My client only received a small portion of the gear we ordered from a well known online retailer. Que the production deadline panic.... Google lead me to Foto Forum and my phone call lead me to Bill. What a pleasant experience we ended up having. These guys had what we needed to get the job done. Exactly the kind of shop you hope to find in any major city but you cant always find these days. If youre in the Phoenix area, I would recommend supporting this local shop and their helpful and friendly staff.

Went to several other stores looking to be educated on a Sony7lll before I made the investment. Foto Forum staff answered my question and provided more information that helped make my decision. If youre in the market for camera equipment I strongly suggest you check these guys out. 5 🌟 for sure.

I only went here for my new job for finger printing but the store looks visually appealing. There are so many things involved with film and cameras that I didnt know existed. The staff is very nice and attentive towards your needs. I did see some real photo customers who were serviced with courteous profession. If I was into photography Id definitely hit this place up!

Had to write a review after the surprisingly AMAZING service I received at Foto Forum. My husband and I purchased a studio background stand from them by promaster and we are so happy with the purchase. Our studio sadly broke after a few weeks of use and they exchanged our gear for new gear immediately with no hassle or questioning. My husband and I typically buy most of our gear on Amazon, but after receiving this level of care from a local shop we will definitely be back for future purchases. Highly recommended! After speaking with Canon I was referred to a local authorized dealer to consider the rent to own program. I preferred the rent to own because well it’s more cost effective not because I absolutely need it. I am a former nbc journalist breaking out on my own and have been in the industry for 15 years now. Also served as a top comcam in the army for many. He rudely told me no one does that service here in town and you have to be a professional to use it. No I haven’t paid to use canons services, but rude to assume I’m not a professional. Jaded attitude that I’ve noticed among many professionals. I can’t imagine how they treat newer to photography folks. Canon provided me all of my equipment for years which is why I wanted to go through Canon’s program. However, I will not support a business within the industry that clearly from the reviews below that support my experience as well do not treat others in the industry kindly. I don’t care how “saturated” the photography/film industry is with people who want to be photographers I don’t support treating anyone in the industry that way.

Just called Foto Forum to ask if they did professional cleaning and calibration of lenses. The response I got: “you can clean and calibrate your own lens.” Really? I’m not stupid, just looking for someone with a little more expertise to help service a very expensive lens so that it’s done correctly. And you don’t do a service, be kind and refer elsewhere if possible. Basic customer service. I’ve purchased lenses from Foto Forum before and always prefer to support local business, but I’ll certainly think twice before taking my business here in the future.

Wonderful Photography shop with very knowledgeable employees. Bill helped me pick out the best lens for landscape on the budget I had, and provided both new and used options without being asked. He recommended a few little parts I might need to help maintain my camera and the lens, and then showed me how to put them together and use them. They will be getting my business again!

Went here last minute to pick up a new Canon 50m 1.4 Lens for myself and take a look at the case/backpack selection for a friend. They had tons to choose from and Sara was VERY informative and patient with us. We ended up picking up a UV filter after she showed us the difference between multiples. We finished 2 minutes after close and started heading out the door when I has realized I didnt pick up a lens case and Mike was kind enough to let us back in and to say the least, was very generous towards us and gave us a great deal! I was sent to this store for processing my fingerprint clearance card. Who wouldve guessed a photo store had that ability? Ive always used DPS.At this store an appointment is required to process an FCC. Compared to DPS you do not wait for your number to be called so service is much faster.Google maps will have you pass the store so be on the lookout for it. You can clearly see it from the street. There is parking and access for handicap. I didnt inquire about public bathrooms. Service was expedient, friendly and professional as all should be.On a personal note, I plan to return to purchase my camera for my photography hobby.

Im down here on vacation and I looked everywhere for a 75-300mm lens for my new Canon T7 and could not find anything anywhere. I finally found this place and not only did they have what I need, but they were very helpful and had a huge selection of all kinds of camera equipment. If I could offer NEGATIVE STARS I would do that and then some. I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Greg and asked a simple question dealing with fingerprints. He was EXTREMELY RUDE and didnt want to listen about my question he just put it off and told me to call fieldprint for a question that he could have answered. For this reason I would recommend for no one to go to this shop and avoid it like the plague. I really hope that the owner reads this review and takes care of this issue with their facility.

Initially bought a camera that ended up being defective but they made it right and I got to continue to use the camera until the replacement came in instead of being cameraless and waiting. Can’t say I’ve ever had that level of service buying things from Amazon or Best Buy. Will definitely come back in the future.

I couldnt disagree with the negative posters more. I started in photography as a hobby a year and a half ago. My first visit to Foto Forum was nothing short of spectacular. While I cant say that I have dealt much with Greg, I have dealt with Dave quite a bit. He has NEVER tried to oversell me on anything. I went looking for studio lights with no idea what to get. Dave could have sold me some ridiculously expensive equipment but was honest and straight forward with me and advised that all I needed at this point was a set of pro masters which ran me a couple hundred dollars.I have been to Foto Forum several times in the past 18 months now and the staff there are always polite and patient with me. They take time to listen to what I am trying to accomplish and lend their advice on photography techniques. They answer all of my questions and they never try to sell my things that I dont need.I am sorry to hear that some people have had negative experiences at Foto Forum but I have never experienced anything even remotely close to these types of stories. I will continue to shop at Foto Forum and spread the word about this store. I have received far more professional advice in a few visits to Foto Forum than I have ever gotten asking questions online to Photographers with God complexes.

Today was my first time in the store, the store is not as big as I imagined but what’s making me leave 5 stars and a review is the great customer service! I went in just to ask questions and look around and the staff was more than happy to help me. I usually don’t do business with places with bad customer service but now I know where I’m going to be going in from now on to get any supplies or helpful advice!

Great hometown photo store, since opening a community darkroom down the street we have been buying our chemistry and paper supplies from here. Always knowledgeable folks working there and happy to help us!

I had to get finger prints for an security clearance and they guided me through really quickly and while I was there I printed out some pictures on their machine - it was great since an employee (Greg) took time to walk me through the best settings and helped me choose the right size frame too. Glad to see this store is local! Great service

Dave and Randy sure do know how to treat me right! I always prefer to spend my hard earned money with these fellas! As a photographer branching out, and trying my hand at new things, new adventures, exploring more of my creative side, and doing more marketing, these guys have been there for me, and helped me every step of the way. Very honest, very caring, and without a doubt wont just sell you something to make a sell, they truly care if its something you truly need.

Have been in the store many times from buying rolled paper to buying large L glass lenses - always happy and helpful. Was there yesterday when another customer was giving the other salesman a bunch of crap about charging sales tax (which is law, BTW) and the salesman was composed and courteous in the face of ridiculousness. Have and will continue to recommend..

Although I only purchased a memory card case, they allowed me to look at several lenses, and even pulled a brand new flash out of the box for me to try out. I dont look like the average old dude with the photo vest, but I expect to be treated like everyone else at a camera shop, and thats what I got here. Id definitely shop there again.

So this was my first time in here and I was getting some fingerprinting done. It is a nice place and they have everything a photographer could need from any skill level. Staff was nice and personable. Overall a good experience.

Just called and asked for a standard audio recorder Zoom q2n. The rep had no idea what I was talking about. I let him know it was the makers of an audio dat recorder. Surprised the rep did not know what I was talking about. He was very rude on the phone. I’ll make sure not to shop here for my camera or video needs. Very arrogant about the way he talked. He talked down to me as a customer sad. I haven’t even stepped foot in the store.

Good place. They do have a lot to offer that online ordering cannot offer, like honest answers to questions, and know how to sell what you need, and not selling you services that you do not need. I was impressed that they offer to teach you how to clean your own sensor, which after only a few sensor cleanings, the lessons and supplies will more than pay for themselves.

If I could have place a 0 star I would have! I guess you have to be a professional to even walk in. I asked if they could open my battery compartment in my camera and the gentleman tried to open it once then said it would be between $100 - $140 just to look at it. He said even if he got the compartment open, the camera was shot because it might be corroded. I left feeling so discouraged, embarrassed and sad. I went to a batteries plus store thinking what-the-heck-do I have to lose. BATTERIES PLUS looked at my camera and took the time to treat me like a customer. He opened the compartment and even cleaned it and got it working...for FREE!!! I bought their batteries because I wanted to. I felt like I was a #1 customer...just like the good old days!

They have always been super helpful when I come in! Have purchased lenses, cameras, filters, and tripods from them!Never once have I been pushed into a sale. The associates have always taken the time to review my needs and budget. I just left Foto Forum. I was returning a set of pocket wizards, which didnt work for me. I told them about it and they helped me fix my problem and helped me correct my misuse of the equipment. I came here to get my fingerprints done for my fingerprint card. It was so fast I literally came in and then came out. The lady that scanned my finger prints was every nice. Easy peasy

We shot a beautiful new video for our YouTube Channel only to accidentally deleted the videos from our memory card. We ran down to foto forum who successfully recovered the photos and videos for only $30! We also signed up for a photography class while there. Thanks Michael, Bill & Randy. We are forever grateful!

I was a last minute customer coming from across town and the Foto Forum staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The service was fast and the price was outstanding. I am happy to confirm all the great reviews of Foto Forum are true! Im a total noob and yesterday was my first visit to any camera shop. The kind woman who helped me was very patient, answered all of my questions, triple-checked and found exactly what I was looking for, and, to top it all off, when I requested a remote shutter controller she advised me that I could simply download an app for my phone rather than purchase that item. Now I may be new to photography, but I wasnt born yesterday. I know its not often that youll find a small business offering practical advice when that advice could cost them a sale. I appreciate that very much! Im so glad I chose to go to Foto Forum and will make them the first place I check for gear whenever I need anything...:)

Grocery stores and the industry is very unpleasant as a whole. This is an industry that clearly does NOT care about their customers. Very passive aggressive in making people use the self check out. EXCUSE ME I dont work here. Never enough tellers. Lines even when there are hardly any people. Grocery shopping is not a fun experience and it seems like the stores and the industry again DOES NOT CARE. Also next to impossible to make a complaint on their corporate phone number and have to go on line. Clearly a lack human communication.

One thing is immediately made clear at Foto Forum: they are not a repair shop and will not even look at a camera not bought at their store. At first, such a policy seems understandable, but the manner in which it is conveyed: LEAVE IMMEDIATELY, does not. Just because I didnt buy a camera at Foto Forum doesnt mean I am not a customer. Youd think if a guy walks in at 5 oclock in the afternoon and is the only one in the store besides three associates shooting the breeze you might expect a little better treatment. I couldnt believe how rude the middle aged guy with the glasses was. Jeez!Yes, I am indignant. The only thing separating Foto Forum from cheap prices online is service. Ritz Camera down the street had no problem helping me out. In return, I was glad to give them my business, something I will never do at Foto Forum after dealing with a total jerk like I did today.

I just started back up on my old hobby of taking pictures, so made the trek from the west valley, just to look around, ended up talking to a nice gentleman by the name of Dave, who took his time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed. I ended up walking out with a wide angle lens, that fit my budget. I do plan on doing my shopping at this place.

I completely agree with the other negative posts here. Greg is extremely rude and confrontational with customers. When I asked if they price matched with online stores, he became extremely rude on the phone. When in the store, when I asked to see a lens, he said he would only show it to me if I COMMITTED to buying it! He was very condescending and rude. For some reason, he took the online competition completely personally. Just because I asked if they price matched, he assumed that I was not going to buy from their store. In fact the opposite was true! I needed to buy the lens that day for a trip, and I would have paid anything close to online prices! I would have been a paying customer if it was not for Gregs horrible attitude. You would think with the fierce online competition and the small store business model going extinct, he would treat their customers with the utmost customer service. But no! Greg takes the exact opposite approach. Greg has issues, and I am surprised he is still employed there, as I have read other negative reviews about him. He must be the worst kind of snob there is. I was happy to travel to Best Buy in Chandler where I bought the same lens for the same exact price they had at Foto Forum. Except Best Buy had a friendly sales associate! I can only conclude that this store will be out of business in the near future, just like the Ritz Camera store nearby. My guess is that the owner and employees are struggling, and they blame online stores for their failure. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Staff is friendly and well informed on their products. I purchased a new Tamron 24-70 G2 lens here and traded in my older Canon 24-70 L-series lens. They gave me a fair price on my old lens which meant a deep discount on the new lens. Having purchased camera gear at various camera stores around the Phoenix area, this shop is definitely the best. I wish I had come here sooner after having terrible experiences with the uninformed staff at Tempe Camera. On my last trip to Tempe Camera, a salesperson who didnt know the different between a Canon 24-105 F4L mark 1 and mark 2 just pulled out her phone and said, I dont know, lets google it. They also were not willing to give a fair price for my used gear. Thankfully, Foto Forum has been a refreshing experience for me. I plan to return and buy another new lens this week.

Every time that I go into this store I feel belittled. I watched the main operator call the 7D a mans camera while looking at the female attendant. The people who work here are so ignorant. Ive come to this store many times over the past 8 years and have never left happy.The other attendant tried showing me a Rokinon lens and couldnt figure out how to get it to fire.They talk like they know what they are talking about, but they are extremely ignorant and narrow minded.I will make the extra drive to Tempe Camera every time from now on. This place will never get a dollar from me.

Came in today told them that I was looking at lenses. We were completely ignored. At one point I was sitting on the ground looking into their cases and I was never acknowledged. I guess we somehow offended the guy when my Dad told him that he was interested in getting back into photography. We quietly walked out the door, there were three employees and not one of them said a word. I try very hard to support small businesses and it drove me crazy to have to go to a big box retailer when they had the lens I wanted sitting right in front of me. This was my first and last visit.

They do Az DPS fingerprint card applications at this location. Lots of great.photo equipment too!

This is my favorite store in AZ. The people know there product far beyond what the factory guy told them or what the brochures say. Not a lot of glitz, just what I need. I drive though Tempe 15 miles just to get there. Ive been using Nikon products for over 40 years and just bought my Df here.

I went in to the store. I had just driven past it and was curious. I am just about a month away from buying my camera and thought I would get some advise before making a large purchase. I stepped in and immediately was greeted which was great. the place has everything you could possibly need and when we started talking the guy was straight forward and was great. when I explained my situation and what I was looking for the salesman closed his books annd walked away. didnt say another word to me and let me leave without a notion of my existence. I will go somewhere else for help.
