Great ppl, fast service, all the baked goods, sandwiches, espresso machine (it might need some calibrating, tho) awesome music. They handle the train station traffic like pros.

Love the place. Cashier was friendly and the egg sandwich- egg placed on arugula, dried tomato, slices of avocado and brie cheese in between ciabatta bun- hit the spot.

Ive always loved that there was an independent coffee shop in the train station. I have discovered great music here. I even brought a friend who was visiting from out of town and staying in a nearby hotel, and he loved the place too. So Im surprised, given how intelligent the owner seems, that neither she nor her employees consistently wear masks. Now I not only cant get any coffee there on my way through the station every day, but I give the place a wide berth. Ironic that there are signs everywhere, including on the outside of the cafe, saying that masks are required. (Update: I gave it a try today, since I’m going on a long Amtrak ride and really wanted an iced coffee and some food, but nothing has changed.)

The cafe’s pretty great for a train station option. They’ve tried to keep a good decor, the menu is good (way better than a train station cafe can be expected to have) and the prices reasonable. They’re a bit slow on the service, but there’s quite a few takeaway snacks and beverages to choose from if you’re in a hurry. Try out the local Narragansett creamery yoghurt in particular.

Ive been here a few times, mostly for breakfast, and have never been disappointed. Tons of options for breakfast and lunch. The food always seems fresh and definitely delicious. Fresh piping hot self serve coffee. Prices are very reasonable too. Depending on what you order you might wait a little bit for it. So keep this in mind if your train is arriving soon.

Lots of breakfast choices. Server was helpful and courteous.There was a older unmasked man walking around the counters and I was a tad disappointed...no..angry that he was not asked to mask up.Got my sandwich. We ate and left.

Americano was the best Ive had in a long time. The hearth sandwich was delicious. Staff was very friendly.

Was only at the train station for a bit but got a club sandwich here that was simply amazing, hit the spot for me in the midst of my travels. They had a very good selection in general. Wasn’t busy, but service was great nonetheless

I am always impressed by this little gem of a place! I travel on Amtrak every couple of months on business and stop here for a quick bite. For a casual little spot, their attention to detail is impressive. First, I am always struck & so pleased at the great music they choose to play. Additionally, they have a rotating display of quality artwork, fresh flowers on the tables & of course the food.. It is comfort food but good quality & with healthy options. A place of refuge & relaxation before a busy business trip. Thank you!

For more than a decade Ive had the privilege of eating their food. It doesnt matter what their special of the day is, order it. Its exceptional. Ive never had a bad sandwich from here. Dapper always Pleasant, and I love the custom tailored service.

What a fantastic chicken pesto sandwich! I really hope I get to come back to get it again and try something else new.I was also very happy to see high food preparation standards. Mistakes happen but fix them correctly and that’s exactly what I saw. Someone dropped a bag and some bread on the floor. They picked it up, threw it out and then changed their gloves immediately. Most times people wouldn’t do that. You also were sweeping up and keeping the place clean. I appreciated that.Sandwich took like 4-5 minutes to be made, well worth the wait!

I call this marvelous place many times as I love the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The personel is awfuly welcoming and qualified. The service is extraordinarily fast. Also, the food they prepare is great. I visited more than once and I was never disappointed. The price is honest. I highly recommend this restaurant to to all.

Cafe La France is a well run coffee shop. This is proven by the morning rush of people who are taking trains and need a quick coffee drink, or bite to eat. Before boarding, you might find a line of people ordering a specialty coffee drink, a sandwich, or a pastry, and each one is quickly served.The attention put towards allergen issues is good, too. I have asked for gluten-free sandwiches and they do a good job of using barriers to protect it.Be aware that, because service is so fast, it is hard to fully track how the sandwich is made. This does not mean that the gluten-free sandwiches would be at risk of contamination, but it can be dizzyingly fast there.Overall, Ive never had any issues, and the service has been excellent. Bravo, Cafe La France, bravo!

This place is a gem! Efficient, light-hearted people hustling to crank out special sandwiches to the beat of the best mix of music! I was HAPPY to wait a minute and soak it up. (‘Was tempted to ask my quiet hubby to dance conspicuously with me in this commuter hub.) Then when we tasted the fare, we felt so blessed that this boost was nourishing us this way. Way to help make an ordinary meal & travel layover a special vacay moment! Adding this to my “happy place” memories.

Wow! I was very impressed by the quality of the food at this little cafe inside the Providence train station. I got a egg, sausage, and cheese bagel sandwich and a coffee. The bagel sandwich was made to order and served hot and fresh. The coffee was good.

Pretty good sandwiches located conveniently in the Amtrak station especially if someone doesnt want to have overpriced train food. Even though it may be a bit expensive, the food is good, portions are good, and the ingredients used are fresh. Overall, nice place to have a quick bite while waiting.

The food here is slightly overpriced, but I guess thats to be expected from a train station eatery. That said, its best to get a snack or meal while the next train is far away, because when the station starts filling up, the lines get LONG! I cant really complain about the service, and the food is decent. Nothing outstanding, actually. Its mediocre, but in a good way!

Food was fine but a member of the staff a short haired cashier proceeded to describe the president of the United States appendage according to stormy Daniels i found it offensive while eating as she was loud and wanted everyone to hear her. The sign in the front says all races religions countries of origin sexual orientation genders its a safe place .. just not for Americans who support our president .. #ToleranceYoureDoingItWrong

This place is very good for a train station cafe. A lot of the ingredients are from local bakeries and farms, and theres a comparable focus on the quality of their served food. They have started to accept credit cards, by the way. The ambiance is limited by the austere interior of the train station.

This place iz pretty small area, but there are ample setting accommodations, mmostly high chair and tables. Food served are good and a bit pricey but fast. If one is needing a quick bite while waiting to board the Amtrak, or the MBTA commuter rail, this is for you.
