I read a few reviews before coming here and a funny one always stuck with me where a reviewer said they immediately fell in love with their sandwich maker because of how delicious it was. And here I am, completely head over heels with the handsome bearded fellow who formed this delicious monstrosity of a sandwich. It is obvious how much pride they take in their food and have sought to go the extra step with every ingredient to make these among the best sandwiches youve ever had. Everything here is great but the sandwich specials are often my go-to. The small assortment of premade food and prepared meats is also great, I usually end up leaving with much more than I planned on.

This place nails it every time. EVERY TIME!!! Top quality ingredients, people who know how to cook it and the right amount of neighborhood feel to make you keep coming back. Sandwiches are a must but dont miss out on the deli meats and other cuts ready to go. Top 3 sandwich in Portland hands down.

Got two breakfast burritos today - they were, for lack of a better description, disgusting. they were under cooked, soggy and inedible. worst experience I have had in a long time. This is not my experience with this restaurant. Very disappointing. WIll not go back.

AMAZING Italian sub and steak & cheese

When someone puts time and effort into their products it shows. These guys are no exception. Their meats are well smoked/cured and the bread is always fresh. Pork Belly Bahn Mi and the Mushroom Grinder are favorites.

Delicious neighborhood deli, big on freshness and flavor, with strong connections to local farms and purveyors! Happened upon this delightful deli ... the veal meatball with sauce, mozzarella and a flavorful pepper relish was out of this world! Also selling meats and sausages! Dont miss this gem!

I used to live near the shop on Vaughn Street in the West End and loved to grab a sammy there and take it to the Prom on a warm day. I was so happy when I realized the original shop is on Veranda near my new apartment. They make REAL Italians and all of the other food Ive tried from this business has always been top quality. Never disappointed and the prices are totally legit for the quality and service I always receive. Excited to go back to the Veranda shop many more times. The diner is great, too! Happy to give these folks my business, especially in these times. Bring cash to tip if you pay with a card!

New to the area and tried the Italian from the location on Veranda. Amazing ! Never expected it to be a warm sandwich and wouldn’t change a thing. From the bread, to the meat and toppings, delicious. Will be back for sure !

This bodega was an easy on/off the expressway. It had the bevies we were after and the guys were friendly with local recommendations. Not sure I’d trust the raw meat but deli meat looked legit.

First time I ever had a hot Italian before and my new favorite way to have that sandwich. Pete makes some of the best food in Portland. Try one of his grinders and your WILL NOT be disappointed.

Great little spot for sandwiches, which also happens to carry great sundries and meats. The banh mi is a favorite, which has fresh, flavorful pate and almost fruity jalapenos. Dont get me started on the meat, both in the sandwiches and taken home to enjoy as a different meal. Also check out the wine and beer selection.

My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time last week, at the West End location. We both ordered the shaved steak grinder, and LOVED every bite. Best shaved steak sandwich in Portland, in my opinion. Order it with the peppers, onions, vinegar. We will be back very soon!

They use very good ingredients and usually make great food but the past few times I have ordered sandwiches with bacon bacon is in properly cooked burnt and not cooked on the same piece of bacon come on guys you are better than this bake it in the oven definitely comes out a lot better

If Im looking for a sandwich or grinder Otherside is literally the only place I go anymore, but they also have a great selection of local meats (fresh, aged, smoked, and cured) and a few prepared meals to take home as well. Considering the quality of ingredients and preparation, I find the prices very reasonable and the service extremely friendly and helpful. An absolute gem tucked in a mostly residential area.

Grabbed a quick lunch here. Sandwiches, fried Brussels sprouts and fries were all excellent. The cured meats and steaks for sale looked great as well.

Some of the best deli sandwiches in Portland. In house cured meats available by the pound. Pizza and grinders as well. Breakfast sandwiches and coffee in the morning. A very solid wine selection. Take out only.

I stopped by The Otherside Deli before going on a tour at Allagash Brewey based on Yelp and Google reviews. The Otherside didnt disappoint and is definitely the go to locals spot.

I. Love. This. Place. Just the best. Great food, and some of the nicest people on the planet. Pricy, but so, so worth it. My best friend and I live around the corner and have made a tradition of getting breakfast sandwiches every Saturday morning. They have incredible apple filled homemade donuts which go great with their coffee by design dark roast. In terms of sandwiches, Im a huge fan of the italian, my brother loves the meatball sub, and the hot pastrami is nothing to sneeze at. If youre doing pizza, try the apple bacon cheddar. I promise you wont regret it. Seriously though, Quatruccis (the little classic italian place that was here before) was much loved by the neighborhood, and the Other Side is the only place that ever could have replaced it.
