Long time family business that grows their own plants. I got a gorgeous white iceberg rose plant there and when I took it home my husband was so impressed with it we went back the next day and got another one.They grow plants that can handle the hot dry climate we have here.Huge inventory. Not like the big chain stores that sell over fertilized plants that die on you.

I really wish I could give this place 5 stars. Its beautiful and the selection of plants is amazing. I left my cart of plants near the register to go look at some others near by, and while I was away from it the employees had crossed out all the prices on the buckets and changed one from $50 to $49.99 and made the others all more expensive. When I came back and said something they gave me a bunch of different excuses like how they reuse plant bucket and cant be bothered to adjust the price while doing that or how it would take forever to correct every miss priced plant pot and how different shipments were different prices.. None of the excuses made sense to me. One of the employees argued with me about the pricing, he was an older gentleman that I was told was incharge of all pricing, while the others stood by watching. They refused to honor the initial price on the plants I wanted to get. After paying I asked for more plastic for my car and the quiet employees made jokes under their breath loud enough for me to hear and be extremely uncomfortable. Ive gone to this nursery a hand full of times prior and never had an issue, but I had also never left my plant cart by the register unattended either. I felt super taken advantage of and it seems really unfair to change a clearly marked price at the register.

The one in Gilbert is a 5 star! Theyre amazing with a great selection and fantastic service. The one in Phoenix is over run with pests that have their plants looking worse than rescue plants from Walmart. Also not the best service.

Whitfill Nurseries had cactus species that I have not seen in other nurseries. We met their salesman at the Phoenix Home Show and that is how we got to go to their nursery. They are the to go place if you want good specimens in cactus or even in regular trees and shrubs. They will discount prices if you ask and if you do buy. Very pleasant folks to deal with.

Hugo and Daniel are the most knowledge people ever. My trees are flourishing and my yard is beautiful. I cant praise them enough. I highly, highly recommend Whitfield on Southern Ave.

Very nice selection of plants but beware of items that aren’t priced. Asked one guy the price of a hanging pothos, he said $25. Then they rang me up and charged me $10 additional from what I was told and refused to honor the price the guy had initially told me. There is zero communication between the staff and it seems they just make whatever price they want. I have used this nursery for several purchases in the past, but feel I want the prices to be fair and the same for everybody!

Absolute best experience at a nursery. Prices are marked and staff there are honest. We almost purchased a very large Indian Laurel tree from Moon Valley, but after going to Whitfill, we soon realized we were almost taken by the Moon Valley salesman.We left Whitfill with a bigger tree at 1/2 the cost.

Place is awesome! From basic plants to pre groomed trees and bushes. Tons to chose from. Bought our first 6 plants for our house. Well definitely be back for more.

Needed a tree to replace our dead Ash tree. Stopped in this past Saturday. Was waited on immediately. Talked about what we wanted in a tree including height and width. We were shown several trees. We choose a 36 mastic tree. We like that the worker knew his trees and told us the mastic tree is both frost and heat/drought tolerant. The worker showed us a perfect single trunk mastic tree that we purchased.The is scheduled to be delivered and planted this weekend. I will update this review after the tree is planted.

Great selection of plants, love that theyre local especially in South Phoenix. Unfortunately, something that ALWAYS bugs me is that a lot of their stuff doesnt have prices on it. I went there today for one plant and they had plenty of them in different size pots, I got one that was smaller than the one marked 30$ when I got to the register the girl asked someone how much and he said 39$.. Not sure how he comes up with the prices but I just dont agree with being priced on a whim at the register. . Also they always have a SALE flag outside but things dont seem to be on sale?

Whitfill Nursery is the best. I had an awesome experience buying a date palm tree from Daniel Rodriguez at Whitfill Nursery. He found me an amazing tree and was able to give me a great deal on the price also. I did a lot of research and found that Whitfill had the best quality trees to offer than anyone else and at a better price. Daniel was very helpful answering all of my questions and they were able to plant the tree right away. The three installers (Hernan Ramirez Bernal, Giezy Ramirez, Cesar Menchu) were prompt and on time for the install and they definitely went way above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of for the install. I can’t say enough about how great all of these folks were. Thank you, everyone at Whitfill Nursery, for an amazing experience!

~$90 mission fig died within 3 years, didnt grow.~$90 Dorsett apple tree died within a few years.Both barely produced any fruit.Lowess $30 trees have been growing much better.Besides, Whitfill installed shrubs in the Glendale Planned Parenthood so counselors cannot easily inform girls of their options when theyre headed in to have abortions, so Whitfill is worth boycotting.

The only nursery we could find Ficus Nitada 7-8 columns available in the valley. We bought 37 columns. They were out two days later and had them planted in the matter of hours!! Plus, they have a one yr warrenty! They are already taking off and happy plants!!🤗

They have the selection (or better than) any other nursery Ive seen and incredible customer service every time I go here!It doesnt have the pushy sales driven feel of other places like moon valley but rather a laid back mom-n-pop feel that makes wandering around feel comfortable.

Much more expensive than other nurseries in the Valley.

Had everything we were looking for except mustard and turnip green seedlings.

Huge variety of healthy Phoenix roebelenii palms. I gave them 4 stars because the 2 gallon size were marked @ $35 in the yard, however up at checkout, I was told the couple that I saw @ that price were marked wrong, they should have been marked @ $50.

Found what we needed and all of the employees that we talked to were very kind and helpful.

The staff member who chose to assist me was very informative, she knew what I wanted from my very crude description.

We stopped here to pick up several plants but werent sure what we wanted. The staff was very knowledgeable and was able to help us out!

I absolutely love this place, the plants are in great shape, the art is amazing as well and the customer service goes above and beyond! I had a Monday appointment to get a tree planted, lost my head and swore it was Tuesday so I was unprepared and not home, nor did I put the flag where I wanted three, but they were so nice and said they would put the tree in the backyard and come back the next day to plant it! Went to nursery on Southern, on a Monday. Staff not very friendly, asked if we were looking for anything in particular. Pointed to area, and that was it. We strolled around for awhile. Went to check out, again said nothing but price of purchase. Another employee offered us a container for our plants and plastic for car. I wont come back to this location. Will go back to Phoenix location.As for nursery and selection of plants, no complaints except no prices on most plants and no one around to ask. Healthy, quality of plants to choose from.

I went to the facility on Southern Ave as it is close to my work. We had ordered some plants and trees from Gilbert location and wanted to add a couple of other shrubs. I went to the Southern location and after getting together with Joy Neumann, she had some suggestions on what would work best for our situation. Joy showed me some shrubs that I wasnt familiar with and the choice was perfect. She went above and beyond to make sure she coordinated with the Gilbert location. We ended buying two of the Photinia shrubs and we are so happy with the service and expertise shown to us by Joy. She was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone looking to purchase for their home or business.

If it was wrong entrance, they should at least have a arrow sign to the correct entrance thats nearest the sales counter. Instead of looking at me suspiciously. Dont appreciate that. 16th st & southern ave. Never going back. I regret going there. it was 6 min from my house. Worst nursery ever!

Amazing experience. All the staff I passed welcomed me with a friendly hello and asked if I needed anything.I thought it was nice that instead of telling me where something was, they stopped what they were doing, walked me over, and explained what they had in stock and what to look for in a healthy plants.There wasn’t any pressure when I asked for recommendations; they gave me different pricing options on soil and fertilizers. Recommend you talk to Bill!

Terrible service. They pick and choose who to give their attention to. I wasn’t even greeted but the people who came in after me got a big welcome and even offered a water.

Expensive. Wanted a fig tree, $150. Went to Arcadia Color Garden Nursery, previously Bakers plant nursery. $25 for a fig tree at Arcadia. Yahoo! Dont get me wrong Whitfills is a very large lovely plant nursery with all kinds of specialty plants.

We start with a Young white male super nice, and friendly he give us a good price in a few vines at the cashier, then a Hispanic male came after to charge us, he wanted to charge us more. He wasnt nice at all very unfrienly. For that reason Im never coming back to this place I rather going to home Depot for better prices.

I just revised my review from last year as Whitfill has changed for the better. Just went there a couple days ago and they had a good collection of vegetable garden plants and 40 lb bags of gypsum, both of which I complained about them not having last year. As usual they have an excellent selection of trees and shrubs, and I think most are locally grown. Thank you Brian and your people at this location who, by the way, were very cordial and helpful.

I always love I visiting Whitfill. I have been going to the nursery on Cooper since we moved here 5 years ago for everything from lantana to barrel cactus. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and my kids love visiting Bob the rooster, who lets you pet him. Some days Im not even sure what Im looking for but I always find it at Whitfill.

I was really impressed with my entire experience with Whitfill. They were suppose to make a delivery to my home on a Friday, they couldnt make it but they called and rescheduled for Monday. To make it up to me for the delayed delivery they gave me a couple of plants that I had been looking at, the plants were not damaged or near death they were in excellent condition and are thriving to this day. GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT SERVICE.

With no shortage of places to purchase softscape, Whitfill became our place of choice a couple of years ago when we were having issues controlling our watering at our Phoenix home. A discussion with one of their on-site experts, Bill Frazier, and we knew what needed to be done to get our watering under control. Two years later and our established plants are doing well and our watering bill was cut in half!!Today (21 Mar 19) we went back to Whitfill to get a new round of plants after redoing our backyard. Met with Bill again to learn which plants work best in our yard (Phoenix-level heat).Highly recommend this place for the knowledge of its staff and variety of healthy softscape items that can survive in the dry heat of Phoenix.

Beware...you cant trust this place...I got burned on an Arizona Ash tree. The tree was dead when I bought it at $150. It had witches broom around the trunk. It was obvious that I didnt know much about trees so it was easy to sell me anything....I told an older white guy with southern accent that sold me the tree on a Saturday morning...that I didnt know anything about trees and that I just wanted a good tree....He knew it was dead when he sold it to me...probably laughing as I drove off with my dead tree.

Favorite nursery.

This place at first glance incited a happy excitement.. We hopped out of the truck and ventured into the entrance. A few employees in blue shirts ignored us, some chatting together, others just standing around busy on their phones, totally ignoring us. We went walking through looking at first at the roses.. They were horrendous.. Blight?? I dont know.. I didnt even want to photograph them. the poor things were anguished. We went a few 100 yards further, and the unkempt conditions slapped us in the face. We couldnt believe the 1000s of plants that were perishing.. The entire Nursery Had Lost its Will to Live as obviously the Employees /Owner has too. I wish I had the will or way to fix things. :( I hope things turn around for This place. It sure could be a lovely place. Again.. You can see where it once Was.

Looking for a harder to find tropical plant, not only did they have it they had a decent selection, was helped by a very knowledgeable staffer there that was extremely patient and helpful with questions I had. Will definitely visit again and again
