I love this location for the convenience and really nice design on the outside. But more importantly, I found so many new snacks here that I couldn’t find at other branches. Great snacks!

This place is always clean and has nice people working there, the loss prevention team is on top of things, but they care more about safety overall. Someone who stole booze kept falling down and they were really intoxicated but the team pulled through, keeping them calm until the person could go on their own. This whole thing happened outside the entrance in the Walkway.

Nice staff but check to make sure the seals are still on your items. Noticed this Safeway tends to have people opening things and eating things in the store. Cant do much about the crazy homeless problem right now but just be sure your safe.Also this Safeway tends to be low on stock quite often.

I just went to this Safeway, and as usual they had every product I needed for less than other grocery stores nearby, but what impressed me was a young cashier who voluntarily put two Safeway Club cards in my bag, and gave me the associated discounts, without my asking. I only discovered the cards when I got home, and it was so nice to have someone make a kind gesture for no reason. Thanks Safeway cashier with the brown hair and dark painted nails!!

Between the Safeway on Jefferson and the Safeway in the pearl this Safeway is by far the best. Yes there may be a panhandler outside the door but its not dirty. Its easy to find things in the store. And the bread is not moldy and the meats fresh..

Kind of a smaller neighborhood market. Decent selection. Was very disappointed with the meat section. We were there in 6/27. An entire section of ground turkey had expired the day before. Most of the the ground beef was browned and disgusting.

This is a Safeway location. They had everything I wanted and more last time I went there. Stay cool Safeway.

Never been in the city store it was different parked in a parking structure. Up to the store in a elevator. We went to the deli and the person making the sandwiches was very sweet i have a 5 year old and a 9 year old and she was very patient and taking their order made them laugh it was a good experience!

I dont know about this store, but BottleDrop is available outside on 14th street. Not attached to this building even though BottleDrop says it is. LOOK for the BASICS green sign at 910 14TH.

The woman at the customer service desk was incredibly rude and ignorant. My roommate was buying a pack of cigarettes and the clerk would not sell her the pack without seeing my ID as well which she had no jurisdiction to ask for as this was not my purchase/ transaction and my friend and I are both very much so over 21 and the exact same age so the third party law doesn’t really make sense here. We both have obvious tattoos etc but regardless I was forced to show my ID without my consent or desire

Some of the staff are okay other are, well I think everyone has rough days and their own opinions haha

Weird location but safeway is always good to have around

An excellent shop in which to procure fresh tomatoes and gallons of pure bleach, but not recommended for Tobacco products or similar supplies.

Overall good experience. Limited parking spaces out front. Fresh produce. Friendly helpful staff.

This is a good Safeway. The groceries are somewhat expensive. However, the sales are usually good. This one is much nicer than the old one downtown.The best thing here is the coffee aisle. They usually have some nice coffee on sale for about $6/bag.

The flowers are reasonably priced and the people who work in that department make great custom bouquets. Not all Safeways are the same...this one has really good cake especially their carrot cake, cream cheese frosting. I wish they would open back up their bar.

Decent store. Security can be a little Gung ho even if youre a regular. The real issue is the 10+ homeless people crowded around the exit at night that ask you for cigarettes, change, dollars, food, your left sock, or anything else you might give them. Otherwise its cool.

Nice store with a reliable selection of produce. If only it what wasnt surrounded by beggars.

Its my second or third option, I place WinCo at# 1#2 would be Albertson, I have gone to them most of my life,closes store growing up. Knew Alot of really great people That were there over the decades.But if Kenows was still in Business they would take # 1 all time,The Store was located on 182nd and Division,The Rockwood Store,You see That Brad & Bill Ran the Greatest Tag Team Ever, And I. Say that my Parents Ran on hard times,They Helped Are Family Greatly,I would Say This without even blinking,We ran out of Food most of the time.tbey gave Credit To Our Parents.

Store is clean, staffed by friendly helpful people, with a solid selection. There are some items like vegetarian salad bowls, Evol brand frozen meals, and Yumm sauce is love to see but I can certainly find everything I *need* here. I hear their former bar space will be used soon to support online orders which will be even more convenient! Large self check out area is smooth and easy to use.

Its own ok Safeway. I have only been here a couple of times. The dude flying a sign out side the door was kinda a dil since I get the feeling he isnt actually homeless and was trying to hit me up for money or food( I am homeless) anyway the place had a decent selection and prices werent too bad. I had little interaction with the workers as I did self checkout but when I accidentally tried to use my fredmyers card instead of the Safeway one the machine wasnt happy with me and the guy working that area was quick to come over and fix it for me. I had issues with my bag ripping right as I go to leave and he was quick to help me out there to so he was friendly enough.

The Safeway is a little harsh sometimes. Its super busy high traffic it can get really backed up theres a lot of trash and not always the best company always lingering around outside I just feel like more could be done to improve the shopper experience

Clean, well stocked and well staffed. Good produce and meat. What else do you need?

Adequate. Inside is average. Outside there are too man aggressive homeless encampments. Sometimes, its necessary to zig zag through their squatting maze.

Ordered a cake for my fathers memorial and I was very disappointed . A 5 year old could have done a better job . Wont order a cake there again .

Employees wear masks incorrectly (not covering nose) and are rude. It’s also overpriced and not a great selection.

Its clean, organized, and within walking distance of my apartment. Theres not much parking around here, but thats to be expected in the city...

Pros: It has groceries.Cons: Never has buggies. Typical Portland problems.

Its a full-on grocery store. Great for browsing and people-watching. My favorite spots are the frozen section and the chips aisle. For a fun challenge, try using a digital coupon!

For being in the Pearl, they dont have a lot of things other Safeways have. The beauty section is an example. Lots of products understocked Lots of items like masks and make-up arent even sold there. Bathbombs and epsom salts I was also unable to locate.

I was just leaving this safeway and one young man skateboarded into the store and the other one only stopped when I put my hand up for him not to run into me. They started being hostile and calling me names so I went over to the security guard. He looked at me and said I did not see him do anything. The two young men continued to call me names and when I asked to see the manager, the clerk at the register didnt know what to do.This store is very loosely managed and is dangerous.I will never go into it again, I could have easily been injured and no one seemed like they would be able to act responsibly.

Its a corprate chain (Kroger owned) grocery store, if your from the south think Ingles, if your from the east coast autowala. If you shop at chain grocery stores, Safeway tends to have better pricing for the consumer than others in the area (Fred Mayers)...

Pretty sure this is the shiniest/newest Safeway in town. Definitely one of the bigger locations!

Most of the time Staff is friendly. Odd thing is with the virus 19 Safeway doesnt have any masks at the front doors. A person has to enter the store get chewed or stopped by staff to inform me that I need to have a mask which is a customer service AND then they dont offer and FREE one for the homeless (poor).. So, I went in for no reason at all...Good job Safeway...

This is my favorite Safeway being that it is only 2 blocks away from my home. Workers are very friendly and caring.

They have good personalized sales but the store is on the small side. The emphasis is on groceries not extraneous items.

This would be a miserable place completely if not for a few extraordinary employees. Bottle machines NEVER work. Customer service calling for help has routinely been more than a hour wait (unacceptable and I have left with unresolved problems). Just terrible.

This place is okay, but the crazy customers cause unending chaos that runs employees ragged. I live nearby and am usually in there twice a day.Daily I see- security running after shoplifters, or people in the aisles stashing merch in the variety of stolen luggage, baby carriages, and push carts.- terrible-smelling people blocking the entrances with their dripping bags of cans to trade in for $0.10 each- beggars- the “regulars” are harmless but other threaten violence with a string of profanities when you turn down their request for change or ignore themA dude got his brains blown out a few weeks ago in the produce section. He was holding a naked woman hostage with a large knife. She ran into the store to escape and he followed. See empty berry aisle picture!I’ve seen someone pissing in the aisleI’ve seen people master-bating more than onceI’ve been followed to my building more than once (both times near their closing time)I’ve see random vandalism “just cause”This doesn’t happen in Texas. Went there on July 1st at around 5pm. Line for self checkout was 35-40 people long. Cashier at a non self checkout got into a swearing match with a customer, saying a bunch of curse words and cultural slurs.

The employees were actually friendly and helpful today.

Well kept store. The only reason Im giving it 4 is for to lack of variety. For instance I was looking for a Key Lime pie, and they only come in miniature/individual servings at this location... Hate to say it but I had to go to Walmart 😔

I actually chose this as my favorite neighborhood grocer, but discovered last night there are ZERO scooters for the handicapped. They told me that were two of them that were stolen! You cant take a shopping cart off the premises, but you can take a scooter?I must shop at a place where I can get around without incident.

Safeway is coming and has a good deal. I usually save 35% on my groceries

Its kind of small and the bathroom was gross lol. Also I remember when Safeway was a cheaper grocery store so Im not sure what happened there. Oh and you have to pay to park although I could have sworn it has a parking garage but my friend insisted that it doesnt ( it was late & I was having trouble seeing due to my glasses ) so I guess the Jury is still out on that. Its a grocery store, simply, nothing special about it.

This pharmacy is terrible. I only continue going because my insurance doesn’t work at CVS. They have gotten prescriptions wrong and half of the staff is unapologetically rude.

Does your grocery store have a full bar with tons of local taps and nitro-topped growler fills? Nice people, good atmosphere, engaged managers. They deal with the occasional urban insanity with grace and humor. A real community center, glad to have them.

We were visiting the city, choosing what area to move to and experienced a view no one should have to see. The mentally challenged guy outside your store, who has been there for years, was urinating on the sidewalk close to your NE entrance. We viewed his private parts and it was horrible. Then after he was done your customers were walking in his urine! That’s a real turn off for customers and Safeway needs to do something about it!

I shop here almost everyday its my nieghborhood store I do like Safeway alot most of the employees are very friendly and helpful the only thing that bothers me is sometimes there is nobody to help you in the bakery in a timely fashion I have had to wait for almost an hour just to get a cake out of the display case other than that I absolutely love that store and the ppl the that work there. My dog jazzi loves coming shoping with me here because everyone is so sweet to her.

Cindy made up that experience with her smile behind the mask and checking me out without an issue. Repeated prices back for clearance to make sure I still wanted. I am going to make this short Melissa tells my girl she will be hired at safeway at the pearl District tells my girl to put her 2 weeks in my wife calls her and is asking her whats going on she put her 2 weeks in Melissa tells her I dont know whats going on but ill call you I cant believe she would tell my wife to put her 2 weeks in and then not hire my wife that is the most unprofessional thing you can do to someone im just shocked with safeway at this time I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars at this store and this is how they treat people time to lawyer up I guess.

The Pearl District Safeway is the best! The employees are so nice and helpful. Also love the quality of their products. When you have an issue they really do their best to resolve it which is appreciated!

I feel unsafe at this Safeway. It is cramped, and overpriced. I recently saw a drug sale taking place in the aisle I was standing in. There have to be security guards patrolling all day. I wish I lived near a different major grocery store.

Unfortunately the effects of covid has made this safeway too paranoid.... And they follow you around the store when your shopping cause theyve been robbed alot.... Now they feel like everyone is robbing.... Which they could be.
