Went for my moms passport photo for Chinese passport renewal which apparently is very stringent for the photo. Tried once at CVS and quality is poor and cannot pass the online upload even. The lab staff took time to take the photo appropriately and when first shot was a bit too dark, even re-took the picture again and was very patient. Successful at last and definitely would not have passed without their patience. Totally worth the slightly higher price.
Best place to have 120 film processed. At least in my experience. They take great care in all asp cats from development, scanning and prints.
This is a fantastic place to get your film developed. Ive sent over a bunch of 35mm rolls over the course of a few months and every time they deliver great results for a very reasonable price. Their developing time is quite short as well, as it only takes about 2 business days for them to get you your scans and developed film. Id highly recommend nichols to anyone into film photography.
Amber at Nichols photo lab is amazing! Super helpful in helping us create a family photo wall. They are professional and very good at what they do. I would refer them to anyone
Went to develop some 35mm film rolls. Prices are fair. The development is fast. And they give options to print, supply the negatives or just a digital download link.
For a long time I had been looking for a place that would develop film into digital form so that it could be in a flash drive.. thankfully I came across Nichols Photo Lab! I am very impressed with the incredible picture quality it’s even better than the actual print outs you can get developed at home anywhere else etc. I have tons of film that needs to be digitalized and so far they have been fantastic at delivering end results in a timely manner too! I definitely will recommend Nichols Photo lab to anyone in the future! 10/10
Inexpensive, fast film development! Wish I had a place this fast back home.
This place is great! My wife is my assistant and commonly takes my work to Nichols to have it developed. However, I was impressed to speak with the talented individual who helped me out when I recently came in to ask about a few film related issues I had been having. The knowledge and experience he had, along with tips he provided me were a great benefit. Come to find out, upon asking him his name, I discovered who he was. Mr. Gentry, who provided me with so much help, is an incredible artist who I have seen in galleries throughout my home state of Oregon and here in Salt Lake.. Its a blessing to have him working for this lab. Everyone at the lab is friendly, responsive, and quick to complete your projects in a respectful timespan.
High-quality results. Ive done a lot of photography and you can tell this is setup correctly with backlighting as well. For passport photos, the results are as good as anyone can ask for.
I had gotten in the habit of sending my film both 120 and 35 mm to California to be processed. I recently found this place and its convenient the quality is better in the services fast.
Quality, but tend to be little sloppy sometimes. Fast response times.Have had a few rolls of film scanned and in those occurrences they have sent the wrong order to me and done another backwards and upside down. You will get your images quickly though. Have a solid selection of film to purchase as well. Fair prices all around. Only folks in town who provide these services - as I understand it. Great one stop shop, but make sure your pay attention to what you drop off and receive.
This is the place! Extraordinary and exceptional! Professional and effective in every way.
Ive been using Nichols for several years to process my large format film, which I ship in. Ive never had any developing issues, and theyre prompt, courteous, and a good deal. Im very grateful that this lab is still around!
Photos turned out great and they were really fast
Great customer service and lab results.
Very nice staff and quality scans/prints.
I came in the other day with a camera that I had recently shot on (which already had film in it), and another that I had just purchased, both film cameras. I had absolutely no idea how to get the film out of the camera, or how to put new film back in the camera; clearly I am a beginner. Anyways, a young man was brought out to the front and gave a brief, but full explanation on how to use both of the cameras and how to unload and reload the cameras. I wasnt expecting such a speedy, easy tutorial, but this guy new what he was talking about. I got the film back that I dropped off that day and it came out exactly how he said it would. Thanks for everything Nichols, and young man I didnt catch the name of!
I’ve printer several large metal prints and custom framing. Very happy with this place.
In my opinion this is the best photo lab around. Great prices on film development. Theyre fast and consistent. I also like how my film comes back. Their scans/prints have are very good quality with decent prices to boot. Their selection of film is small, but of good quality. Film prices are about the same, or even a little better than online stores.
The signs at the entrance that say to call first- to make sure there’s not too many people in the lobby for Covid. So I called... and the person said to come in unless I was scared. 🤔 I think she could have probably worded that differently..
This place did a great job on our photos!
Very helpful staff. I had an old document. I wanted to preserve it. They gave me very good advice. So glad I went there.
My mom found 29 cartridges of 35 mm in a box of photos she was sorting. We first went to a big brand store and realized that it was going to cost $12-15 each, without knowing if they were worthwhile to even develop.Took them to these folks instead, and they were able to teach us about the numbering system showing that the films had already been developed! We still had a few digitized into just a flash drive to spot check, but Nichols saved us over $300 with just their expertise!Highly recommend them for their honesty, professionalism, and quality of work..
We love Nichols. Love. Love. Love. We have been going there for years to print our family Christmas card. Big family pictures. Invitations for our firm summer BBQ. And anything else we can find an excuse to print. Best print jobs in town for the price. Thank you Amber for always taking such good care of us!
Had a last minute gift idea 3 days prior to Mothers Day. The fine people at Nichols Photo Lab were able to get it done on time! Excellent customer service. Quick, easy, and beautifully done product! Will return for all my photo needs!
High quality prints, the only place i can find locally that can do metal prints AND metallic ink. Love the options and their ordering platform. And their turn around is usually so fast! Thanks for everything Nichols!
Called in with a few questions to print one single picture, the dude that answered sounded like he hated his life then after 2 questions I asked him he hang up on me. Worst customer service. Don’t come here
Great products, easy to use and good customer service.
Fantastic scans
Excellent work.Thank you.
These guys do spectacular work. Bullet proof dependability. Easy to work with, and super helpful. My son also uses these guys for his award winning photos.
Nichols is my go to place for everything antique photography.
Amber is the best!
This place is awesome. Theyve got great prices, and the staff is very knowledgeable. Ill for sure be coming back here for all my photography needs.
Always quick turnaround, high quality work, and still keeping the fridge of film available. I love Nichols!
Great customer service and my photos look great! Will totally be using these guys again.
The quality of print and speed of service is wonderful!
A Great Place To Get Your Memories pictures redone I also needed them the next day for a private ceremony for my father funeral and they were very understanding and got that done for me I am very grateful and will be now being using Nickels for all my photos as the person that did the picture Lynn has retired 15 years ago which I did not know was happy to talk with her ! She sent me to Nickles Photo Shop ! Thank you for your wonderful work ! Sure Enjoying The Photo ! See you guys soon to get more photo Memories ! Thank You Patricia dansie
I needed to get a passport photo of my nearly 2 year old son. I initially went to FedEx simply because they were closer. Im not sure if the woman trying to take the photo had never worked with children before but to put it mildly, she was useless. She eventually just gave up and said she couldnt do it. I was so frustrated I left in tears. It took me a week before I was ready to try again and came to Nichols. I told them about my previous experience trying to get a photo and they immediately stated without hesitation, Well get it.And they did. It took 3 different stools and a few tries because they wanted to make sure the photo would meet all the regulations, but THEY DID IT! Super friendly, had my son giggling, and I was one relieved Mama. Best $20 Ive ever spent.
Nichols Photo Lab did an incredible job of taking care of a confused first time customer (me).I was very, very late on an entry into a photography competition and Nichols acommodated me in more ways than I could have ever asked for.The staff were very patient, understanding, and produced a gorgeous product. The store has an incredibly welcoming atmosphere and the NEOS software they use for submitting orders is a very powerful and convenient tool. It makes buying products very easy and Im able to customize them in just about any way I could want.I really appreciate Amber taking several calls from me in the space of an hour as I thought of question after question. She was friendly, professional, and empathetic. My experience wouldnt have been nearly as great if it hadnt been for her.Im looking forward to spending more time checking out the shop and learning about all of the different products and services they offer. They have a truly extensive catalogue and Im happy to be able to go have one dedicated local shop for all of my photographic printing needs.Attached is a photo of the incredible print they gave me!
I placed a large order with a t day turn around. Everything was done beautifully! The service was top notch. I would recommend everyone who needs professional prints, canvases or metal prints to come here!
Had my film developed and digitized here. They did a great job and prices were very reasonable. Great service and they were very fast!
Ive ordered a few standard prints (without color corrections) from Nichols from 8x10 to 16x20. They are easy to order remotely using the application you can download from their website. In my most recent visit, I needed to rush order my prints and they were able to get them framed and available for pickup within 48 hours. The quality of prints both times have been professional and clean. In addition, Ive found their staff very helpful and friendly.
Been in a couple of times now to get my film developed and digitized, always turned out well without any complaints. Pricing is fair for the quality of work they do.
I am an amateur photographer and recently had a picture I had taken accepted into an art show. I needed to get a print of it made and wanted to make sure I had a high quality print done. I was told by a friend to go here and I was not disappointed. Their staff helped me get the print made and it didnt take longer than a few days for it to be ready. I felt the pricing was reasonable as well.
I have gone here to make birth announcements, wedding shower invitations, and now wedding invitations. I give them a template and photos and they make them look absolutely beautiful! They helped me pick the perfect font, perfect paper (never realized paper made such a difference) and they edit the pictures perfectly. They are very cost effective for all the work that goes in to the invitations and everyone I know has been impressed with their work. I will definitely continue using this company.
They are a very customer service oriented company. We greatly appreciated their assistance and service today!
We have used Nichols Photo Lab for years. They have great customer service and have really delivered for us when in a time crunch.
They did a great job developing some rolls of film, but took longer than I expected. After I put my card on file in the store, they lost the information and didnt let me know until I called wondering where my scans were.Overall okay experience.
If you are a photographer in Salt Lake, you really need to get to know Nichols Photo Lab. They are one of the few labs left in the valley that develop film in-house, has a quick turnaround, and consistently deliver superior results. They also handle all my large printing jobs for me. Thanks guys!!
Everyone is so great to work with at Nichols. Christy is excellent with customer service & she has been my sole photographer for over a dozen years! She does amazing work & I am so grateful I have her as a friend. Amber has designed my Christmas cards for years. She is amazing to work with & bends over backwards to make sure I love the finished product. Love love these guys!!!
I love Nichols. Everyone here is so kind and are really invested in what they do. It is clear they have a passion for their clients and take the time to work with each individual that enters their store. I can easily say my presence here is always wanted and very personable. They treat me like family and the feeling is mutual.
What I would call a high end old school photo lab. They have film! They develop film onsite. They have digital printing, wet and dry film process printing, and more. I have used their services and have been impressed every time. Specialty printing is also available. They print high school pictures too. Really anything you want to do, theyll do it. Wall sized pictures, custom mounted frames, this is the place for every printing need.
Great friendly service and a very speedy process with my negatives. Definitely a place to go for all your film needs
I owe these people my life! I called in a panic about 5 minutes before they were going to close on Friday, desperate to have a large order of prints made by Saturday morning. While they dont normally print on Saturdays, they told me theyd be able to do that for me, which was a tremendous relief. The employee who was in the lab on Saturday did a wonderful job printing them, and he had them ready for me to pick up even earlier than expected. I was nervous about the color, since I didnt have time to order any proofs before having the full run printed, but they turned out perfect and were exactly what I needed. The price was more than fair, and they didnt even charge me extra for the (very) rushed order. You folks are the salt of the earth, I cant thank you enough! I strongly recommend Nichols for anyone who needs to have high-quality prints produced.
Both times Ive taken film in Ive had developing errors that youre taught how to avoid in a beginner class. For a place thats supposed to be professional, they shouldnt be making these mistakes. Pretty sure Walgreens can do a better job
Nichols Photo Lab does outstanding work! I e-mailed a high-res image and picked it up the next day. It was perfect! I sent in a family photo to be enlarged and they did a beautiful job! Highly highly recommended!
They were able to do a rush order for me and restore two photographs for my sisters’s funeral. We were so pleased with the results! Thank you so much!
Had 8mm film put on a DVD. They dont send out, so I felt safe they wouldnt lose my 55 year old treasure. Theyve also printed for me. Great work!
I am a semi-professional photographer that just moved to the area and took a gamble choosing Nichols to print a photo for a client. I was not disappointed! Everything from the order process to the finished product was professionally handled, and most importantly the print came out with perfect tone and color. I will definitely be using Nichols as my photo lab from here on out.
As a professional photographer I go to Nichols Photo Lab because they do high quality professional prints. I have had a few people think that it is too much because they can get it done at a big box store or club store that will go unnamed but they quality of work at Nichols is so much better it isnt even funny. If you want a professional print go here. If you want a poor quality print you can go somewhere else. Further, Nichols can still develop film and they have great experience in it as well. your main local place for photography. You can also get prints done if you are out of state. It might not be as fast as a photo printing kiosk but you dont rush art.
There photos are good quality but there website was a huge turn off my husband convinced me they were good. Taking my future business elsewhere easier to place an order and looks more professional. No recommendations from me.
I had a digital photo enlarged at Walgreens and was very dissatisfied with the results. I took the same digital file to Nichols and their enlargement was a spectacular improvement. Since that experience I’ve taken advantage of their website to submit every photo I want printed. Their work is excellent!
Great service, good quality, photo service. This is the best place to go for high quality photo printing. They are very knowledgeable about what they are doing and happy to answer questions.
Good prices for film processing... For certain film. Check the price for your particular roll/size. For example, 24 exp c41 costs $3.25 but 36 exp costs $6.50?? Great service, film is processed quickly and quality is consistent.
We were expecting the photos to arrive after 5-7 days but they came the next day priority mail. It was during the week of Thanksgiving so we had the photos in time to share with family. They looked great!
My experience with Nichols photo lab has been very poor. I have used them a few times to develop and scan my rolls of film. Dont get me wrong, they can do that well. I am happy with the quality of my scans. However they seems like a very disorganized company. There was one time I got a call 6 MONTHS after a roll of film was developed telling me that it wasnt paid for? They had my card on file so I assumed it was taken care of. It happened again recently when they charged me double on my last roll because apparently they forgot to charge me for the roll before that? It is annoying being notified months later that something you thought was paid for actually isnt. I have decided I will not be using them any more.
Great place to get film developed. They do 35mm, 120, 4x5, E6, c41, and black and white processing.
Had a great experience getting my first roll of 35mm film processed and scanned. As someone whos new to film, they were extremely helpful and answered all of my questions.
. Ive used them professionally for over a decade.Always excellent work and service. Very accommodating. Robyn is a spectacular retouch artist.
I have an old Brownie camera and they can process my old 620 film. They are super quick.
Very good customer service I will be back again to do video transfers.
Needed some slides converted to Digital quickly for a funeral and they got done in like 5 hours even though I was told it would be 24 hours. Really saved the day for me, thanks!
Great products but poor communication and customer service.
I needed a photo printed with custom features and needed it done yesterday. Nichols Photo Lab went above and beyond to get it done for me in time. And the end result was absolutely beautiful! I love Nichols Photo Lab and highly recommend!!!!
Do not use this lab for 120 rolls. Sloppy careless work. Got four rolls back with scratches and holes in the last frame from clips/weights. Called the lab when i noticed. Technician claimed I loaded the film into the camera incorrectly (I did not, the film and camera have specific registration marks for this purpose.) No apology, and would take no responsibility.
Ive been going to nichols photo lab for 15 years. Best products. Awesome quality! Wonderful customer service!
Expensive but to my knowledge the only place in SLC to get pictures developed from film.
Delivered good quality scans of my photos. Were 1 day later than promised.
Always great service and beautiful prints
We are very fortunate to have the best photo lab anywhere, right here in Utah. As a professional photographer, Nichols Photo Lab has saved me in desperate situations countless times!
Great picture on the expense side.
I have received great service, and better yet communication from them when there was a issue with a 30x40 print, they handled it great and I will return to them again and again.
Excellent service and printing from a local shop. Highly recommend.
Amber was incredible helpful in getting a gift card prepared. Thank you!
One of the best professional photo labs in the country, certainly the best in Utah. Manager Paul Bitner is a master of color and tonal range, and lab color work is guaranteed.
Gone are the days of the 1-hour photo lab. What a shame it is to scramble all over the valley just to find a place to develop photos. Ive had my eye on Nichols for a good 6 or 7 months but never made the time to slide in and get my photos processed.I made a huge mistake last year. I took all of my Moab vacation photos on 35mm and got them done at Walgreens. I had good luck with them in the past, but as soon as they told me that they were shipping my film off to be processed I got a bit nervous. 10 days later, I get my prints back with no negatives! The prints looked like muddy hot garbage and all of my photos were ruined.I learned from my mistakes. I took my latest batch to Nichols to have them processed as I didnt have the materials to do it myself. I was happy with their services and it only costed me around 7 bucks to get two rolls processed! Excellent price! I cant comment on the quality of the prints as I only got the negatives processed (I have a film negative scanner at home so I didnt really need prints). The photos that they had up on the walls looked really great though.Although it took a whole day and nobody called me to tell me my film was ready (I called them the next day) I was still very happy with the outcome. Its sad that it is so hard to find a place who still develops 35mm film so I have a lot of respect for Nichols keeping the spirit of film alive. Ill be coming back when I am out of supplies at home and need my photos asap.
I have been using Nichols for years. Great quality and customer service!
Beautifully printed items and wonderful customer service.
Great customer service every time here!
Quality and service cannot be beat!
A wonderdul professional and friendly place
Always great
They CARE about their customers
The prints always look great!!!
Seems O.K., but not quit what I was looking for.... A bit pricey.I do a lot of photographic printing for resale, and cant pay this much, or Id have to charge too much myself to profit at all.
Poor service
Love it
Quality photo service and fast
