Apline Ski Center is great. You have the choice to either purchase snowboarding gear or skiing gear. If you can’t decide then rent from Apline. Just make sure you rent in advance because bookings fill up.The staff was very friendly and helpful. They actually make you feel happy about spending your money with them.I would recommend coming here to either rent or buy your gear for the slopes.
After purchasing some secondhand skis online, I brought them into Alpine Ski Center in hopes that their repairs personnel would give them a once-over to see if I wasted my money. Not only did John and Brad come across like they wanted nothing more than to help me, but they had years of experience to back up their guidance. Even though they knew I wasn’t going to be spending any money during my visit, they didn’t think twice about sizing my significant other and I for ski boots and poles. Their knowledgeability and genuinely kind personalities created the zero-pressure environment you would want when shopping for expensive gear. I would 100% recommend this business to anyone and everyone. I’ll definitely be back!
The only snowboard/ski store we ever go to in the area. Very good service. Weve had our snowboards serviced here before. Satisfied. Competitive prices on gear, clothing and accessories as well.
We recently went to Snowshoe for a long weekend of skiing. When I got my personal skis out, I discovered the binding was broken. So, last minute, went to Alpine to rent. They were extremely busy, but did a good job and got to me as quickly as possible. To my experience, they were friendly and competent. I was pleased that they rented for the time I was skiing, not the days we travelled. So, I picked up the skis on Wed and returned Sun afternoon, but payed for 3 days rental. Nice!
We have rented from this place for years and theyre great. Affordable prices and friendly staff. Unfortunately this year, they were totally sold out of both skis and snowboards this weekend, but we still love them! They have great selection of equipment in store as well. Will be back
Small inventory. Mostly geared toward rentals. Less than helpful in trying to purchase a board (they had three in stock and no bindings to match), and really didnt offer any resources for where else to turn.I can hardly believe this is the only ski shop in Raleigh. I wouldnt go back unless I had to. Would not recommend.
Very helpful team of experts here! From anything Skiing to Snowboarding buying or renting these guys got you. Definitely check them out before making a trip as they will make sure you have all your T’s crossed and I’d dotted!
Called to ask questions and staff, Brad, immediately said they did not have any mens snowboarding boot. To be a ski store you would think they would carry this product, or at least take the time to look. Also asked hours for the day and he sent me to a recording. I am very glad that I didnt make the drive there to deal with horrible customer service in person.
Amazingly clean nice place
Great variety and service.
Rented a snowboard and boots for my daughter. They we very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend
Worst customer service.Tried to purchase boots and called about for info about stock and Brad seemed as though did not want my buisness or wants to ruin ths company. Incredibly rude.. What a doosh! As I see it Brad for over 2 decades needs to be fired. Obivously purchased somewhere else.
Super friendly and super efficient. We rented equipment in no time even though they were really busy with other customers returning equipment.
Worked with an awesome kid named weston! super helpful and very handsome young man!
Great, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Run like a family operation, people who care about their clients and their safety. 3rd set of bindings installed. Have never been disappointed with their service.
Hostile!! Beyond rude. I recommend C&R, REI, Ski Barn or anywhere else instead. I have never been treated so poorly in a retail store in my life. Worse than going to Court or the DMV!!
We came in looking for boards to rent for a fun weekend and Troy was amazing super sweet! He was helpful and made things easier to understand. I highly recommend coming to see him if you’d like an easy renting process!!
Great experience renting a snowboard for a weekend trip! The staff were very helpful and supportive with fitting me and answering my questions. Im recovering from an ACL injury and they let me test out walking around with the board in the store. Prices are fair and the process is easy. I highly recommend going to Alpine!
Consistently excellent experiences at Alpine. Engaging and friendly staff that really helped me out when fitting and discussing all the options for new ski boots. Fantastic/ fair prices that beat pretty much anything I found online, with great service as the cherry on top. Ive also had my skis worked on here with excellent quality and a quick turnaround time. Were lucky to have Alpine in the Raleigh area for such breadth and depth of product selection and knowledge.
Great store for winter gear, ski equipment, and tune-ups. Their prices are inline with what youd see anywhere else, and the service is top-notch!I stopped in last week to get new ski pants, gloves, and snow boots, and Lisa was tremendously helpful. She explained the pros and cons of different brands and helped me pick out gear in line with what I need. Very, very happy with how it all performed and Im sure itll last a long time.Ive also visited in the past for ski tune-ups and some other accessories, and can say they stand 100% behind their work and their products. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone in the area!
Ive been skiing for over 40 years and just bought the most comfortable boots I have ever skied in from Alpine. I have awful feet, bunions on both sides of each foot. Brad measured my feet several different ways and selected a boot that fit better than any I ever had used.To make things even better, he determined where the problem spots were and stretched the boots out at those spots. I had no idea that ski boots could be stretched! Just got back from my trip and my feet felt great the whole time!
Great place to visit to save time at the rental counter in the mountains. I’ve bought a pair of boots and poles that I’ve been really happy with. Everyone working there that helped me was super helpful and thorough.
Full service ski shop. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. All the brands you loveSki tuning and repair.Ski rentals.A ski bus that goes to the Wintergreen Ski Resort during the week. Hop on the bus, arrive at Wintergreen, they hand you a lift ticket, ski all day and let the bus drive you back to Raleigh.
An older man Brad helped me and my friend on separate occasions and we both gad an awful experience. Very condescending, rude & not helpful. Still angry thinking about it
Brad was very helpful equipping our family with ski gear. He has extensive knowledge about ski boots and skis. He made sure we got the right fit, the right level and the right price. You can tell he puts customer satisfaction first. I wish all retail stores were as trustworthy. We will be return customers. They also have a nice buy back program for kids skis and boots that we will use next year.
They carry great brand skis and snowboards and sell both high performance and efficiency brand soft goods giving you a nice range of options. The staff is always friendly. The tune shop does great work but requires about 1-week for service. They rent gear and have slope and sail (charter bus trips to local mountains) in shop too.
The lady who helped me and my grandson was awesome!!!!
They are extremely honest and their expertise is five star. My 15 year old boots were killing me. I had the inner linings replaced at Alta two years ago (when your old linings finally go, you will know, your shins will take a beating). Ever since then, my boots hurt just about everywhere else-ankles, toes... I couldnt ski very far because it hurt so bad I would constantly have to stop and let the pain subside. So I thought it was time to get new boots. I went to Alpine Ski Center and talked to Rob. I told him I need new boots and showed him my old boots. He looked them over carefully and said well the shell is in good shape, the buckles all work, the new linings are quality and the right size. But you dont have a sole insert anymore. Did you remove it or did the last place forget to reinstall them? I am sure it was the latter. So Rob suggested new sole inserts for $38 and while he was at it, did a full heat treatment and fitting. For free.Ive been skiing in these old revived boots for 2 days now and they are perfect. I dont even loosen them at lunch. I dont have to stop. My skiing is back to where it was. All for about 1/3 the cost of a lift ticket. Rob knew I was resigned to plopping down $400-600 on brand new boots but instead of just taking my money, he invested an hour in me and solved my problem for next to nothing. That is what I call top notch service.
Pretty sad when a business demands masked customers instead of all customers, and still acts condescending when theyre out of stock
These people know what they are doing and care about you and your gear, were lucky to have such a great resource in the triangle for as little snow as we get.
Support your local business....their service is excellent! Brad was very helpful and knowledgeable with a challenging ski boot fit. They truly stand by their guarantee to fit you right and take care of their customers.
Awesome selection for the triangle area. Prices are slightly higher... But hard to beat trying on clothes in person.Always take my gear here for tune ups and they always do a great job.
These guys take the time with you. They aren’t trying to rush you out the door. Brad really worked with me to try and get me In the right boot. I asked lots of ?s and he answered everything I threw his way. I would definitely recommend this place versus trying to get your stuff up the mountain.
Some people might think that this is an expensive store since it’s the only game in town for all things ski and snowboard; it’s not. I compared their prices to online competitors and Alpine Ski was very competitive if not lower than the rest. Their customer service is great and the staff is knowledge and helpful. Ski rentals for a trip are ~$25 per day and that includes boots, skis, and poles. Skip REI and come here. Well stocked with plenty of parking.
Always knowledgeable staff and a great selection! Check out their pre season sales for good deals.
Friendly service, fair prices, & the closest ski shop in the area. Brad always provides helpful and knowledgeable advice with my boot and ski purchases.
The staff is great. They have new, old and used to choose from. I purchased a prior year model at a great price and cant wait for the upcoming ski season to use them again. Better to buy here than at the slopes!
I was kind of skeptical of a ski shop in raleigh but, after visiting I realize how good it is. If you have questions the staff are knowledgeable and welcoming. Planning a cold weather trip, they know just what you need. Great place!
Great little shop. The people are very informative and helpful. Their rental prices are great, and the equipment is in good condition. I rent skis from here every year.
Staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and honest. Would recommend this store to anyone looking for ski/snowboard gear.Edit - repair staff is top-notch in my experience. Brought some used skis in here that needed a lot of work and theyve been doing great for a couple of seasons now.
Excellent customer service.
Greeted when I walked in, and the guys in repair/rental were great. When he heard that I was a first timer, Mike especially went above and beyond, making sure my boots fit properly and giving lots of tips and pointers. Thank you, Mike! However, as wingmen, they could use a little work in subtlety. Otherwise, A+. With a smiley face.
Todd and the group do a great job. Theyve been helping me with my gear for all my ski trips out west for many years. They have the experience on a lot of different equipment and can help with most anything.
Great place! Everything you need to do your vacation better!
Great service every time weve been to Alpine. We damaged a set of Jr. Skis but management was very fair with the charges to replace them. Highly recommend Alpine for purchases and rentals.
This place is amazing.
Great service! Had a binding come loose after 3 days and they went beyond expectations to make it right. Fantastic service!
Great service and great selection of ski and snowboard gear.
A very good choice to rent your gears. Employees are friendly. Keep your receipt (shoe size) and show it next time to checkout faster. It helps when you rent for 2 toddlers
Brandon was super helpful and knowledgable and the guys in the repair shop really helped me out! Great store and great people :)
Very knowledgeable staff, and very personable. I would definitely recommend this ski shop.
Helpful staff with good recommendations for a novice skier.
Your basic skills shop. Could have a better selection.
Ive bought 2 pairs of skis here, one beginner, and one more advanced when I got better a couple of years later. The staff is very helpful and the prices are reasonable, especially during their big sales a couple times per year.
This place is extremely welcoming and user friendly. Beginners to advanced!
They take great care of our boards and have an extensive selection of gear.
Best winter sports shop in the triangle. Staff are very friendly, large selection of equipment, and good prices!
This store monopolizes the snowboarding market in the triangle. Even the REI here doesn’t sell snowboards or equipment due to the closest slopes being over 2 hours away. While I appreciate having a snow shop here, I was not blown away by Alpine. They did have some good sales on 18/19 season boards. $40 lower price than I found anhwhere online for a Burton Yeasayer. This earned them a star.I did not feel like I was taken seriously as a potential customer. It’s just a vibe I got.No one really tried to strike up a conversation, which is fine I guess, but I’m not going to drop $300 on equipment with someone who won’t even discuss snowboarding with me.I ended up leaving with just some vinyl stickers which seemed to be made from a Cricut.I’ll give this store another shot but I’d rather make the trek to Maggie Valley and visit my favorite ski shop if I need anything for the slopes.
Awesome staff! Super knowledgeable and friendly, I try out skis from them every season
Nice pleasant staff. really quick for hose last minute items or for some really cheap ski rentals.
Very helpful crew. The rental gear a little beat up, but the prices are great compared to the mountain rentals so you can step up to a higher quality for less.
Great place to rent skis for your weekend adventures
Good selection but very overpriced. Better off going online for new good or to play it again sports if you want something used.
Good ski shop, good selection of gear, sometimes can find good deals
Nice people here who are more than happy to help. Sadly limited selection since we are not super close to ski resorts, but a nice selection.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff and a great selection of clothing and equipment.
Expensive but nice
Friendly service. Way cheaper for a week ski rental than renting in the destination (like MA for me)
Good people. Normal snowsports attitude.
Great staff, super helpful customer service.
Knowledgeable staff. Lots of products.
Amazing..but pricey selection
Good selection of boards and skis to rent
Employees were super helpful!
Great selection & service!
Always helpful
Very knowledgeable and helpful!
I went in, waited for 30 minutes and wasnt addressed not once. Went to another rental shop.
Everything you need to ski
Never was there
Friendly staff
