We just had an amazing experience for my daughter’s first birthday with Lyla Jones. They have great customer service, they go over everything with you and they really work hard to ensure you’re happy with the designs you pick, they work as closely as they can to make it come true. I personally prefer cold cakes, and fruity, so I wasn’t really sure about it, I was honestly more interested in the look of the cake, but it really surprised me and my family because the cake was actually really delicious and it wasn’t extremely sweet.I definitely recommend them, and just be aware that it is a bit pricey, but it makes sense because they put a lot of effort and are very detailed in their work. I had a cake in mind but was way too big, and they gave me other ideas and sent pictures, and once I picked one, the cake came out looking just like the picture.

I had a cake made for my birthday and Lyla Jones Bake Shop did an excellent job! Not only did the cake look exactly like the inspo image I discussed (such a beautiful handpainted cake and crafted flower) but the cake was moist and delicious and we all enjoyed. They are highly professional and skilled and also have great customer service. I appreciated the contact and clear instructions for pick up. I would definitely use them again for my cake needs in the future.

This bakery is so professional with the best customer service! I reached out to them via Facebook and within minutes I had a quick response. I told them what I was looking for. A Minecraft cake for my 9yo. They sent a picture and I fell in love. When it was time to pic up, the cake was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Beyond my expectations!! One thing that I find with most bakeries is the cake is beautiful and nice to look at, but it’s usually not very tasty and extremely dry! Now this cake was moist, the frosting was delicious, fondant to die for! Will definitely order again.

I chose them to do my cakes because I had stopped by their location in Crabtree several times and tired their cupcakes and they were delicious. I was impressed with how they were closed to the public due to covid but still managed to take orders, and proceed with business as if nothing was going on. I emailed a picture to the email address given. They responded QUICKLY! They got other details from me such as flavors, size etc and my cakes were ready and on time BOTH times. I had Lyla Jones bake shop create a golf cake (including a mini Tiger Woods) for my dad’s birthday. They were very professional from beginning to end of the process. Lyla Jones has excellent baked goods!!! The cupcakes & cakes are delicious...I mean realllllly good cake (fluffy, moist, & flavorful) & excellent buttercream. I have used them for the past 3 years since moving to this area (for everything..graduation, birthdays...hell I make up reasons just to go!) Look at this cake! No really, Look. At.This. Cake. When I asked the Lila Jones Bakery to construct a Die Hard-themed cake for my husbands 40th birthday, I was expecting something mildly impressive. Instead, LJB constructed a multi-tiered work of edible art that references every well-known detail in the movie. Catch-phrase? Check? Zippo lighter? Check. Broken sugar glass with bloody footprints? Also check. I wish I could say that I came up with these ideas, but I didnt; LJB came up with every idea and I merely yayed and nayed. Needless to say, my husband was impressed. My friends were impressed. My random high school Facebook friends were impressed. I will definitely be using LJB for all future cakes!

Lylas Bake Shop is a must when it comes to cakes. I had ordered a baby shark cake for my three year old daughter and they made it just like the picture I sent them. Everything was perfect and delicious. They provided options to the flavors, designs, and layers. Also, they were very nice, responded on time, and were very creative. My sister and I ordered this Deathly Hallows cake for our Harry Potter themed birthday and everyone was blown away! The cake itself was absolutely delicious. I would also like to give a special shout out to Sean. Hopefully he doesnt mind me using his name. Sean was the epitome of great customer service. Things were stressful because of COVID but he remained calm at all times and made the entire experience so much better because of how friendly and caring he was. He took the time to make sure I understood certain changes to the operation and why it was happening and checked in to make sure we were ok. He was just really amazing.

I have attempted to order a cake twice. I came here and read some of the low star reviews and can relate 100%. I also visited the store once and was not acknowledged. I hope its not a trend with them especially with people of different ethnicities. The part owner also gets very defensive and can do no wrong. The 5 paragraph response to a complaint really tells alot about a company and its morals and values. This shop has the potential to be one of the best in Raleigh. They have the perfect location to attract customers and stay busy. I hope things change

I hardly do reviews, which I say that I will start and never do…lol, but I do want to thank Lyla Jones bake shop located in Crabtree valley, Raleigh NC mall for an amazing birthday cake. I searched all over Raleigh for bakers to recreate this beautiful detailed Moana inspired cake. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better they gave me exactly what was in the picture. I was expecting a little freestyle due to everyone not being able to recreate certain looks but I was so happy when I seen the cake it was better than I imagined. The price point could have been better because for close to 500 it could have been much bigger but I also understand the bake shop is located in the mall so that I do understand, be ready to pay a little bit more than your neighborhood cake lady. My son had a 7 tier cake that was 200 more and this cake was only 3. I had 3 different flavors chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. The cake was moist and the butter cream was great!! I don’t personally like buttercream I prefer whipped but for the cake to stand it needs sturdy icing… the guest and of course the kids enjoyed the cake very much. I did appreciate how the cake was wrapped for transport because I did not need a mishap on such a wonderful day!! Thank you again Lyla Jones bake shop for a beautiful cake and I will definitely be a repeat customer!!

We chose Lyla Jones Bake Shop to create our wedding cake after admiring their work on social media platforms. For us, taste mattered just as much as the look of the cake and fondant can sometimes get a bad rap - so I went in for a quick consultation, enjoyed watching their cake artists design other works of art right there in front of me, tasted their marshmallow fondant and took home a few cupcakes for the family to taste back at home. Everything was delicious!! The design process was a piece of cake (pun intended) and communication mostly took place via email which is my preferred method of communication. They were responsive and informative and reasonable in cost. I sent an inspiration pic and they designed and delivered a cake we were 100% pleased with. Could not be happier! The edible gold was so pretty! My only suggestion for the bake shop would be to sign email communications so customers know to whom they are communicating with. I would love to give a personal shout out but I have no idea who answered my many questions and helped with the process because none of the emails have a name attached. Other than that - we will definitely return to purchase our first anniversary cake and for any special occasion in between!

Love, love, love Lyla Jones Bakery! We first came across them when we tried their amazing cupcake in the mall. The cake is super moist and the frosting is delicious! We used them for our gender reveal cake (which was done up beautifully) and my daughter’s 1st birthday cake. The owners are super nice, very responsive, and easy to work with. Wouldn’t think of going anywhere else for all future cake needs!

Great place. Located rite in front of the apple store on the 2nd floor. Grab something from here befre the long line @ apple store. The cupcakes are great and some thing new. With the radically changing mall of becoming more of a large food court than stores but thats another story. Plenty of choices to choose from and they have a schedule of ther daily cupcakes that u can look choose from for next time.. or better thing is u can order them from grubhub and just avoid the dying mall. This is a great place and worth a a look at next time when ever u are at crabtree..

I ordered a cake from here for my birthday and was very disappointed. The cake presentation was decent, but the entire cake was hard with crust like it had been sitting out. The cake wasn’t good at all. I will never order another cake from them. IfYou truly want a good cake that is moist they are not the place for you. I don’t mind spendinggood money for something that is good and truly worth it but is just wasn’t worth it honestly. Disappointed is not the word, if your look for a good moist,soft cake made from scratch do not purchase from them. Everyone at my party complained about how hard my cake was!!!!!

I wanted to share my experience with Lylas Jones bake shop at Crabtree Valley Mall. The cake in the picture above with two tiers is what Chloe’s bday cake was to look like, but the bottom is what I was given. I actually added the Happy Birthday myself because it was so plain. I asked for one tier but to change the photo and band logo. As you can see they look nothing alike. I tried to talk with the staff and the gentleman argued with me that this is what I had ordered and we continued to argue until I said well I can just give my review on Facebook... and he then replied go to town because I have 5000 other likes! I at this point asked him to box the cake and I left. Please think twice before ordering from this bakery because not only was the order wrong, but the customer service I was given was disappointing to say the least.

All the cupcake flavors can be used as a base in a custom cake, that can look like anything from a noodle bowl with shrimp, handbag, or a beautiful sweet 16 cake. The owners work in the shop every day and have artists that can help you make any occasion special with one of Lyla Jones cake creations. Lyla Jones is the owners daughter name, and this is a true mom and pop success story. They operated in Clayton and moved to Crabtree Valley Mall in 2017. Crisp and clean environment with a friendly staff. Some flavors rotate during the week and they have seasonal flavors.

My baby turned one and requested a boss baby birthday cake and they made it exactly as I requested. The look was perfect and the taste was even better. Thank you so much all for your amazing work. I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know. I referred my friend to you all and she got her daughters quinceañera cake done there and that was also amazing. It hard to find a fresh moist melt in your mouth Red Velvet. I have eaten at most cake eateries in the Triangle. Most places are a hit and miss.

I was always a fan of Gigi’s cupcakes but now that I found this place I can’t go anywhere else! Literally the best cupcakes I’ve ever had in my life! I will forever love the birthday cake cupcake! Great cupcakes. Went in later in the day (closer to closing) just to look and they had a small selection left so we picked up 4 cupcakes. A set amount of cupcakes are made for the display, and are sold on a first come first serve basis. Once the flavor is out, thats it. So I suggest to get to the shop early enough, to pick from a larger variety. We were very satisfied with the 4 we tried. Raspberry vanilla was my favorite. The cake part was very moist and the frosting was a great consistency, it was a little sweet. The cupcake itself was a good size, great for sharing. We will definitely be trying this place again.

I just wanted to try the cupcakes out, you know, just for future reference! I tried the vanilla lemon and the vanilla birthday, and OMG! The thing was amazing! I devoured it, and wanted another. I cannot keep myself from buying a cupcake any time I visit crabtree now. Most of the time it gets eaten in my car on the way home. BEST vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting ever. I am a pastry chef and Im gonna be honest, these cakes are legit. The owners took the time to practice recipes before opening to ensure everything was perfect which is something a lot of food places do not do. All of the custom cakes are stunning as well. My mom got me one from this location for my birthday last year and it was stunning. Overall, this is the best cakery in the area in my most humble of opinions. Icing and cake are not too sweet and they dont pile on the icing too high like other places do. The employees are always very nice/welcoming and ready to answer any and all questions. Worth every penny.

I normally dont branch out from Vanilla or Strawberry. THIS CUPCAKE WAS EVERYTHING AND MORE! I went back this week and got 2 more. PRobably will go back next week and get 3 lolol.

We have admired the online photo gallery for quite a while, so when we wanted a very special cake, we knew this was the place to go! Thank you, Lyla Jones Bake Shop for the AMAZING cake, and the great customer service!

Went in to get cupcakes for wedding cake tasting. They didnt know this was why I was purchasing, however I was very underwhelmed. The cake was meh. Buttercream was ok, had a crust on it from setting out. Workers were nice enough, bare minimum. Pricing was on the high end. Expected a little more from this bakery but really was just disappointed when I left.

Took my son here to get a cupcake...I left with 3 :) These were by far the BEST cupcakes I have ever had. I despise buttercream icing because it taste like sugary lard BUT the buttercream here is AMAZING. My new favorite cupcake place.

Can very easily tell this is box mix cake, yet they’re charging premium prices. Your “from scratch” buttercream doesn’t compensate. A child could make buttercream, it’s simply 4 ingredients. A couple employees looked disheveled, hair sloppily in a clip, etc. Cupcake was ok, could have made 24 at home for the price of 1 had I known they used a mix.

They are delicious very soft taste good. I was very pleased
