Amazing experience! Tyler and Jake both have amazing personalities. Both excellent in their job. Even with Jake working in the Mazda building was still able to meet me and my families needs. In getting a bigger vehicle. Tyler was absolutely amazing at being able to meet my standards regarding payments. This is my second time with the dealership and now have purchase another vehicle. I was referred to Central Auto Group by several colleagues and friends while I was in the process of searching for a new vehicle. I heard nothing but good things so I decided to head to the dealer to see what was available. Upon my arrival, I was immediately greeted by a friendly sales person, Chris. After going through several different vehicles, I had finally found the one. Chris was very knowledgeable and attentive to all of my needs. I was offered more than I expected for my trade in and on top it, I received an additional discount on the new car! The negotiating process was non-existent! I was very impressed with how easy the entire process was. The financing went very smoothly and by the time I was done with my paperwork, my new car was out front ready for me to take home! Central Auto group was a dealership I took a gander at visiting after I had seen that I had been approved by a few lenders on cargurus but didn’t like my options in my price point.I went to the dealership on a whim and I am VERY glad I did. Originally my wife tried to tell me it would be a waste of time, and that I would just get my hopes up for something to go right. We’ve had a bad run these past few years and have done an immense amount of work on our credit etc.If you’re like me, just surviving from check to check and still want to have a vehicle from a reputable dealer GO HERE. My wife came with me to test drive a used car that came into the dealership as a trade in. It met all of the requirements we both had in a vehicle, and the guys from Central Auto Group really did their best to get us into it.The next day our sales guy Jake (ford) worked with the manager from Hyundai and the finance guy (also Hyundai) to get us into a BEAUTIFUL Honda Pilot.We now have a safe, reliable, and comfortable vehicle instead of the death trap we were nursing to its final days.Believe me, I’ve been where you are. BUYERS BEWARE!, just to start off I did not haggle price at all, paid asking price of vehicle without any questions as I support everyone getting paid and purchase from many dealerships without issues. Before reading my experience below I do understand business is business and everyone trying to make a dollar when they can however that does result in an accurate review of the other sides experience from this.new sales manager VW(Jim) out to impress owner. Put a deposit on a vehicle(500$) asked what could be done ahead of time to make smoother since out of state, advised I would be fly there for 9am to pickup vehicle or a loaner if it was not ready by then. They said okay sounds great.Arrived 9am, couldn’t test drive vehicle due to “detailing” even though nobody showed up until 9:30am(first clue to run), they wouldn’t allow me to purchase the car even though check was in the mail to them from lender with tracking and photos.No loaner cars available due to them being a C rated dealership. (second clue to run)Was told go rent a car from Enterprise for 100$ a day until they had the check in hand, did this(enterprise guy said good luck when I told them the dealership name, 3rd clue to run) and after holiday when check would arrive I called in to find out they sold the vehicle from under me!It gets better though, I now have a loan in my name for 25k with no check to return to lender AND have to wait for $500 deposit to clear back. Along with no vehicle for my wife and 2 kids for school. *golf clap*Would not trust them to hold even a beer never mind a vehicle for you! Run far far away from here.P.S. the sales guys on floor are actually great and really do put in a lot of effort. They deserve a much better dealership to do business with and I will gladly place you with better people. Shout out to TJ and Neal for going above and beyond despite upper management issues.
I have purchased a vehicle two years ago and came in to get service, i was greeted by a young man named Jake, he directed me to the correct area and I was waiting to get service done on my vehicle I wanted to take a glance at their used truck inventory, Jake took the iniative to provide me with details and was very pleasant and helpful as well as professional, we proceeded to look at vehicles and he executed a sale to my new truck, I commend this young man for his service and kudos to Jake ! I was very satisfied and would recommend anyone my friends and family to go to this dealership for their outstanding customer service!

My only regret was not going to Central Auto Group sooner. I tried 2 other dealerships in the area and it was a complete waste of time. Stressful experience that turned into a great experience. The whole car buying process is stressful in itself but I can honestly say Central Auto Group - Volkswagen made the experience a good one. The 1 hr drive was worth it because I ultimately purchased the car and payment that I wanted. Much appreciation and BIG THANKS to Dustin Brown and Jim Sidman. When I was agitated in the beginning they kept me calm...eventhough I didnt look like it on the outside lol🤦🏽♀️. Excellent Car Buying Experience!I have to say, this was one of the easiest, stress free experiences we have had when trying to purchase or lease a vehicle. This is our first VW purchase as well, and probably wont be our last. We stopped in to see what they had on their lot, that would compare to other makes we were considering. We settled on Leasing a VW ID.4....which is our first Electric Vehicle. WOW, it is a fantastic car! This is a vehicle we never even considered.Neil Dickerman was so knowledgeable, and answered our many questions. We never felt pressured. Going to a Dealership is NEVER my favorite thing to do...but the process was so easy.Peter the Finance Manager, made that part of that process very easy too...he had all the paperwork completed when we returned the next day, and answered all our questions regarding the finance.Jim, the manager was awesome as well...the 3 worked as a team, to get the payment/terms we desired.If in reading my review, you are on the fence about going to this dealership, do not hesitate!! You wont be disappointed. I read a couple negative reviews regarding this dealership in the google reviews, but I would not believe anything they have said about their experiences. Sounds like sour grapes to me....We definitely will do future business with Central Auto Group in Plainfield, CT!!Additionally, I would like to give an Honorable mention to Rick Mahoney, at the Hyundai Dealership there....we had also spoken to him regarding some Hyundai models...he was great too...very helpful and no pressure.

Central Auto did not pay off the loan on the vehicle I traded in two months ago. They have not completed the repairs on the vehicle I purchased. I called them to find out what was going on with the loan repayment and had to keep calling. I wrote an e-mail to the owner, David Cartwright and cursed twice, once referring to myself. The owned called me and told me that I shouldnt send an e-mail using profanities because I am a lady and it is not lady like. Would that have been said to a man?
This will be the 2nd car I have leased from Central and I cant say enough positive things about our experience there. Daniel at central auto group helped me buy my first brand new car. I was undecided but after test driving a couple vehicles I found the one I wanted. The next day I drove off the lot in my 2022 Hyundai Kona. If I ever need a new car I would 100% go back to Central Auto Group and sit down at Daniel’s desk immediately.

Purchased a vehicle at Central Hyundai and was, overall, very satisfied with the the puchase process. There was no sales pressure and the paperwork process was made very convenient by the salesman, Carlos.
I came in for a service appointment as a new customer and was treated well & staff interacted with me well.
Please do NOT go to this dealership. All they care about is selling you the car. Once the car is sold, forget about trying to get in touch with anyone from any of the departments, including finance. Just got off the phone with a gentleman from the office and he absolutely refused to pass a message to the financing office because “they are too busy”. I then asked why can they not take 5 minutes out of their day to contact a customer, and was given the response “because they’re busy”. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone unless you are there to buy a car and don’t plan on contacting the dealership at ANY later time. Purchased a brand new car from them early this year and everything went smoothly, however, trying to reach them afterwards has been a nightmare. They agreed to make the last payment on my lease, waited until it was 60 days past due, and then I had to contact them for the payment. This should have been taken care of from the start. On top of this, I accidentally misplaced a letter they wrote me for the credit bureau (which I fought tooth and nail for) and now I can’t get in touch with anyone useful to get a new letter. I had spoken to the GM in order to get the letter written, which I shouldn’t have had to do in the first place. I’m just being told to come in and ask for another printing of the letter, but in the same breath was told that they aren’t available the majority of the week. This left me wondering, what if I go in and nobody is available? The rep I spoke to didn’t care that this was an urgent concern and talked down to me to “get me to understand”. Absolutely ridiculous, everyone at this dealership is a joke and I will NEVER do business here again, and I strongly urge nobody else that I know to either.
Just purchased a 2021 VW Atlas! I was dreading having to deal with a dealership and a car salesman! Ugh! I was PLEASANTLY surprised and grateful for interaction with DUSTIN BROWN at Central Auto Group! What a great young man....with an extensive knowledge of ALL cars! Asks the right questions to find the right car. NO PRESSURE SALES!!!! When he and Sales Manager Brandon suggested a higher model - and I said out of my price range - they backed off!! Poor service! They were no help when the Hyundai I bought from them less than 2 years ago died, leaving me with a $19,000 loan and no vehicle. I would go anywhere for a car but here.

The owner of Central personally reached out to me to offer me a car to drive while my car is being worked on for an extended amount of time. He was understanding of my personal concerns and offered to help, giving me various options. When I bought my car from Central in 2014 the salesperson whom I worked with was very helpful and personable and even made time in his schedule to meet up with me to deliver my new plates. I’m glad to see that even a large business like Central cares about their customers and wants to go the extra mile to help them.

We bought a White 2019 VW GTI not too long ago and the process was fairly easy. They were flexible and honest with us. We worked with the salesman Dustin who was professional but quite a talker, and his manager Mike who was also professional and reasonable with negotiations. The car was everything they said it was and came in good condition. I would say that their receptionists can be forgetful and they couldve washed the car better, but otherwise a very good buying experience.

I had a great experience when I recently purchased a used car at Central Auto. The salesman, Jim Theriault, worked with me to get a great deal on the Mazda I wanted. As an Elite Mazda professional and fellow Mazda owner, he also provided some great tips and honest insight on the features of the car. The manager, Jeff Wilson, was also instrumental in ensuring the vehicle had all of my service requests completed prior to me picking it up.Peter in the financing department did an amazing job shopping around my credit and getting me a rock-bottom APR that I didnt think was possible. A very nice guy, and a true professional.I did bring the vehicle in a couple weeks later to have the brakes and rotors inspected/serviced, and the process was seamless. The people in the service department are friendly and helpful. Jeff Wilson recognized me, and again made sure that all of the service was taken care of and covered accordingly.

Because we had to do a 70 mile round trip twice for service on our 2015 GOLF (4th new one purchased in 20 years) and due to retirement not purchasing a new car again from SCOTT VW in East Providence we decided save the trips and try CENTRAL AUTO GROUPs VW Service Dept.So Far So Good, first time. Only an Oil & Multiple Filters change as directed by me. Well see what happens if there is a real issue. Then I will get top compare them to SCOTT VW SERVICE which has been excellent for that 20 years and reasonably priced.
Great sales staff . Very helpful. Information on 2020 cars great BUT the after sales help was terrible. We had an issue with Hyundai Finance. They were given the wrong address, so, we never received any payment information. All the finance department would do was give us a number to call. After the sale, your on your own. Good luck dealing with Hyundai finance
I’m a first time car buyer and I needed a new car, I was met with kind and friendly staff who were very understanding of my situation. Neil White was exceptional not only in his work but being able to help me decide what to do. He was able to get me approved for a car loan when no other car dealership was willing to take the risk as a first time buyer. Peter and Neil made me feel like I was welcome and didn’t feel like I was just a customer. They even went as far to help me try to find lower insurances rates on my car. Bought 2 cars from here. They were able to get me those vehicles brand new with very little down. High interest because of my credit. They did what exactly they advertised and very professionally. Sales associates change like clothes. Theres a few that have stayed and gained quite a lot of clientele. All in all a good place to get a new car.

My story starts nearly 2 yrs ago. (Yes, 2 yrs) I bought a used car from another dealership, and the engine went the first day. Had it fix through warranty and it still wasnt repaired right. I went through 4 loaner cars, 3 or 4 rentals and still my car wasnt correct. Then the engine seized, again. Finally, the dealership sent it to Central (I had a Mazda at the time). Wally in service did EVERYTHING he and his service crew could do, dealt with the warranty company for months, kept me updated, felt the same discouragement I had been feeling the whole time. Warranty wouldnt cover all of it. I still owed a few grand. My Mazda had become the talk of the town! Im sure all of SECT knows of it by now! LMAO! Finally Mr. Cartright had heard of my story and said weve gotta help this lady. They got me into a 2019 Hyundai and got me all situated with a loan, and by the end of the week I had a new car, awesome warranty and amazing gas mileage . The whole team at Central hung in for the long haul with me, did the best they could, and helped to get me to where I needed to be. You guys are amazing and you will be forever part of my Crazy Car Story. Thanks you guys!!
I initially had some communication issues with the dealership regarding my new car which were addressed this morning by the general manager. Im glad to see how seriously they take customer feedback and can appreciate that.
Finding out now that my car was registered in the wrong town... and this was AFTER waiting 7 weeks for them to register my car in the first place.Did I also mention that they gave me an out the door price via email and upped the price (by throwing on a fee) when I drove out of my way to visit them in person?Only reason Im giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they had the exact car I wanted.
Excellent customer service, and fast, repairs done right! Only four stars because of sky high cost for parts and labor. If you have the money and need your car fixed fast, this is the place to go.
Went in with a few specific must haves and Colby helped me through the entire process for several hours until I found the perfect car. He was not pushy at all and listened to exactly what I wanted. I’m so happy with my new Ford Escape. Wasn’t expecting much when I went in, but the team worked with me to get me a great price at a price I could live with.

Just when I finally got my credit back up to good place I traded in my car with Central Auto and purchased a new one. However, even after contacting them multiple times, they failed to actually pay off the old car for almost month causing me to acquire a late payment which dropped my credit score almost 70 points. Be cautious when trading in a vehicle that your still making payments on.
Central auto has done a great job helping not only myself, but my fiance, my mother, and my sister (twice) find a great deal on vehicles. All my experiences there have been pleasant, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere welcoming. They were up front and honest with me, and were the first dealership to actually work with me to get me the price I needed on my new car. I would definitely recommend this dealership!

I had a great experience. Brian was my sales associate. I was able to take my car home for 3 days to see if it was right for me. There was no pressure to buy . the finance and service department were very friendly. They were willing to negotiate. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this dealership and especially Brian. I purchased a 2013 ford explorer limited at a very competitive price.
Our family has bought several cars at Central. We have all received excellent service from when we walked in the door to when we walk out. The entire staff starting right at the top is outstanding. Our salesman is always Alex Nieves and I cant say enough good things about Alex he is fair and easy to work with. Never any pressure I tell them what I can do and they have matched me up EVERY TIME. We spent a good part of Saturday on the phone, working out the bugs...He was professional, apologetic for others shortcomings, and owned things for the Dealership...A real stand-up guy....Hopefully others will learn from his lead....In addition, he gave me his personal cell number for any future questions, concerns, or of course business...I feel so much more confident in his ability, that I feel comfortable recommending him directly....I know he will see to it that things will be corrected moving forward....Thanks JeffService department as always is top notch.. Just got back from my oil change. Had an issue with my radio, it wouldnt turn on at all. Brought my car in and had the guys run a diagnostic and they determined it was an easy fix. I get back hoping I wont need to pay a small fortune and praying it wasnt a serious issue only to find that it was a simple fix and I wasnt charged a dime!! I have bought my last 4 cars from Central Auto Group. I have to say that I will never shop anywhere else. The service at Central is always exceptional. The staff at Central is extremely helpful. Both Tyler and Rick were very friendly and agreeable during the car buying process.
My experience with Central Auto Group was phenomenal! I phoned them before I dropped in to look at a new Ford Escape. Alyssa was my initial contact person. She was polite, cheerful and helpful. Upon my arrival she came out to greet me and immediately found a product specialist to help me. I met Matt James. From the very start of my experience, he was wonderful. Very knowledgeable of the car I wanted. He was helpful, accommodating, and eager to please without any pressure. My test drive was not only fun, but very enlightening. Within 2 hours he had me driving away with a brand new 2017 Escape, with the deal I was hoping for. The GM Filippe was a joy to meet. Everyone at Central Auto Group was very personable, knowledgeable, friendly and seemed to love their job. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Thank you, I love my new Escape.
I have been here a handful of times for routine service and they are always friendly and quick. Our latest visit we were told that if we needed service and couldnt make the drive up (we recently moved) that they would be happy to send someone to pick up our car!
Great customer service in the Service Department. I always have a great experience when getting my car serviced which keeps me going back for my regular maintenance checks! They are always willing to answer any questions or check on something if you feel like the car is jot running properly.I have bought 2 cars from their sales department and have had no issues and walked away with a great vehicle that I truely loved and did not just have to settle for any car. If you know you want a certain style, make or model. They will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase!
I only do business with central best dealership in the area. I have told my whole family and friends and I am pretty sure that you will be getting their business. Tyler is the only one I dealership with and my youngest son as well because we trust him.
Every aspect of my dealing with Brian and Mike was exceptional. Brian picked me up at work along with a Guinea pig I was delivering to someone else in the area of the dealership, and they were exceptional in service in every way. They even helped occupy my 7 year old while we were waiting! Great service all around, and gave me an amazing deal!

I have a Hyundai Sonata. I like the car - got it two years ago when Hyundai was throwing some monster rebates against loaded, loaded Sonatas. In the 2 years since I have owned it, 40K miles have rolled under the tires. In that time, the cars been serviced at several places. The professional attitude mixed with genuine friendliness at Central is greatly appreciated. Its a quirky car: spider webs have twice blocked the A/C drain, making a small creek of the passenger footwell, another time, some malfunctioning part limited me to 62 mph in the rain. Through it all, the nice folk at the service dept. have gotten me back on the road when they said they would. Only a single negative: one time when I needed a loaner car they said there was a three week wait for them.

I actually had to purchase a vehicle from. My place of employment. I have always loved Fords so that part was easy. I needed things in the vehicle to make it comfortable for my family member. Filippo and Mr Cartwright himself went over and above for me. My thanks to them both is overwhelming. Not only do I feel like part of the sales family but a customer for life. Probably the easiest car buying experience Ive ever had. The ladies and gentlemen of Central Auto Group were incredibly personable. It was wonderful not being handled or sold on everything; instead they listened to my wants bent over backwards to get me what I wanted, and ensured it was all at the best possible price.
Ended up purchasing a new Mazda at Central Auto, which for the most part is a typical car dealership (yeah, you know what I mean...radio ads and all). However Im rating this place 5 stars because of the sales associate Brian P. He was super helpful, not at all pushy, and patient. He threw a plate on car after car so I could narrow down my search. It was convenient that I was able to cross-shop Mazda, VW, Hyundai, and Ford here too. Ultimately decided on a new Mazda off the lot for a very fair price. Overall (mainly thanks to Brian) it was a positive car-buying experience.

Place was great! Bought car there today. Look I am a review reader. I go over my stuff before my decisions are made. The place is real. Read the disclaimers on web site but they do everything they say they will do! There were 3 customers in the store buying Cars with at the same time with me and my wife today and we all conversed. The employees are genuine, they are aggressive in trying to earn your business but they will do what they can to make you happy. I dealt with rick M and Pillippo the big boss of the store. There were other people also dealt with but thank you for beating the deal we had from the biggest dealer and thank you for great experience today. Can’t wait to show all my friends our new car from Central!
Tyler was awesome. Not only did he listen to our story and complaints but he empathized and put his words into action. They went out of their way to accommodate our short timing and offered to drive the necessary parts to us. Sometimes you have a bad day but how you react shows true resilience and respect. Tyler exceeded our expectations and earned back his reputation. Thank you so much.On the phone we were promised a great deal. After sending in loads of personal information so they could get paperwork going we were told to meet at 9:30am. They don’t open until 11am. No one was there, our sale guy shows up and nothing has been done despite all the information gathered. Then after waiting 3 hours the finance people were incredibly rude when we tried to leave. Using terribly demoralizing sales tactics and very little communication they brought us in, not honoring any part of any deal they had quoted us. Upon returning home with the car we walk to the back and it has a giant scratch on it. No one has gotten back to us about that, of course. Please do not go here. Do not do business with these people. They are sloppy and rude and will say anything to make a sale. This was for a Mazda.
They lured me in with a special promotion but it had a catch be very very careful if you go here make sure you read all the fine print before you go they said I could get $5,000 on my used to be achill but that was if I was a military member who is a recent college grad and was turning in a Hyundai it was a total farce. I wasted an entire day at this dealership playing games with them going back and forth with them making me wait there extended periods of time and then I never walked out with a car I would stay away
Tried to get me into sign into a less on the spot, hard sell. Found out the next day I could get the same car, same leases in Putnum about 200.00 a month cheaper. Guess who got my business. Putnum Dodge.
