My wife went in to purchase a simple gold chain as a birthday gift and wished to see one of the pieces. The woman behind the counter was super rude to her and told her that We dont have anything like that even though she merely wished to see a piece that was in the case. After my wife asked again to see a piece she was told to Try a pawn shop, thats probably more your speed. I have never felt so insulted. Make sure to wear your Sunday best if you wish to get any service what so ever or you will be treated like a penniless pauper not worth the time to speak to. Needless to say any jewelry I purchase will not come from Landstroms.

Excellent place to purchase authentic Black Hills gold jewelry. Wife bought a ring here 16 years ago and is still wearing it and it looks new. The sales ladies were extremely friendly and helpful. We had to stop in again and buy several more pieces for the and daughter. Very clean and spacious sales area.

The factory tour was awesome! I love to see how things are made. They didnt push to have people purchase anything, which was also nice. We even stayed after and talked to employees and got more questions answered. Dont miss the repair area. They didnt point it out on the tour, but it is interesting as well. The tours are on the hour during regular business time, with a lunch break at noon.

Tyler our tour guide gave an engaging demonstration of how the jewelry is designed and made step by step. We walked through the different work areas to see each phase. Learning the history of how it started and the way it’s made today deepened my appreciation of the beauty of the Black Hills gold jewelry.The store has an amazing variety of pieces, and the employees have extensive expertise in the design and production of rings, earrings, necklaces, and more. It’s a “must stop” in Rapid City.

I was chosen to get my daughtervin law to be her Something new. She lost her uncle recently, she told me that when she sees a hummingbird, she thinks its him.I knew she had a black hills gold headpiece. I decided I wanted to fet her a bracelet. Landstroms got excellant reviews. I not only found a bracelet with a hummingbird, I also found an anklet. Time wise, it was gong to be tight. They both needed to be made. Josh(I think was his name) assured me that he would do his best. I not only received it on time, it was over a week early.My daughter in law burst into tears when I gave them to her, they were beautiful and meaningful.I would highly recommend this company.

Some of this jewelery is not solid gold as they profess. I bought a broach several years ago, nice looking, however a friend told me parts were gold plated. I had it checked and only the leaves and grapes are gold the base is gold plated. Also have a tie clip I received years ago as a gift. Same result. Landstrom in my opinion is false advertising as the salesperson told me it was solid gold. If you buy ask is this solid goldLandstroms should be ashamed and correct their sales people.

Was very satisfied with our visit to their store. We took the tour and all the sales people were wonderful. No high pressure and they were very helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend to any. Love my new bracelet, necklace and earrings.

SCAM. They will lie to you while smiling and looking you in the eyes.I needed the battery in my watch replaced and I SPECIFICALLY asked them if they would re-water proof it as part of the process. They assured me i would be able to swim with it after they were done. I took a shower an hour later and it nearly killed the watch.Secondly, the new battery ONLY LASTED 5 MONTHS. My first battery lasted 4 years.Lastly, and most importantly, in the process of changing the battery they broke the bracket that held the band in place. I had to take it back to them 4 times before they fixed it with super glue... The day i picked the watch up the band fell off AS I WAS PUTTING IT ON MY WRIST IN THE STORE! How did they believe that was acceptable?I would hesitate to buy their gold even at scrap gold prices.

We ordered another band for my wedding ring and Tammi was able to have it made and shipped to the store on the date of my anniversary! She was great! They always take great care of me with all my jewelry needs. Thanks for making my day Tammi!

I purchased three rings of different sizes, for my wife and they had to be resized. The first ring of the three had to be resized twice because we gave the wrong size the first time.Resizing the first ring twice resulted in the shank being exceedingly thin, because the elegance of the ring originally required a slender shank. Resizing such a shank twice resulted in one too thin.I spoke to Jesse who was very gracious and offered to rebuild the shank at no cost. He did this knowing that we had mistakenly given the wrong size for the ring to be resized to.It is an honor to deal with business people such as Jesse who went above and beyond what would be expected to provide excellent service to his customers.I will certainly be a continuing customer in the future. There were only 2 sales ladies, and it seemed tone their first day. They were quite rude and I was embarrassed as we just moved here and I brought a friend/ tourist along. Some of the prices were manageable for small gifts, but the sales ladies were completely unhelpful. When we inquired about the smell of the place, which smelled like cat urine, they were very defensive while we were just thinking a lot of ammonia was being used in the factory.Will not return. Hope my friends purchase doesnt break. Do not recommend.

Cool factory tour but terrible customer service!! Our tour bus had a pre-planned stop here and we ended up being 40 minutes late for reboarding due to their lack of clerks to assist us and ring up sales. Consequently they missed out on several sales as many of us just chose not to wait.
