I LOVE this place!! They have quality art resources for damn good prices! That, and they are amazing to talk to for ideas and ways to get a project done. They literally helped me do this! The staff are amazing and wonderful, and they have such good products! Im in love with this art supply store! They will definitely be my first stop every time I need something!

Best art store, hands down. Coming from someone who knows the ins and outs and had worked here 16 years! No better local business you could support. Knowledgeable staff, and and an amazing owner! These people are family and will go the extra mile to help you with all your artistic endeavors. This place and these people are a gem!

New owner will go on and on about keeping all her staff to everyone who comes in, but I worked there two months, watched two of the three long term staff jump ship, and was laid off with no warning for no reason. Store is hopelessly disorganized behind the scenes, attempts to understand or organize were taken as talking back. Owner only cares about wealthy, fine arts customers, any talk about community is a lie. I got in trouble for giving a man water that 100F wave and for helping a disoriented elderly woman get a ride home, both in times where it didnt impair my other work duties or cost the store a dime. The store is cute but it does NOT care about you, or its own staff. Shopping local is a great concept but staff are paid minimum wage and treated terribly, your money isnt going to anything worthwhile supporting this business.

Fabulous little art supply store. It’s not large but they have lots of fun inventory, loads of framing supplies and the occasional sidewalk sale.

This is hands down the best art supply store in the Portland area. Not only do they have a huge inventory (or will special order whatever you need), the best prices, and the easiest and most affordable framing options, they are seriously the NICEST people. They will go out of their way to help and seem genuinely invested in my artistic success. They even ask what I’m working on sometimes. This is and will always be my art supply home. ❤️

That I am anticipating oh so very creatively certain be able to stock up on badly needed paper card craft supplies maybe stamp dissstressing inks, .acid free sturdy solid cardstock for 3d pop up holiday decorations and more. They are open for phones in orders here in April, and Im always happy to support local businesses. I didnt think they would have what I was looking for but they did. Theyre super low key and the price was pretty good. I was happy I went there instead of looking on Amazon.

My absolute favorite used art supply store. I am always surprised at the variety in their items and the staff is always very kind. Very cheap if you buy right.

This is a cute store with inexpensive art supplies. They have used frames in lots of sizes, and do custom framing too. Its like art thrift store crossed with Art Media if it were still around.If youre coming NW on Foster, you have to take a left 2 blocks or so before you come to it, any closer and you cant make a left. Park by the post office

I cant wait for this store to fully reopen. You can order online and pickup at the store. A friend referred me to this place and I was sad when I got there it wasnt fully open. The lady gave me a card for the website. Awesome place!

Unbelievable art supply store! Like going into a candy storeand finding goodies youve never seen! Great prices (especially if your needing everything). They even had used paints if you are a student with nothing for your first class. Small and packed to the rafters. Cant wait to go back when Ive got hours to browse!

This place was such a great find. I had passed it many times and finally popped my head in. Super fun and I could have spent hours in there. I found some great Christmas gifts for friends and family. And myself!

Ive Been Framed has a wide variety of art supplies, including used items that still have lots of love to give, at a discount. The canvas shop did a great job creating a custom triptych canvas set for me last year, and the pricing was reasonable. Its a great spot to take kids, as they will be inspired by all there is to look at, including art made by the staff. Additionally, many small items are less than a dollar, with some colored pencils costing only a penny, so kiddos can walk away with something new purchased with their own pocket change. This shop is a favorite, and always my first stop.

These are great humans found all they can to keep us artists supplied during the quarantine. Its easy to use their online form, and theyre doing curbside pickup.

They framed artwork that I just bought, did a beautiful job! As a result, I brought several other pieces for them to frame. Their service is superb, and their work is stellar. They also have a plethora of unique art materials that Ive never seen anywhere else, things that inspire and motivate creativity. I highly recommend Ive Been Framed. Its worth the drive to Foster Road.

Seriously, the service here is amazing. Besides, their bargains in new and used art supplies are always worth a gander. I no longer live in SE but I make a point to stop in whenever Im in the neighborhood.

One of the better frame shops I’ve worked with. If they make a mistake they will fix it for no extra charge and without argument. They are easy to work with and my framing projects are always done on time.

Ive Been Framed is my first stop for art supplies around Portland. They also seem to be one of the more affordable options for custom framing. They have a great variety of highly discounted art supplies and staff are always quite knowledgeable and willing to help with questions. Watch for their sidewalk sales when they have great deals on reusable canvases. If you want to start exploring a new medium on a budget, this is great place.

I just moved into the neighborhood. I finally went to check this place out, as Ive delved heavily into arts and crafts of late. I was delighted to explore the vast stock! I love that there are used things you can buy cheap, as well as individual eyedroppers or things that youd normally have to buy in bulk. Theres a great atmosphere of community with this place. The prices are often higher than Blicks, but I feel so much better going here. The choices of what to stock for each section shows the experience and knowledge of the owner. I left with a smile on my face after looking around for more than an hour.

The staff were just great, and the service was very efficient. Not only are they knowledgable, but they are very friendly. I needed some foamcore cut and some very minor things done. Was a real pleasure.

Came here for the first time over the weekend to find some frames, they have a great selection of frames for cheap and custom framing, the staff was very helpful and nice to speak to even came over to ask if I needed extra help. After I made my purchase I believe the owner came by and offered to open the front door for me which I thought was really nice, good to see a local business with that friendly customer service attitude. I dont know about the prices for the other art supplies but I was very happy to shop here and plan to go back to finish my framing.

Phenomenal selection, great prices, and helpful and kind staff. On a couple of occasions I have nearly given up on finding supplies and ordered things on Amazon, only to find them here at a better price. Also, the music they have playing always reminds me of working in a kitchen with a team of feminist hippies in the late 90s. Love this place.

My first time getting to go to this lovely shop, and it was great!! I loved it, I had a lot looking through the store and seeing all of the cool art stuff that they have. They have tons! Many different brands and styles, & just about anything that ANY artist could possibly WANT. I even got to speak to the owner and he was a wonderful man, made me feel very welcome. Its a delight to just go in and wander around, somehow in relatively small space they have managed to create a well organized labyrinths of everything an artist would need and a few things a crafty hobbyist or home decorator could use as well. I enjoy going to Ive Been Framed for a good selection of affordable and quality used art supplies. The staff is really helpful, often with someone on hand who has worked with many of the materials on hand. Definitely worth stopping in for a visit.

They were unable to stretch a really old canvas properly without doing damage, but they stretched and framed it as good as it gets and even provided a partial refund for the stretching fee. They were great at communication and Im very happy with the end result. Ill definitely be back with future framing projects.

We had several things framed and were amazed that it was going to be cheaper than Michaels (we compared on each item), and we got personal service and top-quality work right in our neighborhood. The stores stuffed full of everything you could possibly need, plus some stuff you didnt know you needed until you found out it existed. Better, used supplies are there with new supplies, all at very good prices, so your dollars go farther. Great store!

Staff bend over backward to get your obscure art supply needs met. I explained I needed something for photography backdrops. The guy went in the back and pulled out these huge rolls of paper jammed in the storage area, carefully wrapped them in paper and they only changed me five bucks.

This is a GREAT store! Tons of art supplies of all kinds, I never know what Im going to find here - graphite pencils glow in the dark fabric paint for airbrush, wonderful paper selection and paints, GREAT prices. I LOVE this store and would spend a fortune here if only I had it. And the people are very nice and helpfui, obviously know their stuff and like their jobs.

The only place Ill get my paints and inks from, awesome deals and so many options. All the types of paper varieties are fantastic too.

Great store, friendly and extremely helpful staff. Bought a batch of screen printing medium online from another supplier and it had gone bad. The staff at Ive Been Framed rescued me with a ready supply of materials that I picked up for cheaper than I could get online. Amazing.

I called them about selling some high end art supplies they said yes they were interested and then. When we got there all of the sudden she was over budget so I said well what about for in store. Credit and they very rudely said nope. Now I understand businesses have budgets but dont tell potential customers to come in and bring their stuff then not even look at it when they arrive.

Great prices and variety of both new and used art and framing supplies! This is by far my favorite art supply store. They have just as much variety as the larger stores like Blick, but much better prices and a super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. On more than one occasion they have been able to help me find just what I needed for a variety of different projects from oil painting to sketching to mixed media work. They even have a sizeable kids section. They also buy used supplies for store credit (or cash on certain days) which is great when you always want to try something new like me! I truly cant say enough great things about this place or the staff here, they even play good music while you shop! Best place for art and framing in Portland for years, go check it out.

Ive been coming to Ive Been Framed since 1995 and I get treated exactly the same by staff every single visit: like an old friend! This store helped me get affordable art supplies and framing when I was a young starving artist and even after moving away, I always come in to shop the great deals every time I return to Portland. Seriously, this is a true gem for artists and a PDX institution.

I love coming here and supporting a local shop. They’ve been around for a long time and it reminds me of pre-Portlandia Portland. They have art & craft supplies for children as well as professional artists. The frame shop has done several pieces for us. The prices are reasonable and the walls are so much fun to read.
