carry and you try to return it even though you bought it at another store they will only offer you a gift card. Huge problem! I need my money back. And this makes me not want to shop at any Ace hardware.
Helpful but didnt have what I needed
They think everyone entering the store is there to steal. I got some plastic tubing. I went to the register and the charged me nearly double. I noticed the price was incorrect and mentioned it. I was immediately told I was wrong and that was the price. A man behind the counter said he would give me a couple of dollars to make me happy. I went back to the aisle and took a picture of the price tag and showed it to them. They then said it was wrong. I asked them to look at the number - they had entered the wrong number and finally charged me the right price - never apologizing. BE SURE TO CHECK THE PRICE BEFOR PAYING AT THIS PLACE.
These guys are the best. We go here on a regular basis and they take good care of us.
Place for hardware near the Avenues
Always great customer service. Go in here about 3 times a week and everyone is always helpful.
Despite its small size, this store has everything I need for oddball repairs around the house. From the kitchen to the garden, they probably have that weird part you never knew existed until you had to Google your household fix-it concern.Even when this store is on tilt busy, they always have plenty of knowledgeable employees to help you.
Gotta love your neighborhood hardware store! Theyve never not had what item I was looking for. A huge selection of nuts, bolts, chain, etc. Always friendly staff.
Ive had the best customer service experiences here compared to any other hardware store. One of the employees took the time to talk with me about one of my home improvement projects, had great advice on how to make it successful, and even shared with me some of their personal scrap 2x4. Now I wont even bother with going anywhere else.
Great place to get miscellaneous hardware supplies. Employees are too aggressive at being my personal shopper. They take me to exactly what I am looking for, (I presume to reduce shoplifting problems). However if they were to let me browse in my way to the item I need, I would likely spend a couple hundred more dollars each month. They need to learn to read the customer and respond to each one appropriately if they want to stay in business. Instead of spending $75 on a visit, I end up spending $1.85 on the fitting due to their anti-shoplifting agression. Not a sustainable model.
