In October 2021, we made our annual trek up to SD, but this trip was destined to not be quite as joyful as our usual one. The morning after we arrived we discovered our car would not start. We had AAA tow it to the local Toyota dealer, but called them prior to doing so. My first thankyou goes out to the lovely Alicia who was kindness itself and encouragement and reassurance personified. She referred me to Scott in parts who could not have been kinder and also reassured me that they could take care of my car and not to worry. When I arrived at the dealership another very nice gentleman greeted me and said let me get John. He will be able to help you, no problem. And John did! I left my car with hope and confidence that all would be fixed because John said so! They found chewed wires and I picked up my car the next day. Sunday dawned bright and early and sadly, though my car started right up, a battery light was shining brightly on my dashboard. John had advised me that my alternator was running a bit off, so I was pretty sure it was the culprit. Monday bright and early they ordered the new part, Tuesday it was fixed by noon (thankyou to the mechanic who worked on my car both times! You did a great job!) and we were on our way home. We had some nice walks and will be back again next year with more drives in the Hills to look forward to. And will be confident if we are in trouble there are so many kind people at Denny Menholt Toyota to look after us! You dont know what it meant to me to be treated so kindly and looked after so thoroughly. This company is blessed mightily with the people they have working for them. Thank You Thank You! My husband and I had been traveling across country in our 2020 Toyota Prius from Maine. The service indicator light went on from the dash and we knew we could not wait until we got back to Maine to get it serviced. On a whim, and not expecting to get an appointment, my husband pulled into your Toyota dealership. Again, we were not expecting to get in, however, we were pleasantly surprised to have our car serviced right away, no wait time! Right before the Memorial Day Holiday weekend, no less!! Our technician communicated the service details to our Toyota dealership back in Maine, also. We were back enjoying beautiful South Dakota, and our vacation, in no time! Well we just bought a Toyota Highlander from here! I noticed after we bought it the passenger side mirror was broke. We immediately called and then drove back and they made it right! This place sells lemons beware, bought a 14 Silverado from them less than a week later I’m getting an engine misfire. Took it to a local Chevy certified shop since they couldn’t get me in for two weeks, turns out it needs a lifter done about a 2,000 dollar job. The mechanic said there were a few stored misfire codes hinting they had to have cleared them at some point. When bringing it up to my salesman he said they check all used cars with their scanner confirming the shops hints. Worst experience buying a vehicle I’ve ever had I would steer clear from their dishonesty looking at previous reviews this isn’t the only time a vehicle was sold and needed lifters or has had an axle fall out etc
We stressed to the salesman more than once that we would buy the vehicle but needed them to help us with our out of state registration. We said more than once this was a condition of the sale and they agreed to help.After we signed the papers they did not follow through and now we are left with trying to figure it all out.They were all great about getting the deal done but when the time came to help us they pretty much told us we were on our own.We called the salesman and told him what we needed them to do but he never let us know that was not going to happen until we got to the dealership to pick up our paperworkWe are very disappointed with this process and with the salesmen promising us help.We said we were going to give them our future business not not going to happen now.

I have been searching for the perfect car for me at a reasonable price and it was starting to seem impossible after months of searching. I came across a car I liked and planned a week in advance to test drive the car and ended up LOVING it. Nick Jacobs with Denny Menholt Toyota was extremely nice and helpful during this process! Worst service ever first question when making appointment is you want to fix it here. We bought the ram from them 3 Mos after purchase 6000 dollar lifter bill from dodge 30000 miles later manhole told us 5000 to fix lifters also informed us they dont know dodges so heres my suggestion denny dont sell lemons tour idiot mechani s cant fix
Garbage. There is a very rude service employee who had a punch me attitude. I was there to get a spare key made for my Toyota. They had me wait for about an hour until stated they couldn’t pair it due to a error code regarding a communication issue. Of course they could fix for more time and money.So, I went to Harvey’s Lock Shop. They made a key fob and paired it in 15 minutes for about 100$ less.Let’s just say, not impressed. Talked to my father about my experience and he knew exactly who the service employee was I had talked to. What an A Hole.

Colby Anderson is a true professional. He helped me upgrade from my 1996 Toyota Corolla to a 2018 Certified Used Camry. What a pleasure it is to drive! I did have buyers remorse as I had not had a car payment in years. Then it happened. A 2 year old had gotten away from his parent as I began to back up, and the car dash and audio went off all at once alerting! If it had not been for the technology in this car, I may have harmed that baby. Make the upgrade! You may very well save a life!

I hate to give this place such a bad review but after experiencing Preston’s unprofessionalism and terrible customer service, I am truly disgusted. Not only did he make a scene with our sales rep, he sent him home in the middle of working with us. I completely understand things happen, but to create an uncomfortable environment for my husband and I, and not apologize, send our sales rep home in the middle of everything and leave us hanging there without a word is unheard of. My husband had to take the initiative to talk to someone to let them know that we were leaving. Thank you Jerry for being so genuinely apologetic even though none of it was your fault. I have been thinking about getting a new car, and I most definitely will not go back there. Never thought I would experience something so uncomfortable, especially being completely ignored by the sales manager after everything happened.

Went to test drive a 2015 Chevy Impala LTZ that was listed at $19,900. Nice vehicle and mileage was close to 58k, rode nice and only damage I could see was all 4 rims had road rash and small ding on front driver door window seal. Wanted to trade a 2013 Chevy Impala LTZ with 162k, but they only offered $3K, refused to negotiate, wouldnt honor their price from their website for trade, wouldnt honor instant cash price from KBB. Salesman was a Dan Anderson and seemed like he could care less and pretty proud of a Chevy vehicle being sold at a Toyota dealership. Wouldnt buy anything here after experience I had. Better service at Whites Queen City Chevy in Spearfish, See Desmond.If you want to get ripped off on trade so they can jack the price up, definitely read reviews.Also if youd like to debate the review, give me a call Dans got the number. ;-)

The truck I’ve dreamed of for years is in my driveway and waiting for me in the parking lot at work.Well it’s a year later. Three months after I bought my truck I realized I wasn’t getting the interest rate I was promised. I inquired at the lender. They say talk to dealer. I talk to dealer and they don’t know. Months after that I inquire again. Nobody gets back to me.I understand that I should have looked over that paperwork better. It just seems like I was screwed. Oh well I won’t make that mistake twice.

I am so disappointed in this dealership. I went ready to write a check for a new Rav4. The salesman we talked to was a really nice guy but the rest of the crew there were really kinda rude! Turned around and went to Granite that same day and bought myself a brand new Nissan Rogue and they honored my BNSF discount without hesitation. Weve been loyal customers to Granite for years and clearly it will stay that way. Slightly bummed because I really wanted a Rav4 but I am absolutely in love with my new Rogue.

It is crazy how you can walk in with money to spend and the vehicle you want in mind and get talked right out of doing business with this dealership... 2k less offer than any other dealership in town for the trade in. Clearly Kelly blue book of 12k with lowest trade in value of 9k and you offered 7k ... drove across town and got a ten times better deal 👌 and I did love the fact the salesman told me on a dirty truck that if I wanted it clean when I purchased it that it would cost me an extra 250 bucks .. really?! Disgraceful

We were passing through on our way to Yellowstone national Park and we heard a strange noise coming from the left front of our Toyota Sequoia. I checked my phone to see if Rapid City has a Toyota dealership Of course they did. I pulled in and was greeted right away and they immediately diagnosed the problem and had it fixed within 20 minutes. They are amazing!
Nick was excellent to work with. We were in a bit of a bind as our 06 Toyota Sienna died while we were on vacation. On top of this, a recent hail storm limited the number of vehicles we had to choose from. Nick was very patient and after we determined that we could not replace our Sienna with any of the Siennas they had on hand, he took us over to their Honda dealer and helped us find our Pilot. He answered all of our questions even though they were closing up. He then parked the Pilot we were interested in, in their garage as another hail storm was coming in. This allowed us to sleep on the decision and ensured we could complete the sale the next morning and continue our vacation! Despite our somewhat desperate situation, Nick and the rest of the folks there took good care of us and put us in a nice vehicle at a reasonable price.Thanks again!

What a waste of time. I contacted them on the internet, had a date and time to do a test drive, I had a reply from one of the salesmen and I got there and he didnt know anything about it. They finally found the red Corolla I was going to test ride, brought it out - it was totally hail damaged. The salesman asked why I wasnt interested in buying it and I said that I didnt want to pay full price for a damage branded title on a new Toyota. He carefully explained to me that they did not have to declare damage on this vehicle title even though it was over half of the value of the vehicle in damage because they were going to fix the hail dents. Theres no way to fix hail dents in a way that wont cause future problems. And they wont even have to declare there was damage on this vehicle! All of their cars are hail damaged and none of them well have any evidence or disclosure of damage on their titles when they sell them as brand new. So much for Danny Menholt.
The team here are very nice, willing to take the time and go through every car and detail without being pushy. They helped us choose the best car to fit our needs and made the process very easy. Highly recommend them if you are in the market for a car.
Colby Anderson is absolutely phenomenal. I had worked with him prior to our latest encounter so he already knew a little about me but for him to remember as much as he did after 3 months is astounding. I went in to take a look at a vehicle that I believed I could get my own financing on. This car had 227,000 miles on it so obviously I had concerns. Colby was quick to answer any of my questions and was phenomenal in keeping in touch with me through the chaos that my bank put us through. Hands down the best sales person I have ever worked with and as long as Colby is there I will be a lifelong customer.

Dave is a great salesman. Hes very friendly with a great sense of humor and did everything possible to help my daughter purchase her car, He succeeded by the way. She loves her car. To be honest, the two people we actually dealt with were both great. Just wish either my daughter and I or the staff would have thought about having her sales tax paid for by the company instead of having my daughter having her 1st payment, insurance and sales tax all coming due at the same time. Needed to have an Alternator changed and they quoted me WAY too much. Had the car towed back to where I live where two buddies and I changed it in 2 hours (they quoted me 5 hours).But alas, the dealership is very nice inside and the people who work there are very nice and understanding / willing to work with you. For other service items it may not be as bad, but I probably wont take my car back there unless I have to.

I came in on a Monday afternoon and worked with Colby Anderson in Sales and Jerry in Finance to buy the car that Id test driven the Saturday before. Colby had helped me on purchasing a different car three years prior and I was ready for an upgrade. It was a super smooth process despite the dealership being busy.

Passing through town on a coast to coast road trip, I needed an oil change and tire rotation on my newer Tacoma. They took me in on a moments notice and had us in and out in about an hour. Even let our puppy hang out in the waiting area. I imagine local customers should be happy with the service department here.
Had a scheduled oil change at 4:30pm, arrived at 3:45pm. I didnt expect them to get my car in at that time, I like to be early to my appointments. The service person told me that they would try and get it in early if they could. It was 5:00pm and they still hadnt got my car in. It would had been nice if the service person informed me that they were running an hour behind schedule, but that didnt happen. I then asked if they could pull my vehicle out, I had to be somewhere at 5:30pm. Its just like a doctors appointment, they schedule you for a time, but we all know you will be waiting awhile before you are seen.
It was really easy getting everything taken care of and the service was mind blowing fast in and out with plenty of day left

Best car buying experience ever
I have to be honest the last place I thought I would purchase a vehicle was from an actual dealership so here we go. Wife and I drove to Rapid just to take a peek at some vehicles and generally walk around, after parking my wife and I were greeted by one of the salesmen (Colby Anderson) whom asked some general questions as to what we were interested in. My wife asked for a specific kind of vehicle thinking they did not have it on the lot BUT Colby using modern technology found a match in the used vehicle section. We took the vehicle for a test drive and Colby thoughtfully answered all of our questions (Wife had a ton of them). After returning Colby gave us his card and we left. Well, the funny thing is our experience was extremely pleasant and dare I say Kinda Cool so we ended up returning a couple of days later and purchased the vehicle. The entire experience was comfortable as Colby ensured everything was good to go from the start, I do have to mention that Tim Lee from the finance side of the house made all the paperwork seamless and very organized right down to the color coordinated pens. Overall from the staff to the facility it was a surprisingly good experience from the beginning to the end........strange for me to talk highly of a dealership but I guess there is always a first.
Had another great experience at Denny Menholt Toyota with my sales rep, Joel Weaver. Buying was easy. Price was right. And now driving a 2018 Toyota Camry! Lots of bells and whistles to keep us safe compared to my 2015 Camry. The engineering advances are unbelievable. Love the added horsepower and 8-speed transmission! Looking forward to our first road trip to compare our new ride to our not so old, previous Camry!
Bought a new 2016 4Runner this month. What I liked was the efficiency. They were really busy but I was able to get the vehicle bought without a very long wait. The kids liked the play area and being able to watch cartoons. Very painless. Nice people.

Then was rude and smug saying the cost was a good deal for the truck and if we wanted it we’d make it work. The salesman was awesome the manager was not. Classic bait and switch.
