We really enjoyed working with Paul at Cardinal. This was our first experience with custom cabinets and it was quite intimidating until we had our first meeting with Paul. We left that meeting feeling well informed and empowered. Cardinal took all of our feedback and designed the perfect vanity for us. They were very patient as we went through several iterations of the design. Paul even added our exact mirrors to the design drawing so that we could better visualize the final product. The install was seamless and without surprise. Paul personally came and did the final walk-through to ensure we were completely satisfied. We will certainly return to Cardinal in the future for our cabinet needs. Thank you for a wonderful experience and beautiful product!

Cardinal Cabinetworks help me design a beautiful entertainment center. They were able to take several pictures of cabinets that I liked and come up with the best features of the cabinets in a design for me. Easy and fun to work with. Their installation was easy to accommodate and they left their work area clean. I highly recommend them.

Unfortunately my experience with the company is rather poor. Some of the cabinets and drawers were defective and installed anyway. When I requested replacement Cardinal Cabinetworks was not very enthusiastic about doing so. However after my persistence they replaced some defective parts, for the rest I got a special marker and a crayon to paint over the defects. Full professionalism. The inside shelves where all defective and I was told this is how these pieces are manufactured and they can order hundreds of them and they will all look like that. A sobering statement about the quality this company represents. The panel that goes next to the fridge was ordered three times, each time it was missing a paint on the majority of the surface and each time we had to wait a couple of weeks for its delivery. On the top of that there was not enough room for the fridge in the designated space even though the cabinets were designed by Cardinal Cabinetworks. Cardinal cabinetworks hires contractors to do the installation and in a result the installation party refused to place the fridge it in the designated space because they didnt want to take responsibility for the potential damage. A that point my husband and I were so frustrated we pushed the fridge ourselves and I dont think it will ever come out...I am writing this review over a year since the cabinet installation, motivated yet by an another failure. While designing cabinets I asked about the need to fortify the surface on the cabinets underneath the sink as they are going to have contact with water. There is always a chance of water splash. Even if you wipe it right away, which I always do. I was told I shouldnt worry about that because the cabinets are well made. And I can tell you there are not. The paint chipped and now I have to deal with a bare wood, picture attached, in a pretty new kitchen. To sum up, Cardinal Cabinetworks are, unprofessional, poor quality and not trustworthy. I think I would have been happier with the IKEA and saved lots of money.

It was a blessing to find Cardinal Cabinets to have our kitchen remodeled. We recently moved to N.C. and a relative of a neighbor highly recommended this company to do the job. Since the first time Paul came to meet us in our home we knew by his experience and professionalism that this was the best people to hire and we were right. After several quotes and meetings with others Cardinal Cabinets made a difference since day one. Paul and Ethan were very helpful giving me ideas and getting exactly what I had in mind for my kitchen. They agreed to come once again to my house to measure the area where I wanted a center peninsula island and then again to meet with the contractor. Ethan was always eager to help me with questions and answering my messages immediately. Their crew of workers and installers are all awesome, very pleasant and great in what they do. These guys are great! We highly recommend Cardinal Cabinets for kitchen cabinets and for anything related to wood work in your house or business for that matter. My husband and I are already thinking in remodeling our master bathroom and we will requesting their services without a doubt.Cardinal Cabinets thank you for a fine job and professionalism with the making of our kitchen cabinets. Would definitely recommend.I had family coming in for the holidays and needed the kitchen cabinets I had ordered online installed as soon as possible. With a fairly tight deadline, and the added complication of having to wait for replacement pieces to come in, Cardinal Cabinetworks was flexible and worked with me to get what I needed done, when I needed it done. Paul, in particular, was awesome and oversaw the whole process. I could tell he tried to make sure everything went smoothly and that he cared whether I was happy with the end result. I am.I have a real eye for detail and was afraid I was going to find little issues here and there, or things that could have been done better. I didnt. Im very pleased with the installation.

My wife and I built a architect designed custom home in North Carolina. John Carey and the team at Cardinal Cabinetry were great partners on the project. We had a lot of custom work that needed to be done along with ordering standard cabinetry. The fact that Cardinal is a real cabinet shop and builds custom pieces on site was a great advantage versus working with a big box showroom cabinetry outfit. Sure, the box store will have a lot on display and it is useful to look there, but the places we visited just didnt have the expertise to help with the more complex and custom work we also wanted done. Sitting in the informal less setting at Cardinal with the full attention of the staff while we worked out a plan was essential to the project.When you work with Cardinal, you are not just working with sales people, you are working with experienced craftsmen who build pieces on site. For example, we had a complicated wall (17 ft long and 6 ft high) designed with tile and wood that included space for a fireplace and television along with a bookshelf - it is the centerpiece to the living area and had to be just right. We also built a large custom french country center island in the kitchen. Working with Cardinal, we got exactly what we wanted in our home.We very happy with our experience and recommend Cardinal Cabinetry to anyone building a home!

We had the pleasure of working with Cardinal on a complete renovation of two bathrooms and a kitchen. All went without problems, and we got just what we had planned. Saved us! Cardinal was exactly the remedy we needed to fix an aborted kitchen remodel. The initial contractor turned out to be far over his head in his ability to deliver the product we were expecting and we needed an expert to get it done and recover our sanity. In walked John Carey, to look at the scope of the project and then authorize his teams to squeeze us into their hectic schedule. Scott Hole came to do the detailed review of the work and repairs and helped us design our way to the finish line. Scott and Dave were the team on the ground and they made the dream come alive. It was stunning - the competence and the result. Great guys, great work ethic and I cannot recommend a better contractor. The kitchen is stunning and they set and then exceeded our expectations with true professionalism. AWESOME.

In Planning a kitchen remodel we explored all options from refacing, pre- made cabinets, to custom cabinets. We received multiple quotes for all of the above. We made a final visit to Cardinal Cabinetworks in Raleigh and met Ethan, got a tour of his shop and never looked back. The quality of cabinets for the price point was incredible. The solid cherry cabinets are beautiful and included some the the best hardware in the industry. The installation (done by Dave) was as well one of the best installs I have seen. Walls are not always exactly vertical, but our new cabinets are perfectly plumb and level. Its also important to note in going with someone local that troubleshooting can be done on the spot and corrections made. If you are doing a remodel visit Ethan at Cardinal Cabinetworks for a consultation and quote, you wont regret it. Ethan and the Cardinal Cabinetworks team can not be beat for quality and price.

Cardinal Cabinets custom built our kitchen, bathroom and office cabinets. Their workmanship was excellent, and John and his team are courteous, focused on getting things right, and deliver a superior product. We recently had a dishwasher leak which required some repair to our cabinets, and Cardinal quickly replaced and refinished the damage and our cabinets are as good as new. Highly recommended!

I gave 1 Star because I cannot judge the quality of their work as the never got time to even get an original design to us. He came out June 5 to look at our project which is 2 bookcases and a possible mantle. We had an idea of what we wanted for the bookcases but wanted an original design for the mantle. He said he would have us the design in 2 weeks and even took with him a hand drawn sketch my husband had made. 3 weeks later we called and reminded him and he sent a unimaginative computer generated copy of the bookcases with no mantle design at all. I emailed multiple times with no response. I called today and he still had no mantle design for us. 6 weeks later. His excuse was that their company was slammed with business and he could not get to it. If he keeps this shoddy service up, he won’t be busy for long. If he could not do it, then he should not even have wasted our time. I am so glad we did not get to the stage of making an order and deposit because we may have had to wait for years to get it.

Cardinal Cabinetworks custom made all my kitchen, bathroom, study, living room and office cabinets over 14 years ago when my husband and I built our home. I was referred to John Carey by the interior designers I was working with at the time. As is well known, designers KNOW who the best are in any sector of the building industry and Cardinal did not disappoint. The cabinets and built-in bookcases are still just as beautiful as the day they were installed. John is wonderful to work with, easy going and delivers the product as described and on time. I was referred to Cardinal by the contractor handling my master bath reno and kitchen update. I totally see why my contractor likes working with the guys at Cardinal. Ethan and his team are the easiest to work with. Theyre friendly and thoughtful. They helped me articulate what I was looking for so that I could make my vision a reality. The end result is beautiful, high quality cabinetry that exceeds my expectations. They seamlessly matched my new cabinets and island to my existing kitchen cabinets, so it all looks cohesive but much higher end. They are also reliable. Not only did they stick to the schedule, but they were always there no later than 8 am, friendly and ready to work. I will undoubtedly call them with any cabinetry projects in the future!

They did a wonderful job replacing some of my cabinets after mold destroyed two of my cabinets. The cabinets they rebuilt were better quality than my existing and matched perfectly. They bent over backward to paint the cabinets the way I wanted them done (I was a very hard customer to please). These guys went above and beyond and did excellent work!! They stand behind their work!! I would recommend and use them again.

John was great to work with and was able to get our custom built-ins installed very quickly from the first time I reached out. Paul, the installer, was also wonderful to work with and kept our house in perfect condition during and after the install. Would highly recommend!

The team translated our ideas into an executable design far exceeding our expectations, turning our OK kitchen into beautiful and functional. Furthermore, Cardinal has excellent customer service. Everyone we interfaced with was professional and responsive. From initial meeting to end of installation, we had an excellent experience. They are patient and accommodating of laypeople like us.Using local resources is important to us, as well. There is a cost premium associated with this, but it is money well spent. Cardinal might be moderately more expensive than alternatives, but we are so glad we chose them. They assured (and already demonstrated) they will fix any issues we encounter during our warranty period, and that helps us sleep well.
