Great store for rc car and truck hobbyist they have some awesome vehicles and tones of parts but airplane parts are running low at this location it seems

Went in yesterday cause my car was acting up.They had it fixed in 5 minutes. Then when I ask if there was anything else I needed they where honest and said no. Cool little store great employees awesome selection.

Awesome place to buy from. The gentleman that worked there helped us pick an RC car for our sons birthday and he absolutely loves it.

This was our first time visiting. This store is way bigger on the inside than it looks! It has all kinds of cool games, model cars, buildable figurines, rc cars and boats, and so much more! My son was amazed by all the cool trucks! We will definitely be back now that my son knows how awesome this store is!

This place is absolutely amazing. It has so much stuff that places like hobby lobby just don’t carry. Specifically, my son was rebuilding a Traxxas car, and had no idea what to do. Not only did Joseph walk him through the process, he also pointed out parts that were needed and repaired a bad hose. The car was back to us in less than 2 days at a very minimal price. We tipped him extra, it was so cheap. And he was so helpful. He was young, but definitely knew what he was doing, and would be a great asset to any company requiring tech knowledge. We were blown away. Thank you Joseph for helping my son. And I’m grateful that hobbytown had all the parts and knowledge we needed. We are new and very happy customers, and are telling our friends with similar hobbies.

Went in after being told if I bought a motor there theyd switch it for free and it was made a repair order so I went home put the esc in m self ran into a problem took it to this hobbytown after being told over the phone they take care of it write there only to be dropped off and waited 2 weeks to get my car plus paid 57$ for the install guess thats ok if thats what ya call good service 🤷‍♂️

Price matching for online stores and extremely personal employees. Just upgraded my Radcat Shredder V2 ESC to a Max8 150A running 6s. Had a hard time soldiering so I took it up here and they did a BADA$$ job. Im in this store at least 3 times a week.While they dont even sell parts or cars from Redcat Racing, which is currently all I have, they are always willing to help me fix my car and help me find parts through other stores or online. Because of this I will go out of my way to buy from this location, Ive got like 8 batteries now lol.. Kelso specifically has earned my respect as he is always looking out for my best interests but the rest of the staff is certainly on par as well. Ive left my phone here and other small items all being returned to me without question.Purchased Items:Pro-Line 3.8 Badlands 17mm hexACE gen 7000mah 3s Lipo2x Ace gen 5200msh 2sConnectors12mm to 17mm Hex Traxxas AdapterGrease and Shock OilIll be picking up a lot more as soon as I feel ready to jump I to 6 or 8s gear.I hope this store picks up some Redcat parts but I understand that Id probably be the only customer but you never know.

Terrific hobby store, great selection of Gundam models and accessories. The gentlemen were friendly and polite. They were also helpful without being over bearing, which I appreciate. Prices are comparable to online purchases, which is great. Excellent location as well.

Staff was very friendly but way over priced and they do not allow refunds per the receipt even on unopened packages. You can exchange but not get a refund. I paid $180 for a drone that Walmart sells for $105.

I started recently in the quadcopter world, Luis really has extensive knowledge on the subject and has squared me away more than once. Then I picked up some BNF drones and had a few minor issues and he straightened me out. I have heard his name more than once around the DFW area in the quad world and he does well to live up to his reputation. Joaquin took the time to show me how to fly more consistently, hes young but he shows great promise.Thanks to the whole staff there, I know several of you guys have really helped me as I get off the ground.One comment I do have, I would like to see more DIY quad parts there.

Fantastic costumer service! I brought in a broken musical gingerbread house. Although the type of item that needed repair wasnt in their normal wheelhouse, they repaired it quickly. I felt like family, joking with the employees while they made the repair. They sell more than hobby cars, planes and drones. Great place to get toys and board games. I purchased very reasonably priced building blocks. I will be back.

Not the biggest store but has gotten a lot better with the new management. Has become my home store.

Expensive, and not to informative they give you no information, if you dont ask the right questions there not telling you. And when you need some to go with your purchase they just say, here you will need this. Luckily I know what I kind of wanted and that saved me 60 dollars. If you buy here then do your research before you go.

Great place when it comes to Hobby Supplies and RC stuff. Some will think their prices are a little bit high compared to other places but they have specialized tools and materials for your hobby and their employees are knowledgeable. Only downside is their reward system, because every store is independently own you cant use rewards from one store on another store.

This is a great place to find a gift for many different hobbies. The staff is top notch and so knowledgeable; they answered all of our questions in depth. We’ve been here three times in the last 2 months, and we will continue to come here for our RC car, airplane, or train needs.

Called Friday before closing,clerk answered my incoming phone call,to which I asked, will yall be open tomorrow? He answered me,oh yeah,eleven to five.I understand the virus has shops closed and/ or hours irratic,but I came all the way from the other side of DALLAS(BELTLINE@I30) to purchase some fuel and other assorted nitro rc parts. Was going to spend around a hundred bucks. Now. I feel like its amazon or eBay that will get my money. It just didnt sit well with me. I may be crying in my milk but it sucked. Chris G. Had a great time purchasing the car but after few day while it broke the axles i brought back up there to get work on they told me to call traxxas very poor costumer service i dont know his name but he had red hair and beard at rockwall store

The staff was very friendly and appeared to be very Knowledgeable. I came in looking for an item they didnt carry. The associate even looked to see if their distributor had it, up on finding they didnt he looked someone who did. I got the information I needed and if I need what they carry (RC car, or plane ) I will definitely see them.....

Nice people but not cheap

Great selection of what I was after (Gunpla), including some hard to find kits. Bought two kits, one slightly higher than online prices (only available via import right now) and the other much lower. Definitely worth the trip!

Brought in 3 remote control cars and asked for them to be repaired, at least one of them, within a few days because it was my son’s birthday. Was told they would try. Never got a callback, went back up there a week later nothing has been done. Call two weeks later and They still haven’t looked at the cars. Still no one called me to tell me or give me a status. Completely unacceptable customer service. Completely unacceptable wait time. Do they just expect customers to drop the cars off and leave them for months on end? Nope, I think not.

Low rating just because R/C airplane parts, accessories, and kit inventory has been dwindling rapidly. Easier most times just ordering online than wasting a trip to their store. That being said, the staff is always friendly and and helpful.

Found some Models, masks required, n0t crowded, friendly personnel.

I just needed batteries on this trip. Fast and courteous service. Seems knowledgeable as we discussed briefly some on the different Traxxas models. Prices are lower than I was expecting. Thanks!!

I dont know how the Rockwall store is still in business. I went in to get a dji mavic mini, and no one asked if they could help me at all. I was standing at the counter looking at it, ready to buy. I waited, and the wife and I walked out and then someone said to have a good day. It would have been a sale on the spot if I wasnt ignored. Ive had lousy service in the past, but was giving them a chance because I was in the shopping center they are at. I wont make that mistake again!

Awesome place to visit to find all sorts of hobby related gear, from RC Planes, Trains, Boats, Cars, Airsoft and Scale Model vehicles. Prices can be higher than finding similar gear online, but still an awesome place for hands-on shopping experience.

I visit Hobbytown for plastic model building supplies. Prices are very good, they seem eager to help, I usually have a good experience visiting and spend about 1 hour per visit.

Fun, friendly staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Franchised hobby stores with that “mom & pop” kind of vibe.

This place is great with extremely helpful people working here. You can tell they have a passion for rc stuff. They have a good selection of fpv drone parts and are always glad to help and answer questions.

Not much in the way of airplane parts and supplies but if youre looking for someplace to spend money on a new car, drone or boat..they got ya covered

Unfortunately the customer service here is less than adequate and the prices are relatively High. For this kind of money you want people that are going to really help you and take the time to work with you and its just not here... unless youre in there little click youre nobody to them

Got an awesome beginners kite and the service was great!

Be careful & pay attention when checking out. Each item has a retail price & HobbyTown price. Both times Ive bought from here, they rang the items up at retail price. I caught it the first time, pointed it out & he apologized and then gave me at the Hobby Town price. Went a second time & didnt realize until I was back home, (50miles away) that they did it again. So I ended up paying $20 more than what it said it cost. I am beginning to wonder if this is done on purpose.

Great experience friendly staff

Bought 2 LiPo batteries as part of a $450 purchase of Traxxas Slash, charger and extra batteries. I was charged $49 each for the batteries. Shopping for additional accessories online I noticed the same batteries advertised on HobbyTown’s website for $39 each. With batteries and receipt in hand, I returned to the store 2 days later and asked Hobby Town Rockwall to honor the advertised price. I spoke with Keith, the manager. I showed Keith the batteries, receipt and online advertisement. He began by telling me that something like that would need to be presented at the time of purchase. He ended by telling me that Hobby Town Rockwall wasn’t required to honor advertised prices from “corporate”. I tried to do the right thing by supporting a local store. I should have just bought this stuff from Amazon. All Hobby Town stores just lost all my future business thanks to the actions of Hobby Town Rockwall. If local brick and mortar stores wonder why Amazon is killing them, look no further.

I actually visit this location frequently for years now and have had nothing but good things to say about the employees, especially Joe and Bruce. They have always pointed me in the right direction or pointed me toward the bigger facility in Dallas. Ive read some negative reviews here, but many of them complain about prices or receiving no help. First of all, it is a hobby not toys, yes they will be more expensive; and if you read the signs posted in the store, in order for the employees to work on YOUR vehicle, there is a timed charge fee. Joe has always been honest when recommending a product there and really backs a product if he has had experience with it. I have been to many hobby shops around the DFW and even in Austin, Belton, Houston, and Oklahoma. You will get great service here.

What you can expect from a hobby store. I fly a drone and their not too experienced in that department except for one guy who knows his stuff. But they have a ton of options and items for multiple hobbies.

Very knowledgeable of there stuff was very helpful and prices are very good
