Oh my goodness! π² Best raised glaze taste and texture ever. (Love there is a Vegan option too.) And I went there around 4pm, so thats great that it was fresh. The girl working there was really kind and helpful too. Would love more Vegan flavor options though (there was only 1), including traditional doughnut flavors.
The donuts are cake like with interesting flavor. However, its quite underwhelming for $3.5 a piece plus automatically adding of 15% tip. Mostly likely would not be back.
Milk Money is incredibly disappointing. The only person working the counter was very nice, and the storeβs interior is cool, but the donuts were mostly flavorless and didnβt have a good texture. I also think theyβre just confused about what kind of business they are. Are they an ice cream place with a side of donuts? Or a tiny donut place with a side of ice cream? Pick one thing and do it well. Itβs pretty frustrating that they only offer three donuts a day and they rotate flavors. Unless you follow them on Instagram you wonβt know what flavors are on offer; the display case offers no indication aside from the one person serving all customers.
I UNDERSTAND!! shoutout to the girl working today @ 12 she convinced me to give the original a try and B O I am I glad I did. I told myself Iβll save some for my brother & I ended up eating 3/4 of itπ¬oops saved somthing lol. But itβs THAT good, definitely give it a try, definitely understand the hypeππ» my friend got 3, but overal definitely FAT yes for mee
Moved here from SoCal and this was my first Milk Money experience!!! Amazed at the staff and more amazed by the food. The vegan donut pastry with a vegan chocolate ice cream stole my heart. The caramelized topping spoke to me. Taste was awesome and the combination of the flavors will make me return. A definite must! I love this place!
Milk money has great and flavorful ice cream options. I can easily suggest this place!!
Nummers! Iβm not vegan but the vegan peanut butter filled is delicious. Super cute shop and the lady helping us was really nice. Great coffee from pachamama too. Check it out!
Honestly just donuts. They were decent. Too expensive for what it is.
Actual rating 4.5. Very good donuts! However, half the menu is always unavailable and a very limited selection is available.
I ordered and spent at least 25$and never got my delivery
There is a lack of variety at night. Go during the day. Theres not a lot of room to sit down. The donuts are good, fluffy, baked not fried. They have strange flavors as well. They have vegan donuts. Ive read they have gluten free...but unfortunately I didnt get there until late at night.
So good! My daughter said we had to go because the waffle cones are to die for...she was right! We were not disappointed by our ice cream choices. (Peanut butter drumstick, vegan almond joy and mint chocolate chip). We also sampled a couple of donuts and found that they were fantastic. Much better than chain brands. If youre looking for a delicious treat this is the place to go!
Holy Jumping Sloth riding a neon glowing cheetah throigh the center of town at midnight! Where have you been all my life. Lets start with the bigniets... Not too sweet, great texture and the cream filled ones were fantastic. But the sherbet... Oh my lord the sherbet. Poached cranberry was glorious with large chunks of cranberry. And the black pluot... Fan-freaking-tastic. Both were creamy, dense, richly and complexly flavored, and smooth. As. Silk. Please open a location in Maryland.
Came here on a Saturday. There was quick and friendly service. It has a good atmosphere. I can see why they have a lot of good reviews.
I like that these donuts arenβt too sweet. I brought some to work for coworkers and they liked that about them too. They go well with coffee. The chocolate pudding style donut was really good and I donβt even like chocolate. It taste more like an eclair, which I liked. They even had vegan donuts and vegan ice cream which Iβll try next time. Vegan ice cream from a shoppe is really hard to find. Usually the choices are limited to sorbets. The staff person was nice and lots of donuts left on Friday around 9:30. The box is cute. Parking is expensive. This is a small shop but the outdoor open quart yards makes up for it.
Fantastic donuts. Itβs a different take on your everyday dough. I love the texture and density. Like with everything itβs a preference. Not like store bought or the more traditional Marieβs. I prefer a less sweet dough, though lately I think they have been experimenting with sweetness. They get creative but for my taste give me a plain sugar donut. Last round we went they had their traditional, almond joy and a fruit pebble. All delicious but too sweet for me.Yes, they are pricier but I recommend for a different twist. Letβs see what they have to offer next time we visit.
The best donut shop Iβve ever bought from. I love that they have vegan options that donβt skimp on flavor! Though the flavors change daily, they post in advance on Instagram what theyβre releasing, making it easy for customers to see whatβs on the menu. Their vegan βSummertime Sadnessβ Strawberry Basil and βSo Matcha Loveβ Sesame/matcha flavors are to die for! Super friendly staff is also a plus!
I dont think Sacramento is quite ready for a $3-4 donut. Kinda reminds me of Top Pot in Seattle. Donuts are good though although not priced like Maries. This is for someone who likes to indulge but not get a dozen for others. Just wished they had more flavors to offer.
This donut shop is awesome. They are constantly creating new types of delicious donuts. Stop by and order one of each- you wont regret the flavor party.
The only reason why this review is not a 1-star is because I appreciate the creativity in flavors. Having said that....I did not enjoy the donut I bought. The taste could definitely be improved and I dont quite understand the density in texture. On top of that, quite pricey! This is a NO..... thumbs down....try again.
In the new age of dessert places this one is taking a fresh look a treats. I really liked it. Unusual ice creams that broaden your sweet palate and donuts that redefine what a donuts are.
It was so fresh. The staff was very kind and attentive. This place has a great atmosphere. This place has good reviews for a reason.
The donuts here are the best in Sacramento, they are delicous and fresh! Every flavor is the best and that is the truth! The Orange one is so good, I love these donuts!!!
Milk Money offers donuts and ice cream. On the Friday of our visit they made 500 donuts and sold out within 40 minutes of their 8 am opening. The ice cream flavors are unique and made on site. They have a vegan option. We tried the honey ice cream and the flavor was very subtle (we missed it) and the texture was very dense and not creamy. It was more like frozen cake.
The ice cream is awesome. I highly recommend the peanut butter-based cone on a waffle cone. Very good.
I liked the cocoa nib, and the donuts there were sweet, and tasty
The majority of the ice cream seemed to be vegan which I was not expecting. Nice that they had some interesting flavours but the texture of the bits in the ice cream wasnt very pleasant.
Design is on point. Donuts are definitely different, but my whole family enjoyed them. They are more dense and less sweet than your traditional $6 per dozen shops, but thats what gave it a bit of elegance. My son totally loved the vegan chocolate donut and my daughter enjoyed the cream filled donut.Im reading a lot of comments of people disappointed in the donuts, but if youre expecting a cheap overly sweet donut, then this is not the right place for you. Even my friend who bought them and brought them to my house said she preferred a more traditional donut (which is probably why I ended up with a box of them).
Went and ordered a dozen which is $33.00. We had gotten there just in time before the rush! They were out of the peanut butter, but not the other flavors. So we had to wait 15 min.Upon returning, they had given away the other flavors?? So we had to wait another 15 min. Poorly run place, especially for a family who drops a chunk of cash per visit. Bummer.
This is quite the instagrammable, aesthetically captivating shop that is all the rage in the Bay Area, with the high price to match. That would be fine, if the donuts were actually good. These are impressively bland.
Amazing vegan donut options. Jam filled are the best. Also great vegan ice cream options
Fantastic just about everything and if its cracked up to be
Everyone at our table was glad to be there. the staff was friendly and sociable. the prices are fair for the quality of food.
Doughnuts are too dense to enjoy like a regular doughnuts. But the ice cream is pretty bomb
I give this spot two thumbs up. i had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. prices were average for the menu.
Love the density of these donuts and how theyβre not overly sweet! I hate how so many donuts taste just like pure sugar. These great! A little expensive though..
How can you f up a donut...Too cute by half but at least better than the ice creams. Somethings werent meant for radical alternatives.
Came here on a saturday. i look forward to a return trip. the bill was reasonable. feeling here is similar to a place in columbus i liked.
This place is impressively bad. All the hype was for nothing. The flavor combinations are really cool... But there is not a lick of salt in these donuts, so they are insanely bland. I would be disappointed to have paid $1 for these, but they are like $3.50... yall need to fix your dough. I get that its brioche, and thats not traditionally salty... But maybe you should have gone a little non traditional?TLDR: Save your money, go to the donut store on the corner.
Quick, helpful, and friendly service. The place has a great atmosphere.
The donuts are Brioche donuts so they are denser than your usual donuts. Wasnt too impressed with them but the boyfriend and I did enjoy the ice cream. It is a bit pricier especially since it is located in the Ice Blocks.
The best donut and ice cream I have ever had. I was also impressed by the customer service.
Um donughts but 20.00 for 6.
I feel this place is more of a four, but Im voting to balance off the negative reviews.Yes, this is expensive, but this is part of the donut as a pastry movement, which means youre getting a high quality pastry shaped like a donut. Do you expect a good pastry to be dirt cheap? Then there you go.That said, it could still stand to be cheaper and when donut bar finally sets up shop here, Im not sure Milk Money will be able to keep up with their quality, prices, and huge variety of donuts. That said, their signature donut, which has a hint of a variety of flavors, including orange, is quality and has a great pillowy yet dense texture inside and a great lightly sweet flavor with a creamy glazing. Its good stuff and midtown is fairly short on strong desserts other than just buying chocolates at Sees, Ricks being all aesthetic and little substance.Freeport Bakery is still the premier dessert spot in sac thougb
Al hype no tast, dnt waste yur mony.
Great donuts!
The location is very aesthetically pleasing however the donuts are stale by afternoon. I was hoping for a little more flavor.
Great donuts! Their signature donut is to die for.
I had the almond joy vegan ice cream on a cone and it was delicious!
I donβt like coconut or lime but their vegan coconut lime donut was soooo good ππΌ
At least, a weird donuts place in Sac! I love it!
Visited the establishment today with my 7yr old son. 2 donuts $7.50. Hmm... They tasted 6/10 and were different. Props for that, but way to expensive. Im a big foodie but this place is not for me.
Service and Doughnuts were ok at best (3 for over $10!). Im always down to pay for food, but these were nothing special. Drove to Maries afterwards and grabbed a dozen
The flavor combos at this place is out of this world
Donuts are sublime. Worth every penny.
Great for the price. Open late too
Went here a few days ago and they were out of donuts, ok. However the cashier kept trying to push the ice cream on us and got offended when we said no. We asked if they were out of donuts and all she said was try the ice cream. Lame.Went again and all they had were donut holes. Ok got them and they tasted stale, I literally spit it out on the ground. Cheap ingredients Im guessing.Go here to take pictures of pretty donuts for Instagram but if you want real donuts go somewhere else.
The donuts are so good!
Disappointed.Doughnuts are dense and flavors are not bold. Not very sweet either. Definitely not worth the hype or price. Tried the Boston cream, raspberry, and one with popcorn on it (I canβt remember what it was called), on Oct 30. I was particularly disappointed by the Boston cream as this is usually a favorite flavor combination of mine. The cream inside had nice texture but very little flavor, the bread was dense and offered no flavor, and the chocolate on top was dark and almost bitter.Update:Nov 8 - Gave them a second try. Continually disappointed. The huckleberry doughnutβs glaze and berry topping actually had some flavor, but the bread was poorly executed. You can see where the frying oil had soaked into the doughnut when you bite into it. Like a ring of saturation around a dense and flavorless center. My mouth felt coated in oil after eating it. The hazelnut doughnut had a better texture, but the flavor is lacking. The chocolate topping was almost bitter, so the entire doughnut was bland and definitely not sweet.
Very expensive (like $4 each or something like that), and soaking oily hipster donuts.
Not sure why not more starts. These donuts are legit. If you dont like them, you probably dont like puppies, or rainbows. I digress. Youve got to try the donuts.
A preferred evening place. Ill return family next time.
Very nice I like it
Marcus Cepeda is such an awespiring donut shop worker
Milk Money is NOT ADA compliant as the only way in is blocked by tables and chairs and they wont move the one next to the buildings corner. Just another place choosing to not allow we the disabled access.
These donuts tasted like stale dinner rolls smeared with icing and barely filled. Avoid this place at all costs.
Expensive, donuts are dense and not flavorful. Good for pictures
Didnt look too tasty
Wich it was open late.
Was a bit disappointed with the donuts..... Didnt try their ice cream as most of the flavors were tea oriented.
Good donuts for sure but fairly expensive.
I didnt order I was with somebody look like a good place
Good food and good people
Absolutely love this place
Fantastic doughnuts!
Not sure if this was the worst donut Ive ever had, or just the most disappointing.
No milkshake is worth that price!
Delicious vegan options
Good ice cream
Overpriced with poor flavor.
Bad
