I broke my radiator and left the car at Big O Tire for convenience. They told me they could fix it and I didnt doubt it at all. Unfortunately, they couldnt fix it and messed up with the engine. I had to tow my car to the Mazda dealer to unlock it. I wasnt lucky enough to find a decent, honest mechanic at the beginning.After Googling on the internet, I decided to contact A1 radiator. I was impressed by Joe. He gave me solid solutions at a reasonable rate. I am very pleased with the work that was done. Besides that, Joe also gives me a warranty that will last for 12 months. Joe is so professional and honest. Im very lucky to find him fixing my car.

I have been a customer for years, Ive gone to them for various vehicles but always have been taken care of. They were professional enough to tell me when my radiator was too far gone to repair and found me a new replacement and they stand by their work! You get what you pay for and A-1 radiator has provided radiators and radiator repair for years.

My son and I changed the radiator early this morning and took it for a test drive to check for leaks. After coming out of a Home Depot, we noticed antifreeze dribbling out from the bottom. After a few swear words, we decided to drive it over to the professionals and let them take a quick look. They promptly asked us to put the car in the shop, out of the sun. They kinda knew what the issue was when I told them that we tightened the 2 cooler lines nuts on the radiator that werent being used. After 20 minutes they said it was 1 of the 2 smaller house at the top that had a small, pin hole leak. They cut of a small piece of the hose and reattached it. We drove it back to Vegas the next morning with no overheating issues and no leaking! Thanks guys! Greatly appreciated it!!

Had one of the most pleasant experiences at an “auto shop” that I have ever had and that’s rare these days. Joe Hurd went more than above and beyond in getting my radiator flushed, changing my thermostat as well as looking at a couple other problems that I thought I had. Most shops would say I had a problem when come to find out I did not. Price was right on point. Joe was extremely friendly throughout my wait time which was fast as well. I took my 13+ year old vehicle here with a radiator leak on a Monday evening. They had the radiator, hoses, thermostat ordered and delivered by Wednesday. They had my vehicle ready Wednesday at 2PM. When I popped the hood, I had to take a double take at my license plates to make sure I was picking up the right car....the engine compartment was so clean it looked brand new. Customer service (Joe) was professional and courteous. The pricing was fair for the work completed. I would highly recommend A1 Radiator.

Very busy shop, so getting an appointment is preferred. Ive had multiple vehicles in the shop for radiator and a/c repairs. I had an incident where 2 elderly women from out of town blew a radiator hose. The shop they were towed to quoted a repair price over $800. and 4 days to do the repairs. I had them take the car to A-1 where the cost was under $200. and the guaranteed repairs took less than a day.I wont go anywhere else.

I was told by Ken that my radiator core was shot and was quoted a price to fix it. I looked online and was trying to figure out some other options, just to see. I found a refurbished radiator and it was similar price to the quoted price to fix it. He seemed knowledgeable and i wanted to asks his opinion on this. I gave him the information and what one of my friends had said about maybe they are wrong and we should look at it our selves. when i said that, Ken told me that he was done and said if you and your buddy think that Im cheating you then go buy your radiator and pay me. I had been here before and didnt even get the chance to defend myself and say that i was just quoting my friend. I was just trying to get information on what i should do and give the entire story of the radiator and project. this man stormed off at the littlest bit of confrontation and possible criticism. I dont know if they do good work or not because I dint get that far. The car means a lot to me and i just wanted to know what to do. The response was childish and I would sooner send my radiator half way across the country than go back and be treated like I was.

A-1 Radiator has been around in Reno for many years. From taking a gas tank out of a classic car being restored to have A-1 Boil, Inspect & Seal the gas tank, to replacing radiators & any repairs related to the heating/cooling system (& then some additional mechanical work too!) They are honest & get the job done. No monkeying around on your quoted price etc....Joe Hurd was a very big help & saved me a great deal of money!!

Joe was very helpful, asked questions so that it would help the techs diagnose the issue my daughter was having in her jeep. Very open and honest about prices. No hidden fees. Just the facts of what was wrong and what the cost was with each. Thanks Joe.

I brought in a leaky radiator and the employee told me that it wasnt worth repairing and kindly explained why. You dont see that kind of honesty a lot, but it pays dividends. Dont buy cheap radiators on Ebay, but when you do, take it to these guys.

I put in a resume for employment but got no response. Yay or nay it is polite to respond to an important email.

I was quoted a price of $418 TOTAL for a new radiator for my car. When I showed up to get it replaced the RECOMMENDED price was actually $648. When I questioned Charles, in person, he said you didnt ask for all the associated costs just the radiator. Since he knew the car is 13 years old he should have at least told me the TOTAL RECOMMENDED COST will likely be more. Since this is the only radiator shop in northern Nevada Charles can get away with this. I will not bring any of our other cars to A-1 Radiator and suggest you dont either.

Would not recommend A1 Radiator to clean your diesel particulate filter in the exhaust system of all new diesel vehicles. I paid them to do mine and with no success. They gave me a printout with figures on it but Im not sure if theyre accurate or not. After picking it up and installing the cleaned part, my vehicle still was not running correctly. I ended up replacing the DPF with a new one and the vehicle runs just like its supposed to. I called to see if they would do a full or partial refund and was told that there was nothing they could do. If they would have shown any concern or offered a partial refund, I would have been a happy Customer.

Dropped my radiator off for a inspection. I expected it to take few days. They called me about an hour later with the results and then advised me of repairs. I said yes to the repairs, thinking it was going to take a week. They called me the next morning to report everything completed. . This is a 40 year old radiator out of a old ford truck thats been sitting for at least 20 years. And now the radiator looks like new. The cost was very fair.. Hopefully I will never have Radiator problems in the future on any of my vehicles, but if I do. You have my business. Thanks for the great job

Actually dont want to give him one star. My husband went there to see if he had a air pump and if we could bring our tire over to fill. We were stuck with a flat. He was rude threatened to call cops over asking a question. We have never been treated with such disgusting disrespect. My review of this business is 0 stars I will never give him our business. May he go out of business. May karma smack him with what he dishes out. Total garbage this man is

Very fast service and they even put an original drain plug in.Radiator doesnt leak anymore just make sure you get price quote from Money Hungary MIKE. I paid $160.00 to have my radiator boiled and rotted with no leaks. It use to be $85.00 to have this done. And then I noticed leak repair done on my radiator where it didnt leak before.

Rip off shack. Had a leak in my transmission cooler. Removed it and found the hole. Cut away the bad section and prepped for a 5 minute spot weld. Picked up next day and bill was $110. They cleaned it, straightened fins and painted it. I didnt ask for that nor did I want to pay more that $40 for 10 minutes max work. Do not recommend and would never go there again.

They accommodate us good, but sucks on our part because we dont go to work & no income coz we are own operator for trucks. so Xmas to us no money.

I was on a trip and radiator fluid started leaking out of my car. It was the 5th of July right after the fourth of July weekend so I expected to have trouble getting a repair done quickly. A1 was the 8th phone call I made and they looked at my car and diagnosed it. They told me they werent sure they could get it done today but to call them at 2 pm for a progress check. We walked into downtown Reno and killed some time. At 2 pm A1 said yes they will have it done. (it needed a timing belt and water pump which is a 5 hour job). Needless to say I was beyond thrilled that I didnt have to pay for another motel room and their service was top notch. They are professional and they are customer service oriented. The car was done at 5 pm and we were on our way home. Thank you A1 radiator!!!!

Made me waste $1600. They fixed a broken car.

Not happy..called A1 and they said they would fix my radiator for around 47.50. Brought it in. signed their form and left.. they called me back told me the radiator was shot and they could replace it for around 170.00. I told them Id pick up my old one and get a new one.. I checked around prices were 100 to 150.00.Went to get my old one and told them Id decided to not buy a new one.. They were going to charge me 35.50 just for looking at it.. told me they dont work for free..I told them they didnt work on anything. They said look on the invoice.. and sure enough it says minimum charge 32.50.bottom line.. read the invoice.. they charge to you for a quote..Never again will I use this company.
