I want to start this review off by saying this has nothing to do with Aarons machining skills or knowledge in engine building. This has to do with a closed mind set, exclusive work, non-collaborative nor lenient in the work of others but those he chooses.I was in contact with Aaron through Instagram about machining an engine I had. I had told him I got a deal on a golden eagle sleeved block and wanted him to finish up the machining because all that was done was the sleeve and piston hone. I still needed the head CNCed, rods, pistons and bearing tolerances done, and I was recommended like many others. He initially told me he was not comfortable working on an already touched block by golden eagle which I thought was strange and he suggested I sell it and have him sleeve me a new one with Darton sleeves. I explained to him that I bought the golden eagle sleeved block for practically nothing and I intended on keeping this engine, but never the less he agreed to work on it. I also had told him I wanted Tom at Port Flow to do the head and Aaron told me he has no problem with Toms work which I thought was great because I like bringing business to all areas of the car community. As a few months passed I get to Arlington machine shop and bring in my stuff to be worked on. I remind Aaron of our conversation and he immediately rejects me. He puts up a wall and says that he will not machine my engine or head if he himself is not the one assembling it. As I remind him of our previous conversation when he had no issues in doing the work I needed but claims there are liability concerns that he doesnt want brought to him. I tell him we can waive liability in writing but continues to say he will not work on what we had previously agreed upon. He also begins to discredit my engine builder which use to work for RS machine in Norwalk and now has his own shop in San Bernardino. Im glad Aaron takes pride in his work, but he takes too much ownership. You do not own the engines Aaron and believe me when I say this, you are not the only machinist out there. I came to you based on a recommendation I left today disappointed in you as a person, as a machinist, and as a person with no integrity.I see through his liability claim and could tell that he sells sleeve work to a friend, and orders parts as a normal co-operating business will do. The principle is that he agreed on something and refused my business as I drove one hour to get to him.Now this portion is a disclaimer from myself, Arlington machine will not work on anything that is not machined or assembled by him. So if you bring in your things that have already been slightly worked on he will refuse you.You seem tense Aaron, pick your head up and accept a challenge, do what you are good at. You want to build a reputation? start by creating a positive one with the customer.
