Everyone was so friendly in the office. From the front all the way to the back. I didnt feel pressured to make a purchase in store and was shown many different options for my price range. The staff was awesome. Highly recommend using MyEyeDr!

My husband and I have been going here for about 15 years. After my last experience here I will never go back. I sent a personal confidential letter to Dean with my concerns. That was 2 1/2 months ago. I didnt want to give a bad review without giving them an opportunity to try and come together with a resolution that would be satisfactory to both of us. I never received a call, letter or an email. The lady at the front desk was so rude. I believe her parting words to me were, sorry to see you go, but I am not going to beg you to stay. Actual star rating would be zero if that were an option 😒

We have been coming to this doctor for years. After the merger with my eye doctor and the changes that followed I will not return. The eye glass selection is no longer amazing and Im still waiting two months later for a resolution on an insurance issue. Dr. Dean is still the same great eye doc but we will be looking for a new eye care provider.

Regarding Dr. Dean, his level of care is thorough and professional. However, that is where the quality of service ends. Unfortunately his staff is less than professional and I ultimately had to purchase eyeglasses and contacts elsewhere due to their failure to contact me as requested multiple times. Once confronted, I received a less than sincere apology and no explanation for their failure to follow up. I was a patient of Racine Optical for many many years before I moved away and their level of service was all around top notch then. I doubt that Dr. Dean would be happy to know that his staff’s inability to follow through and stay in contact with the patient lost him business. If you want a good exam, Dr. Dean is great, if you want products, go elsewhere.

Excellent Covid protocol. As you walk in there are masks and hand sanitizer available. All the employees wear their masks and wear them properly.They took great care of my elderly mother and she is so very pleased with her new glasses. She has had poor experiences in the past and I moved her here to the Racine area and it was a no brainer recommending this doctor. Thank you!

If I could rate this business lower than 1, I would. We have been hassling with them since Dec 17, 2020.... so going on 3 months. They were once good to work with and cared for the patient but are now part of MyEyeDr.... big corporation that doesnt care for anything but the almighty dollar! Their lines of communication are beyond poor! I dont know what else to say except dont do business with them unless you have a lot of time and patience and money to waste!

Looking to get my eyes tested and new glasses.Called on Tuesday to make a appointment as a new customer, The receptionist asked for my insurance information and given a appointment for 2:45 on Wednesday. Showed up at 2:25,went in and told the receptionist that I had a appointment at 2:45,she told me she didnt have anything for Richard sprague here.meaning no appointment for Richard sprague at this place.she tells me maybe across the street at the other optical.I said thank you and went across the streett olbut couldnt find any in the area.JUST THINK ABOUT IT,IF THEY CAN MESS UP A APPOINTMENT before you even in the door,wouldnt want them to mess up my eye prescription..

Dr. Dean did a great job of making my little peanut feel safe and comfortable in a potentially scary environment. Dealing with a 2 year old isn’t always the easiest, but Dr. Dean didn’t seem to mind. He engaged her and made it fun. Never pushed too far. Very knowledgeable and friendly. His staff is equally as awesome as he is. I’m so glad we found him to take care of my kiddos!

Dr. Dean is the best, he and his staff are wonderful. They have a nice selection of glasses. They truly care about their customers eye health and vision. Have been with Racine Optical for a very long time. :)

Very helpful staff, nearly no wait time, and a very thorough friendly doctor all who were able to accommodate an expedited exam and follow up paperwork due to unusual circumstances. Id suggest you go here if quality of service rendered is important.

The eye exams are the most thorough Ive ever had. BUT, theyve lost my business as I went in today to get some contacts because my prescription expires tomorrow and I have paperwork to prove it. When I got the exam they charged me $100 for ME to put my contacts in and a lady ask me if they fit, and they would NOT give me my contact prescription today just because I never called them back, and she offered NO help in resolving that! I mean Im standing right there! All in all, I paid well over $300 for the exam and received no contacts unless I pay for ANOTHER EXAM even tho I wanted to purchase the contacts through them. Im sick of how businesses are getting sooooooo money hungry!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the clinic. We recently moved to the area and my husband and I needed an optometrist. We were thrilled to discover that not only did they offer convenient Saturday appointments, but we were able to be seen together and were treated professionally and in an incredibly friendly fashion. The doctor is one of the nicest people I’ve ever worked with and we had a great laugh reminiscing over our shared alma mater. The turnaround time on my new and much needed glasses was fantastic and they’ve been highly responsive to our needs. The doctor was even familiar with my rare disease, something I often don’t even find in medical professionals practicing medicine outside optometry—and extremely helpful to have someone understand. We would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for great, friendly, and convenient eye care. We will definitely be back.

Excellent family based clinic run by a wonderful Christian staff. And Dr Rosenberg is a funny easy-going man who makes you feel special right from the start. From the front desk to the eye glass fitting, every one is professional yet easy going. All around a great experience.

Dr. Dean is very knowledgeable in the field of vision which is the most important thing to consider.The staff is personable and fun to work with. Very good choice of frames for the whole family.

Update: Dr. Rosenberg is AWESOME!! He is so caring about his patients! He took very good care of me and made sure he saw me to see what was going on! He knows I have diabetes and talks to me like a father figure. Its nice to know he cares! I tell everyone I know about Dr. Rosenberg. My family have been using Racine Optical Co. for four generations now. We have had the best of service and friendship for all of these years. Dr. Dean will work with you to get your vision the best it can be with the most up to date science and medication that are available. I have a complicated prescription and Dr. Dean and his staff have had to work very hard to make my vision right. They have never failed. I and my family highly recommend his office for your eye care.

I have been coming to Racine Optical for quite a few years now. I love going here because they are thorough, efficient, friendly, and most helpful. They take the time to explain everything, answer my questions completely and I walk out with very attractive glasses with the best and clearest sight every time. I get a kick out of being able to read street signs before anyone else in the car. I have never been disappointed in their knowledge, service, and efficiency. They are like very good friends. DR Dean is the best! I have been afraid of having cataract surgery but feared I would have to go thru it cause I love to read. Dr Dean took time to explain how the surgery is done from start to finish and how my sight would be greatly improved. Now I am excited to get it done. NO more fear! He is so different from my past doctors who didnt want to explain procedures cause they didnt have time. Dr Dean gave me the time.

When Racine Optical folks says thank you for being part of our family they mean it. I have been going there for over 30 years because they treat me like an important family member. Dr. Dean is the best. Detail orientated using some of the latest equipment. The entire staff insures every visit and experience is Five-Star.

Dr. Dean is fantastic. He is not just a vision doctor but truly looks at the whole health of the eyes. He has state of the art equipment that can detect any abnormalties much earlier than traditional methods. I am very near sighted; he has the equipment to detect any hints of detached retina very early on. I highly recommend him.

I have had nothing but amazing service in Dr. Deans office! I began going (and taking my sons) since 2001 and referred my now-husband and we couldnt be more pleased! Just had my 1st visit as I switched to Dr Dean due to the lack of professionalism and quality at other practices. Being a lifelong Racine resident I’ve tried about everyone. They have the latest equipment but still the personal touch of a local practice. Soooo glad I switched.

Dr. Dean was great with him and had all sorts of modifications to be able to get through all the vision tests. I had an eye exam on the 7th i have called 2 times and left a message I am supposed to be getting glasses but dont know when cuz nobody has the decienty to call me back.

1. Receptionist could not have been more RUDE.2. I have MediCARE (a federal program) as my primary insurance. I also have MedicAID (a state program) but it acts only as secondary insurance. She still insisted that I had “state insurance” and therefore...(This is the worst part, and it’s regarding the office management and/or optometrist)3. I was told (like previous reviewers were) that I couldn’t have an appointment, and the only way to be seen was to show up on a Monday during a small window of time (two or three hours I believe) and hope that...A. I’m not just one of a dozen people hoping to be seen that day, and have to wait in line for hours. Or..B. Wait the entire time, and end up not even getting in, and have to go back the next Monday and wait and wait and wait, and the Monday after that, etc.But the worst part about this, is that it is blatant discrimination against poor people, plain and simple.To single out patients with Medicaid insurance, and treat them not only differently but clearly WORSE is the very definition of discrimination!Giving Medicaid patients ONLY a 2 or three hour window to just show up in hopes of *maybe* being seen, because they won’t allow us to make an appointment is really disgustingly discriminatory. Then giving preferential treatment- the ability to not only reserve an appointment but also the option of scheduling it for any day of the week- to those with private insurance is so maddening, I can’t put it into words. Policies such as these make me highly doubtful there’re legal, but if nothing else, they’re incredibly unethical.As a disabled person, I have dr appts at least 3, sometimes even 4 days a week. And for a medical office to treat people this way is unconscionable, quite possibly illegal, and again, entirely unethical.I’ll be making some calls to those familiar with the ADA, for starters.I wouldn’t go there now if they paid me to. And neither should any of you!

I do not live in Racine or in Wisconsin, but when I visit I get my eyes checked here. It is well worth the journey.

We used to go to another vision clinic in Racine for many many years. We started having issues with that clinic getting our prescriptions wrong. I had an injury to my eye and had to make an emergency appointment, Racine Optical was the only clinic that would stay open to see me. They were very friendly and helpful. Their pricing is fair and they really work with you to help you resolve your vision problems. I recommend them to everyone and now my family only goes here.

Dr. Dean and his staff are amazing. Everyone is very personable and professional. Dr. Dean has some of the latest digital equipment and knows eyes like nobody else. If youre looking for a new prescription whether its glasses, sunglasses, or contacts; look no further. They have what you need.Last time I was in, the staff sat and worked with me to try on new frames while I was in front of a mirror while comparing features and benefits of each. They even spent the time to personally teach me how to put in new contacts the right way. We also discussed UV protection and anti-scratch coatings for my lenses as well as offering transition lens capability that automatically darkens the lenses when in the sun.I always look forward to going here for my yearly exam and whenever I need anything for my eyes. I once accidently broke off one of the nosepieces from my glasses and decided to see if they could fix them. In 5 minutes, I was out the door with two new super-soft nosepieces.I will be going again in the next few days as I would like some new frames. They have an amazing collection of name-brand frames with great selections for both trendy and traditional tastes.Great service in a friendly and uplifting atmosphere. Check out the big fish tank when youre there, too.
