All the food is made from scratch and you can TASTE the difference. These people Know their chocolate. The mousse I had was rich and smooth. The sandwich I had was delicious! The decor has a vintage feel that just adds to the experience. Visual candy for sure. All this for about the same prices as a Kneaders lunch.Things to keep you in mind: it can take a little time to have someone help you. Its worth it though.
The Taste was a darling place with a lot of potential, unfortunately the service was not good, our group sat at our table for at least 5 minutes or more before someone even acknowledged that we were there. When she did greet us, it was not a pleasant greeting at all. There was another group there that was having a meeting and they were quite loud so it was hard to hear each other at the table. We had to get up and go to the counter several times (5+/-) to get help. Our server should have explained the drinks better, especially when we told her we had not been there before, then they were out of drinks that we ordered and there were only 5 of us and she didnt get our drink order right. As previously stated, it has potential and could be really busy with the right staff and a better menu. Over all, we had a great time due to the reason for our gathering and the company we shared. Yet, a bit pricey for not knowing what you are eating or drinking. It would be nice is Provo had a legit tea time place for women to go and visit, without the stuffiness of staff.
A lot of potential. Love the french café vibe, but the place had a strong smell of vinegar that spoiled my time here. Let me emphasize that it was a strong smell one more time. The lighting is a bit too bright too.The sipping chocolate was great though!
Taste is pretty awesome. They import exotic chocolates and even make their own. Its a posh atmosphere with good staff. The chocolate is high quality with a good variety. I throughly enjoyed my experience.
French vibes, luxurious sweets, and Frank Sinatra tunes—chocolate fans rejoice! 5 stars for their Afternoon Tea and especially the Mint Chocolate Tea I drank an entire freaking pot of and didn’t feel a single spot of remorse even though I was too full to finish dessert. Tasty morsels of the 3 courses (sandwich, scone/biscuit, treats). A must have experience for special occasions!
Such a nice gem in Provo. A wonderful, delicious taste of chocolate. The only complaint is the long lines and lack of customer service.
Nice Saturday tea time. The iced hot chocolate was so yummy!
We really enjoyed the Chocolate & More tasting. Very fun to see where the chocolate is made and enjoy learning more about chocolate. Highly recommended!
Very disappointed in Taste. Went in at 7:00pm and tried ordering but was told that the kitchen would be closing after the two girls in front of me. Oh and Taste closes at 8:30pm today. After I was denied service, 3 girls walked in and were not only attended, but were able to order food off of the menu. I don’t know why I was treated unfairly tonight but as my first time going to Taste and being treated like that… it’s unlikely for me to return.
Fun atmosphere. Enjoyed the quality of both the sandwhich and the deserts. Not a huge variety and in this place its a good thing. They focus on doing a few things exceptionally well. Delicious and decedent while still feeling fresh and tasteful.
Wow!!! Wow wow wow. We did the chocolate tasting and even did some shopping vinegars. I never knew about chocolate, like truly knew about it. I was blown away with our hosts knowledge and experiencing chocolate this way. I wanted to walk away with a bar of every flavor it was just such an incredible experience. If you love spice and chocolate please try the Naive spice chocolate its a palette pleaser for sure! I will be back as much as possible to experience the chocolate after dark and anything else offered at this sweet location. Oh side note, even the bathroom smells like chocolate! Wwoooww!!!
The highest quality dessert place in the Provo/Orem area. The iced chocolate is my go to choice. It’s rich, creamy, and refreshing. It’s like if a milkshake married into the royal family. It’s fancy. The taste ice cream is also too good to be true! Don’t be scared off by the Citrus olive oil or the cherry balsamic vinegar, it all pairs nicely to create a sweet and savory experience that is unlike any other dessert you have ever tried. Another hidden gem on the menu is there s’more’s. They make their Marshmallow and house!
We went to try the dessert menu and loved the chocolate lava cake and brownie. I loved the lava cake especially with bites of the raspberry vinegar but the brownie was sadly a little over cooked. If I tried the brownie again I would be sure to get it with ice cream. It needed something to cut the richness. The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous but the downer is that we were there during a scheduled chocolate and cheese tasting with made it hard to talk and very crowded. I wish they had separate areas for the tastings and the traditional menu.
I have been here probably 4 or 5 times. I like to get the Croque Monsieur when I go there. It looks small but it is surprisingly filling. I havent tried any of their chocolates but I have no doubt they are great. The staff has always been very friendly.
I’ve been going to Taste for a while now and have generally been super impressed by their selections and staff. However, today I had a friend come in to come meet me, and they tried to order something, but Taste said that they couldn’t serve her because the kitchen was closed. It was still an hour and half before they closed though, so I thought it was a little weird. Then right after my friend sat back down and told me what had happened, some other people walked in that looked like they were friends with the staff and they ordered something from the menu. I get that they might’ve been friends, but I am so upset that they told us we couldn’t get anything else and then someone right afterwards get something. I’m honestly just super disappointed because it was my friend’s first time there, and I wanted them to leave with a good impression but now they don’t want to go back at all. I can’t believe what just happened.
This is a great place to have an elevated culinary experience. But it is hard to describe. It is a high end artisan chocolate factory, with savory and sweet treats. You leave feeling like you have experienced the best life this world has to offer.
Didn’t have enough staff on hand to do the “mini tasting experience” (we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Friday night) so got the To-Go mini tasting. Wow, $18 for two ridiculously small amounts of chocolate—with a card that had no backgrounds or interesting facts about the chocolate. I’m sure their other stuff is good, but overall a very poor experience.
Such a fun and unique experience. We have done the chocolate and vinegar tasting and the fondue. Both were delicious. The tasting was not only delicious but educational. True food artisans work at Taste.
Taste is one of my favorite places to eat in Provo. They have a great selection of good chocolate, and their menu, although small, is great. Definitely go early in the week if you want a piece of their weekly cakes. Great atmosphere, great service, great food.
My girlfriend has had her eye on this place for a few months now so we decided to finally come in after dinner. Super cute place with a upscale French country feel that works! I highly recommend the brownie! For $4.00, it’s absolutely delicious. I’ll say it’s the best brownie I have ever had.. and im not super huge on brownies. The chocolate flavor is super rich and the serving size is perfect. Sad we found this place as late as we did, but we love what we have experienced so far. More experiences here to come.
Artisan, locally made chocolate. What more could you ask for??
Did the afternoon tea with a friend and it was amazing! Excellent food, amazing sipping chocolate, great service!
This place is amazing. The chocolate is exquisite and high quality. The staff is very friendly. 10/10 would recommend
I took my daughter and her friends here for afternoon tea to celebrate her 16th birthday. This place did not disappoint! The style has a European bistro feel and the food is delicious! My daughter is a picky eater, and she raved about the food. And, I was impressed with how they honor customer requests and made my daughter feel special by bringing her a molten cake, which is her favorite. They went above and beyond. My daughter and her friends had a fun and memorable time!
What a charming atmosphere! Try the sipping chocolate and consider a taste tour.
Amazing experience!! Great for a date night, group activity, or family time! Be sure to attend the chocolate tasting for a one of a kind unique experience! Eric will give you a tour and explain new information about not only their chocolate, but chocolate from around the world! A truly fun and entertaining event!
Weve been to the fondue night (book online) and it was AMAZING! We had so much fun trying something new and the price is amazing too. We love stopping in to pick up treats.
Absolutely loved this place. Set up so cute and makes you feel right at home. I didnt want to leave it was so pretty. Their desserts are really good, but small portioned for the price. We got the Smores dessert and the lava cake and they were amazing! The Smores was by far the better between the two! Definitely would recommend if you want dessert and want to go somewhere new. Love it here!
Taste was AMAZING! My husband and I did a Mini Tasting. Itss $8 and you can do it any time. The chocolates and vinegars we got to taste were simply amazing! Im usually not a dark chocolate fan, but the 75% Cuba chocolate is my new favorite chocolate! I will be coming back for sure. Also the staff was so nice and answered all our questions.
This place looks as if it was taken out of Paris. I’m gonna come back with a date. Súper super friendly staff! The food is really yummy and sophisticated too, especially the chocolate.
We had been to several events at Taste, finding them all a memorable experience...so Afternoon Tea seemed like a perfect idea for our party of five. Unfortunately, this dining experience missed the mark. Service was slow and clunky, with items forgotten and brought out late. The savory treats were okay, but the sweet items were blah. Sorry Taste...this experience was not great. I would recommend skipping the tea experience and just sampling the chocolate drinks. They were yummy.
The tea was super fun. And the gluten-free options were actually really yummy. I was kind of surprised because gluten-free sandwiches can often suck but these were quite delicious. Totally recommend it for the environment and the service and the food.
We discover this place not very long time ago. One thing on there menu is afternoon tea services. I really missed good afternoon tea. So i made a reservation for me and my daughter. Please is cute, reminds me of cafes in Paris. Your tea comes with little canapes and sweets. Cucumber sandwiches are delicious. Molten lava cake is absolutely sinful and delicious. The only thing, i wish they have a proper porcelain tea sets. It is not a cheap service, but not as expensive as one in Grand America. But its will be worth your time to come and enjoy great cup of tea or hot chocolate.
Did afternoon tea with my wife. Honestly, better expert than we had at Grand America Hotel (which was also really good). Atmosphere is so great, and the food and drinks were delicious.
I love to experience the differing cultures of the world, and even just the states. If I wasn’t already a Utahn, this would be a point of interest if I took a trip to Utah. The shop itself is BEAUTIFUL and ADORABLE! It’s hard to describe! It’s got character, sophistication, it’s charming, it’s classy, clean, and open. All rolled into one.The products they endorse are of outstanding quality.I’ll describe to you a couple of those products:1. Olive oil. This is REAL olive oil. Not stuff cut with vegetable oil. It’s spicy, and doesn’t leave any sort of residue in your mouth. IT’S DELICIOUS! My favorite is probably the citrus olive oil. They serve this, as a menu item, over some strawberries and ice cream. It’s heaven in your mouth.2. Chocolate. They make their own chocolate bars with local ingredients. Many of the bars are designed to reflect landmarks of the area! It warms my heart! The ones I saw at the moment were: The Red Barn, Timpanogos, and the Krishna Temple. These chocolate bars are the poster child of what I’d want to find in another state. Along with purchasing a Taste bar, the Amedei Pistacchi shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s, no joke, the best chocolate I’ve ever had. I don’t even like white chocolate! It melts right as it touches your tongue, and leaves no cakey fat on the roof of your mouth. The pistachios are also from special trees in Italy! It tastes like buttered popcorn. Taste occasionally carries chocolate bars made out of different varieties of milk such as camel or goat, if such a thing were of interest to you.3. Balsamic vinegar. They have a couple vinegars. One in particular, is made out of cranberries from Oregon. It’s so sweet you can sip it like juice! This store is a gem that carries some spectacular things. It should not be missed.
Took my mom their for her birthday. Ordered croque monsieur and the spanakopita, then did the chocolate fondue night. Didnt take pictures because I was lost in conversation in the ambience comparable to a French cafe. Wonderful service provided by Ruth. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the building, and was able to answer questions about all the chocolate and the factory. The side salads were really good. The fondue ingredients were made in house or really fresh produce--so much better than The Melting Pot in Salt Lake. Made me wish I had given the cheese fondue a chance. Really want to come back. The only thing I might do differently if I were to do it again is order the third sandwich to share in order to fill out the dinner a little more even though the chocolate was very filling.
Taste is unique in the Provo food scene. You dont go there for a meal--you go for a food experience, and they deliver on that. Their menu is full of tasty, unique surprises, like our favorite taste ice cream, which adds cherry balsamic vinegar and citrus olive oil to a great vanilla for the most delectable treat with plenty for two. Id seek out that one dish over anything Rockwells has down the road. If youre looking for a classy, comfortable place to impress a second date or for a fun girls afternoon out, this is the perfect place.
It was so fun, I loved their hot chocolate ice
We went for a chocolate fondue tasting and the chocolate was almost inedible it was sooo bitter. Even after adding all the sugar and most of cream provided by request. You might be thinking they just don’t know good chocolate but I’ve had dark chocolate all over the world and this was just bad. The service was good but we will not be back. Unfortunate for how much we spent.
This was some of the best chocolate Ive ever had! So delicious, great quiet atmosphere. Love the hot chocolate and the sipping chocolate!
My wife and I went to a tasting for our anniversary. I can say it was educational and delicious at the same time. I highly recommend this for a memorable date.
Love this place. The atmosphere is so calm and sophisticated. All of the employees are super helpful and polite. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the iced chocolate and smores. Great for dates, for when mom is in town, or bridal showers.
If I could leave more than 5 stars, I would! I had above and beyond, personal customer service. They quickly made arrangements for my tasting order, were exceptionally kind and professional, and personally delivered my order even earlier than expected. The guided tasting was well executed and we enjoyed it! Very classy and sophisticated. Thank you to the sweetest staff who helped me!
Fun chocolate experience and the decor is very bougie:) great date place.
I love it here. Sarah, Makennah, Becca, Cray, Jacob, and others behind the desk have done a great job each time I go. My favorite food is the Spanakopita, an AMAZING Sandwich. I get it every time. Also, of course, the chocolate! They have a great selection: I love the Melissa; the white chocolate Pistacchi from Amedei is my new favorite thing. Basically, I love this place and the people who run it!
The best date night ever was to sign up for a chocolate tasting and tour the factory. The chocolatiers were so fun and energetic and the chocolate was incredible. Highly recommend!
So much fun to tour the factory and then taste the chocolate! The process was so fascinating! What a great idea!
It had a great ambience and very good service. The wide variety of chocolates from all around the world in one place. I ordered iced chocolate and brownie and they are amazing. Really recommend this place.
Beautiful restaurant! Great price for my sandwich and salad. Fantastic change from the standard fast food I normally get! Highly recommend a taste 😉
After 3 treatments, 90% of my hair broke off... 😊🥺
One of my favorite places in Provo, their turkey prosciutto sandwich is phenomenal. They do an amazing job with artisanal foods, yet the wait time is ridiculous every time. Often I have waited for 15 mins just for someone to come out from the back. The customer service aspect is the only downside of this experience.
I love coming here! They have delicious desserts- the sipping chocolate is my favorite! It is rich, chocolatey goodness!
UPDATE: I wrote a negative review a few weeks ago because I left feeling dissatisfied, well shortly after writing the review they invited me to come back and gave me and my friend the most amazing experience! They let us choose any dessert we wanted off the menu and gave us free drinks. The dessert was AMAZING! I highly recommend the iced chocolate and the Smores dessert. They are both to die for! I will definitely be coming and back and hope to be a regular for our girls nights! Thank you so much Taste for creating a place solely for chocolate and high quality desserts. Youre doin the Lords work.
Taste is one of my very favorite places in the world and definitely one of the standout spots in Provo. Their chocolate tastings are educational and make for an excellent date night. Their afternoon tea is delicious and luxurious. Their treats are decadent and high quality. I love coming for the atmosphere, the great service, and the great chocolate!
I went to the Chocolate and Cheese tasting. It was amazing! It was about 2 hours eating and a walk through of there chocolate factory. It was amazing. There is also a bar where you can sit and order different items. My friend order a Chocolate brownie and I tried a bite and it was amazing!
The first time I went to Taste was with a friend for a birthday tea party and its safe to say my life has never been the same. The scones are SO good, and I bought my own French press just to have the tea at home. Ive taken plenty of other friends back since then, and love their quality and flavor. Its incredible.
One of my happy places. The atmosphere is lovely, the selection of chocolate is marvelous, and all the food is divine! Tastings are fun too, but I think my very favorite is the tea party!
I was missing tea time like I have experienced in the UK and this cafe does it nicely. ☺ Such fresh ingredients!! I also did the taste testing experience of their chocolates while my husband got a glorious sandwich. We are definitely coming back to try more items from the menu. The interior design is classy and makes for a cute date idea or to just come alone and chill with a pot of tea. Lovely place! P.S. my husband and I came in around 2:30 pm with very few people there so service was easy to get.
Absolutely charming atmosphere! Its like taking a step back in time. Such a georgous place with the best staff that always make you feel at home!
Hidden gem in Downtown Provo. Come here for an official chocolate tasting or just to try some of their yummy desserts. More people should know about Taste. Unlike anything else in Utah!
I’ve come here for a chocolate tasting as well as afternoon tea. Both were delightful experiences and the ambiance here is perfect for a chocolate shop. We loved the tasty sandwiches and treats that were served at tea time. My only complaint is that they didn’t have a very good tea selection. I was greatly disappointed because I love quality tea and expected to have some during our afternoon tea. I would highly recommend that they add more varieties of tea to their menu. It was the only thing that made this experience less than amazing.
You gotta have a Taste!Taste is the cutest artisanal chocolate shop, cafe, and tea room all in one down in Provo. First of all, they make their own chocolate and have their factory on the side. You can see thru to the factory from the cafe and scheduled chocolate tours are also available. They make unique flavors, including their Explore collection which features flavors that would be the flavor, or rather taste, of specific locations around the world. I had a Madagascar chai & milk chocolate bar that was delicious.Besides chocolate, Taste offers high tea, decadent desserts, fun drinks, and various sandwiches. I highly recommend getting the Taste ice cream which features a cherry balsamic and citrus olive oil. The flavors are so unique, it is phenomenal! Besides the ice cream, they also offer cakes, frozen hot chocolate, a unique smores dessert, and more. I had their seasonal pumpkin chai buttercream. The cake literally melts in your mouth, it is that moist and oh so rich.If youre looking for something savory, I recommend the turkey prosciutto sandwich. It has a fig dressing which pairs incredibly well with the brie and prosciutto. The interior of Taste is just adorable! It is perfect for girls brunch, high tea, a date, or a quick dessert stop. The staff is very friendly and passionate about what they do. Five stars for this Provo gem!
Best place for dessert in Utah. I love their iced chocolate. Their hot chocolate is also amazing. In general I have never been disappointed with what I have bought here.
High class establishment! Best chocolate ever. Their food is amazing and the ambiance is unmatched.
Ive been here a couple of times and was impressed each time. The service was great and the atmosphere is very nice. It is quiet and cozy. I got dessert when I went which was great, but they now serve savory options which looked good as well. It is on the more expensive side but I would recommend for special occasions!
Taste is “The Place” to visit if you have a love of Chocolate and a taste for fine things. They are creative and put meticulous effort into their menu offerings while treating their customers with kindness (winning combination). The “Chocolate Tour and Tasting” was so enjoyable...I highly recommend it...educational and fun. The choice of chocolates we tasted following the tour was fabulous with varied, high quality and interesting chocolates, including some very unique flavors. Taste will always be on my list of places to visit whenever I am in Provo.
Very friendly and helpful staff. My wife surprised me with their monthly cheese/ chocolate tasting as a date. Extremely fun, even if you dont have a super refined palette. Also tried samples some vinegars at the end. Fantastic. The only downer was how difficult t could be at times to hear our guide. My wife and I will do this again some times
What a fun, beautiful place! I stopped by with my kids on a hot day and got the Cacao Colada which was truly one of the best drinks Ive ever had! I loved the atmosphere! It looked like they had some really fun dining experiences like tea time which had a sampling of sandwiches, breads and desserts. I look forward to returning!UPDATE: I went back and tried the iced chocolate as well as the turkey and prosciutto sandwich and they were both delicious. Highly recommended!
The desserts here are good but honestly try the sandwiches. Amazing.
I love this place so much. It has a great atmosphere, and everyone that works there has been so kind and helpful. The tastings are great, and the afternoon tea is so well done.
Taste recently added gluten-free desserts to their menu, and they are DELICIOUS. The brownie with ice cream, in particular, was my favorite. You cant even tell its gluten free! They also have gluten-free molten chocolate cake and gluten-free cookies, which all taste great. I love coming here for a decadent treat and the chill ambiance, and I recommend these new additions to their menu!
This place is super upscale on the inside. I went and tried chocolates and vingers and its a fun experience. I felt fancy the whole time and will recommend to anyone who asks about it.
Super neat ideas. The chocolate is super good. You have to try everything!!
So in the past I’ve actually been a pretty big fan of taste, but the last time I went I waited for over 30 min. and noticed people who had come in after me being served first, then I heard one of the servers comment she thinks theyd forgotten an order (mine). I finally got my order and they apologized by giving me two small peices of chocolate and said theyd been busy... Then my iced chocolate wasnt even iced. Definitely wasnt worth the half hour wait and melted overpriced chocolate drinks.
Such a beautiful and yummy place! The treats were all so good and the environment is really cool but above all the staff was really helpful and friendly! If you’re a chocolate lover this place is a must!
I come here regularly to write. The atmosphere at Taste is always comfortable and welcoming. I highly recommend the gluten free menu items, especially the cookies and the brownies. SO GOOD. If you need a little pick-me-up, definitely try the ginger steeper. Its full of healthy, minty, and citrusy goodness. I get it almost every time! I really cant recommend Taste enough!!!!!
If you love baked goods and/or chocolate then this place is for you. The brownie is my favorite. But be warned. It’s super rich. One brownie can easily be split between two people.
We had the best experience doing the holiday tasting! MJ Made delicious treats and was a wonderful tour guide! We loved the chocolate and vinegars too! What a great experience!
This place is the best! I went there for tea time with my friend and I had the best time! They provide a platter of desserts and sandwiches which are the bomb! I love their selection of drinking chocolates! All the chocolate drinks are homemade so it may take a little bit longer but its worth the wait!
Very nice and comfortable. The staff is honest about the products. I went in after working out with a friend and the staff made us feel welcomed instead of under dressed or misplaced. Highly recommend
If you like chocolate and trying new things, this is a great place for you. It is specifically good for dark chocolates. There arent exactly many real food options, but the focal point is the chocolate, not getting a meal. The staff were very amicable, too. I had a great time with the mini tasting.
