This place is really neat. I had been looking into it before I even visited the area. When I arrived it was too busy to be sat inside so I sat outside hoping a spot would open up. It took half an hour to get coffee and I never actually made it upstairs on the bus unfortunately. The coffee was great though, and very strong.
This is a fun Portland food truck/bus experience. The second level has a fun view of the street and corner of the busy Hawthorne district. There are several unique hot and cold drinks of Egyptian variations.A fun little coffee adventure for anyone wanting a unique experience or some Burning Man style environs.
Tov Coffee is an experience. It’s so much more than a simple cup of coffee. The Egyptian coffee isn’t like anything I’ve ever had. The barista was fantastically welcoming and explained how we should make and drink our coffee. The bus itself is absolutely adorable. There’s so much personality packed in this bus. I loved it.
Fun place. Good coffee. Slow af.
It was unique. The place is locates on a double decker bus. Two tables outside and seating on top of bus.We had Egyptian coffee and Nectar of the Gods (cold). Egyptian coffee was alright. It didnt have any bean character to it. Its like a Turkish coffee with cardamom. Nectar of the Gods tasted like Werthers butterscotch candy. Its mostly milk but tasty. There was even frozen milk cubes!
Great vibes! Coffee is unique and delicious. Even their more familiar coffees are better than most Ive had. Please visit for a unique experience sitting on a bus in a city with Egyptian decor!
Cappuccino so good my non-cappuccino loving wife loved it. Amazing coffee ☕ and good sweets too!
Great atmosphere. Sadly they were closed for a private party.
This coffee bus is one of “the” places to see in Portland. Amazing coffee, lattes and teas. I tried the Egyptian coffee, which was served in this beautiful hand-crafted tea set, the entire ritual to drink it was explained by our server. It was strong and so aromatic. My husband had the rose mocha, amazingly thick and creamy. We sat on the upper deck and the entire Saturday morning vibe was so good. will definitely return. Oh and they also give turkish delight with their egyptian coffee.
This awesome tea and coffee shop is not only unique, but probably one of the most interesting ones around in Portland. This is one of those 10 best tea/coffee shops in a top 10 book of things to do in Portland. The owner Joe is a real fantastic guy and the combinations of drinks he has will offer something unique to any patron. You have to make this spot a must go to on your list. I suggest trying the Rose mocha iced or any other drink on the secret menu
This place is fantastic! I was a barista for 10 years and I’m not kidding when I say this is the best espresso and coffee I’ve ever had. We were traveling through Portland and rather than trying another shop, we went right back to this one. Superb would move to Portland just for this shop 🥰
A wonderfully unique experience! Drinking delicious coffee! On a bus!!!!! ❤️
It was a great coffee experience. I have never came back the same coffee shop back to back. However, TOV has changed that. I came first time for trouble with the cops with oat milk and it was amazing. The second day, I ordered rose lattes and it was amazing as well. Side note, Egyptian coffee cannot order Togo. They use a sand pit to heat up the coffee in the little metal tin. We also ordered the hibiscus tea and it was delicious and refreshing for a hot summer day.
Lovely little coffee shop in the middle of a small cart pod. Firstly I loved how this was in a double decker bus it gives the place such a unique ambiance. But the main reason to come here is for the coffee. I wasnt brave enough to try the Turkish coffee but instead got the Rose Mocha and it was delightful. Not super sweet which is how I like my flavored coffees. The owner even came by while I was there to check in and make sure I enjoyed it.
We got yelled at by the person at the counter. We waited 5 minutes outside with no acknowledgment so I poked my head inside to see if we were in the wrong place and got a hard telling off for walking inside. (I was wearing a mask, as was my friend). This was by far the worst costumer service Ive experienced in Portland. Id give this place zero stars if I could.
What a fantasitic experience sippin coffee here! Highly recommend bringing a couple friends and lounging on top of the bus.
Expensive and slow for unremarkable coffee. Maybe their specialities are worth it.
Overrated. We had 3 different types of cold brew and they were all very strange and off putting. As a coffee lover, I wouldn’t go back.
PDX! Barista with tattoos. Quirky setting with coffee drinks that have an Egyptian flair! Also, peanut butter marshmallow cookie!?!
Best coffee in all of Portland and the best coffee I have ever had in my life. Each cup is made with love and dedication. The wait can be long, but it is always worth it.
The mocha selection is sure to be a unique Portland experience for any visitors. I enjoyed my winey Mocha with extra chocolate. It is a bit chilly for rainy fall weather, but they do switch on the heaters. Fun place to visit and have a chat or play a board game! Dont forget to try the Turkish coffee, too!
I fell in love with this place as soon as I saw it. Dragged my boyfriend inside for a Turkish coffee date, and I think he secretly thought it was great too. We both ordered a Turkish coffee, which came with a Turkish delight. The atmosphere was so adorable and ethnic, it was chilly outside but we still sat upstairs. Unfortunately, the wait was ridiculously long, it took a good 25-30 minutes before our coffee finally came up, but the experience made up for it. I would love to come there during the summer and lounge up top and work on my lappy while getting my caffeine and cardamom fix!
The mint thing iced coffee is really refreshing and great when its hot out
What a fun and cool concept! A double decker bus slash coffee shop! And novelty aside, they do serve really good coffee here. Its probably one of the best coffee I had during my visit to Portland! The lower deck is where you order your drink and the top of the bus has a few chairs and tables. The space in the lower deck is really tight but the upstairs area is actually fairly spacious for a bus. It wasnt crowded during our visit so we were able to stay and enjoy our coffee on the upper deck! It was also raining but they do have tarps and a heater so you can have your coffee on top of a bus, rain or shine! We ordered Nectar of the Gods, Rose Mocha, and Are You Crazy. I got to try all three and my favorite is the Nectar of the Gods. I loooove caramel so this is the perfect drink for me and the taste of the cardamom is subtle so it isnt overpowering. The iced Rose Mocha is also good! The rose flavor is just light and it complemented the mocha. Are You Crazy to me is really Youre Crazy for Drinking This, but I say that in a good way! If youre into really strong coffee, like my husband, then you will love this drink. Its turkish coffee with a shot of espresso. It also came with a Turkish delight (Turkish candy) to cleanse the palate.Great service, friendly baristas. Overall, it was an awesome experience!
Visiting from out of town and both times we tried to visit Tov was closed. We arrived around 1:25pm on Thursday and they were closed but a few people were on the top level. Tried again on today, Friday morning at 8:20, and they were still closed. I don’t think the hours on Google are correct because they are not open 8am - 4pm.
The BEST coffee I’ve ever had, cutest place, nicest service
This is a really unique and fun location for Egyptian coffee and tea. It features traditional Egyptian culture different than the classic stereotype. It is placed in a big red bus,, where the roof top is decked out in couches, fun fabrics, and tables. The walls are lined with Egyptian historical pictures. Now onto the drinks...Joseph has created a menu that reminds me of the street drinks in Egypt. One of the featured drinks is Sahlap, which is a hot, milky drink with cinnamon and pistachio that is found throughout the Middle East...perfect for a cold day. This is the only place in Portland with sahlap so far. Karkadea is a iced, sweet hibiscus drink. All the drinks are fresh and amazing!!
Amazing egyptian coffee. The owner is truly passionate about coffee and has amazing customer service
Yum! Unique coffee and non-coffee drinks served from a double decker bus. My kids loved seeing the bus and I loved my Apple-cider-chai-rose water drink. We will be back!
Good food nice people
Excellent coffee! Cool concept, the shop is actually a double decker bus. Take your drink upstairs to enjoy. They make interesting drinks not available at other coffee shops so try one of those. I like the Nectar of the gods, cardamom makes this drink amazing.
A hidden gem. This place has a certain something that keeps me coming back even if I live on the other side of town. The service makes you feel like you are in a land far away and being showered with sincere kindness. Joe is happy to give suggestions based on your preferences and is willing to adjust the menu and work with you. That StarB shop has nothing on the best coffee shop in Portland. Rain or shine this is the place to go for a warm drink. Love the sahlep, rose nectar, and the hot chocolate that’s out of this world...#anauthenticexperience☕️💙
Best coffee in Portland. Atmosphere and and customer service were excellent. Love how they can do mochas with oat milk. Amazing!
I LOVE their Mocha Rose coffee and their sweets. They are very unique and great tasting!
Amazing Coffee! The Egyptiano was superb. I HIGHLY recommend trying Tov Coffee !
Best baristos in the area. Fantastic short pulls bring out the rich flavor of the coffee. Fun double decker bus ambiance. Very generous service.
Fantastic. Every drink I get here is mind-blowingly great. They are awesome.
What a wonderful second life for this awesome bus!Upstairs space was a wonderful spot for a conversation. Owner Joe wonderful... coffee & snacks yummy!
My rose mocha was to die for... Maybe Ill go when its not the weekend to see about sitting upstairs. Highly recommend!
This place has great drinks and a nice ambiance.
The staff was SUPER friendly accommodating, and mindful. We sat in the top of a converted double-decker bus, and enioyed a unique (to me), cultural twist, on some caffinated favorites... in lieu of enjoying the classics, which were also offered. They were playing some Arabic pop/hip-hop, on the speakers... which had great rhythm. I only know a few phrases in Arabic, so cannot speak to the quality of the message therein. Id definitely go back for a date, or hanging out with friends in the upper compartment - which is sealed or open, dependant on the weather.
Its caffeinated magic in a cup. Very balanced, layers of flavor, grown-up indulgence.
LOVE there coffee!!!❤❤❤
Essential for a day on Hawthorne. The staff is wonderful and the Turkish coffee will give you just the right amount of buzz. The Turkish delight in between sips of amazing. If you sit on the top level, please bring the wooden trays down to them, as theyre handmade.
Cute environment with kind service. Turkish coffee was bright with cardamom (a bit heavy on the cardamom). The coffee was well made which was a pleasant surprise due to my past experience with Turkish coffee brewing but would be curious how it would taste without the added cardamom.Overall, a fun place to go when you’re out for a stroll and want to relax and have a chat. This wouldn’t be a place I would go to work or a place I would go out of my way to see unless I was in the neighborhood. But if you’re here in the neighborhood, you won’t be disappointed by checking it out.
Loved the Egyptiano and the rose vanilla latte!
Amazing owner and the atmosphere is so fun!! Love their seasonal fall drinks the most!
I really want to like this place, but the owner continuously offends people. If it is not me, it is the person in front of me or the friends from out of town that I bring to his business. The last time we were visiting we did not even make it onto the bus before he asked that I present my service dog paperwork. I was with 4 friends and we were all planning to get a drink. My friends insisted we go elsewhere.I gave this place a second and third chance after the owner chased my friends down the block for taking a photo with the bus and not buying anything (we had just eaten and planned to come back later). My friends were visiting from out of town, had just arrived in Portland and ate their first meal. They were mesmerized by how beautiful the place is and was. It was pretty embarrassing/upsetting that they had such a negative experience while I was trying to show them the city I love. I cannot stress enough as a customer service professional the importance of separating personal emotions from the service your provide to clients. I would suggest that the owner try to be a bit more welcoming and less aggressive. There are plenty of coffee/tea places in Portland, no need to be treated poorly here.
Ordered three drinks, one hot and two cold. The drinks came all hot. We let the server know and he kindly said hed remake them. Moments later, another employee came to our table just to tell us that we didnt order our drinks the way we said we did but that they were being remade. Thats all he came to say. Who goes back to a customer just to tell them they were wrong (we were not BTW) and that the messed up order was their fault? What does that accomplish? Ill tell you what that accomplishes...... A one star review for others to read where otherwise I would have gone about my day.
Lovely coffee spot on Hawthorne. Everything you see is imported from Egypt, and its beautiful! So cozy to come and sit on the bus while sipping on some authentic Egyptian coffee. Definitely recommend!
Oh, how I wish I lived closer! Tov is often crowded and a tad slow, and you see why when you taste the smooth wonder that is their coffee. Their Egyptian coffee is dark, spicy, and coffee-sweet rather than sugar-sweet. The Turkish delight makes me believe in magic. I no longer have questions about why Edmund wanted it from the White Witch in Narnia.
Best coffee on Hawthorne hands down
This is such a good find. All the best quirk of Portland and the dedication to go with it. Delicious Egyptian style coffee and pastries, all syrups and flavors made in house and you can tell. Cold drinks have milk or coffee ice to prevent getting watered down. Even if you arent down with caffeine, there are other options, like Hot chocolate, or a Tumeric Hug if you need full no caff and non dairy. Still amazing, real tumeric root used and I think they even made the oat milk themselves.. thats beyond the pale. It might be a few minutes wait for your order, but its never disappointed.
My husband and I were really craving some Turkish coffee after lunch, and we found this gem after a quick yelp search. This place exceeded our expectations, the Turkish coffee was delicious, my husband even ordered a vanilla iced latte and that was great too. The service was great and the ambiance is relaxed and cool. Highly recommend.
Every time I go to Tov, Im delighted by the whimsy of a coffee shop inside a double decker bus. Not to mention the coffee. Its delicious and of the highest quality. They once had a charcoal vanilla latte on special. It was a creamy dream. Today I got a salted caramel latte that is creamy and delicious. They also have Egyptian coffee, which seems to be their specialty. I highly recommend this coffee shop. I hope they stick around for a long time.
Your new Mint Thing canned cold brew is so good! Thank you for making it vegan 💖
This place has the best Turkish coffee. The owner makes the nut miles from scratch. All the drinks are splendid really. Super quaint inside. Its beautifully purple too! Favorite coffee bus
