I went in for a very specific item there are books everywhere of every topic that I could see. It was about 1,400 square feet 2 office spaces. He also has other areas books are held. At a glance I would say over a thousand. He has a good personality straightforward honest person . He has good knowledge of where his books are and what theyre about . I can see him being a Powells Books one day. Just better customer service. If youre searching or just need a good read check it out.

They have a great collection of used books in good condition. It was hard to stop at 5 books.Im not big on the religion and philosophy, but it has an extremely good inventory of those sorts of books. If you dont know it is there, you might miss it as it just looks like another house on the street. I recommend that you make it a must visit whenever biking through north Portland.

Whoever you are reading this review, know that I charge you with a serious responsibility, to which I attach the sternest sanctions that love can bear. Do not share this bookstore with any unless you really believe that they are a person deeply committed to following love. I have in mind a person who, over and above the good works of the active life, has resolved to follow love into the inmost depths of contemplation. As for worldly gossips, flatterers, the scrupulous, talebearers, busybodies, and the hypercritical, I would just as soon they never laid eyes on this bookstore.

Every neighborhood should be so lucky as to have a book store like this. Its meaningful and carries the right books for the ways of learning from and for the lives we would all want and need. Thank you. Please everyone support your independent bookstore. They need you as much as you need them. My name is Roger Browning, author of a novel thats out right now at Amazon. It is a story about a troubled family of inheritance and greed, titled The Reckoning of Rance.

Such a sweet little bookshop. Thank you for being here :-) we got a few coloring books and a really cool old cookbook :-) we also love your kitty cat :-)I have to update this because about 2 hours after I brought my girlfriend to this shop, I proposed to her around the mile marker 80 going north on I5. This was the last stop we made as girlfriend/boyfriend. We have now been married for about a month and so happy. We love the coloring books we got :) I just bought her a set of 100 gel ink pens so she could do them really well :)

Windows is the best biblical/theological bookstore in the city, by far. They also have great selections in fiction, philosophy, Judaica, and a number of other genres. The prices are great (check out the $1 mass markets and $5 shelves). Adam is a fair and honest book buyer, and overall guru. Mike and Hilda are some of the finest people youll ever meet.

I love that there is a book store in the neighborhood! The building is small but crammed to the brim with books mostly on the ology subjects but youll find small sections dedicated to fiction, lit, tiny bit of art and kids non-fiction, and other random subjects strewn about. There were a handful of employees available but were in discussion a majority of the hour spent perusing the books so I wasnt able to get what I needed and the prices for used books were a touch bit high but do-able if you really needed the book.

This is everything a used book store should be. Small and intimate, shelves close together and overflowing. A rare find.

Windows Booksellers is truly an amazing store. I brought my daughter after her baptism to pick out her first bible. The owner was knowlegable and kind. The prices are also incredible!

My favorite bookstore in the neighborhood. You wont find recent best-selling novels here, or coffee or comfy chairs, but you will find an amazing selection of classic literature, intriguing old scholarly paperbacks, fun reference books, and the occasional 18th or 19th century leather-bound tome. Theres also Portlands best selection of Christian theology, philosophy, and exegesis, if thats your thing (and if you like C. S. Lewis, it just might be). I could browse in this little shop for hours. And I have.

Nice place, run by nice people. But theres a little too much religious books and not enough literature; the ratio is awful and unvarying.

Hilda, Mike, and Adam have a great selection of theology, biblical studies, spiritual formation, and ministry books. They scour libraries of retired professors for the very best, and offer many of the great books from their own publishing company Wipf & Stock.Service and selection couldnt be finer.

This Christian bookstore specializes in Biblical and theological academic works, but has so much more. Its surprisingly filled inside with new books (at 20% off retail) and used books (competitive with online retailers). The staff there are amazing! Every year they have a customer appreciation sale, 50% off used prices, so visit the store website and sign up for their newsletter to know when that happens. If you cant find a book they will find it for you! They have sections for ministry/Christian living, Bible commentaries, theology, Biblical Studies (Old Testament and New Testament), political theology and culture, psychology, literature, philosophy, church history, archaeology, preaching, Bible Interpretation, Judaica, liturgical studies and more! Woah. Seriously.Every week new-to-the-store used books come in so the inventory is always fresh. Check out the Used New Arrival section at the front, and make sure to check out Inklings section as well. Lovely bookstore, amazing folks.(Note: I am currently an employee of the store but was a customer for 4 years prior.)

So, its technically the campus bookstore for Multnomah University, buts its waaaaay more than a campus bookstore. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The prices are more than fair. They can order you books they dont have in store (and sometimes pass a discount on to you). For a small bookstore, they keep a wide range of books in-stock (possibly by not stocking much of the Prayer of Jabez/Thomas Kincade/Secrets To Your Best Life NOW shenanigans). If its a theologically-oriented book at all, Ill see if they have it before I check Amazon, etc.
