Competent and Kind! My husband and I were traveling in our truck-camper when our starter began to act out. We called all of the Ford dealerships and began to feel frantic when they relayed that they didnt have openings to even evaluate it for over a week! Someone recommended that we check out this Firestone Complete Auto Care center, which we did. The service specialist, Charmeka Menefee, was SO helpful, patient, and kind to us! They were able to not only evaluate the problem, but were able to get a Ford-certified replacement starter installed the same day. They saved our trip! Thank you!!

Weve gone there a lot to buy tires and get alignments over the years, both in Raleigh and elsewhere we lived. We last bought tires with a warranty in Raleigh. The tires wore out prematurely and they honored their warranty! Of course its no fun having to deal with the worn out tires early, but things naturally happen. And its hard to find a place with good service and honors warranties. They assured Ill keep coming back! Well done Firestone!

Great service! I went to get a piece of nail that was embedded in one of my tires. Nick was a great help! He let me know from the minute I walked in what the process would be like, the total price, and wait time. Although I was unfortunate to have the nail stuck on the sidewall of the tire, Nick did not held back any information and gave me options. Will be recommending and coming back!

My sisters car had a flat on a Sunday. She needed to get home to another city for work on Monday. Took the car to this place because it was the only place open. I wish we had gone anywhere else. Dropped the car off at 11 am. They told us it would be done by 2. By 2 pm, we still hadnt been called that it was done so we gave them some extra time. By 3:30, we called to ask if it was done. Got told they hadnt got to it yet but they were bringing it back right now. Gave them another hour before calling again at 4:30 to see if it was done, since the shop closed at 5. Got told it wasnt done yet but they were bringing it back right now. We told them we were coming anyway to get the car because we needed it to get back to Charlotte NC that night. They told is that was fine and it would be done. Got there at 4:55. Car was still on the spare and parked in the parking lot untouched. We had to go in and ask them if they were going to do it for them to finally change the tire on the car. It was finally changed and ready to go by 5:30, 6 and a half hours later. A tire change takes 30 minutes at most. I will definitely never be taking my car here after my sisters experience.

I used to go here for years, but lately every time I take it in something goes wrong and they say it isnt their fault. Last time a wheel lug stud was stripped, which was $50 to replace. Okay. fine. Time before that they broke a light casing which I did get them to fix on their dime because I could prove they for sure were at fault. This time one broke when I got new tires and they swear of course, its not their fault whoever did it last overtightened - says them. Reasonable enough. Except to fix said broken stud now, they want $350 dollars to replace the wheel bearing. Its about $45 in parts if I bought them myself for a bearing and a stud. They want over $300 in labor to fix something they broke, basically, but swear isnt their fault. I just spent quite a lot this morning getting tires and some other items I did need, and thats how theyre happy to do business which my car friends agree that while that might be part of the fix parts wise, a good mechanic should be charging me far less for it. I wont be back here ever again. Theyll break your car and want a lot of money to fix it. Look down in the reviews and youll see someone else complaining about similar issues.

More concerned about selling tires than fixing issues. I took my car here to find out the reason behind shaking while driving my vehicle, after 2 days they couldnt give me a reason but advised me new tires are likely to fix my problem They also told me I needed a new battery, breaks and rotors. I had new rotors installed less then 6 months ago, so I suspected something was wrong, I paid the guy and took vehicle to a mom and pop shop, the balanced my tires and fixed the problem in 30 minutes. Called the manager to expressed my concerns, but he was very dismissive and still tried to sell me new tires. They must be under pressure to push these tires and and services, balancing tires is just not that profitable. I have used Firestone for years, I even own their credit card. Be careful.

Took my car to this place for an Inspection on Wednesday April 10th 2019. The shop told me I would have to replace my daytime running light (DRL) bulbs for the car to pass inspection. I hesitated because I knew my lights were in working conditions when I brought the car in, but I agreed anyway.Inspection records came out, listing parking lights replacement (which btw are 2 different things). I asked to see the bulbs they claimed to have replaced, and the person at the front desk attempted to get them, but returned empty handed. He told me that the mechanic could not locate the bulbs, and refunded me the money (Bulbs: $2.99 x 2 + bulb replacement labor $12.00 x 2 + taxes = total of $ 33.95).For all their current customers, I would advise to double check charges, and not to be afraid to ask questions. As for the franchise, I would advise to look into improving business practices to avoid investigations from the BBB.As far as I am concerned, I will not be back, but I appreciate the fact that I received the refund.

The first time I went to get my inspection done it failed due to a few minor things. When I went back to get it Re-inspected they said they found 1 other problem(tire) with it and were not able to pass the inspection. So I went and got that fixed from somewhere else and called them back and was given a appointment time for the next day. The third time I went in for the appointment the guy told me the inspector does not work on Sunday although my appointment was Sunday. 😡 At this point I’m sure you can understand the frustration. I still need them to re-inspect my car and after tomorrow I will never be returning to this location in particular.

Sat an hour for an oil change and tire rotation and alignment for only oil change to be done. Took 30 minutes to do a courtesy inspection that wasnt needed on my vehicle so work was incomplete due to that. Yet i was only customer inside the building. Slack service and management. Firestone has gone downhill. Probably wont use the services anymore side this is not the first time this has happened.

The guys at the New Hope Rd. store were very friendly and accommodating. They made me feel comfortable while I was there which came in handy when I had to come back 2 more times to have them attempt to fix my original issue again. After telling me I had to have a valve cover gasket replaced, and doing the work, I drove my repaired car home only to find that my engine was smoking heavily due to the fact that oil was still spewing out from around the gasket. I took my car right back and they confirmed that the valve cover was not tightened properly. After they apparently fixed this, I drove home and checked my engine again to find that now oil was still spewing out of two areas from around the gasket. I took my car back and they spent 2 hrs working on it and finally got it to stop leaking oil. With that said, again the guys were very friendly and welcoming and did do the work faster than I was expecting which was nice.In summary, they got the job done but there was a lack of pride from the employees to ensure the job was done right the first time. It was obvious that there was a lack of accountability within the workers there which gives the customer the feeling that they are only there to take our money and not really fix the problems we are having with our vehicles.

I contacted this Firestone dealer after waking to find I had a screw in the rear tire of my car. I called the store, explained that I would like the tire patched. The store replied that they only patch tires, not plug them.OK, I arrived to the store and spoke with Antoine, who saw the screw in the tire and agreed to extract it, and patch the tire. About 20 minutes later, Antoine retrieved me to look at the tire; here I was shown an additional small screw I missed before. He stated that, due to the proximity of the nail to the tire sidewall, he could not repair the tire. However, they would be happy to replace the tire.I asked why that is so, since I only want the screw removed from the tire, and was told that it is Firestone policy. The store Manager, Mike then reiterated that the tire would not be repaired. After bouncing this back and forth with Mike and another Manager--trying to get them to admit that it is a following of a policy without discretion, and even investigation of the offending small nail--decided to leave.I then found Blacks Tires on Capital Blvd. Shane, one of the techs listened to my request: extract screw, patch tire, and use a torque wrench on the wheel fasteners--this to allow a female to remove the tire in event of an emergency. We looked at the screw in the tire, and the small nail; Shane mentioned the thumb on the sidewall plus one inch guide that most tire places use to determine if a tire can be replaced. Since the nail was 3 inches from the sidewall, it could be replaced. However, I told him to ignore that nail, since the tire did not lose air pressure due to it.Shane removed the tire, and showed me the damage from the screw. He repaired the tire prior to patching. This meant prepping the tire by making the surface of the inside of the tire rough enough for the vulcanizing compound to weld the patch into place.(the patch looks like a large rubber upholstery tack). After placing the patch, and allowing it to dry, Shane found that the other small nail had not pierced the tire; it was a nail fragment 1/4 of an inch long (4 or 5MM).He suggested that Firestone should have dismounted the tire to check if there were multiple nails that had damaged the tire; since that nail did not pierce the tread belt, then there was no reason for me to purchase a new tire. After the nail fragment was extracted, Shane mounted the tire, balanced it, and used a torque wrench to tighten the fasteners to factory specs. The reason that I did not wish an impact wrench used is due to not wishing the Aluminum wheel to be fastened with such torque, and it to be removable by a female driver, in the event she must remove the wheel.Shane attached the wheel, and checked the other tires. All was fine. Moreover, he glanced at the brakes, and noticed all was well, but the rear pads were half used.I paid the princely sum of $22.50 for Shane and his colleagues careful, attentive work, not the least of which was LISTENING TO ME.Recommendations:The Firestone store will work well for people who go there, but it will be expensive, as the business model is based on replacing things that either cannot be easily fixed, or takes a longer than average time to diagnose.I called the store Manager, Mike after Blacks Tire affected repairs. He admitted to making an educated decision regarding not wanting to remove the tire, and check for the nail having pierced the tread belt. He states that his decision is concurrent with Firestone policy. It seems that this is an expensive decision for the customer.Due to his lack of discretion in applying Firestone policy, I will not return. I will, however return to Blacks Tire company.Since tires are standard equipment, then one is paying for service; I was listened to, and treated fairly by the staff at Blacks Tire.

These guys are scheisters. They will absolutely try to rip you off, and screw you into accepting their overinflated prices. I came in to ask about getting my starter replaced, and to make sure that it was in fact the starter that was wrong. $25 just to run the diagnostic. I can live with that, even if thats way too much just for them to plug a computer reader in. But the results? Inconclusive. They told me my *brand new battery that I JUST bought and verified it ran* was dead, insisting it needed replaced. The REAL problem, though, is the $570 they wanted to charge me to replace the starter. Just the starter, nothing else. $170 for the part ($40 more than what I could get the same piece *at retail price* for at Autozone), then $570 total. $400 in labor costs? For a thirty minute job? No. Thats outrageous. Then they wanted $50 just to replace the positive terminal on my battery (a $3 part at *retail* cost) - thats a one minute job. They repeatedly misnamed parts, insisted I needed more overbuilt parts than standard (they insisted I needed a marine positive terminal instead of a standard), and overall gave the impression that either they didnt know what they were talking about, in which case I wouldnt trust such ineptitude, or they were purposefully dropping phrases in the name of making me pay more, in which case I wouldnt trust their *lying* to me.What really offended me the most though? The moment I suggested I may not be ready to pay the $620 total (starter plus positive battery terminal) for the job (which I knew was too high, but wanted to verify), and that I wanted to call a car-savvy friend to get their advice, the employees seriously *turned my car off* and *pushed* said car into the parking lot from the garage. I was going to get it home so I could work on it myself. So what do they do? They turn the car off, leaving me to either pay their outrageous prices, or hire a tow truck. They *purposefully* tried to put me under their thumb and get me to accept that they were going in dry. They werent even busy - my car was one of three that came in the entire time I was there. The employees spent most of their time goofing off with each other. There was literally no excuse for this - they tried to force my hand. And you know what? They failed. I did hire a tow truck. I got a $150 tow because of these jerks that *I didnt have to*, bought a $132 starter from Autozone and a $6 pack of two positive terminal couplings, and I STILL come out ahead financially if I were charging a reasonable rate for mechanics labor. I would not spend one dime of my most hated enemys money here. They are worthless. They do garbage work at rubbish prices. I cant *believe* that I was actually positively recommended to go to this place. Do not go here, you will be ripped off.
