After purchase assistance via the store with Kim, Sheila and Doug has been awesome! We will never shop anywhere else for furniture.The buying process was easy but had an issue with the wrong nightstands being ordered as well as the wrong size of drawer pulls for the top drawers in all pieces. It was corrected immediately however and without issues, so again, great service.
I would never suggest Bassett furniture. We spent nearly $6k on a couch, a chaise lounge, and ottoman and they are terrible quality. Weve had these items for only a year and a half and the cushions are sagging and the back pillows are lumpy and also sagging. Not to mention how bad the fabric is pilling. These furnishings look down right awful. I have been in contact with them since December about the issue. They finally agreed to only replace the bottom cushions since it was *slightly* over a year. During this time we had to relocate to Texas and now they refuse to pay shipping to have them sent even though it took so long for them to come to this conclusion and manufacture and send the items. Worst customer service Ive received especially for items we spent so much money on. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.Edit: I am happy that they have finally agreed to pay shipping but that does not change the quality of the furniture.
Do not buy the protection plan - it is not worth it. It does not cover anything worthwhile.The sales team is very pushy. I felt pressured into making a choice before i was ready. I regret my purchase.
I have purchased from Bassett before and had a great experience furnishing most of my den and kitchen. Recently I ordered a rug and enjoyed working with my salesperson. Once I realized the rug would not fit the area too well, I called and tried to cancel the rug. I was told that it had already shipped and that they couldnt cancel it but I could return once it arrived. After not one single email or call, I arrived home to find this huge rug dumped. I would never have been able to bring the rug into my house alone on top of not expecting it. If it had been one day later, I would have been on vacation no one to bring it in for a week. I called and the store manager Patrick picked it up and he promised me that hed take care of it and Id be credited on my credit account. I assumed he had taken care of it, until I got a finance charge for not paying. I have made SEVERAL attempts to get the credit taken care of. Worst service from this manager. No phone calls and no credit to my account after a month since he picked up this rug. He has never called me to get this straight. I know the salesperson has attempted to get him to help. I have no other option that to make this review and hope Bassett fixes this problem immediately. I will be reaching out to corporate as well. All I ask is that they refund me the rug and the finance charges.
Let me start off by saying I have never written a review before; however, I am so disappointed in the quality of the sectional we purchased that every night when I sit on my sofa I feel so annoyed and upset that I ever made this purchase. I purchased only a year and a half ago a very expensive sofa (for me at least) and in the short time I have owned the couch the back cushion is separating from the back of the couch, the fabric is pilling all over to the point it is so scratchy I have to put a blanket over the couch in order to sit without it scratching me, the cushions have sagged so much that I have to use multiple throw pillows to support my back and seat and the padding on the armrest has all shifted and is not only uncomfortable but also unsightly. Truthfully, I have a $400 couch from IKEA that I purchased 6 years ago and it has held up better and is more comfortable than this $3500 sofa I purchased. We also bought the extended warranty on the couch, only to realize that ALL of the issues we are having are excluded. This is so disappointing that I thought I was making an investment in a quality piece of furniture only to realize it is no more than an overpriced piece I could have purchased from IKEA or Ashley Furniture for at least $2500 less.
Just bought two recliners from Sue Gibson-Keller at your Short Pump store in Glen Allen.She was excellent. All the people I worked with were very efficient. Delivery people could not have been better. My only complaint (yes I had to have one) was that the arm covers were expensive and skimpy.I will definitely recommend you to friends. We had a great experience at Bassett! The couch is one of the most well made pieces of furniture Ive ever owned. Not to mention the comfort is out of this world. If you are looking for style and comfort in your home then Bassett furniture is the place to go. We also purchased beautiful bedding. The quality is unmatched anywhere else.
My husband and I bought a leather sofa and two chairs from this store that looked amazing in store. Problem is, we have scheduled delivery 3 times and all three times, no one showed. First time, we got a call at 5:00 the light before saying the delivery would be cancelled for the next day and no idea when they could deliver. Fine. They said I could expect a call on Monday the next week to reschedule. No call. I called and had it scheduled for the following Saturday since they said they could not schedule delivery for this week. Still inconvenient but ok. I did not receive a call to confirm delivery that Friday before so I called the store and was rudely told to expect a robo call by 8:00 that night and to call at 10:00 when the store opens on Saturday if not. Well, I did not receive that call. I called at 10 on Saturday and it took three calls on Saturday for them to say oops, we forgot to put you on our manifest for delivery so you slipped through the cracks when we called the customers last night to say delivery would be cancelled for today. Now I’m mad. They said they would deliver with what’s convenient for my schedule so i said Wednesday afternoon and Patrick, the manager, said they would make that work but he’d call me on Monday. No call on Monday. I call and get ahold of Sue. She said Wednesday delivery is not possible but they’d be here Thursday morning (today) instead. I called yesterday to confirm and they said yes, expect them at 8 this morning and I’ll get a robo call that night. I received no robo call to confirm again last night and they never showed this morning. This is not a way to run business. I was even offered a refund for the delivery fee but we never received it. So disappointed. We had a whole house to furnish but they will not be getting our business again until they figure out some standard business practices.
Helpful sales associate (Sue Gibson-Keller). Really quick and efficient home delivery. Two gentlemen came to home even slightly before the appointment delivery window (which was fine, had planned to be home all AM, they called and confirmed as well as my using the online emailed confirmation to track the trucks location that morning). No complaints and really professional delivery guys. Especially for such a HEAVY solid-wood cabinet that came all in one piece. Also appreciated Sue contacting us directly herself to let us know when updates for delivery date would possibly occur after wed placed the furniture order. Cabinet is above average quality. Amazing quality for the price point. Turnaround from store to piece delivered into home was only 5 weeks.

Extremely high-end furniture. Tremendous selection, knowledgeable staff. Furniture is pretty much made to order, so you typically will wait 6-9 weeks for your order to arrive.Hard not to like just about everything in the store. So, if you can afford it and dont mind waiting, then this probably where you should purchase your new furniture.
The bed we purchased was put together for us. We were so pleased with the bed quality that we are re-doing out entire house with nothing but Bassett furniture. We had wonderful service when we visited the store. Our design consultant Susan McGeorge was absolutely wonderful to work with.. She was attentive, but not pushy. She helped us with the type of material we wanted and needed on our furniture based on our lifestyle.
I have had the worst experience of my life with Basset Furniture. My wife and I spent $15,000 with this company only to receive our ordered furniture more than a month later in disrepair. Nearly every piece of furniture that we received has a defect. Sue, the store manager indicated that they could have someone come to our home, take apart the furniture, and repair it.???? I explained that I did not want my new furniture taken apart and repaired. Sue indicated that she could not authorize anything more than this and the regional manager would be notified for a decision. That was 3 days ago and I have not hear from anyone at the store. I guess they think I am going to accept the furniture this way. Please use caution when purchasing from this store or do not purchase at all. Do your homework and check the reviews online....NOT on their website like I did. I intend to post this story everywhere that I possibly can. Customers should not be treated this way.
Great selection of furniture that caters to modern and rustic layouts. You will be followed by sales right when you enter which may be off putting to some. Lots of customizations available for furniture as well.
Nice stuff with a BIG markup. Salespeople tend to be pretentious...ie thats almost going to be southwest steampunk inspired, one told me after asking about a dining table.
I was told go home and find what you want on line, then email him or call him, and then he would see how much it was.Ok if Im doing all this why do I need him?What a waste of my time.
I felt that the sales person was truly interested in helping me even though she mentioned she worked commission, it wasnt a hard sell. I didnt feel pressured but she genuinely wanted to help and wanted my business.
Do not buy anything from this store. We purchased 9k worth of furniture and have had a horrible experience ever since. The delivery guys put 2 leather chairs together on our asphalt driveway. They sent out a repair guy 2 months later to replace the scratched up arm rests from the driveway. We also purchased 2 more chairs that were aproximatly 2-3k one leather and one cloth. The leather chair has strips like a tiger. The store told us it’s from the cows rubbing against a fence. I have never seen such a cheap leather dye job. The leather was supposed to be quality and is showing severe signs of wear after 6 months. Not the normal creasing but the leather is actually starting to look very worn in spots. The other chair has a severe lean with one of the legs sticking out crooked. The repair guy said it’s cause we sit on one side of the chair. Really? After a few months? You can see the whole chair leaning and they say it’s just the cushion. I repeat DO NOT BUY FROM BASSETT. THEIR FURNITURE IS VERY CHEAPLY MADE AND OVER PRICED!!!!!! WE Thought we were buying quality furniture that would last. At this rate we will be replacing it in a couple years.
My salesperson, Mark Simpson, is excellent. He is extremely knowledgable, friendly and has great decorative taste. We plan to buy furniture from him for years to come.
Furniture arrived before estimated time and delivery folks were 1 hour early (arrived at 3:30, but delivery time frame was 4:30 to 7:30). I was not home to receive it. When learning of the situation and how my husband and I had carefully created schedules to be home during the actual delivery time, the store manager (Tom) and warehouse manager (MIke), came out and delivered the furniture, themselves. Thank you!! Jackie, my sales consultant, was also a pleasure.

My wife and I purchased (or at least agreed to purchase) a Versa sectional sofa from Bassett in Short Pump on November 19th. It was the start of the 50% off black Friday sale. Agreed price was $4223.59. They did the paperwork which included everything we wanted which included motors on the reclining ends of the sectional. When we received the bill to our astonishment, the bill was for $5,287.12. Now its January and we still havent received our sofa because they oversold but they were supposed to deliver within 30 days. We called on January 4th to attempt to get the price back to where we agreed. They said they added the motors in to the price. This is complete BS because they were already added in. We cancelled the order and will purchase from Lazy-Boy since this is the company the sales associate was bashing when we were attempting to purchase our sectional. We are very disappointed with our experience.
