This store is the best officemax Ive visited. They are always nice and would always go above and beyond to help with our printing needs. They would advise their customers on how to save money. They are very efficient and would respond to inquiries in seconds. They are best!!
Travis is the best. Give that man a raise! He is more than. A manager, hes an angel. Took care of my ink needs and also gave me some encouragement I so desperately needed! Your the best
Super impressed with the service at this location!! My wife and I had to print and laminate several things and the employees made the process quick and fast!!
Office max I’m salt lake has a business ness relationship with a predatory parking firm called “Parking Solutions” this company has been flagged by the BBB as using unethical tactics to generate revenue. Office Max receives a kickback for every car this company boots in their lot. Stay clear of this lot, and this store. The company that boots your car is operating without a Salt Lake City license to do this kind of work and they break the law by claiming that payments may not be made with a credit card. Quit disappointing that office max would have a relationship with this company and take kickbacks for these unethical practices.
I got a lot of pretty s office has we need at home supplies computer everything monitor everything paper pen paid everything theyre a great place
I received incredible customer service from at least 4 different employees over 3 separate interactions purchasing a new office chair. Local heroes!!Corporate: In other cities businesses have paid parking meters to make money off unused lot space. Then use the money to freshen the store up a bit... that tile is ancient!
The manager Mike made multiple comments about us staying in the store just as they were about to close. He spoke to us like dogs as he said “let’s go” and walked us to the door. Having a job as a manager should be customer oriented, whereas the other employees did their best to help us and make sure the issue was resolved. His attitude just proves why he’s in such a low position in his life, and should not be qualified to working with the public. He should take that money he’s spending on the holidays and fix that receding hairline.
This office max tech service is simply the best. Guy named Travis he literally bouggt my dead computer back and gave me some great sercices when my campus IT gave up on this. So guys if you have any tech problem go office max. They are there to help.I would like thank Travis for saving the semester.
Only place in area who allow non paying customers to use the bathroom. Was so nice about it. And so polite. This why Im giving 5 stars. Great customer service.
Office max has a company patrolling for people who park and leave the parking lot. They base this on where in the parking lot you park. Dont park in the back. This company is so careless about booting cars they have even booted employees cars. After it is booted no one over the phone or the guy who gets it out will do anything. They hold your car for $80 ransom even if you have a receipt for shopping at Office Max. You have to appeal it after the fact. Again, this is a private company who makes money off of booting cars. Dont shop here, unless you want them to hold your car for ransom. Office max said it was nothing to do with them either. Feel free to read the sign cover by weeds at the entrance.
Helpful staff.
Good customer service.weird location... don’t park at nightthe inside looks pretty rundown.they always have what i need, and office depot doesn’t have
My overall experience at Office Max/Office Depot was not great. It started with ordering my print job. When I first got online they asked my location, but they wouldnt let me just enter my zip, I had to give them my email address and agree to receive promotional emails in order to have them update my location. Since I didnt want to give them my email address, they just chose a location for me.Overall, the process of ordering a print job online is smooth, but they didnt make it obvious what location the print job was going to and I was in a hurry (which was my bad), so it just went to the location theyd chosen, which was half an hour away instead of 5 minutes away from me.When I called to ask if they could send the prints to the store near me, I got great customer service from Ashley in the print center. She couldnt send it over, but she was willing to refund my money and let me reorder the job. I didnt feel that was fair since it was my own fault for not paying better attention, so I just drove the extra distance. However, I was annoyed to be ignored by all employees for the first 10 minutes that I was there, even though I was clearly waiting to talk to an employee. (They were all doing something and I wouldnt have minded waiting so much, except that nobody even acknowledged me all that time. I just needed an Ill be with you in a minute so I could feel like they knew I needed assistance and would get to me as soon as they could.)I will say that the employees I saw helping people all seemed to be very attentive to the people they were helping and providing great customer service, so maybe they legitimately didnt notice me. It just ended up feeling like a pretty negative experience overall, though I do acknowledge my own fault in trying to do things in a rush.
BOYCOTT. The store is run down. I found out the hard way that this location makes most of its money through a parking scam: Advanced Parking Solutions. The no parking signs are hard to see, but I parked for a few minutes to go to the coffee shop next door. Came back and the car had been booted, so I was forced to pay $75.Look, we all know Office Max is struggling to stay in business because of Amazon/Office Depot, so they set up Advanced Parking Solutions to scam good, hardworking people & then profit from the kickbacks. Bottom line is, if youre going to resort to scamming good people, you SHOULD go out of business.Boycott Office Max. Do it. Boycott them.Tons of reviewers here are saying they got scammed too. My friend said that he knows tons of people who got booted in the same exact parking lot because the signs are so hard to see.Boycott. Dont give money to shady businesses.
Linda was amazing. I was very specific in what I was looking for and not only did she go above and beyond to find the item she also was extremely pleasant to talk to. Its rare you find employees/individuals as warm and welcoming as Linda and everyone else in the store I had the pleasure of interacting with. Thank you for making my morning a lot easier!
I just had the best experience here. At first they were out of one of the things I came for but the gentleman who was helping me looked up other office stores who had it in stock and then he helped me find the 3 other things I needed and helped me carry the table around the store and even walked it out to my car for me. Amazing customer service and I wish I had grabbed his name because he was awesome!(-:
Super nice people! Very accommodating. My booklets werent going to be ready for an entire day, but I called them and explained I was in a time crunch. They finished them in a couple hours and called me right away. They are considerate and communicate with you better than your ex. Not to mention their prices are way lower than any competitors Ive found.
NEVER IN MY LIFE have I parked after hours at a business in a big empty lot and returned a few hours later to my car being held hostage by a private company! pay $80 or well have it towed. You have 1 hour Rafael of parking solutions threatened, accusing me of bullying him for having a problem with his way to make a buck.Reading through these reviews I see that I am not alone in my frustration, them even booting customers and employees. I paid $80 under DURESS to regain access and am exploring my legal options. If they think they have a claim against me for parking, they should take it up with me and have a judge or jury decide should I choose to dispute that, NOT steal access to my car and EXTORT money out of me far above and beyond any theoretical damages I may have caused them by parking in their precious lot. That would honor due process.I encourage you to shop elsewhere. I vow through legal means, my free speech, to cost Office Max more money than they have cost me.Terrible PR, just a foul policy.
Be careful of thier pricing. Im so sorry that this chain has had to resort to marking things up. I understand that they are desperate and using parking solutions etc to try to remain in business. Its a sad turn in our economy that those poor employees are getting such negativity as a result of the greed of the shareholders. Just be aware thier website is cheaper and they will price match. Hang in there employees of this store! I hope your manager is good with you guys and you enjoy walking in to work.
BOYCOTT this store and any other property that uses Parking Solutions to enforce parking regulations. Signage is not sufficiently visible, large, or clear. Innocent, unassuming people with no legitimate way of understanding the parking rules are victimized by a scam that forces them to pay $75 to get a boot off their car. The parking enforcers literally wait for their prey to pull in. This is not about protecting OfficeMax customers or private property; this is about making money in a dishonest way by threatening and cornering people.I will be reporting this to Get Gephardt and asking them to investigate this corrupt system.
Office Max is my go to place for those little things that I need for my office, which is often my car, or my bag that Im carrying with me. Good quality pens, car-cell phone chargers, and notebooks, are all easily found and reasonably priced. Heck Ill probably buy my next computer there being as it seems their inventory is heading that direction.
I have really nice experience in that place I was looking for paper to my printer and I was lost looking for that one employee was so kind and ask me, if I need help after that when I went to pay another guy was so!! Kind too and make me feel like I was in really professional hands, thank a lot to them
As far as office supply stores in SLC go, Office Max is my favorite. They have an ample dedicated parking lot so you dont have to compete with other customers for a spot. Inside the store is like a large warehouse with tons of selection and plenty of sale items.I wouldnt bother with the Staples around the corner on 400 S. Office Max is a much better overall experience!
Was both expensive and had the post-apocalyptic look of a discount store, as if supplies hadn’t arrived in weeks and it had just been over run by zombies who took half the items off the shelves and left things strewn about. Even relatively cheap items seemed to covered in security tags or hidden behind locked glass cabinets requiring an associate with a key, as if the staffs’ primary job is to guard merchandise from customers rather than sell it. Went to get a PowerPoint clicker; ended up getting one on Amazon for less than half the price.
CJ IN PRINTING IS A LIFE SAVER! He helped me print on vellum paper for a very important project. We were turned away by Fedex printing, Costco, Walgreens, etc. for printing on vellum. Most places gave minimum effort. Vellum paper is incredibly hard to print on, and most of the places either turned us away or told us it wouldn’t work after one try. Cj took the time to size EVERYTHING perfectly (needed multiple sizes) and tried multiple times until the printing worked on vellum. He really worked with us to make sure we were pleased with the result. I was NOT expecting such VIP service at an Office Max. Out of all the printing places we went to in Salt Lake, Office Max was the best BY FAR.I am so so grateful to CJ. He spent a lot of time with us to make sure the printing was correct. He even took the liberty to size some of the prints differently to see if it’d work better (it did work better). I will come back here for all my printing needs!!
Jasmine Back at printing was super awesome to work with. She guided me through setting up a document over the phone, and then more adjustments when I was at the store. It was a busy morning but she worked as fast as she could to get my prints ready while I was there. Very helpful employee! Give her a raise!
Employees were helpful and quick to ask if needed help finding anything. They did their best to answer any questions. Friendly and courteous service.
Pretty typical OfficeMax experience. The store is clean and well stocked. As with most of their locations, it feels perpetually understaffed. That said, when I was able to track someone down they were friendly and happy to help. Parking is ample, and it is a very convenient location
They have a hired goon who will give you a ticket and boot your car if you park there for less than 15 minutes long after the store has closed. Dont shop here.
Very unhappy with this store and the manager Brian. The staff recommended ink cartridges Canon CLI-251 for my printer, Office Depot brand. Not only did the cartridge not work for my printer which takes 251 (the same as this product is supposed to work for), when i opened a cartridge it sprayed ink all over my printer, cabinet and a guitar nearby. After my best attempt to clean up i went back to the store to return the ink. Brian the manager told me that the cartridges are not defective because a recall had not been ordered, then turned around and walked away. I asked for them to give me the Cannon cartridge for the same price as their generic and all they authorized was 20%. $10 for me to have to drive back to the store and clean teal ink off my cabinets and stress our about my guitar. Dont expect the staff to listen to you, and dont buy this product.
Didnt make a disclosure being $3.00 per page if they didnt pull out the staple on a packet of papers. It cost over $100 for copies!! If they had told me ahead of time that they charged THAT MUCH, I could have pulled out the darn staple myself. NOT HAPPY!! Will, a different person, saved me a little bit because he knew how to process a discount that I had, and that is what gave them 2 stars instead of none!
I came to this store parked went to a store next door and planned on going into office max after. Came back to an 80$ ticket and a wheel lock. I will never shop at any office max EVER again. You have lost a customer. Also be where if you plan on going next door and then office max you will get a ticket. Good luck to anyone that parks there.
They are SO sweet and nice! Always helpful and really think about the customer. Will be coming here for ALL my office needs ❤️
Addie in the print shop is always a superstar. Very helpful and positive even in stressful moments.
Very helpful staff at Office Max! I found everything I wanted and needed to put together very comprehensive and useful notebooks for a complex course of study I am embarking on with friends. Thanks!
They need to hire smarter people.I went in there today and asked the older lady at the front where can I find Visa tape. Not once but 3 times. She sent me to row 16, the Visa Tape was on row 7. DuhI DIDNT want Scotch tape, but Visa Tape.
Nothing special. Just your neighborhood office supply store. Its convenient to home and weve done a lot of print jobs there. When I need something quick thats computer related I usually check here first.
Wow! Staff is so kind and helpful! Linda and Lori you made my day. Truly everyone was supreme! Wont hesitate to return due to customer service from all staff!
Tim in the office center was an awesome dude. Ive never used a fax machine in my life and he took the time to walk me through the process and touched back up with me to make sure I did it correctly afterwards.
I was thoroughly surprised by the amazing selection and customer service. The staff went above and beyond to help me and make me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this location and supporting OfficeDepot.
Attentive customer service. Found what I wanted quickly. All good.
Never shopping at this store as they condone Parking Solutions to use predatory behavior to intimidate people. Office Max will respond to my review that they are not the ones responsible and it is the property manager, but Office Max has the corporate power to stop this from happening. I am disgusted by this behavior. Wont be getting a penny from me anytime soon.
Excellent service. Was looking for a new monitor and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. Found the perfect monitor for a great price.
Im extremely upset with this Office Max location (which is owned by Office Depot) and how they treat their patrons and the surrounding businesses. There always has to be someone that cant play nice and it this business! Saturday night in a rainstorm we stopped in to get a cookie near this office max. There was no street parking available so we parked in the Office Max parking lot. There were no signs that I could see and I didnt think much of it, heck It’s Office Max, an upstanding company right? (I later learned that there are hidden signs posted that say ‘no parking’ but they are not visible at night and there are no warnings of being extorded!) As soon as we stepped out of the car, the lowest of the low (troll under a bridge type person) parked in the parking lot as well, in a Black Altima with dark tinted windows and vanity license plates that say ‘SNPRFSH’ got out and put a boot on my car. He demanded $75 be paid immediately. He gave me no ID, he wasnt law enforcement, he claimed to work for Office Max, but how do I know?!?! I asked him what it’s for? He said Office Max doesnt want college kids to park here all night. I told him Im not a college kid and asked him if he really thought I intended to be there all night, since he saw us walk over to get a cookie. He said no, but I had to pay him anyways. This is not only a slap to someone that has a business account at Office Depot (I previously had one with Office Max), it’s a slap in the face to anyone that has a business near Office Max and makes the neighborhood look low class and shady. I have submitted my account to an attorney to see if its even legal, but whether it is or not, it’s a d-bag move for anyone wanting to stay in business. Watch out for this car and this avoid this business and location! I have no idea why the ticket is so steep or who gets the money, but just thought I should warn the public of this predatory behavior. It has to Stop!
I cant give it zero stars, so 1 star it is. Went to buy an office chair only to be told they dont really carry them in stock and it had to be delivered, but they claimed it was 2 day delivery. On the second day our tracking info showed delivery was delayed due to weather which we werent having. Yesterday I came home to a sorry we missed you tag on my door and called the number it listed to reschedule. They told me I had to call the store, store told me I had to call the 1-800 #. Rep at 1-800-GODEPOT told me she had to call the carrier because in their system it showed delivered days ago. Comes back on the line to tell me that because the carrier tried to deliver 3 times they had to cancel it and return the item. She confirmed she saw that delivery was supposedly delayed due to weather, and told me they only left me a tag on the last delivery attempt not on the first two delivery attempts because thats how they do it. Apparently they only let you know they tried to deliver once theyve decided they wont be back. She offered to help me find the item in a store near me, but oops, oh yeah, we dont carry them in the store. So, now Im back to square one, trying to buy an officer chair, and even if it means selecting a different chair, it wont be from OfficeDepot/OfficeMax.
This store embodies the reason that brick and mortar stores are failing. The building is in disrepair as well as looks empty even though its not. There were 6 employees on and 5 of them repeatedly approached me asking if I needed help. The first time is warranted, the second or third is obnoxious and off-putting.I came for something I found online that said it was at the store, but they didnt have it and the stocker said they never do. I had picked up an item I found while searching for what I came for, after finding out that wasnt available, I put the item back neatly where I found it.On my way out I saw good deals on computers and thought maybe I should just buy an entirely new computer rather than upgrade RAM on my old one. 3 of the employees came and asked if I wanted help again. This time hovering right next to me. The last to visit this time was the stocker. He noted that I didnt have the item anymore then proceeded to condescend and argue about computers. I did not ask for help or his opinion in the first place.Corporate retail training has turned your employees into confrontational and sub par security guards. I felt like I was unwelcome there and assumed to be a thief. The know-it-all at the end literally pushed 800 dollars out the door. I will never step foot in this store again and will shop at your other stores/website only if there is literally nowhere else on earth to shop for similar wares.
Very convenient location with plentiful parking. Good selection of products but sometimes I have waited to be helped.
Had a great experience at this location on 08/09. Younger woman with short hair (didnt catch her name) provided great customer service.
This place is a scam parking solutions got me. I wont set foot in a office max $75 dollars to get a boot off my car! I give this place a zero star as well!!
I was unattended by the employees and left due to this. The print center is a nightmare with no employee understanding of how to operate the station effectively. The automated system is full of ads and terribly clunky to operate. Go elsewhere for your prints.
I wouldnt recommend doing phone repair through OfficeMax. They ship out out to a company that is slow and doesnt keep updated on the status of your repair. I waited 2 weeks just to find out they couldnt fix it due to water damage.
When me and my brother first drove up to it we thought they were out of business, but theyre not, so dont let that deter you!! the store is like walking into the 80s, we had to go make a couple copies of paper and they did it all in a reasonable amount of time, it wasnt really busy so that really helped, overall mediocre experience!
Found the coolest kids backpack for $10 I was sincerely thrilled. The cashier was the kindest Ive met in a long time.
Employees were helpful however the price match policy doesnt work unless the manufacturer code is identical, even for obviously identical items. Unless youre truly desperate just buy on Amazon for 50% less.
Cahier was so helpful and patient when it comes to our needs...she help us locate and find our needs as well as the store manager on duty. Thanks for thse 2 wonderful people in ur store.
Great customer service. Purchased the warranty on a brief case solely based upon the cashiers friendly pitch. 👍
They were nice to me despite the fact that i was purchasing an item near closing time.
Also a victim of the unethical Advanced Parking Solutions scam. Went to a business next door at 10 pm for *2 minutes* and came back to my booted car. As others have mentioned, there is a small, unlit sign in the back of the lot that states Office Max parking only and that it’s $75 to remove boots, which I saw after paying $80 to get my car back. So, I was overcharged on a scam.By the way, Office Max is rundown and this parking scam is probably the only way they’re still in business.
Craptacular experience! WOW!!! I was trying to apply for a couple jobs online. There are issues with the job page. When you try to submit your application, an error message pops up saying that the survey cannot be opened and it instructs you to contact the website host to resolve the issue. Tried this a week ago and the following day on three different computers and two different networks...same error message indicating that the application is incomplete and cannot be submitted. Called the help desk. Guy accidentally sold a promotion item ($1,000+ computer/printer set-up)--not sure how he got that out of what I said--and used my saved payment method to complete the transaction. When he summarized what he did at the end of the call, I was completely baffled. He said he would correct it and directed me to HR. I was on hold for about 30 minutes and was finally greeted by an HR employee who seemed annoyed and said she realizes the problem and to continue to check back as the issue will be resolved. A week later, my promotional computer/printer arrives at the store (which was ordered in error and cancelled) and the online issues still persist. I tried to call to resolve the issue and the person I talked to said I couldnt get a full refund. Well, legally Im going to beat the living daylights out of OfficeMax/OfficeDepot for their inability to resolve issues and follow through with anything because these issues persist but currently, they are doing nothing about any of this. Im doing all the leg work because of THEIR incompetence. If they dont reply to this message, then thatll confirm to anyone who reads this that they are negligent and sloppy and the employees there are costing the company money. Does management do anything seeing these two issues went undone for a week???
It was the store in Bountiful that talk my Scout Masters Wife (who is 78) into buying an expensive computer that she didnt need. Then I went with her to return it and the sales clerk said no then he tried to sell her a class for Windows 10 for $50.00 for half an hour.
Parked and went inside for 10 minutes to look at something. Store called towing service, claimed Id been there over 3 hours, booted me. Cost 80 dollars to remove the boot. This company is called Advanced Parking Solutions and they are known for illegally ticketing and booting cars throughout salt lake. I know it isnt just officemax, but the store has more control over it than theyd like to admit. When I went in to complain to manager, who shrugged and said he doesnt really know whats going on around here. Thanks officemax. I know *multiple* people with similar stories and have warned everyone I know to avoid this location at all costs.
This place was pretty nice. Very clean, and way faster than I expected it to be.
Efficient staff, good copy services. Overworked service, she very busy 4 in front not occupied.
Keisha at the print counter was wonderful. Shes so friendly, funny and very knowledgeable.
Great place for copies in all styles and formats. Plenty of office related supplies, but a little pricy depending on the item.
Great Office Store with everything you need or you can get it from website. Great Employees
In and out in a bliss. All what I needed there. I was even reminded by the cashier I was tax excempt, as soon as she identified my account. Excellent service.
Good discounts, but make sure that the price matches at checkout.
This is a pretty good place always really quite and is good to make copies and resizing images.
Quick checkout, friendly and helpful staff (Zachary helped me). I came in looking for instant film for my Fujifilm Instax and was bummed that they only had one pack in stock, but I did at least get that one pack.
Well - stocked and neatly laid out store. Friendly assistance.
Went in to buy some Samsung cartridges for my laser printer. They were priced 40% higher than on Amazon. And the seller was direct from Samsung. They wouldnt price match so I put them back and left. How can I NOT buy them on Amazon? I literally saved $200.
I mistakenly parked in their parking lot after hours and ended up paying $150 for their precious parking space for 1hr. If its so precious to them, they should probably close the parking lot after hours and allow access to whoever they want to. Till then, innocent customers of nearby businesses like Vilage Inn, beware!
Okay store, run down with staff who are not paid enough to care. Dirty and messy but I found the paper I was looking for (after searching several minutes). Most importantly they’ve hired a predatory parking service so I got hit with a boot I had to pay $80 cash to remove—despite being a paying customer who bought something from the store and ran across the street for five minutes rather than waste the gas to move my car. Unethical company, I’m sure they get a cut from the parking enforcement.
Helpful staff, very quick checkout. Good in and out shopping
This company has a big EMPTY parking lot and they are hiring Parking Solutions have a guy sit in an old car and jump out to boot your car and charge $75 to get it unbooted if you shop anywhere else.
Had to make some marketing material the ight before, the employee was very helpful and quickly made the products within an hour. Awsome job.
They get kickbacks from Parking Solutions for booting cars without visible signage. Boycott them.
Its pretty good service considering everything is done online now a day. Have to give it to them for being there.
Its a good location. They have a large parking lot thats great for using trax.
Great staff and such a fun and positive environment. The deals are amazing, especially during back to scholl!
The woman in printing was very helpful and professional.
Like most office Maxs, but parking is easy and staff is always friendly.
Nice location that is close to the U of U if you need some supplies.
Very nice employees, they are knowledgeable about tech products.
They are very friendly and helpful. Will go again.
Decent place most of time is fast service
Great customer service, found all I needed here, and got a great discount with my rewards card.
Didnt have item needed shelf was empty could not find help around store
This store has a great selection of laptops, office supplies and furniture - easily the best place in town for office chairs. I always buy my executive chairs here. This OfficeMax is in a great location, too, only a 15 minute walk from my old apartment and close to a ton of other businesses. They also print off PDFs and other image files for you at a great price, that was a real lifesaver when I needed shipping labels at the last minute.I wish there were more gaming supplies, like Xbox and PS4 controllers, and a wider variety of gift cards(no PSN cards!), but thats just not an OfficeMax/OfficeDepot thing.
Its a no frills office supply store.
Tired looking business with employees to match. A good selection of office products is the redemption.
Found some great deal and prices. 👍👍
Carried a product that was retailed at $29.99 art two other previous stores and had it marked up $10 more.
Great location, super friendly and helpful! Print shop has been understaffed as of late, but theyre doing their best for sure!
Good. Didnt have the biggest selection.
Never have what i need in stock. Too many employees that talkto each other instead of finding what i need.
Awesome people to deal with
Pretty good collection of office supplies.
