Its hard to find an honest trust worthy auto repair shop. Even for a simple oil change and tune up. But time and time again Mavis in Princeton restores a slight faith in humanity. Honest / Polite / Hard working staff... and the cherry on top- they do top notch work!

I unfortunately hit a deer a few weeks ago during a holiday weekend, before I had plans to drive hours away for an event. Even though they were super busy due to the holiday, one of the employees Matthias gladly went out of his way to quickly inspect my car just to reassure my mother and I that my car was indeed safe to drive despite the visible damage to my hood and grill. I would highly recommend this place :)

By far the best mavis I’ve been to in my life!! Kurt is so helpful and everyone at the store is super nice and friendly. They helped me out with my car instantly. I recently got new tires installed on both my SUV and minivan, the folks at the service desk are very courteous and helpful and the turnaround time was also very fast in spite of them having many cars lined up. Will definitely go back again.

I live in Princeton and Mavis is my go to place for oil change. tire replacement and auto aliment. As a realtor I so appreciate having a trusted a auto repair facility.

Went in for an oil change. I had an appointment and was taken quickly. I had a small window so I was concerned I wouldn’t be in quickly. After a few minutes I was told I needed brakes (I kind of had a feeling). I had to get the kids but they said it would be done!! True the their word I was done with 10 minutes to spare. Mathias and Tim were wonderful representatives for the store. The price was reasonable and competitive. I will definitely use them again.

Really friendly, honest people. Went in for a regular check up before a long road trip. They checked and said everything was fine; didnt charge a penny! Great experience.

I needed two run-flat tires replaced on my car while I waited. It took me several visits, but the store was accommodating In spite of their chronic understaffing situation. An appointment was set up, and the job was done in 90 minutes. I also like their non pushy pricing attitude in pricing. A competitor who i contacted later, had quoted significantly higher price. I give them Five stars and appreciate help of Kurt, Clive, Jovan, and others.

Highly recommended. I was 4 hours from home in upstate NY and blew a tire while visiting Princeton with no options for getting home. They worked me in late on a Sunday afternoon so our family could get home safely. Although I was stuck I felt like they offered me the best tire for my situation. Very friendly staff.

I observed that my car was skidding on the road and decided to take it to Mavis Discount Tire at Princeton. The reason for choosing Mavis was over 250 google reviews which rated this at 4+.The initial experience was pretty smooth. I explained my problem. My car was evaluated and I was asked to change all 4 tires, axle shafts, gas shocks, wiper blades etc etc. While my tires did not really look too bad, I went with the recommendation and got everything done.Couple of weeks in, I find my car vibrating while braking. I take my car back in and I am told that calipers are loose and if not fixed, they can lock and my car can skid!I am not sure if Mavis really analyses the problems in detail, if so they should have asked me to fix what was really required. They possibly look at things on the surface and get the maximum $ of out of customers.I am not going back for sure.

Guys here are always very friendly, honest, and respectful. The prices are good and I trust them to do what is necessary to my cars. The one time I had an issue, they resolved it professionally and without any addition charge. I would recommend this to place to anyone!

They have been consistently competent and helpful. As of August 2021 theyre a bit overwhelmed, like many businesses having trouble hiring though staff; but they are handling it well and keeping their commitments.

Flexible and courteous to their customers. I scheduled my appointment on-line and received telephone calls within a minute. I waited about 2 hours for the services in my car: Wheel balances, rotation, alignment, and brake fluid. I sat and observed that the manager was very flexible with some of the consumers who need immediate assistance with their car.

First time customer, fantastic experience. Very courteous staff- front desk was friendly and prompt and the technician was considerate in taking time to come explain what exactly needs to be done to the car in laymans terms. Most places wont take the time to give you that in-depth feedback before just telling you the issue and what the price is without the explanation. For my tire repair, I was able to get an appointment for the next day with their very flexible hours. Cant recommend Mavis in Princeton enough. Its way better than the far majority of my car maintenance experience in terms of customer service.

Top notch garage!! If you need tires or service, Id recommend you give these guys a shot. Clint and his team of mechanics know their stuff. Went in to shop for tires and left with new rubber and much needed brakes. Clint has great customer service. He walked me through the different tire options without pressure on a purchase. While they were replacing my tires, they noticed bad wear on my brakes and said they could replace in the same day. Worked out great for me. Mavis definitely won my business.

Kudos to John and Tech that worked on my vehicle this past Sunday (May 2) I must have been one of those infamous New Jersey or Pennsylvania potholes. While driving from home to Princeton one of my Runflat Tires became flat. (pun intended) about 2 miles from from Mavis Princeton. I called and was told they dont have runflats in my size . I wanted a non runflat whos sole purpose is to be a spare . I was also told it could take up to 2 hours. I was prepared for the wait. It took them less than an hour. Thank you Mavis of Princeton. I highly recommend them,. They got 5 stars because of their Customer Service,. honesty and efficiency.

The team at Mavis is always so courteous. The service is great. The prices are much better than at my dealer. And I always trust that they are doing a great job and only recommending services that really are needed on my car. They just replaced my tires and brakes and did a great job.

I arrived one hour before closing with a flat. They werent sure they could get to it same day, but when I explained my personal emergency they assured me it would get done ASAP. Tire was replaced in about 45 minutes. Very professional and kind. Highly recommend.

Mavis Princeton is our go-to shop for our cars. The staff (especially Clint and Mathius) are attentive, kind and extremely trustworthy. Our cars are always put in the shop quickly and returned promptly with a thorough explanation of what was done (and what needs to be done in the future). I highly recommend Mavis Princeton.

January 2021 unfortunately the customer service link expired but it has come to mind in the busy hustle of life. Like many people I cannot do without my car, I practically live in it. I have been coming to Mavis the Princeton location primarily since my 2004 Honda Pilot and since getting this 2007 Honda CRV in 2015 I have been taking her here as well.I feel the mechanics here have been serving me fair and well. Back in the fall of 2019 Mathias confidently diagnosed I needed a catalytic converter and once they took care of it I was good. Odd though when late fall of 2020 I started experiencing similar sounds in the car and when they used the diagnostic tool the converter seemed to be the issue, I brought my car in the technician checked her out but it was not easily discerned this time. Since it was not a crisis at the level of my earlier experience as the alert light would go off for a period of time before coming back on.Then in January the alert light stayed on and the car developed a new and obnoxious sound I sincerely appreciate that they not only replaced the converter in case it had issues but they diagnosed and solved the new issue (obnoxious sound). It has now been well over a month and the 2007 CRV with over 271,000 miles is driving good again, I know she wont last forever though the service men at Mavis tell me Hondas can drive forever but clearly that is true if you get good service to your vehicle as my cars have received at this branch.Thank you,Alisia Monteiro

If I had the option of not placing any stars, I would. On 03/18/2021 I had the worst experience, I trusted them with my car, my husband was a frequent customer and we trusted his service but we were totally disappointed. my case spent: 1665.50 order number # 00074886 with terrible results, terrible service and attention playing with my time and my life they gave me a car that was worse than when I left it I will never return and my voice will be heard with my family, friends and acquaintances who never go there.

Not often do you go somewhere for service and leave feeling like you received service and attention above and beyond what you paid for. True professionalism to compliment the great service they provide. From the minute you walk thru the door until you drive away. Cant ask for better!

Took a full 24 hours to put two tyres on and realign the car. Didnt reset it properly so had to bring it back in the day after for a single fix that took about an hour.Over priced and poor service.

They dig around your car and look for problems, rather than just fix what you ask them to fix. If you drive an older car, expect them to hand you a four-figure quote for repairs that are unnecessary and/or way overpriced.The service writers are also quite rude and condescending in how they talk to the customers (both me and other people I saw there). Went twice, same result both times. Definitely taking my business elsewhere, even though theyre right around the corner from where I live.

These guys are the nicest auto mechanics Ive ever come across. They listen, they dont condescend, they say frankly when its not worth the money.I came in because the TPMS light was staying on. They checked the tire pressure and the sensors and determined they were all still functioning. While they couldnt clear the sensor computer, they did the check for free.

Took my truck in to have the air conditioning lines vacuumed and recharged. They were almost $100 cheaper than anyone else around. The truck was done in less than a day and it blows ice cold. The estimate and final cost were consistent and they did exactly what was asked. Been to them for a couple of small things now and Ive been pleased each time.

I needed to change my tires from winter to summer tires. Called them and got a quote (after they asked for the make model and year of the car) over the phone for a discounted rate of $15 per tire. He said he will put a note at the front desk and just come in and tell them my name and I will get the quoted price. When I arrived at the shop a different person told me that since I have low profile tires, it will cost $30 per tire. He does not care who I spoke to on the phone since he is in charge. He was very rude.I went to Costco. They have a service specific to switching out summer/winter tires for $10 per tire. They didnt care that I have low profile tires and dont understand why anyone would. They usually open 15-30 minutes before published hours. So get there early in the morning, no wait, and the whole thing took about 45 minutes.

I have visited this location many times & have always found the staff to be courteous & knowledgeable. The showroom is clean & the service is excellent. Wait time was less than I expected. Will be back!

Was there for a simple tire change. I like how you can watch when someone is working on your car, I always feel skeptical with dealerships taking my car in a closed enclosure and come out with random bills in the lounge area.

Awesome, upstanding guys. Took my car to them with a lit-up check engine light -- they brought it in, diagnosed it in a little over an hour (despite a busy schedule) and sent me on my way with no charge and a solid recommendation on where to go. Couldnt have asked for more. Ill be back for routine maintenance in the future, 100%.

I dont even think about this anymore: the team at this location keeps my car running reliably. Any problem I have I just call them up and its as good as done. No surprises!

Same issue as a complaint in a review below. I have a mechanic I usually go to in the area, but I went here to get my alignment checked since it was under warrantee from when they put on my new tires at a different Mavis location before relocating. Instead of checking my alignment, they test drove my car and said that wasn’t the problem, then handed me a list of about $2500 worth of totally unrelated problems that needed to be fixed. I immediately had them give me my car back, and took it to my normal mechanic who said 95% of the things they pointed out were not issues at all. Perhaps one needed to be addressed within the next 10,000 miles, but others were just made up.

Solid guys, always take care of you and only do work they think you really NEED done, not pushing on work just to ring up the bill. Finally an honest mechanic.... Ask for CLINT, great guy, always does a great job of taking care of the customers!

Ive been coming here for years to get my car serviced. Clint and the gang always take good care of me. Oil changes, tune ups, new tires, new brakes, battery, shocks...theyve done a lot to keep my car in tip-top shape.

They are fine at changing oil, but do not trust their evaluation of what is needed when they do their oil change. A few years back they described work that needed to be done that would cost over $1200. I took it to a mechanic who did the work for $700. Out of convenience, we brought our cars for oil changes recently. They told my son that his car needed steering fluid. Our mechanic said that it was fine with no leaks. They told me that my front brakes had 5% left and that I should get them replaced. I took my car to our mechanic who reported that I had 25-30% left. No need to change them now.

Ive been going to STS since the mid sixtys. Best prices, service and always ready to help. Many family member also go to STS stores.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!! The worst service that I have ever expericed that almost nearly resulted in my car being non-functional. This place is not even deserving of one star but that’s not an option. They replaced my battery and did not put it in correctly. The battery cover of the old battery was left in and wedged in my hood. Their “new” battery that was placed into my car did not have any protector piece on it, leaving my battery being pushed around for a few months and cracking. Finally my car shut off and would not move. I had to have it towed to the dealership. I was unaware of any issue with the battery until the dealership diagnosed the problem. Most of the pieces in my hood were completely damaged by the acid dripping out of the battery and eating through cords and trashing my TCM. Now I need to pay over $1000 in expenses to have all of this repaired due to their incompetence! Save your car and money and do not go here for anything!
