Super cool shop! Have everything you need (in ample stock) for your VW powered vehicle and the expertise to help you out. Came in for the first time today and got help from the 1st guy to greet me, then another customer chimed in with some pointers, then another employee from the service side. Excellent customer service and that personal small shop feel that every good VW shop should have.

Went early on a Saturday, so service was quick. Mike was very helpful. Selection of items for your air-cooled engine is extensive. Prices were very good and beat JBugs for what I was ordering.

Excellent work and service

I recently took in my Volkswagen Beetle due to an oil leak. I was originally quoted $200 to fix the issue but after I dropped it off they kept increasing the price to resolve my issue. The price ended up escalating to $2200 and I paid it after I was assured the leak would be patched up. I drove the car for 10 miles and to my disappointment the leak persisted. I went back to the shop and told them that they hadnt fixed the problem. After inspecting my car i was quoted another $1000 to fix my original problem which I had already paid $2200 for. This shop is a fraud and it is unacceptable to conduct service in the way that they do. I was charged over 10 times what I was originally quoted and they didnt even do the job right and refused to fix it. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere if you dont want to be abused.

The new guy is very friendly and helpful not like some others that work there. You should hire more like this new guy!!!! Service is everything!!! Service equals success!!!!!!!

One of the specialized places in classic VW and beyond... air cooled cars, from bugs to buses to 914 /911 Porsche. A lot of parts in stock, included some used parts, very knowledgeable employees. Edit, after few months : I dropped my review to 1 star because the totally uncool/ patronising way they talked to me when I request just to talk to someone about machining a cilinder head. They refuse to even consider quote me a simple opperation unless I leave the part with them come back some other time. I live 60 miles away so I could not let it and come back for just a simple quote one can get in 2 minutes. If they do not welcome their clients Im moving my business elswere... I can not recommend their shop or their machine shop anymore. BTW...the part i need it quoted was damaged due to a failure of an new EMPI carb set sold to me by this very shop.

Do not take your VW to this place. They are dishonest and thieves! They will tell you what you want to hear so that you will leave your car, best believe theyll be calling you back trying to squeeze more money out of you. Yes they sell VW parts pricing is different depending on who you buy the parts from.

Ive been buying sandrail parts at Car Craft for years. The prices are the best you can find, comperable with internet prices. The difference: Ed wont hardly let you out the door until hes sure you know what youre doing in installing the part. Hes a wealth of knowledge on the air-cooled machines.I recently needed help with rebuilding and tuning my motor, so I let them have it. I was very pleased with the work they did, and I seldom let anyone touch my vehicles because of shoddy work that others do. The mechanics did a great job on the rebuild and tuning and came outside to talk about the work when I picked up the car. The job was done when promised, and I didnt even expect that.The only comment I have about improvements would be less Made in China or Taiwan parts in the store itself. I believe that while some customers come in to save every dollar possible, the majority will spend more for quality parts. I do.

I been comming here for about 1 year to get my bug Service and repairs, Ed and the rest of staff are great, but been talking to the Owner SHANE, about the same issue i been haveing with my car and I been paying to have it look at and his response is, that he Dosnt, need my money and he refuses to work on it! Well thats a crapy way to help a customer, am not asking for a refund am just asking to do it right, I always have you guys put new parts, unless there fefected. Point is I pay for Service and anything that needs to be replace, And Shane if you really dont need the money than why are you working at the shop retire Please and let a real profesional run the place. Me and my daughter will go somewere else. Thank you Staff I will miss you guys.

Where to begin...Im not at all shocked to see the other negative posts here. After another shop failed miserably, I decided to get one of Car Crafts zero mile 1700cc engines. They were polite until they had my bus hostage, then they were total pricks. My engine? Has not stopped leaking oil since I picked it up. The first leak I found was due to their having re-used a torn o-ring distributor seal. I fixed that with another shop (used as my witness). Next leak was the oil sender (no thread sealant). Then the front crank seal and the fuel pump gaskets. All of this in under 1000 miles. And the carburetor they sold me is complete crap and wont idle properlyWhen I spoke to the owner about these problems (and his staffs lies) he said all VWs leak and insisted that theres a mystifying difference between a drip and a leak and he defended the liar. I didnt mention the carb to him. The last thing Ill do is take the bus back to them to fix any of this. Theyre dishonest, rude and theyre liars. If you take your VW to them, be ready to bend over, and keep bending over chasing your oil Drips Mine driped at a rate of 1qt per 400 miles. I now have it down to dripping 1/3qt every 1000. Buyer BEWARE!

I called to get a little info about some heads to buy the dudes attitude was horrible and ive bought stuff from them that didnt work tried to take it back under the 30 day warranty the wouldnt take it back talking about it against ca law to take back a carb after you put it on the car .. really .there is alot more but ill just go some where else .im done with them.

They are rude, like they dont wanna do business. I went one day took my car and they told me to go the next day, next day same thing third day left it there the whole day passed then they called me and just told me that they are are not gonna touch it because I have an aftermarket radio.
