Ive used them many times before. And recently they noted that they could not fix the specific damage to my car, but recommended someone who could. Good honest business. They easily could have charged me for an inspection or diagnostics, but they didnt .

Ive taken my cars to 59 auto repair for about 8 yrs. Since day one all employees have been very pleasant, and attentive to what is needed. And no mistakes have ever been made. I have only trusted them for my car repairs! I highly recommend this place! Once you deal with them for the first time I promise you, you will not trust anyone else for your car care.

As luck would have it, we had a breakdown right by 59 Auto Repair. Once we got the car off the road, we walked in and explained the situation.They had us leave the car and promised a thorough diagnostic of the car the next morning.The diagnostic report was comprehensive and accurate to what we thought were the issues.We authorized the work and they completed it as promised.The staff was great every step of the way.

Business practice is shady. Daughter car was towed to this shop for repair in November for a fuel pump issue. After completing the repairs which was under a aftermarket warranty with a $250 deductible. But invoice paid out of pocket was $575 dollars. No additional work was performed besides warranty work so balance should only be $250. Invoice was paid total $575. The car engine light came on and the car was returned to same shop thinking the issues was related but the diagnosis was different so another claim for to warranty company. Another $250 deductible which is fine. But the shop add charges to labor saying warranty company won’t authorize additional labor and want us to pay for them taking longer to diagnose problem ( that’s not the consumer problem) in addition to extra labor charges on warranty parts and labor there is a charge for shop fees which are not itemized. Upon questioning staff I was given explanation that charges are for items used in shop like towels, wire ties, adhesives etc. Shop expense was charged on First invoice for $49.95 and second invoice for around $21 and change. Rt 59 auto is stating this is there standard business practice but does not itemize what shop expense cover. And extra labor for diagnostics should be covered by consumer because shop says warranty company won’t pay. Shop says someone has to pay even if I have a warranty. Please BEWARE THESE ARE SHADY PRACTICES CHALLENGE ANY CHARGES NOT ITEMIZES ON INVOICE.

This was the 2nd time Ive brought my truck to 59 Auto Repair. Both instances were warranted issues and 59 Auto Repair was great. Jim worked closely with me and the warranty company and kept me informed every step of the way. They explained all of the work needed in an easy to understand way and never once pushed work on me.

Brought my vehicle in for no air conditioning, only blowing out hot air. Turned out the problem causing the lack of AC was still covered by my car’s warranty. They could have just given me an estimate and offered to repair, instead they told me about the warranty coverage and sent me back to the dealership. Very honest and ethical business, will be back.

This was BY FAR the best auto experience Ive ever had. The team at 59 Auto identified the problem I was having with my engine, took photographs, drafted up a report and sent me update emails on the status of my vehicle. Then then called before starting repairs to explain what happened, what caused it, and what needs to be done to fix. The price they quoted was more than fair and it was done the next day. On top of the turn around time, everyone I spoke with was honest, and genuinely cared about what they do. One of the best customer service experiences Ive had to date.

My car now drives better than brand new off the lot! The work done will make the car go for many more years.

The technician called quickly to let me know what was going on with my car, they also emailed me to let me know. They didnt over charge me AT ALL. It was so reasonable. After my service I received an email with a thorough listing of everything that the technician inspected; whats good and what will need to be fixed or replaced soon. I definitely recommend 59 Auto. I was very satisfied. Car was repaired the same day I brought it in (on short notice too). I was given a ride home and then picked up to return for my car later that afternoon. Everyone I dealt with was courteous and knowledgeable . I liked that they were an AAA approved facility and that being an AAA member I got 10% off on the labor charges. Overall their prices were fair and I didnt feel like anyone was trying to oversell me.

I had a previous problem with a incident with 59 auto repair, but this time i took it back for some repair warranty service they have restored my faith in this shop. Not only did they repair it they also checked out the rest of the truck to let me know what potentially could break down on the future. I will go back for other services in the future.

I bought a Chevy express van that needed a lot of the routine maintenance done on it before i could use it for a road trip. Brakes, rotors, transmission lines, wheel bearing, the work was done exceptionally well, very friendly people who helped me understand everything and pricing for all the work was very reasonable. I have not had any issues regarding the work i had done here, they treated my baby well and i would highly recommend them to anyone.

I tried 59 Auto in Plainfield years ago and did not have a good experience then. Timing was just right for oil changes before winter on my two vehicles, and I received coupons for a discounted price. Perfect! I’ll give them another try. My car first and then I was going to bring in my wife’s car a day later. It’s just an oil change, how can it go wrong! If there is a need that should be addressed over and above the scheduled maintenance, I would certainty understand. When additional things are done without my consent, well, that’s a problem! To come out of the shop and say “we felt this part should be replaced so your bill is a little more” just rubbed me the wrong way. That’s not how I would do business! Even the little things matter! Needless to say, my wife’s car will not be going to 59 Auto! So my point is, BEWARE!That’s the (con). The (pro) is, they were courteous and apologetic when they realized they had made a mistake. It’s hard to right the wrong at this point! Even so, I do not care to return there for service.

I’ve been going to 59th Auto for many years and never had any complaints on any of the different cars I’ve taken them. Actually I’m not going to lie, I tried a different mechanic to save some money and they didn’t fix the car. After taking numerous times back and they couldn’t find the problem, I decided to take the car to 59th Auto and with no hesitation they were able to fix the problem the first time! I promise I will never go anywhere else 59th Auto because you have never let me down, thank you!

I went there recently with my Toyota because it had some oil leaks. The mechanics were very informative and they told me straight up that they can fix major leak for now but to fix other leaks and get to the engine would take up to 10 hours so getting another engine would probably be similar in cost and with 260K miles under its belt they suggested I may have to start looking for another car and keep an eye on the small leaks until then. I love their honesty. Others would push to make good money as it happened before but these guys tell it like it is. I will be back there with my next car for sure.

Been coming here for many years, and have to say Ive never had a bad experience. Sure, been unhappy to have to put money into the vehicles Ive owned, but thats a part of life. Have had several situations where I easily couldve been charged more to have work done, but was advised to hold off. If all they wanted was my money, why would they do that?? A few days ago, needed a new water pump installed. Couldnt remember that I had it replaced many years ago. Dave explained it would be replaced at no charge (excluding labor) since they had done it way back when. I would never have remembered this and easily would ve been charged for it somewhere else. Again, integrity keeps customers. Great business!

They returned my car in worse condition. I was told the mechanic said it still sounded bad but they returned my car to me anyway. Spent thousands there only to be treated as a joke. I would not recommend this repair shop to my worst enemy! After fixing my car I was told they didn’t know what was wrong with it! Avoid this repair shop at all costs!They offered to test drive it! That is something that should have been done before giving it back to me! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this shop! Owner treats people as a complete joke! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

I have been using Route 59 for about 10 years. Up to this point the service has been good. This last experience was poor. I made an appointment for 9am Monday morning to have rear brakes done. Rear brakes. With an appointment, it is not unreasonable to think the car should have been finished by the end of the day. We received no call until noon Tuesday about the status of the car, and it wasnt finished until 6pm Tuesday. The problem is getting all of the logistics adjusted around not having a car for 2 full working days. On top of the poor, slow service, the older grey haired man at the counter, who apparently parks his expensive Harley right next to the front door, was at best apathetic when I addressed this issue, and instead told me I would have to wait because his computers were down (they came back up fast as I continued to complain; imagine that) and couldnt even be bothered to offer an empty apology for the inconvenience or a thank you. Business must be good. I guess you dont need mine anymore.

I was not going to wright a review until i read the others. haha i find this funny. everyone says the work is perfect and on point.... from what i can see after spending THOUSANDS of dollars here over 5 years and two cars this is true. but then people are freaking out about the price. yes. i have noticed i have gotten a SLIGHTLY cheaper quote elsewhere....but think about it like this. your car is one of the biggest expenses in your life right under a house and your children. why let some scrub fix it for 100 or 200 bucks cheaper and mess everything up when you could come here. pay a little more but KNOW FOR A FACT EVERYTHING IS GOING TO WORK AS IT SHOULD! 5 YEARS OF ONLY EVER TAKING MY CAR TO THIS SHOP AND NEVER ONCE HAD A PROBLEM! Ive been driving a unsafe vehicle, that I would of fixed a HELL OF A LONG TIME AGO, but funds that my Judge said I couldnt spend/my attorney so I was put in immediate DANGER!! Therefore, made my vehicle so much worse!! They did give me a thorough ESTIMATE that was SPOT ON!! I appreciated their proffesionalism andopinions. Still havent made up my mind fixing it. Just know smiles and the respect I received EASED THE BLOW of amounts of work that needs to be done. Id RECCOMEND their ESTIMATEs to anyone!!

We have gone here for years and we have never had a complaint to make about the service, the quality of repair or the attitude of the people who work there. A locally owned business with the owners right there in the shop being accountable for the repair done on our car. I never consider going anywhere else!

VERY overpriced! $750 for a battery, hood latch adjustment, and a power steering reservoir (basically a bottle that holds power steering fluid). When I expressed my opinion that their quote was high, I even suggested that I could get the parts much cheaper and they didnt seem to care. That being said I needed the vehicle fixed and had the work done and they did a good job. Just wish I would have had time to do some more research.

Nice family but repairs too expensive. I was cleaning my glove box and came upon an invoice for repair at 59 AUTO REPAIR from seven years a go. Sorry my review is old but I was too sick to do that after repair. My car was misfiring on one of the cylinder so I went to them and they said I have to pay up front $100 dollars, which will be counted toward the repair, they needed to run computer test to see which cylinder was misfiring. I left the car because they were busy. After 2 hours they called me and said it is gonna cost me $380 to finish the job and they ask me to give them OK to proceed, and they said if I dont I will loose my initial deposit of $100. Upon pickup of the car I was amazed that only spark plug and the corresponding coil was changed for that outrageous price of $380 and I was hoping that it was the difficult cylinder in the back. Not it was an easy unobstructed cylinder in front- 15 minut labor job even for me, but they charged $186 labor plus $173 parts plus tax. Out of curiosity I called today to toyota dealer and they gave me an estimate for identical job only it would cost $200 with all the genuine parts, not aftermaket ones and remember this price is after 7 years. I had to pay 59 AUTO REPARS the balance with tears in my eyes. They wanted sweeten the deal farther and offered to do the same job for the rest of 5 cylinders foronly $590, which I declined. So imagine paying for six spark plugs and six ignition coils $970. My advice to you before going to them go to Autozone and test for free and they will tell you the codes and which cylinder is misfiring then call them and dealers for an estimate. Soon after I had this bad experience with 59 Auto REPAIR I went to NTB to change all 6 spark plugs (including the one they changed) and paid only $150 labor with my own plugs and they even did not remove the plenum, only get to back plugs by removing wiper mechanism. 59 AUTO REPAIR in Plainfield lost me forever as a customer and since then I change 8 spark plugs in my SUV myself in only about 2 hours. Bingo! at that time they advertised that they treat all their customers as family members! sorry I do not want to be in this family. I will put their invoice in frame and laugh every time I look at it. Buy genuine coils from online dealers for 1/4 of the price you pay at 59 Auto Repair for aftermarket part! and go to mechanics which are willing to install your own parts!

After going there to get my oil change, I had one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I took my car to get an oil change, and the guy told me that it would be about 45 minutes till it was done. I told him that I would leave my car and come back to pick it up. I came back about 2 and half hours later to find that my car had not even been started yet. The guy thought it would be okay to do other cars first because I left and was coming back, and now I could wait 45 minutes until it was done. I dont know who in their right mind would think this is okay, but this was incredibly poor customer service. I definitely left, and got my oil change at Tuffy, in which they did a great job and gave great customer service.
