The list is coordinated in red, yellow, and green in ascending order of importance. This really helped me prioritize the necessities and understand potential future maintenance for my vehicle. The inspection revealed services that need to be done right away and others that ca be prioritized, making easy to budget and plan car maintenance. One of the most impressive aspects of the inspection was the report. It contained photographed and pictures to illustrate the findings, along with photos/pictures of what these parts should look like.This inspection facilitates the selection and purchase of used cars using an educated approach to it. These guys couldn’t have been more professional, honest, and the service I received was done in a very reasonable amount of time. I would highly recommend them!

One time there was an issue with my my scheduled windshield repair (their glass guy hadn’t come in) so they bought me lunch while I waited for my other repairs and then scheduled the window guy to come to me so I didn’t have to take off work. Looked at ratings for local repair shops when I knew I needed a brake job and noted that Preferred had excellent references on multiple platforms. Had an excellent conversation with the owner when I dropped off my car - primarily talked about our personal interests but also about the next steps. Got a call the next morning (I dropped off late the day prior) outlining the recommended services along with a report that showed the status of 50+ services with pictures and links to articles that explained why they were needed. I hadnt done anything on my car since I purchased it 3 years ago except bring it in for oil changes do it wasnt a surprise that other services were needed. I would rather have this done by a local garage than a dealership, which is typically very expensive. Happy with the results, car was washed before I picked it up, expect to use them for our other vehicles as well.

We have been taking our cars to Gary and his team for several years now. And most importantly they keep track of what our car services our car has had done and what it needs and have always kept an open line of communication via phone text and email.Heres another small but huge thing for me: a few years back my daughter and I were on vacation and had an issue with my cars starter. We were 4 hours away from Preferred but I called them anyway. I spoke to Todd (a dream!) who quickly diagnosed the issue over the phone. Because they keep such accurate records of our vehicle he was able to tell me when that part had last been addressed and explained why it may have been an issue now. Our 2001 Sportrac cranks but won’t start. Preferred Automotive replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter. They recommended replacing the Mass Air Flow sensor as well. The engine starts and runs smoothly now. They also found the source of the slow leak of engine coolant. They replaced that. They checked the truck all around and made good recommendations. I’m a first time customer. I’ll take my truck to them again for knuckle busting jobs I can’t handle on my driveway. Thanks Todd and Gary.

Preferred Automotive never disappoints. They keep the 4 cars in my extended family in good shape and I can always trust them to do what is needed, and not to do things that are not needed.

My car was making a noise near the driver seat area so I scheduled an appointment with Todd at preferred automotive for a diagnostic. The shop only gives morning appointments if you plan to wait. The Mechanic Alex took 2 thorough hours to do the diagnostic. Todd provided me with the updates that Alex provided in a detailed report with pictures for everything that was inspected and checked in my car. I really liked the visuals since you can see what work needed to get done without the uncertainty. Also the report was set up based on urgency of repair which is great. I agreed to repair the following necessary work: battery replacement, engine filter replacement, coolant cap replacement, and the front metal piece near my front tire since it was causing the noise near my driver area. I have been driving my car for the past three days and so far so good. I appreciate the work and detail this shop provides and I recommend it for its level of detail and service.

I find going to the auto shop/mechanic and getting my car fixed rather stressful. I feel like there aren’t many in the area that can be trusted for good, thorough service and to give you honest/informative feedback on the work that your car needs without extremely overcharging the customer.I was recommended to go to Preferred Automotive for a second opinion on work my car desperately needed. I was really frustrated and nervous because I didn’t want the same same runaround I was experiencing from a bigger named auto shop. However, once I received the complete rundown of what my car needed (it’s old too) and going over the diagnostic with Todd, I felt confident that my car would be fixed and would be in good hands. I was also afraid of the cost but having the ability to see and read what work my car would need (they provide a virtual report), made Todd’s explanations of what was urgent vs. what would could be done later, much easier to understand and feel confident in that the car was getting the best service. The work I needed to get done was pricey but my car is driving much better and I feel safer in it since I picked up a few days ago, after it being serviced at this shop.I highly recommend this shop for complete, clear and thorough service & diagnostics. They also vacuumed my rugs and washed the exterior, which I’m very thankful for especially since I haven’t had it cleaned since March! They were not pushy at all, and the prices seemed very reasonable. Great same day turnaround after calling them one morning. I had to get the locking wheel bolts taken off, since the key was lost. They also asked if I would like them to perform a thorough going over of the car. Very happy with my decision to take my car to Preferred Automotive. My vehicle was having some serious issues with my driver side wheel and needed attention. In my mind, I thought I was only getting an inspection done before making an appointment to fix the issue like most places, but to my surprise, Preferred Automotive and there great team got right to work. I first brought my VW to Preferred because my sister had such a good experience with them; they were able to fix her cars AC when other garages couldnt figure out what the problem was. Everyone at Preferred that I talk to is helpful, knowledgeable and explains things in a non-condescending way. This last time they were especially great. I needed expensive repairs for a water pump, but because of a regular maintenance coolant flush, I had an extended warranty that saved me $735. And because they keep excellent record of the work they do on your car, they were able submit all the paperwork for me. Long story short, I highly recommend them.

My truck broke down on the way home and this is the first shop I cam across. Towed it there and they had it fixed in a couple of days. Turns out transfer case went bad. Guys gave me a quote and fixed it correct the first time. Very direct and straight forward people. Also I am my own mechanic and I do my own work, due to me being out of town and not having my own equipment I never take any of my vehicles to shops, but In this case I am not home. It also reported things that were in good condition and things that could be put off and when they are usually performed. It gave me a clear explanation with actual pictures of my car’s parts so it was easier to communicate. I don’t usually need it back right away, but this time I had somewhere to go and they got it all completed in time. My car doesn’t make any weird sounds anymore and drives like it’s new again!

I first took my car to Preferred Automotive because it was convenient to work as I could just walk. But, I return because they are dependable, trustworthy, cost effective and have state of the art equipment. My husband is a very skeptical person, so this standard allows him the pleasure of knowing our cars are being taken care of. She had her oil and filter changed and her tires rotated. Her Mechanic also pulled a screw from one of her tires and plugged the hole. Im sure shes feeling looked after and taken care of now!

TLDR: They are honest and competent. My perception is that they have enough business to not feel any pressure to sell work that is unnecessary and not in the best interests of the customer.I left my car in their care on the recommendation of both my brother and my wife. My brother selected this place due in large part to their online reviews/reputation.My car had been making a rattling noise and so I took the car in to be serviced. I received a call a short time later letting me know that they had identified where the rattling noise was coming from and a few other maintenance items I should consider taking care of while the car was in the shop. Which is pretty standard in my experience.When I picked up my car the front desk agent took me through the work done and the attendant charges. When I asked questions I received thoughtful and thorough responses. After some probing I realized that they could have recommended more work and thus increased their fee but had chosen not to because they did not feel it was necessary or in my best interest.I think that if I had not asked additional questions I would not have found this out. I attribute this to a culture of honesty as a matter of routine. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants honest and competent mechanics.

They were a bit pricey, but their customer service was on point and they got me and out... & even text me when they were done...

My experience at Preferred Automotive was fine. I knew my Malibu had problems but I didnt know what they were. Preferred Automotive diagnosed the issues, which they clearly explained to me. The work was done in two days, and since picking up car and paying the bill, all seems to be functioning well.
