They are open but make you go outside in the rain to drink anything that you order. This place is inhospitable to customers. They must hope you just walk in to buy a bottle and then leave as quickly as possible.

Hidden gem. Had fantastic cocktails at the bar! Wonderful experience. Also able to purchase special bitters in many flavors, glassware, small sized drink shakers. Just a great place to stop in for a drink before dinner and learn something whilst enjoying! We lived it and will be back!

Art in the Age is billed as a tasting room and a home bar supply store. The Philadelphia store has changed over the last decade, but continues to surprise with its experimental spirits-focus. It’s a mix of historical inspirations and new, unexpected flavor combinations. If you want to browse some cool, vintage home bar merch or sample some unique spirits, this is a great one-stop-shop for the home bartender or curious spirit enthusiast. The front of the store is chock full of bar supplies, while the back features a small bar and lots of spirits. Check out the intricately designed bottles and then get a tasting flight. My favorites were the Black Trumpet Blueberry Cordial and Chicory Root Vodka. They also offer educational workshops, tastings, and home mixology training. So, check it out if you find yourself in Philly and around Old City.

All the staffs are amazing, and delivery are almost always on time. If you are not home, the delivery person would call you and ask when you will be available, or in some case your items will be returned to the store and you can pick them up if you are nearby or they will attempt for another delivery. Also good alcohol!

I ordered a gift online for in store pickup and was so pleased with both the gift and pickup process. I received clear communication by email about the status of my order and notification that it was ready to pickup. When I went to the store a few days later I was able to walk right up to the register and they had my item wrapped nicely in a gift bag and waiting for me. It took less than a minute in the store to pick up my order. Thank you for this safe option!

Excellent experience! The ambience of the store is perfect from the smokey aroma inside to the meticulously crafted displays that look like art installations. The person who helped me knew exactly what I wanted even with my vague description of “I saw on your website that you have a rye whiskey that is creepy.” (It was the Graverobber whiskey, made with maple syrup from graveside maple trees). They were happy to gift wrap my purchase for me and carefully packaged some bottled cocktails to go (which happened to come with a free okie dokie doughnut that day!). I left wishing I could stay all day!

What a great business. Combination cocktail bar and barware shop. As far as the shop goes, they have everything from recipe books, glassware, mixing utensils, bottle openers, spirits from local distilleries, bitters, and much much more. I always find something of interest I want to take home with me upon visiting. I also love that at the bar they serve cocktails using spirits from local distilleries to support fellow small businesses. Very spoiled to have this in my neighborhood but a great spot to check out for visitors and Philly locals!! Love it.

Now that theyve added a bar and switched their emphasis to cocktails the establishment makes much more sense. To me, theyve been looking for a sustainable niche for quite some time, but now that theyve found their calling I can totally see the value there. Their drinks showcase bitters and additives but theyre great.

*Review of the bar only*: The staff was friendly save for one bartender who’s poor attitude was only surpassed by the drinks she mixed. Our party of 4 was served 3 cocktails while my wife waited over 10 minutes (yes, literally) for a tea blossom drink that was supposed to take 3-5. Adding insult to injury, the bartender never checked in visually, never let us know what was going on as she mixed drinks directly in front of us as the minutes kept ticking by. It got to the point where our whole party was laughing at the ridiculousness of the whole thing and eventually had to ask for the drink which she had placed on the bar matt, just out of reach. You know what’s classy for specialty drinks? Letting the guest decide on the nuances of taste, not creating a false sense of exclusively like a bouncer lording over the line at a club. Citrus garnishes go on the glass; the guest can decide whether to drop it in and change the flavor. A swizzle sometimes comes with a stick; the guest can agitate it more as she sees fit. I think a drinker who would patronize a spot like Art in the Age would be able to gauge how long tea should be steeped. Or you could simply say ‘wait till it opens’. Good god, how frustrating it was to drink at this spot last night. There’s an air of fanciness here that can be fun in some settings, but it has to be reflected in the quality of the drinks and the service. This was my first time here with friends who adore the place so I’m hoping it was an off night for Art in the Age.

Excellent selection of bitters and shrubs, including many samples! Plenty of great “gift” items like cocktail kits as well as functional items for home bars. Additionally, there is a great tasting bar in the back with local spirits. It was just $7 for a flight of three local whiskeys, and the pours were generous. Definitely a great deal!

A fantastic, and beautifully curated space greet you when entering Art in the Age. We stopped in here on a few last-minute errands during the holiday season. Sadly, though we found what we were looking for, we did it entirely on our own. No one greeted us, offered service, or suggestions, or said good bye. Were pleasant, friendly people, so we ended up offering hellos, and goodbyes, which were certainly returned, we just expected more of a brand that we had been impressed with prior that visit. Perhaps we arent the target customer, or service isnt the goal for the environment. Well adjust our expectations and move on.

The Warby Parker selection is the reason I keep coming back. As convenience as it is to order and sample online, I dont have the patience. I want to pick my glasses and order on the spot. I ended up with reading and sunglasses the last time. After they came in, I wanted the reading glasses adjusted and came back. They saw me in 5 minutes and I was out the door in 10. Worth a look.

Lovely staff, who are super knowledgable about their products. I purchased two pairs of Warby Parker glasses here. Neither fit upon receipt, so I came back to the store where I had one pair adjusted by the optometrist and returned the other without any issues. Great experience, and for the price and quality of service, Id definitely purchase again in the future.Only room for improvement would be larger range of narrow frames to fit smaller faces, and quicker processing and delivery.

While trying to locate Warby Parker showrooms in my area (Philly suburbs), I came across Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction. OK..so ANY place that has AITAOMR as their moniker, is going to be intriguing for me. So off we went in search of this store/gallery.Nestled on 3rd St. between Arch and Cherry, it is a bit of a curiosity--but in a great, great way! It was a bit confusing because you can miss it, but luckily the address is visible (116). Upon walking in, it is a spectacular, interesting, and beautiful shop. The wood is dark, which is warm and cozy...and the lighting is very subdued, which is another plus. The staff is incredibly amiable and...well, very nice and charming. Trust me on this. I am NOT a young hipster..and this place is very hipster and cool. Its just what I love about young people and makes me happy.I swear, I thought I was in Williamsburg, Brooklyn--even seeing that they sell the incredible Mast Brothers Chocolate warmed my heart. *NOTE* Chocolate lovers...you will love the amazing taste of the Mast Brothers varieties of chocolate AND this chocolate is great for baking--just saying!*...in fact, I fell in love with this place when I also spotted those violets candies!!Oh yeah..the Warby Parker showroom. So we ended up purchasing a pair of non-prescription sunglasses that we were able to take away with us. My s/o, a Frenchman, has been in search of frames for a long time. He likes the European style glasses and has yet to find any frames to his liking at malleyeglassesplaces and AITAOMR was perfect for him. He is going to get his prescription and return for regular glasses. The selection of eyeglasses frames isnt all that large, but what WP does have available is the best of the best...and the staff is extremely knowledgeable as well.So..for the rest of what this store/gallery has to offer was excellent and very interesting. Great totes...and I also spotted great and unusual t-shirts as well as other articles of clothing that I will be returning for when I do Christmas shopping for my sons. This is a great, great, great place to shop if you like boutiques and smaller shops rather than the chain stores at the mall.Truly an unusual and remarkable little treasure! I wish nothing but success for this store/gallery!Thank you for reading. I hope my review could help even just a bit and if you are in Philly..stop by, you will not be disappointed!

It looks to me like this business is trying to save a penny here, or a penny there. The caps for the last three bottles Ive acquired have fallen apart well before I was done with the bottle, and this last one has glue residue in the alcohol itself, making it $30 of undrinkable swill.I wont be purchasing again, and I urge everyone to avoid this seller. For all their talk, theyre corner cutters like everyone else.
