Scammer (homeless person) sitting outside the doors hitting people up for money. Management needs to enforce this on their own property. I already moved to the edge of the city to avoid this nonsense. Maybe I should just go outside the city, no more scammers, and no more suffocating masks for fully vaccinated people.
I work here but I can honestly say it is a great place to be. My coworkers and our guests are great people. It is a clean, warm and friendly environment. If you read this and you come shop be sure to get in my line at checkout. You will be treated like gold. Name tag will say Michael. Hope to see you all there!!! 😄
I like everything but the often rather high prices. Sale prices are good. Bakery goods, especially the nice variety of cookies, are tasty and reasonably priced. Deli salads are tasty. Staff are always pleasant, as is the physical environment. Very little in cat food and supplies.
The deals arent outstanding, but shouldnt be expected at a fancier market. Waft of pastries greets you as you enter - love that! - and also enjoy that they still bulk, which can be Eco friendly if you take advantage of this. Bathrooms available and a seating area as well to consume prepared and purchased groceries
Plenty of parking, clean restrooms, fresh coffee. Well lit isles that are clean and well stocked. A pleasant shopping trip.
I was so happy when fresh market opened. But I find them overpriced and their bakery..,,,well let’s say pastries look better than they taste. Breads such as the croissants are tasteless and doughy and not buttery and flaky the way they should be.Every time I go there I spend more money than I should be charged. Everything costs more and its not quality. Overall needs improvements.
I love the Fresh Market for their prepared salads, the fish market and their breads and desserts. They have a great selection of organic good for you stuffs!
The Fresh Market store in Chestnut Hill, Pa. is such an enjoyable experience. Store employees are always willing to help.Especially, John, the coffee guy! He’s always very friendly, courteous, and kind. Always ready to help, with a smile. Thanks John!
Nice selection of great healthy products, but very pricey.
High end shopping. A great deal of organic and vegan options. High quality products. Great meats and seafood.
I love this market it is literally the best market in chestnut hill. it’s small inside but don’t let that fool you they literally have almost anything you could need. it’s clean and I love the sushi bar always fresh. the fact there are plenty of organic options definitely makes them stand out now if only they had a baby section then I’d never have to go to Whole Foods again
I like The fresh market they have the best fresh steaks short ribs they meat is outstanding. They fruits and vegetables are at top notch whatever you buy in that store you should be very happy. Love it love it love it 👍👍👍☺️
I find everybody in the store is really nice except for people at the deli. They are very rude and lazy except for the guy who makes sushi he is a good worker I’ve had 2 incidents where there were no sandwiches out on the floor it was noon I asked if they can make a sandwich for me they told me they don’t do that. Then there was no mayo packets out on the floor so I asked the guy behind the counter if there is any mayo packets cause there was Anine on the floor and instead of going to get more to restock the basket he just tells me no and goes back to working. I had to bug him to grab jar of mayo from behind counter and put on my sandwich and he looked very annoyed.
This is the best grocery store in the area. It’s clean, well-decorated and has good quality food and nice staff. It’s higher end than the Acme, so more expensive, but also so much nicer.
Uninformed clerk ignored the $25 Meal discount ‼️ Another clerk showed her the QR code & how to apply discount❕ She ignored her advice🙃 After she was given the QR code, then I showed the uninformed clerk my receipt and my credit card, she still did not apply the discount🤔 She insisted that I bring all the items back into the store 👎🏻 I walked out (in the rain), got the 5 items from my car. She (the uninformed clerk) voided the items, rescanned the 5 items. Then she finally called a supervisor to help her with the transaction ❔I informed the clerk that Im not a new Fresh Market customer ❕ Finally, I asked her why did she insist that bring the items back into the store ❔ and why didnt she accept help by using the QR code offered❔ She replied, she didnt know..... I apologize. WOW Fresh Market ... You are better than THIS unprofessional customer service👎🏻
Every time I visit The Fresh Market it exceeds my expectations! The people that work their are pleasant and go above and beyond to make your visit a pleasant one! John helped me with a situation on an order and went above and beyond even bringing the order to my car in the snow. Thank you John and everyone at The Fresh Market. I am a customer for life. And the food selection is amazing!
The service here is excellent. The man at the meat counter was kind enough to tell us the weekly discounts and what days to get the best prices. We had no idea we could shop so affordably. There are regular discounts on everything from porterhouse steaks ($9.99 a pound) to lobster tails ($7.99 a piece)! The woman who checked us out was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back.
I usually love this store. But, I bought a meal kit and each piece of chicken was a different thickness making it a challenge to cook. I also got a small container of watermelon, which was as hard as rock and tasteless. Plus, the presliced Swiss cheese was so thick that I couldnt eat it. Hopefully my next trip will be better.
Seafood Dept has a variety of unique delicacies. The oak roasted salmon and fresh crab cakes are worth the trip. Stop by the Bakery too.
You can make your own peanut butter!
Great food market-- go here, buy the dark red sashimi tuna behind the fish counter, and buy some chopped pistachios at the nut center-- go home, dredge tuna in a little oil, soy, sugar and garlic. Then roll the coated tuna in the pistachio nuts. Fry in a little oil on all sides until pistachios are brown. Thin-slice the barely cooked tuna, serve it with salad greens or crackers or both, drizzled with new batch of same marinade but add lime juice and chopped scallions. Really do this...
Little bit pricey but still good place to find wherever you want
Great supermarket. With lots of options not available at other nearby markets.
Clean establishment, high quality food and fabulous service. As I was being checked out I ran into a problem and to my rescue, a young man named Jarett Scott...yes I asked for his name, I believe we should acknowledge those who put their heart into their work and that he did! This young man knows his job, he explained to me the source of the problem and corrected it. I was so impressed...Im thinking its time for a raise. I love this store even more now! I suggest if you have a problem, stop by Jaretts isle, trust me...he knows this place...well! Thank you Jarett!
Quality food and very friendly service, one exception tho, the cut melon bowl purchased before my last visit hadnt ripened enough....thats rare because usually they are perfectly sweet.
Great place,gotta go again!
So many specialty items and great selection! one of my favorite around town.
Excellent freshness in their vegetables.
Been coming here for years now and still love this place, great fresh sushi, fresh flowers, the bakery is awesome, also something new to try, great candy section, the fresh meats are so nice looking and taste great, cant say enough how awesome this place is!
Yes good sale prices, clean and beautiful store. Good variety, things you might not find in any of the other stores around. But the produce is way too Expensive with the exception of the bananas that are regular price. So I only can go there to but special ingredients or snacks but not to do groceries.
A wonderful store, with fresh produce, meats and baked goods. This place offers a healthy variety of foods, not your common things found in typical grocery stores. If your looking for craft macaroni, this is not the place. A well stocked, clean and friendly store. Next to Weavers Way, this is my favorite places to shop.
Awesome upscale market with a lovely and polite staff. Fantastic meat department with great pre-prepared options. Love this place ❤
Very neat, extensive cheese and meat offer. Nice produce section.
They have the best sushi. Its fresh and delicious. They also have fresh fruits and vegetables. I love shopping at The Fresh Market.
I love Fresh Market! Everything looks inviting & Ive never been disappointed in anything I have purchased here. (Try the risotto cakes!) The desserts are fantastic too. Additionally, the market is clean & the staff is friendly & helpful. I highly recommended The Fresh Market.
All the food and baked goods are fabulous but I also love the staff.
The selection of specialty items here is excellent but their produce is lacking, especially organic produce, and their prices are very high. I tend to come here when I need something that I know I will have difficulty finding at one of the other local grocery stores (both the ACME stores or both the Co-Op locations). Things like specialty cheeses, crackers, frozen items, etc. are all wonderful but with their prices being what they are its just not reasonable to shop here regularly for standard staples.
I love the meat and seafood departments. The food is always very fresh and wrapped with care. Not the cheapest grocery store in the area, but definitely worth the price.
Local Weekly shopper here and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. Good variety of brands, and all healthy. Gives Wegman’s a good run for their money
A large selection of expertly prepared ready-made food is available. Clerks quickly provide friendly assistance.
Such a great experience shopping here, especially compared to the local Acme supermarkets. The prices here are reasonable (and beat Acme for many products), while the quality is excellent for produce, meat and baked goods. On top of all that the service so far has been fantastic. Very glad to have this store in the neighborhood.
Went to the chestnut hill store to find a sauce. The store did not have it.When walking out of the store- I overheard one nasty employee say see this shouldn’t be allowed- people just browsing!Firstly, I have spent thousands of dollars in this store over the past yearSecondly, I practiced and respected social distancing in the store while there. In fact I never even took my hands out of my coat pockets. I don’t need anyone else’s nasty germs on my hands.I have never been so disrespected as a customer. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE AGAIN. Honestly If that woman hates us so much how to I know she’s not spitting on things! In this day and age we were trying to support a local grocer and this was the treatment I received. No thanks. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
This Market has a very diverse selection to choose from....outstanding Ill definitely be back
Its overpriced so the store doesnt have a lot of customers. Fewer customers are great during this Covid pandemic.
My husband and I are a mixed couple. We were in the area and needed to pick up a few items for breakfast tomorrow. We pulled into the parking lot and were immediately profiled. The moment we stepped out of the car, we were told by someone working at the door that we can’t park there or else we would be towed. I guess it never crossed their mind that we would be shopping in their store. Never, ever coming here again.
I had a really nice interaction at the Germantown Ave location yesterday that I felt compelled to review this location. Were in the middle of both a global pandemic and social unrest with a curfew in place to protect citizens, yet every single member of the staff I encountered was welcoming and helpful. I only noticed the name tags of my cashier, Ayanna, who reached out to her manager, John, for help with an issue with my purchase. They both were so helpful, friendly and kind, which set to not have enough of in this chaotic world and I just wanted to recognize them. So thank you to Ayanna, John and the rest of the pleasant staff.
The coffee bean selection is wonderful. The produce is fresh and the prepared food selection is excellently prepared.
Really nice store in Chestnut Hill. Wide variety of fresh produce and products. Their biggest competition is Whole Foods and prices are comparable in many things. However, since there isnt a Whole Foods in Chestnut Hill, this is an excellent alternative. We purchased the sashimi grade tuna for $4.99 per on special and it was excellent. Also tried a bottle of karine & jeff mushroom soup that I havent seen anyplace else that was also quite good (see photos for label info). If youre in the area our want to try somethings you wont find at Whole Foods, then give the place a try. I doubt youll be disappointed.
Very helpful employees
Like Whole Foods but on a smaller scale. Have a good selection of everything gourmet. Lazy cooking dinner, they have great weekly take out meals that wont kill the wallet. Lots of parking. Area to eat outside.
Great for high quality items. Thanks
Very upscale.. Everything is fresh .Love the atmosphere and the staff is on point. Will be shopping here often.I highly recommend going there.
Saturday nite sushi for dinner always a Great choice from Fresh Market.
Great selection of fresh fruits, veggies and pantry items, including lots of organics. I was able to find range of items attentive to culturally diverse population. I visit mainly for small selections of fresh veggies and pantry items to supplement larger grocery store shopping, and have found nice selections. Have not tried meat or fish counter yet, but noticed a variety available that appeared fresh, and the attendants were engaging and knowledgeable when questioned about items. Prepared foods available as well; have not tried yet. Ill update when we try both. Id like few more cheese options, especially fresh cheese such as oaxaca. Store is cute, has relaxed inviting vibe, nicely laid out. The staff on the floor are very friendly, upbeat, and attentive; the staff at checkout could use a little improvement to match that of their colleagues. Nice place to shop. Update: for prepared foods, Ive considered several times, but do not like hygiene issue of staff handling prepared foods without gloves. Ill mention to managers and hope for attention to this. Down to 3 stars from 4 for this.
Clean store with some unique option. Prices are high.
I use to go about three times a week when Im working so I can get some lunch. The deli and the rest of the prepared food is great.
Helpful and friendly staff
I Love It! I Picked Up Some Plant Based Hot Dogs And I Cant Wait To Try Them Out!
My first time here and bought a prepared salad and an already prepared sandwich, roast beef cheddar on an onion roll, thought the sandwich would taste better but the sauce they put on it was too hot. I disliked that. Then I went for their 25% off soup day, this past Monday, Jan. 14 and it was wonderful. I will visit again. Their meats look great!
This store is for those of us who prefer not to cook from scratch but enjoy the quick, easy route of the microwave. Fresh Market is essentially a very large, comprehensive deli. Great selection and very helpful, courteous staff. Love it!
Very good, smaller neighborhood market. Just the right size to not take too long to shop. Excellent produce. Friendly employees. Ill definitely go back.
The Market was very clean and well laid out. Everything was fresh. Love their prepackaged dinners. Meat counter has very nice specials during the week. The chicken was delicious. I will be going back soon.
Great meat selection
Theres a calm, an ambiance, a well-designed environment in an amazing, historic area
Meh. I like thats its typically quiet and spacious, but the offering in terms of quality and variety is just the same as any other large chain supermarket.
Its a good resource in the Hill. Its a little too big for Chestnut Hill maybe. Ill stop there definitely but its caught in-between a whole foods and the better local farmers markets of which there are three in Chestut Hill, Top of the Hill farmers market, The Chestnut Hill Farmers Market, then the Saturday market at the bottom which is the best. I guess The Fresh Market has more mainstreamed items you cant get at these places but then thats what a super market is for. Maybe when the larger building in which it is housed finally maintains occupancy the gestalt will improve and it will feel more friendly and accessible.
Has very unique products. Very good products. Most of which many people have never seen or tried before.
Really excellent. Wonderful variety. Everything very fresh looking. Definitely will go again.
Good options
Cool place with hard to find items, great sushi and top shelf meat and seafood cases!
Ben the butcher was very helpful, friendly, and had great recommendations for cuts of beef and pork. First time in this location and guys like Ben really make you want to become a frequent customer. Definitely a pricey market, but they have many great options and delicious prepared foods.
Just a wonderful market! Great produce, fresh fish and meats and cheese, basics like milk and eggs, fresh breads and bagels. This market makes my life easier...terrific service, too. So glad Captain Andy and his crew set up shop in my little Wyndmoor.
Great food, great service, amazing employees and the management/higher ups are also very kind and human. Found that the place is always clean 100% of the time. Been waiting for the Fresh Market to come to CH ever since it was announced - my father worked at the first Fresh Market ever, which happened to also be in the city I was born in; Charlotte, NC. Of course I have to represent Fresh Market, but just trust me. The groceries are top notch and always the best quality on the market. The food, both prepared and preserved, is out of this world good, bordering on the level of Fresh Markets chefs and food department opening an entirely separate restaurant, and shopping there is not only quick and easy, but can be really enjoyable and enlightening what with all the kind and warm-hearted people around, both to shop and to serve. Love this place, wish I could give it more than 5 stars
Clean, well stocked, friendly staff and meat dept. has many selections.
The Fresh Market is unique in it has interesting and gourmet items with good finished foods and bakery. The real difference is the people, they are always very helpful and kind.Their produce, fish and meats are really good too
You get what you pay for and its worth every. Red. Cent. Vegan from out of town here- your produce is the best Ive come along in years! Cashiers arent miserable, mumble zombies and everyone is helpful. I absolutely love this place.
My first visit. Wonderful. Friendly staff. Clean. Ill be back!
Dispite having a shortage on certain products (Meats), the store is always clean and they provide wipes for the carts, your hands etc.....
This place is really nice. Lots to choose from, and the store itself is beautiful. Personnel is awesome, always helpful and cheery. The only reason it didnt get 5 stars is becAuse it can be a bit pricey.
It is always a delight to enter your Chestnut Hill Pa store, but especially at this time !! Flower displays are SO cheerful and beatiful, the store is so fresh and clean, and your staff are WONDERFUL, always courteous and helpful, which is not easy, with some of the rude customers they are having to deal with in these difficult times !! So grateful to the Chestnut Hill/Phila Fresh Market, sincerely, Jean Wedgwood
Wonder market my daughter and I shop there when we want freshly made salads, pastry and your large variety of cheeses and breads.
The line was long because there was only one cashier open but other than that it was a pleasurable shopping experience
Excellent and extremely helpful staff, and beautiful fresh fruit and veggie selection along with a variety of custom items. Cant wait to go back😊
Excellent variety of healthy foods. Except no whole grain breads?
Food always looks so good, but it is pricey. You can get a variety of items here. Prepared food and bakery are great. Dont expect to find all your favorite grocery store brands though. Much more high end.
Wide variety of organic and special needs foods such as gluten free. Its pricey, but you are getting some unique food out of it. Their meats are priced fairly well, but a little on the expensive side when compared to others grocery stores.
Excellent range of products at high quality - the prices are not cheap, but the price - to - quality is a clean match. The staff are helpful when needed, unobtrusive when not, and always free of attitude. Somehow, unlike other high-end grocery stores in the Philly area, the staff manage to restock the shelves without disrupting customer movement (what a thought!)
Very friendly environment for you everyday healthy eating needs!
A nice upscale grocery. Good selection of high quality prepared foods. Salad bar is good. Store is attractive and well merchandised. Expensive.
Love the candy area. Reminds me of old times
Quality meats. Upay for it and its worth it
A lot of items in a small space. Very good produce selection. Service for meats or Deli can be slow at times.
VERY NICE SPACIOUS STORE. THIS IS OOUR FIRST TIME THEIR AND WILL RETURN. FRESH PRODUCE, DELICIOUS SANDWICHES. A LITTLE PRICY BUT, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!😊😊😍.
The have meal specials every week for $20. I am single and the meals are perfect for me. There vegetables, fruits and meats are fresh.
