Couldn’t have had a better experience buying a bike with this shop. Margie, Joe, and Max were incredibly knowledgeable, so kind, and wonderfully helpful in putting together my dream bike. They went far above and beyond normal customer service and made the whole process super enjoyable. Saturday Cycles will be my one stop shop for all by bike needs from here on out!

First, Ive never been treated better by a bike shop. Second, Joe is some sort of voodoo bicycle magician and Im sure the rest of the people who work there are too.I went in there thinking car dealership and what I got was a bunch of guys who just like bikes a whole lot. If I wasnt restraining myself, Im sure they would have let me chew the rag the whole day. I got EXACTLY what I needed and the whole reason is because of their expertise and enthusiasm to help out. Go here!

Mark and his employees were great to work with. Cant recommend this shop enough. Too many bike shops have a car dealership vibe, but not Saturday Cycles. We bought my wifes Surly and they made sure that we got the best one to fit her needs - not merely try to sell us what they had in stock. The staff are friendly and well researched. Great shop to buy a bike from.

My husband and I went in last Saturday to look for a couple of new bikes for an adventure. Joe was incredibly knowledgeable and let us demo a couple of bikes. He set the bar incredibly high for service and bikes, but they didn’t have my size in the bike i wanted. We knew we wanted to check out some other brands, so we went on our mosey around the other bike shops around town. None of the other shops showed us the attention to detail or the bikes that met our desires like the team at Saturday Cycles did. Later that afternoon, we called them back to say we’d buy the bike for my hubby and asked them to think about how we could locate the right size for me. As we walked into the shop later that day, we waited for Joe, who had helped us earlier in the day. He was busy helping other customers, but Joe’s co- worker pointed out two bikes held for us. Low and behold, the Saturday Cycles team pulled the preverbial rabbit out of a hat. They found the bike i wanted in there shop and had it ready for me to test ride!! I’d recommend these guys everyday!

Far and above my favorite bike shop in Salt Lake City. Ive been to a number of bike shops while searching for the right bike to buy and this place is really quite outstanding. They carry a great selection of bikes, especially if you are looking at more of the city/commuter variety as opposed to high priced mountain bikes. They also carry brands like All-City and Surly that you dont see quite as much with the Trek dominated shops across SLC. Their customer service is what stands out the most to me, every single employee we have ever worked with there has been amazingly helpful, never acted condescending, and never made me feel like I was wasting their time. They were more than willing to take the time to find the bike that was the right fit, just a great experience, highly recommended.

I was super hopeful that this place would be awesome, as I ride quite a bit and the shop is close to my house. Unfortunately though, I found the owner to be quite rude and difficult to communicate with both on the phone and in person on 3 separate occasions. Its spring time, I know the mechanics are slammed.....but after calling to check on a wheel I had dropped off after 6 days: The owner couldnt even tell me when they would call me back with an update. In the end, I picked my wheel and took it to another shop who quoted me at 2 days, no big deal. I hope you have a better experience.

I love the feel of this place. Its a bit like walking into an old-school bike shop, a little cramped with stuff everywhere to make use of the small space. They carry a wide variety of bike types and accessories, not just carbon racing bikes. The staff are awesome. When I finally decided on the bike I wanted to purchase, it was already past closing time, and people were flowing in for a Surly anniversary party they had planned. But Max and Joe started assembling the bike for me anyway, delaying their party. It took them all of 27 minutes (super fast!).If you want a really awesome bike, check these guys out. I highly recommend them. Just dont show up on a Monday or Sunday because theyre closed ;)

Replaced something demonstrably unnecessary.I went to this bike shop because of the reviews and because of individual testimonies as to its reliability and quality. I will not return. I submitted my bike for a basic tune up. In an unrelated matter, one of the bike tires was depleted of air. Not due to any puncture. Not due to any flaw in the tube. It was just depleted of air a priori. They did not evaluate the state of the tube. They did not call me to ask about the state of the tube. They did not ask me if I wanted it fixed. They did not ask me if I wanted it replaced. They *did* charge me for a completely unnecessary replacement without any consultation. When I showed up to pick up the bike, they added a charge for a brand new tube that we had not agreed on beforehand. I told them that there was nothing wrong with the old tube. They told me that they had thrown the old tube out. This was unexpected. It was unwanted. It was unnecessary. They did it anyway. If you take your bike in for a tune up, make sure you make it *very* clear that they are to consult you before they make any additions to what is done or what is charged. They might do it if you ask. I can confirm without question that they will *not* do it if you dont ask. Moreover, Id suggest going somewhere else. There is no reason to believe that the unique characteristic of the unnecessary tube replacement was that it was unnecessary, but rather that I noticed it. What other unnecessary actions might have been charged or necessary actions were left undone that I didnt notice?EDITResponse to owner:My bike is not rolling smoothly. It is for that reason that I sought out a decent bike shop to perform a tune up. When your shop appeared in the top results, I realized that I had never publicized my experience and that, perhaps, many others with similar experiences had not either. As a result, Saturday Cycles was among the top results. I sought to remedy that.I will not be getting a tune up at Saturday Cycles. I will seek resolutions elsewhere for the reasons Ive specified. I encourage others to do likewise.

BUY LOCAL FIRST!!!.I went to buy tubes for my cheap bicycle. When you enter the store theres so many fine and nice bicycles that make mine look bad. However, these guys are just passionate about what they do, they never judged me or my bike. Theyre very helpful, but over all, they are VERY HONEST. They just wont try to slam you in things you dont want or need. Theyll advice you! I thought my wheels needed some alignment, but when I took them there, they said they were not bad, so things like these make me realize how honest they are in their business. It might just looked like something simple, but certainly know how to spot a BSer and these guys are certainly NO BULLS**T. Highly recommended!!!

By far best bike shop in town. Mark knew the specs of my slightly obscure 10 year old bike off the top of his head, and had parts for me in a couple of seconds. Our experience with Saturday Cycles was resoundingly and overwhelmingly positive. My partner and I began a 3,000 mile cycle tour from Saturday Cycles. Each and every member of the staff went to every length in setting up the bikes, offering advice on parts/setup/equipment/routes, and helping out in any way they could. We found their cycling knowledge to be honest, constructive and reliable. Put simply our tour wouldnt have been as successfull and smooth sailing without them. The shop itself is the holy grail for lovers of fine cycling: think steel, think practical, think beautiful, think useful. Everything they stock fits basically all those bills. An absolute gem of a place.

I took my bike in to have a new headset put in and a tune-up. I was quoted that the headset for my bike would cost $40 and the tune-up was around $60, but depending on what needed to be done, the price may change. I was fine with that and the guy helping me said they would call before they started work and that it would take about a week and a half to get my bike up and running. Fast forward three weeks, I called them to see how it was going. They informed me that they hadn’t even started work on my bike and that they also forgot to order the headset. They said it would take another week to get the headset in. Two weeks later I called them to find out what was going on. I was told that the $40 headset they ordered did not in fact fit my bike. The guy said he had one in the shop that would work (why did we waste a month if you had one on hand) but that it was $80 and he had to sand down an area on my bike to get it to work. (WHAT!). He told me about the sanding AFTER ALREADY DOING IT. I told him to stop working on it and that I would be in to pick it up on Friday. I ended up wasting a month and a week, being tricked into spending $55 on a headset I did not want, a sanded down frame, and no tune up! After, we tried to talk to a manager about it, MAX hung up on us mid-sentence. Terrible customer service, terrible bike shop. I will not be going back to this sham of a shop.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable, fun, and as far from pretentious as you can get. While most shops in SLC seem to cater to either the roadie or hardcore MTB crowd, you see folks from every form of cycling in Saturday. That is an especially refreshing thing for those of us out there who just want to get around, get things done, and have fun on a bike while doing it. Saturday Cycles is a wonderful place. They have over fifty bikes on hand for test riding and for sale, predominantly from the Surly and Salsa brands, and its a good mix of road and offroad bikes. There are other brands here also, like Bianchi, Masi, KHS, All City and Soma...its just that I paid all my attention to Surly and Salsa.Of bicycles, there are many different types and sizes, and are made from steel, aluminum, and carbon...and theyre all here at Saturday Cyles.Ive purchased several bikes from them over the past five years and continue to get the bikes serviced here. I love that this shop has worked with me over lowering price points for these bikes and accessories given my available funds at each time. Havent ever had that experience elsewhere.Test riding in the north SLC neighborhood is exceptional for the neighborhood roads have wide shoulders and varying slopes. You find out rather quickly how well the gearing will (or wont) work for you.If you want to order ANYTHING or get a set of questions answered, this is the place. They welcome everyone here. Exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable people work here. Youll be glad you came by Saturday Cycles.

Dont let the small, cramped space fool you; the knowledge contained here is epic. Mark, the owner, along with his excellent staff (Sumiya and Christine, to name a couple) are not only patient, but take the time to find what would work for you personally. They definitely run a business, and you will spend a pretty penny here, but it is not the almighty dollar that rules your transaction. They care about their clients and do their best to find the perfect fit, based on your needs, desires, budget, and physical composition. Further, they serve some wicked cookies at the counter. My personal experience. I came in with an old bike of my husbands and wanted to upgrade the bike, since it was free, to make it work for me. Hearing my desires, and my intended use, Mark told me he would do it, but it wouldnt work for the intended use. Knowing we didnt want to overspend, he suggested awesome purchases that perfectly suited my needs, without going overboard, imphasized safety over high fashion trend (ie fad), and helped us find a perfect solution. I was very impressed. Mark and his staff have passion in what they do and it is evident in how it is shared with their customers. P.s. To Sumiya, thanks for the jacket suggestion! It truly is sick!
