Super bomb coffee, I loved my pastry (poppy seed something I forgot the exact name but it was delish!!!!) The person who attended me was really good at directing me to the perfect cup, and had a great attitude. If that wasn’t enough, there is a super cool comic book store next door ! Thanks again guys! I’ll be back !
A charming coffee shop with great coffee and friendly service. The shop has a cozy and relaxed vibe, wild house plants (not impeccably shaped cacti) on racks, wooden counter and tables, beautiful espresso machine with a vintage look, and warm sun lights casting soft shadows on the wall. There is something nostalgic about it that I couldnt really explain. It feels great to grab a coffee and sit outside, taking in a moment of tranquility.
Case Study is one of my favorite coffee shops in Portland. I really like how they always include a shot of selzer water along side the espresso. It really improves the entire experience. When you are there, look at their espresso machine. It looks space aged somehow. The coffee is fresh and the baristas really know what they are doing.
Love this spot! The coffee and pastries are awesome and the barista was hilarious and super friendly.
Im so lucky to have this as my closest coffee shop. I just buy beans to do pourover coffee at home. And their beans are so good, at least for the lighter roasts. Great shop!
Their home made Nepalese style chai is excellent, spicy and rich. Great crew as well.
Outstanding. Among the finest Portland has to offer. A latte with boubon caramel is my go-to. The first sip made me an instant fan.
Love the coffee and perfectly steamed milk. Not to mention the baked good are ridiculous. If you dont want to be hooked, stay away!!! Baristas are always friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Def one of my fav PDX coffee shops!
Tried the coffee today and was a bit disappointed in the espresso after seeing all the rave reviews. I like a fuller bodied espresso - it just tasted a bit watered down, similar to drip coffee. Cool place, friendly and competent barista but coffee - meh...
Best coffee and friendliest baristas.
This used to be my 2hr study room before covid! Great place, coffee and staff!
So glad I stopped by this place next to the Bakeshop. They have the best Hazelnut latte I’ve had. This will definitely be a regular stop for me when I grab my baked goods from the Bakeshop.
Keep loving these guys. Best chai Ive had in years. Great barista too
Good coffee miss having things open
Where coffee is elevated to a new heights
Very cozy, good vibes, delicious coffee. Had the oat milk latte and it was just perfect!
Good quiet place to read. Theres usually good tunes playing. A couple of the staff and regulars give me weird vibes, but thats Portland for ya! Great neighborhood coffee shop.
My husband and I have gone to several case study coffee locations around Portland. Theyre all good and this one is no exception. Friendly staff good coffee and a nice relaxing space.
These guys have 4 shops around Portland but this one on Sandy is the freaking rock star of them all! Most likely due to the manager Marcus who has over 20 years of coffee experience with the finest roasters in town as well a bullet proof work ethic.
I love bringing my VW Bus Tours of Portland here. Their coffee is world class and as soon as you walk inside you are welcomed by its aroma
We feel welcomed in this space. The cappuccino is close to perfection each time. Were grateful to have this business in our neighborhood. Oh! Several-excellent-GF bakery options as well.
I love this coffee shop. Really good quality roasting where the baristas really takes their time for the perfect breve cappuccino. Kevin is my favorite but Allison and Marcus are also quite outstanding baristas. Would recommend to anyone who loves a reliable spot for delicious caffeine.
Great top quality espresso drinks. Everything I’ve tried here has been delicious. Espresso cortados are my favorite. Pour overs and cold brew are excellent as well. Great place to study or meet a friend, but the coffee is so good that space is often limited.
Great open space to sit with a group or by yourself. NE location very welcoming for a business meeting, either in-person or via video conferencing. Lots of windows for natural light with great coffee and yummy treats.
Very cozy vibe at this cafe. Got to start my morning doing some work sipping on some House Chai and a delicious Lemon Blueberry muffin. Spent about 3 hours and the wifi connection was great for my needs. Super nice staff.taking a bag of coffee w me back home.
Loved the location and design. Was expecting a fabulous cup of coffee. Not!!!! My brewed of coffee wasn’t hot at all. My husband’s beautifully prepared latter with leaf design in foam the same. Come on Case Study, step up your game!!!!
Busy, bustling neighborhood treasure. Excellent, richly viewed coffee, and lot of alternatives for non-coffee drinkers. I had a delicious vegan blueberry coffee cake, and my friend enjoyed a small juice (not vegan). I highly recommend.
I had a bourbon caramel latte and it was awesome. It tasted like they really put care into their process. Also had a breakfast sandwich that, although smallish, was delectable!
I like that they have vegan options. It was super crowded and loud though so not a great place to study unless you have noise cancelling headphones and dont mind people bumping your elbows. The coffee was sour, the muffin was good
Wish I’d been able to try their coffee. Needed to stop by to charge up my onewheel and bought a bottle of water while I did so. WiFi was decent and if seemed like a cool place to hangout and get some work done.
The good: fiancé said the cold brew was good. very flavorful. The bad: I asked for a 16oz iced mocha. They gave me a 12oz. Okay, not a big deal. But it had the after taste of Parmesan cheese. Not sure if the milk had gone sour. The drink looked tasty but it sure wasn’t. When we asked about different coffees they offered before it didn’t seem like the kind of place to remake a drink if you didn’t like it so didn’t even bother going back. Just tossed out the drink.
Long wait for simple drinks. Ordered tea and it tasted gross. Also they only have a small syrup selection of so called homemade syrups. Not worth it especially because they dont offer a sugar free option. Didnt even get a lid or straw for my iced tea I ordered to go. Ill stick with Dutch Bros or Starbucks.
Absolutely loved this place. Great coffee and pastries. Nice atmosphere!
I come here to work almost every time Im in Portland. The coffee is good, the WiFi is decent, and there are enough seats. I do find that either the chairs are low or the tables are high. Thought yummy, they could use more snack options besides sugary gluten.
Great place to study, read, or hang out with friends. Quality beverages, clean and open space, plenty of seating, and parking isnt bad. Nice decor-- wood everything and minimalist white walls/counter area.I read that its a nice place to write-- and I can confirm this is true! I came here to write a paper and Im distracted at the moment (but hey, Im still WRITING, just a Yelp review at the moment). Tried the lavender cold brew with almond milk-- delicious! I think it is seasonal though. Ill be back to try an almond milk latte sometime.TABLES FOR GIANTS! Just kidding, theyre probably for more people with more normal height. Im short (51 and a half, yes the half counts) so the tables are too high and they hurt my shoulders. #shortpeopleproblems, but Im used to this so I cant complain.
Great brew and great staff. Cool place too. Would definitely go back for a latte.
The service was friendly and observant.
Great coffee drinks and some typical pastries. Relaxed setting with wood tables and comfortable chairs plus seating by large windows facing Sandy boulevard. Many people spend time drinking coffee, reading or net surfing.
Delicious coffee, pleasant atmosphere, and a good number of outlets. I can enjoy a coffee or chai latte while reading a Portland Murcury while my phone charges in a cute and friendly coffee shop.
Yummy
They make excellent artisan espresso drinks, sell delicious savory & sweet breakfast food + treats, and there are lots of seats!
Staff were friendly. My drink was good. The environment was decent. Ive always heard great stuff about Case Study so I figured I would check it out finally... Either way, good place.
Great local shop for work/coffee. Friendly staff and nice vibe 👍🏼👍🏼
Case Study offers the one of the best experiences you can find in Portlands third-wave coffee scene. Delightful coffee, inspiring space (where you can almost always find a seat), and a staff that takes customer service seriously. Well worth a visit!
So many specialty signature drinks. I had all of them - loved it. Cute and quiet environment thats perfect for working. Great coffee and staff
Coffee coffee coffee. Delicious single-origin roasts in a variety of brews from pour over to espresso. great service in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
Friendly and attentive staff, good customer service. The drink specials are unique and high quality, although a little spendy. They roast and sell their own beans by the pound, and they sell coffee making supplies, so you can make it right when you home!
Jesus monkey balls, get the aged bourbon latte! I thought I didnt like lattes until I came here and tried it. Im used to lattes prepared like a quickly splashed together mix of milk and espresso; at Case Study on Sandy, I found the real thing. I will judge all lattes I try from now on based on this one. Their cascara soda was also pretty good. The place itself is really nice, too. All I can complain about is the prices looked about a dollar more than elsewhere.
One of the best coffee shops in town. The coffee drinks are excellent. Always full of people working, others chatting. It can get crowded though!
Amazing coffee even better London Fog.
Beautiful copper topped tables. Large community table perfect for large projects or group discussions. Nice basic food selection at affordable prices. No surcharges or debit card minimums when paying.
The place was very comfortable but the coffee was too sour for my tastes.
Very personable, deep coffee knowledge if you want to geek out, pour over available, multiple single origin, roast their own beans, and beans to go! Its worth the stop and it made my day!
Great coffee but go next door to the Bake Shop for your pastry.
In my opinion this coffee shop has the best americano. So far and I love my coffee. Also the chocolate chip cookies with sea salt is really good
The coffee is great. Nice place to sit and chat. I even liked the art.
My husband and I dropped in here on accident when we had a dinner obligation with his family at a place down the street. After falling asleep on the way, I woke up when we got to the restaurant and told my husband I needed a latte, stat! We wandering into Case Study Coffee, and loved it so much! Everything about this place is awesome...most importantly the coffee and the skill with which the drinks are made. I wish I lived on this side of Portland just so I could frequent Case Study!
Excellent coffee. Great place to meet up or work on the laptop.
Great coffee, but $5 for an 8oz vanilla latte is a bit steep. Also, when I was there there were a few customers in a way slow moving line w/ four employees behind the counter. 1 was buzzing around doing nothing & looked like a manager, 2 was stamping their logo on cups with a rubber stamp, 3 was starring off into space apparently doing nothing, 4 was working the register and making coffee and the only employee actually working to help customers.
The soy latte tasted watery (never had a weaker cup of coffee), the veggie quiche was cold inside and tasted slightly burnt, and one of the two servers was quite a slow mover. For $13 before tip? I wont be back.
One if my favorite coffee shops in Portland. GREAT cappuccino plus other fine coffee drinks. Always excellent whole bean selection.
Absolutely amazing coffee and bakery. Very courteous staff. Convenient and enough seating, parking is roadside.
Amazing seasonal coffees, along with a a great standby blend. Lots of table seating for getting work done. This is the place that caused me to fall in love with lighter roasted coffee.
They forgot to make my bagel but seemed genuinely sorry.
I almost cried for how amazing my latte was. I got a bourbon Carmel latte and seriously fell Inlove. I’ve never been so excited to drink coffee in my life.
Pretty hipster, but definitely a favorite of mine. Great coffee. They have a cool atmosphere, wifi, plenty of plug in spots, making for a great place to meet up with a friend or get some work done.
Best hazelnut latte Ive ever had. Great recommendation by the friendly barista!
My wife called the hot chocolate the best shed ever had! I had a delicious cappucino, perfect velvety foam and great espresso. They have Bowery bagels and incredible pastry from next door (I think). Im hooked!
The decaf Americano they made me was great! Hard to find tasty decaf coffee. Not a comfy couch place, but friendly and a great place for students.
This is a great cafe. I love the vibe here and the coffee is excellent. The seating can be a bit limited since it is such a popular place.
Very friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere. I have to say very great coffee too!
This is the best coffee I have had in Portland. The atmosphere is nice, warm and friendly. Theres good wifi, plenty of outlets and lots of space to work. The have a great selection of pastries including vegan and gluten-free options from Petunias.
I stoped in here once. It had a trendy atmosphere and the employees were really nice. If I remember correctly they roast their own beens. Great coffee!
Case study has good chai latte. I go there to drink it often. Sometimes there are bugs so 4 stars. Friendly stuff and good coffee.
Easily the best pourover Ive had in a while. Keep up the good work guys
One of my favorite local spots to hang out and have some coffee!
Best coffee option for this part of town. Good vibes and great coffee. Lots of people on lap tops.
I had a yummy bagel with cream cheese and a coffee. No complaints there. I dont get all of three people and their work at a cafe .... It bugs me. Go do your work in an office or a library.
Seasonal coffee and pastry were flavorful and unique. Warm ambiance. Friendly staff.
Just enjoyed the best latte Ive had in a long time. Friendly staff, lots of seating and excellent third-wave coffee means that Ill definitely be back next time Im in town.
Chilled out eatside location is rootsy and definitely laid back and low key (translation: quiet & ounassuming) in contrast to the oft-crowded frenetic downtown location. The coffee and service is good, too.
Great coffee with a great space to hang out in. Perfect for picking up a cup or just sitting and sipping a cappuccino. Service can be a bit grumpy but the coffee is always good
Perfect cup and great vibe every time!
The folks that work here are genuinely nice. Their Deviation blend is the best shot of espresso in my neighborhood and possibly in town, IMO.
Love this place! Their sea salt carmel latte is amazing! 😍😍
I like the chai and they have good baked goods. Your classic cafe, a nice place to pick up a snack and drink.
Delicious brews and a very friendly relaxing atmosphere!
Great service and coffee. Nice place to visit with friends and a sweet treat too.
I love Case Study!! The atmosphere is simple and calming. The coffee is great and the baristas are super cute :)
