Cute place, friendly staff. Breakfast bagel sandwiches were weak, barely any egg, some ingredients were missing from one sandwich, and overall very expensive. $9+ for an egg meat cheese bagel and $2 for a tablespoon of cream cheese is outrageous but maybe that has something to do with the area. If quality matched the price my review would be much higher.

The food was okay and way over priced. We had ordered 2 breakfast bagel sandwiches and had waited over 40minutes. There was people before us already waiting for over an hour. But yet people that had been seated received their bagel in less than 5minutes. How hard can it be to slice a bagel and throw some cream cheese on it? The customer services was horrendous, stating they can’t help trying to find other people’s orders and walking away. I love supporting small businesses but you are better off going across the street to a franchise bagel shop called Einsteins. Better prices and good bagels.

If you enjoy overpaying for a very average bagel sandwich and waiting for 40+ minutes for only two bagel sandwiches then this is the bagel shop for you!!! Black Hills Bagels is a tourist trap. $9+ for a bagel sandwich?! Are you kidding me?After waiting 40-some minutes on a Wednesday morning, my bagel sandwich was cold and greasy. I assume management receives many complainants about their “speedy service”… hence the sign by the counter that states “we don’t serve fast food; we serve made to order food as fast as we can”.I can order food at any sit-down restaurant and my meal will be served faster than Black Hills Bagels!!I would explore your options when searching for breakfast locations in Rapid. Don’t waste your time or money.

I’m gluten free. They offered me a GF bagel (which was good unlike many other baked GF goods). Unfortunately I’m also dairy free. Instead of paying for a pre selected sandwich removing the dairy they suggested I build my own to save a few dollars. Always appreciated when you’re gf and usually pay more for less food. My non-gf companion said her sandwich was delicious. Also at the recommendation of the staff.

Excellent bagels. Decent service. The Westerner is one of my favorite bagel sandwiches ever, its sooooo good. Will always return to this place when Im in the area.

Such great service and great prices! Their bagels are SO YUM! Just make sure you get there before they run out because it is definitely a local favorite. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Really awesome place. However the wait is out of control and not worth it. We came on Sunday and it was a 45 minute wait for a bagel. Line out the door. I would give this 5 stars but they need to get this under control and hire more staff for the summer. Be prepared to wait if you want a simple bagel

If you are in this area of Rapid City, SD, stop in and visit. They make their own bagels and serve the best coffee. We also enjoyed a evening meal of Beef Brisket and a delicious Rhubarb cake.. Everyone was so pleasant and such great service. Truly enjoyed our stop there with Benedicts Bus Tours from Welboro, Pa.

Ordered delivery for Mothers Day today and it was spectacular as always. Of course there was a wait, but given it was a holiday and their busiest day, I have nothing to complain about. The food still came fresh including our coffee which was scalding hot and delicious, and our sandwich which was clearly not sitting around as it was not soggy. They even called to get details on the order and update us on the eta. The staff deserves a kudos! Great way to start my Mothers Day!

I needed something scrumptious for a few of my guests, and Black Hills Bagels hit the spot. It was my first time and the young man behind the counter recommended their roast beef bagel sandwich. Lets just say that all I heard from my guests were mmmmmmm and wow!

I love supporting local businesses when I travel and after reading some reviews, I hesitated to stop here but am glad that I ultimately did. Service was friendly. My bagel sandwich was on the pricier side, but I felt like the serving portion was large and it was delicious. And as for the wait, I could tell that they have read the reviews criticizing the wait time. There are signs saying that they dont serve fast food, they are making your food as fast as they can to order and even the cashier gave me an estimated wait time. I can see that it might take a while to get your order during peak rush times. I waited less than 10 minutes for my order. I would not hesitate to come back here.

Absolutely delicious and fresh bagels with an amazing team behind the shop! The bagels are prepared with love and taste good. They have homemade cream cheese and you can also get sandwiches. We took an everything bagel with onions cream cheese and it was to die for. Would totally go back!

While driving thru Black hills we stopped by to get bagels for breakfast. We love supporting small business but not when they are over charge you. Their breakfast sandwiches are just shy of $10 each but you need a microscope to find the filling. Dont waste your money! Their food is not worth the price.

Wife went into get COFFEE and bagels, got home they were London Fogs. So not only did we get charged for a $4-$6 dollar coffee in return we received a $2 earl grey tea with milk. Im surprised they got the begals right.

I absolutely love this place. I love the bagels, and their bagel sandwiches etc. But every time I go to the one on Haines, they never have bagel chips or sprouts. Whenever I go to the one on Mt Rushmore, the wait is ALWAYS 20-30 minutes. Sometimes more. They need more staffing. They need to be more organized. Other than that, I love the place.

Delicious selection of bagels and bagel sandwiches. The employees were very friendly and service was very quick considering how busy they were each time we went in (while vacationing in the area for a week).

I ordered 2 bagels with Cream cheese. Those two were fine except I asked for toasted and they weren’t toasted. (If there were, they weren’t toasted enough for me to notice *any* crunch to them!) I also ordered a caramel frappe, paid for the extra shot of expresso and whipped cream. I got neither. It was the worst. Tasted like I was drinking an caramel icy 🤢. Then I ordered a bagel sandwich meal. Again the sandwich was fine except the bagel was not toasted and the meal was supposed to come with chips and a pickle. It didn’t. I got two pickles instead. I used to love going to BHB and ordering and sitting in the unique restaurant. But this time I opted for delivery.. if you go, order there apparently, it *might* be better!? 🤷🏻‍♀️ **DON’T get delivery **Side note: This is the second time I got delivery and it was awful. I just thought the first time was a fluke.

Went In to order and the person at the register had no clue they even made salads. Continued to say that the bagels available were in the back and we could look at them. Problem is... from the register we could not see. We left and chose not to eat there. Just wanted a salad. Finally she asked someone after telling me they didn’t exist. Nope.

We waited over an hour for two breakfast sandwiches for them to come out with hard way over cooked eggs on the sandwiches. They make to order which is great but takes way way too long for what it is.

The bagels were served fresh, lightly toasted and packed with flavor! The coffee was rich and dark and hit this spot on this cold SD morning. Very homey feel to the place and a breath of fresh air from the corporate “Starbucks” type of coffee shop.

If you are willing to wait 45 mins for bagels this is the place for you. They will do all online orders in front of the people in the tote. And then not apologize for it taking so long.

This little gem of an eatery is my favorite! As soon as I walk through the door, my stress level just drops! A bunch of us from church meet there every Sunday afternoon. I look forward to it every week! Some of us will come every now and then on Saturday also. Its our favorite place! Its super clean and has such a wonderful laid back relaxing atmosphere. The bagels are wonderful and the sandwiches are to die for! I live for the Hogs & Chicks! But WAIT... It gets better! They serve Dark Canyon Coffee!! : ) There is so much of everything to choose from! They have a punch card program, so after buying a certain amount of sandwiches, you get a free one! (I think they have a special coffee one too. For expressos? Cant remember.) Bathrooms are always clean. Just when you think it cant get better, they have a PHENOMENAL staff!! Staff will make or break a business no matter how good the food is. Every one of them is just the BEST!! 5 stars is simply NOT enough for BHB!!

Maybe one of the best bagels Ive ever had. I had my typical toasted blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese and it was one of the best Ive had anywhere. Plain black coffee was also perfect and the employees were very nice. I also love their neon sign.

The most pathetic experience I have ever had at any sort of eatery. We ordered our food and 40 minutes later they came to our table to tell us they had none of the bagels we ordered and would have to make something else and it would be an even longer wait. Their bagels are absolutely delicious! Guaranteed you have not tasted anything quite like The Westerner on their blueberry bagel. The cafe is roomy enough to social distance while enjoying their cozy coffee shop atmosphere. The dirty chai wasnt quite as flavorful as I expected but they do sell local honey to sweeten it.The location is perfect and there is a decent amount of parking. Absolutely would recommend to anyone visiting Rapid City!

Food was just ok but that wasn’t the problem. that was probably the most disorganized place I have ever been to, if I hadn’t ask for my order twice they would have never gave it to me 50 minutes later for a toasted bagel with cheese.

This place is the go to for fresh bagels. If we are in Rapid City we stop by. Loaded up with some Sourdough bagels and some whole wheat and headed home for some sammiches!!!

Tasty bagels. We got there when they opened and there was a line and a longer wait after ordering than expected. If your goal is to be in and out quickly, Id go elsewhere if you see a line. If youre looking for nice people, and good bagel, and supporting a locally owned business, this is great!

I halfway expected the kind of bagels you buy from the store and pop in a toaster but theirs are way past expectations. Delicious bagels, delicious spreads, and very VERY friendly staff.

AMAZING BAGELS! The perfect blend of toasty, chewy, crunchy! And so many delicious cream cheeses (Olive and PImento is a must try!) Also great service!

Crisp outer, light and fluffy center. VERY satisfying. The garlic bagel was amazing (must love garlic!) with perfect onion shmear (just have all in your party order the same and itll be just fine!).

This place was adorable and the bagels were awesome. Some really unique flavors of bagels and cream cheese. We ended up getting more than we could eat just so we could try the combinations! The breakfast sandwich we had was very good too - The Sassy Cowgirl. Plus the inside has plenty of space for seating for families if you have a few kids in tow. Extra parking in the back! I would definitely recommend over the Einstein and Caribou across the street.

Wonderful bagels with so many choices! Cream cheese flavors were awesome. The coffee assortment was large and the staff were very courteous and friendly. We got our order very fast! The atmosphere was very comfortable and cozy for sitting and enjoying the food. A new favorite for sure!!

Its a little disappointing after waiting 30 minutes for a toasted cinnamon bagel to have it cut with a knife that was used to cut a garlic/onion bagel. The mix of flavors was unpleasant.

They have a sign on their wall about how they value customers and are kind etc... the guys behind the counter were nothing but rude. The coffee was awful!!! The bagels were good but the customer service ruined it!! There was one nice young girl working with long black hair who was actually kind and helpful. But I won’t be going back there

Coming from a city where grabbing a bagel is a way of life. Blackhill bagels by far exceeded my expectations they a literrally the best tasting, from sandwhiches to plain and the service was very organized.. thank you again.
